It’s a fantastic episode to help you begin 2024 as you mean to go on.

The idea behind this theme was to collect all the best tips, tricks and evidence-based techniques to help you reframe some of the ways you might see the world. Reframing means that when challenges arise, or difficult conversations or decisions present themselves, you can choose to approach them in a different way. With time you will genuinely feel differently about them – and find yourself embracing life with a new sense of freedom and fulfilment.

The clips you’ll hear include some powerful, life-changing ideas and insights on controlling your reaction to stressors, managing anxiety and overwhelm, learning to sit with your thoughts, and growing your resilience and self-compassion. As we see in a new year, with all its talk of resolutions and ‘new yous’, I think you’ll appreciate our experts’ realistic take on making healthy habits stick and overcoming limiting beliefs or unhelpful thought patterns. If you ever feel a bit lost in life, as if you’ve strayed from your intended path, this podcast will help. Together, my guests will help you to reconnect with your true, authentic self. And that’s something we could all do with in modern life.

You’ll hear from former guests including Jay Shetty, Oliver Burkeman, Rich Roll, Peter Crone, James Clear, Jim Kwik, Mel Robbins, Dr Kristen Neff, Dr Edith Eger, Pippa Grange and Julia Samuel – to name but a few – on how to harness the power of your mind and cultivate emotional and spiritual growth.

Remember that each of the clips in this podcast comes from a full-length episode. So if you like what you hear, check the show notes for links to listen to those speakers’ episodes in full. My team and I loved compiling this episode for you, it’s been a wonderful reminder of our purpose in life. And I hope that some of the wisdom you hear today will inspire you to find yours.

A Savior for When We're Stuck

Is there any hope for us when we're stuck?  Sean and Kate continue to look at David's first wife, Michal, who was stuck in her resentments and bitterness as a result of the hurts and traumas she had suffered.  Her story surprisingly gives us hope because she is just the kind of person Jesus came for.

Will Smith, Forgiveness Debates, and Body Image and Oprah Discussions with the Crew

Will Smith, Forgiveness Debates, and Body Image and Oprah Discussions with the Crew

Welcome to a conversation that moves through a spectrum of stimulating topics, from the recent hip-hop 50th-anniversary celebration to the societal issues surrounding body image, weight loss, and beauty standards. Joined by the entire crew, Rick, Andrea, Cynthia and Tommy Lee, we kick off with a discussion about the performances by Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and the Fresh Prince and their profound impact on the hip-hop genre. We also share some light-hearted banter about the technical difficulties of streaming and the exciting journey of Tommy as he steps into a new professional chapter.

It's not all laughter and light though, as we tackle the complex topic of forgiveness and redemption, especially concerning celebrities with controversial personal lives. Through candid conversations about Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's open marriage, the Chris Rock feud, and the personal experiences of the hosts, we navigate the murky waters of forgiveness. We also explore how our capacity to forgive, or our tendency to hold grudges, can transform our relationships with friends and family.

Finally, we pivot to a pressing societal issue - the obsession with body image and weight loss. Here we examine Oprah Winfrey's weight loss journey, the societal perceptions, and the relentless pressure faced by celebrities under the public eye. Drawing on personal anecdotes and experiences, we underline the importance of self-love, acceptance, and the challenges of navigating fame and public perception. This is a journey of discovery, reflection, and understanding, and we invite you to join us. Together, let's redefine our perspectives and challenge societal norms.

'REWRITING OUR STORIES' - Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar

'REWRITING OUR STORIES' - Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar
The message was delivered on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister. DESCRIPTION Stories of nations and groups are passed down between the generations and sometimes create seemingly endless conflicts, like we are seeing in Israel and Gaza. In Oklahoma and across the USA, schools and governments are in conflict about how to tell our state and country’s history. How do groups rewrite such stories to come up with a common history that is both true and makes room for a positive future for all? Perhaps more importantly, what is it about the stories you tell yourself, about yourself and others, that keeps you in perpetual conflicts? Often such stories contain our ideal images of what a person should be. We have conceptions of what a person must be like to be lovable, to be successful, to be powerful or to be good. We also have stories about the ideal spouse or partner or the ideal child and family. These are images we pick up that often get in the way of our seeing the true beauty and holiness in the people we love - and even in ourselves .These stories we have about ourselves and others are "real" and powerful in that they shape our lives and relationships. When we realize they’re destructive - we need to go back and re-author our stories. What is the story you tell yourself about why you do what you do. Is it time to rewrite any parts of your life story? Should you be seeking a ceasefire to end the casualties created by the stories you tell? Trust Your Gut: The Science and Spirit of Intuitive Decision-Making

Trust Your Gut: The Science and Spirit of Intuitive Decision-Making

In today’s episode, prepare to open your mind to larger possibilities and amazing capabilities that you already have.

I am sitting down with intuitive psychic medium Kim Russo, who is here to share her gift and tell you how you can get in touch with your intuitive gift, too.

I first learned about Kim from Oprah Winfrey and immediately knew I needed to get her on the talk show I hosted. What happened next changed my entire life.

When Kim was just a child, she realized she could see people who’d passed away, and nobody else was seeing them. After years of denying it, she decided to lean into her incredible skill. A skill she says you have too.

If you’ve ever sensed somebody’s with you, you’re right. Kim says we travel with two or three loved ones at all times. Have you ever had that little voice in your head or gut feeling about something? Kim says that your loved ones are trying to guide you.

This episode is remarkable because you are not only going to learn how Kim tapped into her abilities, but you'll also learn how you can tap into yours.

Kim has helped MILLIONS tune into their innate intuition by teaching them to quiet their minds and listen to their inner voice to figure out the next step.

Are you skeptical? I was, too.

Until she gave me a message from my dead father-in-law. It is the reason I sold my Boston home after 26 years and moved to southern Vermont. She changed my life forever.

What Kim will teach you is invaluable; you will learn:

    • What intuition is—and it’s not crazy woo-woo stuff.
    • Why that little voice in your head is actually right—and you need to listen to it.
    • The simple but powerful lessons she learned from those who have passed over will make your shoulders relax instantly.
    • That every soul on this planet has a purpose, and how to find out what yours is.
    • What the brain-heart connection is and how it instantly gives you the information you need right now.
    • That you have souls supporting you from the other side, and how to connect with them.

Kim will show you why and how we must open up our minds and hearts to new possibilities and use the guidance of our loved ones to navigate life.

    You just have to listen.

    Xo, Mel
