A different type of podcast - vlog style. If you have Spotify, you can watch the video on the app, or watch the video on YouTube here. GET READY WITH ME FOR A FIRST DATE in London, one of my favorite cities in the world. This past December I decided to take a solo trip back to the UK to celebrate the holidays, have some good comfort food, and experience what it's like to use dating apps for the first time in A WHILE. In this particular situation, I ended up connecting with a guy on instagram, and then there was a major plot twist...enjoy!

For today’s brand new episode, I’m pleased to welcome back the wonderful Dr Tara Swart. Tara is a neuroscientist, a former medical doctor & psychiatrist, a lecturer at MIT, an executive coach and author of the bestselling book, The Source. She also hosts the podcast Reinvent Yourself with Dr Tara.
If you’ve listened to my two previous episodes with Tara, you’ll remember her unique talent for using neuroscience and behavioural psychology to probe ideas, theories, and practices that many believe work, but we’re not sure why.
This insightful and often unusual episode takes a deep and meaningful look at stress - what exactly it is, what impact it has on health and how it predisposes us to storing fat. We also discuss the most effective ways to manage stress, the best ways to build resilience and the benefits of practices like journalling.
We really do cover a whole variety of different topics today including metacognition, the definition of spirituality, what exactly intuition and interoception are, and how we can use them to get to know our minds and bodies more intimately. We talk about rituals, the incredible power of creativity, beauty, and time spent in nature. And finally, we ask some big questions around the topic of death and consciousness, which Tara is increasingly drawn to studying.
If you’re someone who’s interested in alternative thinking and new ideas, but likes the reassurance of scientific backing, Tara’s warmth and wisdom will tick all your boxes. If you’re a sceptic - well, this conversation might just open your mind.

Intuition is a powerful tool that takes practice to fully unlock. The #1 way to get better at deploying intuition is by not shutting it down. Today's video is an interview I did on The Big Fish Cares Podcast with Benjamin Fisher. I share my thoughts on the importance of balancing your heart with your mind when making decisions, how you can practice kindness and intuition, and the importance of making mistakes to learn from them without over-judging yourself for these mistakes. Hope you enjoy it!

Could you live out of a single backpack? Not for a few weeks or months, but as a lifestyle choice? Well, five years ago, today’s guest gave up his luxury apartment, its contents, his cars and all his possessions – apart from those that fit into his trusty backpack.
Light Watkins has been practising daily meditation for 20 years and teaching it for 15. He’s a mindfulness expert and the bestselling author of four books. His latest book, Travel Light: Spiritual Minimalism to Live a More Fulfilled Life might sound like a guide to decluttering – and in some ways it is. But Light is not necessarily talking about us getting rid of our possessions, he’s trying to help us clear away our inner clutter - the mental baggage that weighs us down, so that we can better see the path to fulfilment and happiness.
Light believes that we should be following our hearts more, and our heads less. This involves knowing our values, tuning in to our curiosity and then taking small leaps of faith towards our purpose. He explains why a daily practice of stillness and contemplation is so important and shares practical advice that will help you make friends with your thoughts and turn your mind into your ally. He also explains how meditation works to dissolve stress and feed our intuition.
It really is a fantastic conversation that takes us to some really deep and meaningful places - we discuss whether time can ever really be wasted. Light talks us through his own minimalist fitness regime – and you’ll find out why he thinks meditation is like a Rubik’s Cube, as well as why he sometimes takes his showers fully clothed!
Above all, Light’s minimalist philosophy is about breaking free from the ‘achievements bring happiness’ approach to life and discovering that happiness really does come from within. I hope you enjoy listening.

You're dating someone new and suddenly, they show up to a date wearing crocs, or wear goggles to the beach and you get the ick. You immediately lose all attraction to them, you feel the immediate need to end the relationship, why is that? In this episode we break down some of the surprising psychology behind the ick, including the links to our intuition, emotional unavailability, rejection sensitivity and more, but also why the ick isn't always a death sentence. We also discuss why we voluntarily give ourselves the ick towards the people we're interested in and how we can use it to detach from people who may not be good for us. All of that and more! In today’s episode, prepare to open your mind to larger possibilities and amazing capabilities that you already have.
I am sitting down with intuitive psychic medium Kim Russo, who is here to share her gift and tell you how you can get in touch with your intuitive gift, too.
I first learned about Kim from Oprah Winfrey and immediately knew I needed to get her on the talk show I hosted. What happened next changed my entire life.
When Kim was just a child, she realized she could see people who’d passed away, and nobody else was seeing them. After years of denying it, she decided to lean into her incredible skill. A skill she says you have too.
If you’ve ever sensed somebody’s with you, you’re right. Kim says we travel with two or three loved ones at all times. Have you ever had that little voice in your head or gut feeling about something? Kim says that your loved ones are trying to guide you.
This episode is remarkable because you are not only going to learn how Kim tapped into her abilities, but you'll also learn how you can tap into yours.
Kim has helped MILLIONS tune into their innate intuition by teaching them to quiet their minds and listen to their inner voice to figure out the next step.
Are you skeptical? I was, too.
Until she gave me a message from my dead father-in-law. It is the reason I sold my Boston home after 26 years and moved to southern Vermont. She changed my life forever.
What Kim will teach you is invaluable; you will learn:
Kim will show you why and how we must open up our minds and hearts to new possibilities and use the guidance of our loved ones to navigate life.
You just have to listen.
Xo, Mel

Today, we're diving deep into the fascinating world of decision-making because, let's face it, we make choices left and right every single day. Some are as big as deciding to tie the knot or have kiddos, while others are as small as picking out the right T-shirt color!
So, what's the secret sauce to making the best choices for your life? Well, I've got some fantastic tips to share with you:
1️⃣ First things first, let's talk about finding your "North Star." It's like setting your life's GPS to what truly matters to you. What do you want your life to look like, and what's your ultimate purpose? Let's align your decisions with that guiding star!
2️⃣ You've got skills and talents, right? So do I! But it's essential to choose paths that align with your North Star, not just the ones that bring in the big bucks. Trust me; fulfillment is the name of the game.
3️⃣ Speaking of fulfillment, ever noticed how some choices just feel right deep down in your gut? Well, there's actual science behind it! Your gut feeling, or intuition, is a powerful decision-making tool linked to your enteric nervous system. It's your second brain, and it's worth paying attention to!
4️⃣ To make even better choices, try the "10-10-10 rule." Ask yourself how you'll feel about a decision in 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years. It's like peering into the future to see if your choice stands the test of time!
5️⃣ Lastly, remember to pause and reflect. Give your brain some time to shift from emotional reactions to logical reasoning. This simple step can save you from impulsive decisions you might regret later.
I get it; we're often drawn to logical thinking, but sometimes our feelings and intuition are our secret superpowers. When you blend gut instincts with critical thinking, magic happens! 🌟
So, join me on this incredible journey of self-discovery and better decision-making. Hit that subscribe button, leave a comment, and let's embark on a mind-blowing adventure together!
