Changing Your Mind IS A Strength

Changing Your Mind IS A Strength

Today's episode of the podcast is a conversation I had in 2019 around the topic of changing your mind and whether it's a good or bad thing. The power of changing your mind and why being adaptable, especially if it involves your pursuit of happiness, is crucial for success. Sometimes it all comes down to persisting vs. pivoting your perspective when working on projects or even life in general. Whether you're an entrepreneur, a content creator, or simply striving for personal growth, this episode offers practical strategies for turning feedback into a powerful tool for improvement. I hope you enjoy it!

    I'm going to stop being a B*tch x

    I'm going to stop being a B*tch x
(Video podcast available on Spotify & YouTube) Madeline is joined by her dog Bugs for this episode as they ring in the New Year together. Madeline starts out by telling a scary story of how Bugs almost died recently by eating a candy cane off the Christmas tree. After it was lodged in her throat (plastic and all), Madeline rushed her to the vet where she was fed four courses of charcoal and seen by poison control. A large heap of money later, Bugs is thankfully now back to normal. Madeline also shares that she is against the idea of traditional New Year’s resolutions as she believes that resolutions are a toxic mindset. She thinks that you should instead have daily or monthly resolutions and goals that you should think about every day of the year rather than just once per year. Madeline’s first goal for 2024 is to start actually using her gym membership. She admits that the only reason she has gone to the gym this year was to use the gym shower while hers was broken. Madeline’s next few goals for the year include cooking for herself, writing in her diary again, and no longer lying to her therapist. Cheers to 2024 and another year of Pretty Lonesome! The Fastest Way to Get to $100,000 is THIS

The Fastest Way to Get to $100,000 is THIS

In today’s podcast, I’m joined by Erika Kullberg, where we dive deep into the concept of self-awareness. We tackle the burning question of the fastest route to $100,000, and my answer is simple: self-awareness. It’s about understanding your personal strengths and challenges .. like how I learned to balance kindness with candor for better communication. We also touch on the careful thought behind every social media post, or what we call at VaynerX SOC aka "Strategic Organic Content." Plus, some insights into my investment wins and the self-aware approach to what truly makes me happy. This episode is a compact guide to the big impact of self-awareness in our lives.

    Little Flaws

    Little Flaws

Daniel Kahneman says, "The long-term success of a relationship depends far more on avoiding the negative than on seeking the positive."

It's like that in so many areas of life.

Most people know what they're good at, or at least they think they do. Flaws, though, tend to be nuanced, and we're often blind to them.

This episode shares dozens of little flaws I often think about -- ones that are easy to ignore, but can compound into disasters over time.

Craig Conover isn’t following traditional business advice! Southern Charm fan favorite reveals to $ecrets to his major success within reality tv, law, entrepreneurship and relationship.
This week, Jason is joined by entrepreneur, lawyer, author, podcast host, and one of Bravo’s fan favorites from its hit reality show, Southern Charm, Craig Conover!

Craig reigns as the pillow magnate of Charleston and beyond after starting his own sewing and southern lifestyle brand, which has been well documented on the show. His business has become a huge success via eCommerce and his brick and mortar location in Charleston. In addition to all of his business success, Craig continues his career in law, hosts a podcast, wrote a book, and continuously grows his brand on social media with his professional life.

Craig gives insight on how he manages all of his endeavors, which Real World contestant he connected with when he was asked to be on Southern Charm, why it took him an extra year to be sworn in after passing the bar,  which type of attorney he thinks is the safest option, how Bravo works with his business and how it ties into the show, and how he got out of his own way.

Craig also reveals how the company was originally operating, the first big day for Sewing Down South which prompted the need for inventory, how he has broken the traditional business rules with partnering with Jerry and Amanda, the correlation between when the show is on air and store sales, how law provided an incredible fallback, his first scripted film experience, and his approach to influencing and investing.

How does he keep his days organized? Why did he go to law school? What impact does the show have on his business? What other reality show would he do?

Craig  reveals all that and so much more in another episode you can’t afford to miss!

So... tell us about yourself - Part 2

So... tell us about yourself - Part 2

It’s the kick off to almost every interview, and we KNOW from part 1 that storytelling is so important, but after hundreds of coaching sessions with people prepping for interviews, Sarah has learnt a thing or two about the common challenges people have with their career story.

In this week’s episode, Sarah and Emma go into way more detail about your career story. What is it meant to do, what the common mistakes are, and the questions you can ask yourself to build a GREAT intro straight away.

🏀 Shoot Your Shot - Shoutout to Julie “Buying you a round with my first new paycheck! I was starting to feel taken for granted at my old place; we were understaffed and I was nearly the last person in my department, while being kept on a temporary contract. Meanwhile I was concerned that a rocky employment history might mean a long and painful job search like I'd had in the past. I landed an interview for a job that would be a big step up and a 40% pay rise, and the morning of I found your podcast while looking for inspiration. I listened to an episode about 'best bits' and thank goodness I did. The interview was like nothing I'd experienced before, it was almost like a quiz - what are our main markets and how would you grow them, what support do we offer clients and how would you contribute etc. Thanks to preparing my 'best bits' I was ready to proactively showcase the things I wanted to talk about - and absolutely aced the interview, so much so that they offered me the job even though I had a pre-planned holiday during their busiest time of year. When I had my meeting with the VP in charge of my division she told me the interview panel raved about me afterward. Thank you both for your miracle-worker of a podcast!”

Guest Series | Dr. Paul Conti: Tools and Protocols for Mental Health

Guest Series | Dr. Paul Conti: Tools and Protocols for Mental Health
This is episode 4 of a 4-part special series on mental health with Stanford and Harvard-trained psychiatrist Dr. Paul Conti, M.D. Dr. Conti explains what true self-care is and how our mental health benefits from specific self-care and introspection practices — much in the same way that our physical health benefits from certain exercise and nutrition habits. He describes how the foundation of mental health is an understanding of one’s own mind and the specific questions to ask in order to explore the conscious and unconscious parts of ourselves. He describes how this process can be done either on our own, through journaling, meditation and structured thought, or in therapy with the help of a licensed professional. He also explains how unprocessed trauma can short-circuit the process and how to prevent that, and the role of friendships and other relational support systems in the journey of self-exploration for mental health. People of all ages and those with and without self-introspection and therapy experience ought to benefit from the information in this episode. This Is Why People Lack Happiness.

This Is Why People Lack Happiness.

Today's podcast is a throwback to 2019, featuring a keynote I delivered in Orlando. In this keynote, I delve into the root causes of unhappiness that prevent you from pursuing what you genuinely desire. Whether it's launching a podcast, creating a new video, or posting a photo of yourself on social media, much of the hesitation stems from people placing too much value on judgment and societal norms over their own happiness. I deeply explore how this mindset can be harmful and offer insights on how to overcome such thinking patterns. Enjoy!
