How to hold your confidence in the face of peer pressure with Amanda Yoa

How to hold your confidence in the face of peer pressure with Amanda Yoa
Beginning –Building confidence is often a whole journey. Very rarely is someone just born with it or unaffected by external factors that harm our self image and esteem. Sometimes it’s easier to stay stuck and miserable than doing the work to heal.We self sabotage our progress, often subconsciously, by telling all of these stories both in our heads to ourselves as well as to other people about why we can’t start yet. It’s a form of procrastination due to the awareness that it is a lot of work and we’re comfortable in the familiar discomfort we’re currently in because it’s all we’ve ever known. We become trapped in the same patterns we gathered as children which becomes our default system on what to say, think and do. Going against that programming is how we create a different reality for ourselves but that requires responsibility for what we choose moving forward. We’re trained for external validation which leads many of us to people pleasing. This makes changing our patterns to find ourselves and our confidence even harder because it means making other people uncomfortable. Everyone in our lives has become accustomed to what they expect us to be and if we start acting out of that character they’ve identified us as it shakes up their world and they don’t like that.If we start changing the way we’ve always interacted with certain people, they’re most likely going to perceive it as an attack or a falsity. They don’t realize that the true falsity has always been the show you’ve put on to keep them happy. If you choose to end that charade, their confusion is going to lead them to respond and it may be a positive response or it may not. It’s important to remember to hold onto your boundaries and clarity in why you’re choosing this alternative path. You don’t have to “wait until” anything. There is no such thing as a “perfect time” and the sooner you decide to begin, the sooner you can start to see progress. True healing occurs every moment of every regular day. If you’re serious about healing and stepping into a new reality for yourself, that reality exists on any given regular Tuesday.Make it messy and do it scared. That’s what’s real. Perfect isn’t a real thing anywhere for anything. It’s an abstract, relative thought that morphs between person to person. It cannot be caught or expressed outside of your perception.True healing takes trying and then failing so that you may learn and grow. It’s never going to be any kind of perfect because the very nature of life is messy and nonlinear.
10:13 –You have to question yourself and everything you do, say and think. Instead of looking at life as things happening “to” you, identifying what enables you to progress and what enables you to stay the same.Questions to ask yourself:
    • “Is this helping or hurting me?”
    • “Does this get me closer to my goals?”
    • “Am I picking short term, false comfort over long term happiness?”
    • “Am I choosing other people’s comfort over my own?”
    • “Where does this thought/habit originate from?”
    • “Am I procrastinating my progress?”
    • “Is the story/belief I’m holding onto true?”
We’re all afraid. If you can overcome that fear and do the thing anyway, you’ll find a sense of gratitude and accomplishment on the other side that’s unbelievably rewarding. You can choose to do the thing scared. It’s mind over matter. The hardest part of most things is showing up to do the thing in the first place. Once you show up you generally get swept away in a cascade of events that lands you in the path of least resistance of doing the thing.Often times it’s easier to do the thing we’re afraid of than it is to disappoint someone we love. Peer pressure can be downright dangerous.18:35 –External validation may be the number one thing that impacts those of us with anxiety and confidence issues. Comparing ourselves to others can also be a trap. You never ever want to compare yourself to anyone other than a previous version of yourself. There are too many factors at play that you couldn’t possibly understand and people only show us what they want us to see. We’re not for everyone. Some people are going to love us, some are going to hate us. That’s a fact that we HAVE to learn to accept. When you do, you can effortlessly start to be yourself and things become easier. When you step into your authenticity, there’s always room for you at the table that accepts you. And if there’s no table to be found, you make your own table. If it’s exhausting you, it’s not you. If it’s exhausting you, it’s unsustainable and unhealthy. It takes a lot of experimentation to figure out who “you” really is. It’s a process that takes time. Historically we needed to fit in with the village in order to survive. Not only is being ourselves a new (SAFE) concept but it’s important these days to figure out who we are so that we can find our place amongst the village. There are levels to confidence. You have to find the confidence in being yourself with yourself before you can cultivate being confident around other people. Practice with yourself in the mirror, try things out around your safe people. Whatever helps you step stone your way to confidence.Like attracts like so if you’re around people who don’t make you feel comfortable and safe it’s highly likely that they also don’t feel comfortable and safe in who they are. When you show up as yourself, it’s going to trigger people in either a direction of growth or stagnation. That’s up to them but it is going to create resistance and friction. You have to pay attention to what YOU are feeling. Ignore them. They’re projecting. It’s all subconscious. They don’t realize that’s what’s going on. You have to hold onto compassion for them. Confidence energy can sometimes come off as mean girl energy. Be careful, stay humble. Our society these days is too quick to cut people off. That is exactly how you end up with no one. You have to be intentional and learn discernment between those who mean well and don’t know any better versus those who are toxic and happy to stay that way.33:12 –Not everyone is on the same journey as you or in the same place as you and they may never be. You have to decide if they’re worth finding middle ground with. You may have to be conscious about avoiding certain topics with them. No one’s perfect. You have to find your external validation amongst peers and know who isn’t a safe space for certain topics.Boundaries is about keeping people in your life, not out of your life. Intuitively, we think boundaries means throwing up walls but it really means knowing where your limits are so that you can keep well meaning people in your life that just don’t understand where you are or what you need. You don’t know what you don’t know so you can’t even search for what you need and want if you’ve never been introduced to the concept of it. The internet is brand new and we can’t blame our parents for their lack of understanding and knowing.39:15 –Many struggle with confidence because we have to spend our lives masking in order to be accepted. A trap of alcohol is that it allows the mask to slip away more easily. Alcohol is a common way to numb reality and avoid life.We can very easily get so use to suppressing certain emotions that we forget that we’re even suppressing them. They can then manifest as unsolicited panic attacks in your down time that come out of no where and speak no rhyme or reason for the moment. When you get still with your thoughts, suppressed energies see their opportunity to be processed and released. Some of these can be overwhelmingly large. Coming out of no where, years after the initial event can be a really powerful and terrifying experience. Learning breathing and relaxation techniques can help you to ride them out to the other side to be free of them.WHIRL POOL ANALOGY!!!

How Hypnotherapy can help trauma survivors with Dr. Dana Saperstein PHD

How Hypnotherapy can help trauma survivors with Dr. Dana Saperstein PHD
Beginning –There’s tons of different things hypnotherapy can be used to help including but not at all limited to anxiety, trauma, various addictions, self discovery and much much more. Dr Saperstein specializes in helping people with sexual trauma through hypnotherapy.Years ago hypnotherapy was seen as very controversial. People’s misunderstanding led them to distrust in it made worse by those who used it as a tool to manipulate the courts in various cases. For these reasons, many professionals shelved it as a tool, so it’s not always easy to find a practitioner who’s willing to use it with trauma survivors. When trauma is experienced, we innately go into an altered state of consciousness in order to protect ourselves and survive the moment. We don’t have the safety at the time of the trauma to be able to process the emotions of it. Hypnotherapy deliberately recreates this scenario in safe space so that the emotions can be processed and released. This allows for healing to begin. Many professionals are afraid to take on any trauma cases. So much so that they put the fact that they don’t touch trauma cases right up front in their pitches. This can leave so many people displaced, wanting help but struggling to find it.Hypnotherapy is really just a deeper form of meditation. I’ve spoken on it in depth on this page if you’d like to know more when you’re done over here.6:57 –Fear comes from misunderstanding but also facing your trauma is a terrifying thing. Going deeply within yourself to resolve these things takes an enormous amount of courage. It’s not going to be pleasant. Most therapies focus on resolving symptoms of the trauma. This particular mode using hypnotherapy is used to target that which is generating the symptoms in the first place. Symptoms are pointing you towards what needs to be healed. It’s all energy. All problems in your life, whether it be physical ailments, mental turmoil or even quality of life focused, are all stemming from stuck energy within you. It’s what so many ancient teachings tried to explain to us but science is finally starting to catch up to it and solidify it into our understanding. Most everything is deeply rooted in emotions we’re holding onto. The statistics for sexual and physical abuse as well as neglect are astounding. These things are unfortunately more common that not in our society. Healing them hurts because you have to bring them to the surface whereas most of us suppress and bury these feelings in an effort to not feel them.In suppressing them, we’re holding onto them though. And holding onto them is exactly what’s causing us to experience these negative manifestations in our bodies and life. The only way to heal these is to allow them to run their course, which means feeling them.10:02 –We understandably have concerns of hypnotherapy creating false memories. Sometimes this happens but a fail safe to remember is that the content of the “newly unlocked memories” may be distorted but the feelings you have associated with them are most likely true. This can be related to dreams and how the content isn’t as important as the symbolism and the emotions tied to them. Remember, energy communicates in feelings and directions rather than concreate words and images. We discuss past life regression. “Many Lives, Many Masters” book. Ancestral trauma is a very real thing that areas of study are proving in study. Something terrible that happened to our greatest of great great grandparents that then became coded in our DNA and passed down to us to process and release. Sometimes it’s hard to say what’s ours, what’s our ancestor’s and what happened in a past life. Epigenetics is one faction studying this now.All of the various ailments seem like separate things to the general public but when you really start studying it all, you start to see all of the patterns and things become simpler. All problems stem from a root cause of some sort of trauma.Playing with hypnotherapy can be dangerous if you’re not prepared to deal with the things that come up after the door is opened. Some (as seen with entertainment – stage hypnosis) can go into thinking it’s all fun and games and walk away changed due to what comes up and is experienced. Most of the work in healing is sitting with the feelings and surrendering to what happened. It sucks. It shouldn’t have happened. But it did. How can acceptance be found in order to release the pain and move forward?20:13 –Most of the time, in order to accept, release and heal, all we need is a safe place with a safe individual who we respect and is there to validate and support us. Dr. Saperstein points out that this is most likely due to the fact that our trauma is most often caused by someone who was close to us and should have protected us. So to counteract that damage done, we need someone who fulfills the role of what they should have been for us.Trauma is caused by malice but also by ignorance. Too often, children are hurt by people who just didn’t know any better. That’s a hard fact to deal with because ‘how can you not know that your actions were harmful!?” Unfortunately, that’s a common truth.People have a hard time with the word ‘forgiveness’. In many situations, people aren’t intending to harm one another, it’s just something that happened unintentionally. Most people really are trying their best with the limited knowledge, understanding and resources they have available to them. That’s not to say that some people aren’t absolutely terrible. Some are. Most people who inflict trauma were they themselves traumatized and are unconsciously passing on the cycle.27:46 –A big misconception about the rich is that they’re all stuck up and out for themselves. When you understand the laws of the universe, though, you’re able to see that in order to meet certain criteria for abundance, you have to be kind, generous and thoughtful. Sure, you can get to those higher statuses through more malice but doing it that way isn’t how it happens for most people because your actions and choices have to align with your heart.Money follows value. Having all of your basic needs met opens you up to the freedom of being unselfish and generous in all areas that you can find. The vast majority of victims blame themselves at least initially and/or subconsciously for what happened. There’s also a misconception that sexual abuse and other traumas occur from a stranger that walks their way into your life but most is caused by a close friend, relative or caretaker. We learn to lie to ourselves in an effort to understand why things happened to us. When someone abuses us, they leave behind a poison that we mistake as our own. Victim blaming is so common that the victims also begin to blame themselves for the incident.Victim blaming is easier than taking responsibility for the evils you’ve done or accepting that others have done evil to someone. We don’t want to believe that these things are so common so we suppress it the only ways we know how to. Shutting it all down and sweeping it into the shadows in an effort to not have to be uncomfortable with addressing it.Obviously, we should not be doing any of this. Understanding why people take the routes they do is not at all excusing the routes chosen. Instead, understanding makes them easier to identify when they arise so that persistence can be taken. Otherwise, we’re allowing the perpetuation of these harmful practices and more damage to the victim is done.
    38:58 –
It’s historically been seen as unprofessional for professionals to speak about themselves, their life and their experiences. This has led to most pretending they don’t exist outside of their workspace. Professionals instead being open about what they’ve dealt with gives them their humanity back and allows them to connect with victims who have endured similar challenges. Being honest about what you’ve personally gone through helps those who need you to more easily find you. When you’re seeking a professional for a certain type of help, it’s okay to question them on their personal life a bit to try and gauge if they are capable of helping you. A formal education, certification, degree or license doesn’t automatically mean qualified for your specific needs. Every professional is just a person and any person can only help another on a level of which they themselves have experienced.
Especially when dealing with trauma and healing, you’ll generally find professionals who aren’t very helpful more easily than you will find someone who really can help. There’s a lot of problematic hoops here that make finding someone to help you pretty difficult. Please be persistent and don’t give up because you landed on a few unhelpful ones in the beginning. Keep searching and expand your inquires outside of traditional therapy. You deserve the help you need and that help can come in unassuming forms but they are out there.
42:50 –A common trap that people fall into when they want to help someone (speaking nonprofessionally in more of a private setting) is willingness to help in any way that isn’t emotional. The biggest help a

The Ancient Art of Channeling with Margie Breault

The Ancient Art of Channeling with Margie Breault
    Beginning –
Channeling has been tied to mediumship and psychic abilities in a way it wasn’t originally. The ancient art of channeling is about being able to recognize and connect with the natural energies of the world. Being able to connect with the stars, the earth, planets and all forms of consciousness. Not just the formless spiritual realm.

Connecting with the natural laws of the universe. Everything comes from one natural source. Of course, we argue about that source, calling it God or the universe or even the big bang but we all pretty well agree that us, this world and everything in it came from this source. The oneness. Energy is never created nor destroyed, only exchanged and transformed.

We’re all mediums. It comes to us in different forms though. We, as people tend to get too tied up in concrete, clear cut words but that’s not at all how nature communicates. Channeling can come in the form of smell, taste, intuition, writing, speaking, art, and so many other ways. Nearly never is it clear cut information but more feelings, generalizations and directions.

Our society and culture has spent a lot of time separating everything into categories, areas and boxes. The nature of it all though is not separate. It’s all an interconnected web. Science and mysticism are all one in the same. All that is, is simply what is. We try to separate the two but any truth to mysticism would only be science we have yet to understand. We’ve been taught that “woo-woo” is lucrative because this is exactly the kind of stuff that empowers us and those who would control us and have their agenda pushed can’t do that if we know and feel our own power. The way society is ran defies any natural logic.

We are a whole being, not just a mind separate from a body separate from a soul but all in one and society has not been made to support that. It’s been made to perpetuate the separation of ourselves from one another and the earth we belong to.

    11:32 –Cognitive dissonance again.
We don’t want to face the fact that we’ve been lied to and created a whole society and each of our lives based off of these lies.Everything seems like it’s falling apart because we’re dismantling the system. You have to make a mess in order to clean a mess. This system isn’t going to be changed by force. It’s only changed by changing the people in the system and that means each of us stubbornly holding onto our values of love, compassion, community, togetherness, acceptance and all of the other positive energies we want to advocate for.

Having to deal with people who are unaware of their own patterns is hard. Lots of anger, resentment and the like will arise but you have to control those energies within yourself because you can’t change people through force anymore than you can beat someone into respecting you. You HAVE to lead by example. You have to be disciplined in your practices and self compassion because no one is perfect. You are going to make mistakes and fall off from what you were trying to do. At that point you have a choice to either wallow in that or get up and try again, forgiving yourself in the process for being human.

Toxic positivity is when you ignore the reality of life, refusing to allow anything that isn’t sunshine and rainbows to be in your presence. The nature of life involves the law of polarity where, in order for these positive things to exist, the negative has to as well. We honor the dark side of reality, we don’t shun it because that, too, is unhealthy. True power is finding balance between the two.Think magnetics. All things are both sides of itself, ‘good’ and ‘bad’, positive and negative. In a hurricane, you want to remain in the eye of the storm. Everything is both. Duality.

20:06 –People are going to confuse you and you have to hold your confidence in yourself. Not a single person on this planet can give you an accurate perception of yourself because you’re the only person who has been with you every single moment of your life since birth. You’re the only one that knows what you’ve experienced and what you took away from those experiences. No one else, no matter how close you are to them, can give you an accurate account of who you really are.

Don’t fall into this trap, because people will have you questioning who you are REAL QUICK. We’re conditioned for external validation so when people start telling us how they see us, it can really mess with our views of ourselves. Especially when what they’re telling us is projections of their own self and doesn’t fit with who we believe ourselves to be.

There are 11 other laws accompanying the law of attraction. If you’re trying to manifest intentionally, it’s important to look at these other laws.

Perception is everything. Where we align our values is where we manifest. Often, our words, deeds and actions are unaligned, and then we’re confused at the way things pan out. We have to be making a conscious effort to ensure they all match so that we can actually manifest the life we’re wanting. If you say you want one thing but then act in another way, the universe doesn’t know what to do with you. It’s important to try and be conscious of the feedback you’re giving people. You don’t want to perpetuate the external validation problem. You want to encourage self validation independent of others.

27:47 –The best way to get started with learning any of this is finding a supportive community. Finding in person community can be difficult in some areas but there is always online communities. Not the same, no. Nor as powerful but if that’s all you have for now, that’s all you have for now. Books are also a great way to learn and get started (recommendations below).Knowledge versus wisdom is knowing versus practicing. Wisdom is gained through the practice of. All of this already lives inside of you. It’s just a matter of accessing it.

You don’t have to stay within the constructs of any ideology that you’re learning about. You should learn about a lot of things in a lot of ideologies and then take from it what resonates with you. Discard the rest if you like. Make your own ideology from it. You get to choose what you want to believe and who you want to be and what you want to take with you into your life and practice. The word witch.
Until recently we thought as a society that sadness and depression was just a normal human state of existence. Which was always a red flag because now we’re finding that emotions are just energy in motion and a sign of things that we need to work on. Now we know. Now we have direction and can work on it. We can now transmute that energy.

You have to put yourself in a 3rd person perspective rather than a 1st person perspective. You have to dethatch yourself from what you’re experiencing instead of internalizing it. Once you recognize your patterns, you don’t really gain new ones. They become recognizable as the same things you’ve always dealt with, just with a different face. Since you recognize this problem as familiar you can implement all you’ve learned so far on it, because you’ve done this before.

It’s all about the disciplines and the practices so that when problems arise, you can handle them with grace. The more you practice, the quicker you’ll be able to overcome these problems when they arise. You’re not being fake by choosing a different version of yourself today.

    Pregnancy Myths With Maryn Green

    Pregnancy Myths With Maryn Green
Beginning –Birth is an intricate and delicate system of hormones that work together to progress the labor and delivery process. Each hormone triggers an important step all the way up to the moment of birth where we receive the bonding hormones.

Anything foreign introduced into this system has the potential to disrupt it. Disruptions can include anything from stalled labor to feelings of disconnect between yourself and your baby. The standard system of care for birthing parents and their new babies is not set up for our best interests. Despite having the research and knowledge that many of our standard practices are harmful, we continue to push them on every parent-baby unit.

Birth is such a powerful initiation into parenthood for the birther and into life for the baby. How it goes has a significant impact on the unit and how well they do together in the following months and years into childhood. Instead of allowing this very important initiation to unfold in it’s powerful way, we numb it with everything we can.

Sure, this is helpful in the pains of labor but it comes at the price of causing potential trauma if things go poorly and the ramifications of setting up these parent-baby relationships to be more difficult. This situation sets parents up for failure which is then detrimental to the whole of society. Parents who have traumatic births and or don’t feel bonded to their baby may have a hard time caring for them properly. We have been made to fear birth. It can be a dangerous and emotionally charged process that deals with very real outcomes, but we were also made to continue on the species. Therefore, most birthing bodies are made to accomplish it with little to no complications when supported with appropriate care, which varies from person to person.

This fear however has left us with even more difficulties when it comes to legalities of the system. Homebirth and midwifery aren’t legal in all places and those seeking a more physiological experience may have to fight for it. This is made even more difficult by well meaning friends and family who aren’t informed on what is actually normal, unnormal and helpful versus hurtful in the system.Birth is a private event that has been taken over with controlling vigor in the name of false safety. This extreme level of control has ramifications on levels we aren’t immediately aware of but ripples through all of our society. The legalities and restrictions have put a chokehold on birth, birth workers and the options the common person has available to them.

8:10 –They started moving the birth scene into the hospitals around the 1950s. Up until that point, most babies were born in the privacy of the home with only a few select individuals whom the mother felt comfortable with. We’re so disconnected to the birth process that many of those who have had multiple births themselves are still unfamiliar with the process and what is and isn’t normal. So many are eager to wipe their hands of any responsibility in the matter, handing over complete control and dictation to their doctor.

This hospital setting and relinquishing control to the system works really for some parents and babies. It shouldn’t be forced upon everyone though. Some new parents desire the more sacred, spiritual and divine side of this transformational process and to experience it without dilution or micro management. These parents take on the responsibility of working for a good and positive experience and outcome through a marathon of self education as well as a mental, emotional and physical preparation for birth. Most who get the empowered birth they want did a lot of upfront work in an effort to make it happen. Working through fears and coping possibilities ahead of time being some ways of preparing. We can do our best to prepare but birth is a chaotic mystery that unfolds differently each time. The energetic resonance we’re born into effects us throughout our lives. We don’t want our first ever experience of the world to be one of fear. We ideally want it to be in a resonance of love, empowerment and joy.

17:25 –We’re told about so many things we should be afraid of in birth, like the cord being around the neck. Do umbilical cords get wrapped around babies necks? Sure. It’s a pretty common occurrence that is almost never an actual problem.Another very common misconception and out of date practice is not allowing laboring individuals to eat or drink during the process. The fear is that aspiration may occur under the unfortunate circumstance of an emergency c-section. This isn’t a common enough occurrence for it to be a standard practice. Especially when we have the research to prove that lite eating and drinking is helpful in maintaining stamina and energy levels. Particularly with certain foods like hydrating fruit. We don’t want to blame anyone for poor standard practices, as the doctors and hospital staff are simply a product of the system themselves. Schools train these individuals with a mindset of attempting to control any potential problems before they arise. Unfortunately, when you’re always looking for problems, you will find them even when there are none.

Obstetricians aren’t trained in normal birth. They’re trained to manage complicated births. Most don’t know what a normal birth really looks like and we have to be informed on what’s normal so that we can properly identify when something isn’t. Not to say that their skills aren’t hugely useful when they’re needed. We’re very fortunate to have them available when we truly need them.Another misconception is that breech babies are a dangerous birth factor that almost always automatically signs you up for a c-section. This is based on a faulty study that took off despite being inaccurate.

25:20 –The nocebo effect is similar to the placebo effect. Whereas the placebo effect occurs via nothing more than the power of suggestion, the nocebo effect is when you cause a problem because you were looking for a problem to exist where it didn’t.This is a common thing that happens during prenatal care. We spend so much time looking for problems despite any evidence of there being a problem present. Problems in pregnancy skyrocketed once we introduced ultrasounds a testing as a standard.

If you find yourself in a position of being told something is wrong, you almost always have plenty of time to do your own research, explore your options and get a second or even third opinion. Trust your gut and be honest with your provider about your concerns and what you desire. You can usually read whether or not they’re supportive of what you want and if they truly are looking out for your best interests or trying to corral you into unneeded interventions. Bullying in this system by the doctors and staff is unfortunately very common. Know your rights. They work for you.

33:15 –“Big baby” is a common fear tactic that doctor’s use to control the narrative in the labor and delivery process. So many pregnant people are told that they’re baby is “too big” and that they’re going to have to be induced and it’s simply not a thing that’s true. Our bodies are built to be able to birth what we would consider a big baby and in the majority of cases this is not something to be concerned with. Are there exceptions? Always. The truth of the matter is though, that we can’t accurately predict how big a baby is going to be. Most weight guesses (and that’s all they are, is guesses) are based off of length of the baby, which can be measured via ultrasound. Length does not translate into weight, though and perhaps your baby is just on the “taller” end.

Gestational diabetes has it’s own problems in this system. We shouldn’t be giving pregnant people this sugary drink across the board with zero discernment for their blood sugar history. We discuss my own history with hypoglycemia and how this test should have never been given to someone with my health background. We cannot treat every ‘patient’ with the same across the board standards. We aren’t given any advice on how to manage our health through healthy habits, lifestyle or food intake. Everything is managed through medication and procedures even though most would benefit hugely by simply making some changes to their diet.
41:50 –A twin pregnancy automatically signs you up for a c-section for no reason other than it generally being an unfamiliar territory for your doctor. Twins can be nonproblematically born vaginally.

I was trained as a midwife, beginning with a 4 year apprenticeship and eventually serving in the role of Licensed Midwife (Arizona). I outgrew that in 2012, returning my license to the State and following my Soul into the undefined world of spiritual birth guidance with the bonus of having midwifery skills and experience.I maintained the CPM credential from 2009-2023 but became disillusioned and non aligned with this organization (and any organization that seeks to control birth and midwives) and gave this one back as well. After 15 years of serving women at home, I continue to do this in Hawai’i but for the most resonant and aligned women that see birth and motherhood as sacred initiations and desire a knowledgeable witness as their guide. https://indiebirth.org/

Tech Won't Save Us; Better World Building With Endeavorance

Tech Won't Save Us; Better World Building With Endeavorance
Beginning –Marketing is hard. How do you elevator pitch adhd led content when it is, by nature, seemingly all over the place. We landed on focusing on a vibe rather than a specific topic. We often fall into the traps of denial when dealing with our own problems. Instead of admitting we may need help with something, we sometimes write it off as an obvious solution we “just need to implement”. We also tend to tell ourselves stories about how certain diagnosis don’t apply to us. Not because we’re “too special” but because we don’t feel worthy of the title of the diagnosis.

Many adults who are only just now finding out that they have a neurodivergent diagnosis struggle with acceptance of it because of deeply rooted beliefs about ourselves and fear of claiming a diagnosis that may not be ours to claim, regardless of the evidence we’re presented.

Navigating an adult diagnosis of neurodivergence can be a process. Between learning to accept the title, realizing you’ve been masking your entire life and navigating the self discovery process from here on out, it can feel both as if your world has been flipped into something new and relief at finally understanding the problems you’ve always dealt with.

Moving forward to navigate the world without “a mask” can be tantalizing and takes a lot of confidence. Many neurodivergent people have created their masks as a form of self protection because the world very quickly teaches us that being ourselves isn’t safe.

This isn’t something only neurodivergent people have to deal with but it is a large part of the neurodivergent experience.Finding the courage to take the mask off and present ourselves authentically to the world is scary, no matter your neuro-wiring. Being diagnosed as an adult often means we’re taking the mask off in front of ourselves for the first time which is an intriguing yet disorienting process of self discovery.

Self discovery in and of itself, regardless of neuro-wiring, is a spiral. You always find yourself circling back in on things that you were previously into and enjoyed. It’s important to remember that the spiral isn’t flat. It can sometimes feel as though we’re running in place but we are going somewhere.
11:10 –Tech can be crazy helpful as a tool and make our lives a lot easier. Unfortunately, much of the tech world is ran with the goal of pure optimization in mind, taking the human aspect out of it. There’s something powerful in being able to control tech that gives you a feeling of indescribable satisfaction. Especially when you can create with it.There’s a default “ick” factor to marketing which makes it that much harder for well meaning entrepreneurs to do well in it. So many people are out here on the internet with no other goals that trying to sell and make money and it becomes hard to market yourself when that’s not your goal. Nearly every website has an ulterior motive.

(https://endeavorance.camp/create) for free creator resources on recording, editing and streaming. Being a creator is becoming an increasingly hostile environment online. Most online things are half baked because no one cares anymore. The vast majority of the online interface is owned and ran by the same big tech companies. What’s frustrating is that their websites and apps are stitched together in a nightmarish way that someone with little more than myspace coding experience could do a better job at.

Manu of these tech companies are playing the short game rather than the long game which is detrimental to our society because they’re so large they have an incredible impact on everyone’s daily lives. These companies have successfully trained people to stay in their app to such a degree that an alarming amount of people don’t know how to operate the internet outside of their main apps.

This frameset keeps everyone contained to the miniscule environments in the fenced off corner of the internet that is each app. The internet as a whole wasn’t created this way. It was by default an open system. ActivityPub has given us an alternative which allows the connection of various apps that allow the integration of it to communicate with one another. This keeps it open environment, with no fences. Mastedon is the most famous app for this but the whole is called the Fediverse.

This is what internet freedom looks like. When you can post something on one platform and all other platforms receive and display it indiscriminately. This would/does release creators of the need to post the same piece of content across multiple platforms. If it exists on one, it exists by default on the others. No more taking the same video and manually posting it across all apps individually. To create a better world for us all we have to continue to vote for the world we want through our energy, attention and interaction. Bringing the people together to discuss what we do want and where we’re going wrong is how we build something better for us all. There’s different sides to each platform based on a carefully tailored feed of the individual in question and most of it is contradicting. On the same platform, one person will be fed content that reaffirms the doom and gloom of the world whereas another person will be fed sunshine, rainbows and progress. This is the algorithm. It’s designed to feed you exactly what you expect to see and engage with the most and it is really good at it.

Each platform does this and it’s manipulative and ethically problematic. The technology of social media has the power to either unite or divide us which can mean the collapse or the savior of society. This power is unquestionable and instead of being concerned with the future of humanity, dollar signs are often times the only factor being considered by those controlling it.Go talk to your neighbor. Focus on community building not only online but in the real world too.

Shamanic Connections to Neurodiversity with Andra Dediu

Shamanic Connections to Neurodiversity with Andra Dediu
Beginning –There hasn’t been any research on it but having mystic experiences seem to run in families. We’ve only just started to become comfortable with researching spirituality and mysticism from a scientific point of view. Quantum physics has really helped us to bridge the gap between the two.For centuries we’ve sectioned off life into the separate categories of science and spirituality when in reality, they’ve always been two sides of the same coin. It’s only ever been our bias understanding of the world that’s kept them opposed.

Mindfulness and meditation has brought us to more understanding of altered states such as those historically revered in shamanism. We’ve opened the door to more evidence and understanding of these states which has allowed us to ask more questions revolving around the state of reality. The old paradigm laughed anything “woo-woo” right out of academia but the new paradigm is beginning to question if there may actually be substance to previously thought “crazy” experiences and beliefs.

There’s a theory amongst some that suggests those with “disorders” such as schizophrenia or dementia may be a result of having “one foot” in the physical realm and the other in the spiritual realm. These individuals may simply be hyper aware of and able to exist in both planes more easily than most.

6:40 –There are tribes that we’ve studied that still live the same way they did thousands of years ago and they take these individuals that wouldn’t fair well in our society and train them to be shamans. These people who we would label as having a mental disorder are seen in these tribes as having gifts for the unseen and ethereal and thrive as shamans and healers in their village. It’s a beautiful thing that these tribes are able to recognize people’s differences and find a place for the ones that are “different” in a way that not simply placates them but makes them a highly respected and functional member of their communities.

This is conducive in not only primitive tribes but other cultures as well. We call it monophasic versus polyphasic. A monophasic culture would be what is present in the dominant mainstream western way of thinking where only one mind state, the waking mind state, is respected as what is “normal” or “correct”. Whereas the before mentioned tribes and cultures would be seen as polyphasic, meaning they respect multiple mind states.Monophasic mindsets alienate altered states and experiences as being a sign of disease or trouble. Leaving people who experience these to be labeled with mental disorders and cast aside with medication and little to no help or support. Many people with some of these more extreme cases end up homeless because our world has no place for them.
13:40 –When someone has what we’re referring to here as a “spiritual emergency” they are often times met with no help, understanding or support. These individuals are generally hard pressed to self stabilize long enough to find answers for themselves, assuming they have the capacity to even do so.

Most of the time all we need is a little bit of validation and support. Simple things like a grounding practice, meditation to find acceptance and peace, banish the fear surrounding it can really help to stabilize the experiences. There’s a reason people have continued to talk about these things for thousands of years. There’s too many similarities across the board between people who have never crossed paths to dismiss these things as not having some sort of leg to stand on.Many people who fall into these categories become healers in some way.

Being a human is already overwhelmingly hard and dramatic. You get to choose your beliefs and regardless of whether or not you have any religion or scientific proof to back up these beliefs, all that should matter is whether they help make life a little bit easier for you or not. Do they bring you comfort, peace, joy, purpose or anything that makes life easier? That’s what matters most.

25:30 –You don’t have to accept any label that’s placed on you. We tend to pathologize the human experience which is often times very detrimental to our own power. Most of these labels have the word “disorder” tied to them which makes us feel weak and like a victim. We can only experience and see through our senses a very small sliver of what we know is going on around us. One of the theories on psychedelics is that they open our senses up to be able to experience more of these. Meditation, sensory deprivation tanks and some sounds can also open us up to these experiences.
Government files have been declassified and released over recent years that says they’ve been studying various phenomenon for decades. So there’s obviously enough science there to have the governments interested. The observer effect in the double slit experiment is something that was discovered in the field of quantum physics back in 1801. This is a phenomenon that has proved we, ourselves can change the results of things based on our own beliefs simply by observing the experiment in question. In the double slit experiment, light was discovered to be both a particle and a wave, based on whether or not someone was looking.

When no one was looking, the light behaved like a wave and left wave mark patterns on the medium it was being shown at. When someone was looking, it acted like a particle. It was observed interfering with itself in ways that still don’t make sense to us today. This study turned a lot of things on it’s head for us and made way for previously laughed at ideas to be taken more seriously.

This phenomenon being the closest proof we have to the law of attraction, both proves and disproves itself based on the beliefs one holds about it. If you believe it to be real, you will find evidence of it’s validity. Whereas if you belief it to be poppycock, then that’s exactly the supporting evidence you will find.

38:20 –Rupert Sheldrake, PhD, is a biologist and author best known for his hypothesis of morphic resonance. At Cambridge University he worked in developmental biology as a Fellow of Clare College. He was Principal Plant Physiologist at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics in Hyderabad, India. From 2005 to 2010 he was Director of the Perrott-Warrick project for research on unexplained human and animal abilities, funded by Trinity College, Cambridge.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), using science to explain phenomena not previously understood, harnessing the best of the rational mind to make advances that further our knowledge and enhance our human experience.

Everyone is capable of these experiences through various methods if you’re interested in exploring them. Just be sure that you’re doing so responsibly. Everything has a shadow side and so please do your research and know what you’re walking into with whatever you decide. It’s a bit of a toss up whether you’re experience will be terrible or magnificent but it is almost always life changing.

The internet has connected us and brought us the opportunity to make our own decisions based on our own research. We are no longer subject to whatever the lawmakers and government scientists tell us is truth. The majority of us have the means to do our own research and make our own judgements.Cognitive dissonance holds us back from progress more than anything.
Fortunately, those who hold the most steadfast beliefs contrary to evidence based science will age out of their positions. The only constant is change. Old paradigms run their course to be replaced with newer ones.Don’t beat yourself up if you find yourself falling into this from time to time and try not to hate your elders. It’s a natural, normal human trait, or shall we say “phenomenon”.

Breaking Down Patterns of Stress & Worthiness with Ellen Patricia

Breaking Down Patterns of Stress & Worthiness with Ellen Patricia

    Beginning –
Business owners, especially online, are really pressured to find a singular niche and stick with it. This can be a lot of pressure because our businesses are an extension of who we are and people aren’t easily boxable. For your business to be successful you have to be happy to work on it every single day for hours at a time and it’s hard trying to find a single thing you’re happy to do that much, that often. It’s a delicate dance because in order to effectively market your business, you have to have clarity. If you aren’t sure what you’re doing or offering, neither is your audience and potential clientele / costumers.

Eastern values versus Western values. Eastern values harmony and balance and not so much authenticity or individuality the way Western culture does. Eastern culture is more focused on the whole rather than the individual so everyone’s a lot more keen to pitch in and fill in the spaces of where they’re needed. In the western world, we’re so focused on the individual that we’ve lost sight of the whole and as a result we all suffer for it.The most important thing is to be harmony with yourself. If you are in harmony with yourself, you can spread that peace, ease and joy with others but if you are in disharmony, you spread that energy to others as well. Thus, a good middle balance of focus on the self and the whole is probably best.

7:00 –Work life balance means figuring out how you best function so that you can actively honor that natural energy flow and give your business what it needs to thrive. Entrepreneurs are notorious for working themselves into the ground but since your business is a representation of yourself, if you’re burning yourself out, that’s the energy will show through.

It’s okay to break away from the schedule that the mainstream culture would have you believe you’re “supposed” to be on. If you work best at night after dedicating your morning and day to yourself and your family, it’s okay to honor that.Finding clarity means taking a look at your values and formulating your business around those. Most often we think our goals are centered around material things (money, houses, cars, etc) but when we take the time to look deeper we find that they’re more abstract. What we really want is to be able to care for and spend time with our loved ones and too many of us put that on the backburner while we work on our business.

This becomes a terrible cycle of “waiting until” certain goals are met before you allow yourself the leisure of spending with loved ones when really we can do that first. We don’t have to meet the goals in order to care for, love and spend time with them and when we are meeting those true priorities first, we have more love and energy to put into the work. It’s counter intuitive but it is the best way to structure things. When we get hyper focused on the wrong goals, we make poor decisions in an effort to meet those goals. This can cause deterioration in our health, relationships or even put ourselves in danger.

15:55 –Psychosomatic illnesses are most often caused by stress. To learn how to manage her own stress, our guest put more stress on herself by going back to school to get a second master’s degree in counseling which of course didn’t help her problems. The patterns that were causing her stress were still at play.Knowing and implementing are two very different things. If you put into practice that which you’re learning, you unlock all sorts of new knowledge on the subject that you can’t get from a book or any other learning material.

Most often, our beliefs and our self worth are what is causing our stress. The beliefs that have been put on us by others about what we should or shouldn’t be doing and how those things effect our worthiness. We work ourselves to death to meet achievements in order to feel as though we’re “good enough”.We have to find other, easier ways to feel like we’re enough and stop quantifying it based on our productivity and achievements. We have to individually define what is enough for us, outside and independent of how others feel about it.

The beliefs of having to achieve certain goals in order to be enough is something that’s passed down to us from our caregivers who also had that belief passed onto them from their own. This perpetuation becomes part of our culture where most everyone around us believes it to be true. So then we’re all stuck with these same wounds and if we decide to break out of those perpetuated patterns other’s make it harder by questioning our decisions and attempting to reign us back in.

26:20 –All the money and “success” in the world isn’t worth anything if it costs you your health, your relationships or you have no available time to enjoy it.Women are generally seen as the nurturers and fall into the demanding role of caregiver often at the cost of their own needs in order to meet this role. We have to remember that the caregiver is just as important the one(s) being cared for and making sure that they also are cared for.Choosing to change your patterns is hard. Staying in your patterns is hard. Everything is hard. Choose your hard. Life is a constant trade off of hard.

The patterns of discord are always the same. You do eventually find the end of the list of things people are upset with you about when you begin choosing yourself. It may seem like new conflict but it’s the same conflict with a new mask on is all. This is great because you’re not constantly having to figure out how to navigate a new problem. It’s generally the same underlying problem over and over again, framed differently.

32:25 –Sometimes you have setbacks. You’ll be doing really well holding your boundaries and priorities and then something will happen that sets you back for a bit. It’s important to hold compassion for yourself in these moments because setbacks are normal. Maintain awareness of the pattern and do your best to get yourself back on track. We don’t understand what the problem is until we dissect and analyze it. That’s what the inner work is that people are always talking about. Being aware of your own patterns helps you to navigate them when they pop back up because they will always pop back up. They will, though, become easier and quicker to navigate and manage as you practice.

People will really confuse you about yourself and your needs and decisions. We’re wired for external validation and when people begin putting their thoughts and opinions on you, and they will, it makes you question yourself. We have to learn how to flip the external validation needs into internal validation.Journaling and other forms of note taking helps you to map out what you’re doing and thinking so that when you do get confused you can come back and look at the organized thoughts about it and make sense of it.
External validation sets us back from the progress we could be making. You’re better off not even sharing your thoughts and plans with others because so many of them will try and talk you out of it based on their own programming and beliefs. Validate yourself in your goals. The spiral of progress uncovers layers. So even though it may be the same issue popping up yet again, it’s going to help you dig it deeper out of your subconscious so it can impact you less and less as time goes on. You’re still moving forward. It’s unrealistic to expect the journey to be linear.
44:05 –Until the internet, the only information and knowledge we were privy to was that which existed in the minds and books of those in our hometown. Books aren’t always accurate and people’s knowledge is often confused and bias. We’re finding new language to make these things more easily understood and the internet has made them more accessible. What works for you now may not work for you later so it’s important to allow the flexibility and malleability of life to transform if it needs to. Don’t get caught in the trap of thinking that changing things up a little means you’re being inconsistent. The very nature of life is constant change. Without the allowance of adaptability and pivoting, we become stagnant in our progress making. Many of us want to beat ourselves up for what we see as inconsistency because we didn’t meet our goals for the day when our only crime is being only one person. We can set intentions and hopes for the day but we can’t always ensure that the day unfolds to allow for those things. Sometimes our attention and energy is needed elsewhere and that’s okay. We simply pick back up the next day.We have to reparent ourself through things. Think of yourself as a child and then give yourself the advice, comfort and nurturing love that a good parent would. Especially when you’re having big emotions or beating yourself up about being human. AssuranceBy William Stafford

How to Reprogram Your Genes Using Meditation with Dr Dawson Church, PhD

How to Reprogram Your Genes Using Meditation with Dr Dawson Church, PhD
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

Beginning –Quantifying the “woo-woo” with statistics that show the effects of things like energy medicine, meditation and mindfulness having a significant impact on the mind and body. These practices have been shown to decrease struggles with problems like pain, anxiety, depression, trauma and more. Studies on EFT that show off the chart results.

How these alternative practices have an effect on things that we previously thought we had no control over like gene expression. Better immunity, lower levels of inflammation in the body, 60% decrease in PTSD symptoms, neuroplasticity. The three most effective kinds of meditation is community, intensity and compassion. Meditations that draw you into positive emotions like gratitude, joy, love and compassion for others trigger gene expression quicker than other forms.

You don’t need any time to dedicate to your meditation practice. You can easily work it into the spaces between the tasks of your everyday life. Meditation is simply controlling your thoughts rather than having them run ramped. We can practice this anytime we think about it whether it’s in the shower, in the car, cooking dinner or when we lay down to sleep at night.

The goal of meditation is not to learn to be good at meditating. The goal of meditation is to learn how to be in a meditative state in your everyday life.

9:55 –Meditation is all just emotional regulation. Imagine where we would all be if we were taught as a child how to do that. Meditation creates more neural connections in the centers of the brain where we need them. Whatever we focus on is where these connections are made and strengthened.

We all know people who are always looking for the next thing to upset them. This constant focus on the negative increases the strength of the areas responsible for them. If we’re always activating these stressors, we’re doing damage to our bodies.

Higher levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) results in lowered immune systems, reduced muscle mass and bone density, poor memory and learning skills, reduced skin elasticity, you age faster and have a shorter life span, have an increased risk of cancer, heart disease and other health concerns and diseases. Uncontrolled emotions are literally killing us, deteriorating our cells and bodily functions and making it impossibly hard for our systems to repair and heal anything.

Stress management is the number one thing we should be focusing on. After we get our emotions and stress levels in check, there’s not a ton more we need to do to heal mental, emotional and physical concerns.

11:30 –Emotional regulation is the first step, the 2nd step is focused awareness. The prefrontal cortex is responsible for self obsession. Monks and nuns don’t have that focus. They’re focus lies on others and the divine. Their prefrontal cortex of the “me and mine” is very quiet.

We’re naturally inclined to be self centered and it takes “training” the mind in order to switch the focus from a “me” to a “we”. Being aware of this can help you recognize it in yourself and those around you which can begin to improve your relationships.

“Forgiveness” is a word that triggers most people. They don’t want to try and analyze the situation to look at things from the other person’s perspective. They want to throw walls of hate up and never think about it or look at it again. Most people aren’t trying to act with ill intent. Most people are trying their best with what they have available.

19:20 –Meditation helps us learn how to slow things down and pause so that we can respond rather than react. You don’t forgive others for them. You forgive them for yourself. Holding those who have done you wrong in heart centered compassion lowers your stress levels and therefore the damage the turmoil is doing to you. When we’re children, we have very little control over the happenings around us. When we become an adult, we have more power over the control. People who have a history of childhood trauma through abuse, neglect, or other, have higher rates of cancer, heart disease, obesity, all kinds of illnesses.

Reparenting the self means taking the stance of the adult and deciding to go within and do the work to heal the inner child. It means choosing to release the baggage you’ve been carrying around with you that not only makes you heavy, which holds you back and makes happiness hard to find but also effects every relationship you have in your life.

Relationships go far beyond the relationships you have with yourself and people. Our unhealed baggage effects our relationships with food, with money, with our career, literally everything in our lives. It takes up energy to carry it around and once we release it, we free up the energy channels to be able to work on these relationships in a healthy way.

26:20 –Delta and theta are the two primary brain waves we experience in the first 5 years of life. Delta is the brain wave of deep sleep. Theta is the dreaming state. They’re also the states of trance, super learning and altered states.Thoughts trigger genes. Every time you repeat a stressful story, your body reacts as though the situation is occurring again. They’ve put groups of meditators and even monks in cities and observed the crime rates in those cities drop. Meditation heals the individual and the world.Trauma is passed through our genetics to our children. So we have whole groups of people who struggle with the effects of trauma that they themselves didn’t even experience. Ancestral healing can help with some of these things. We can measure your energy field up to 15 feet away from your body.

40:10 –Are there tons of problems in the world? Yes. But overwhelming amounts of studies show that the world is improving and we’re currently living in a point of history that’s better for the majority of the people on the planet than it has ever been. Again, we’re not saying there aren’t tons of issues still and for sure there are a lot of people in the world who suffer everyday.

We’re hardwired to pay more attention to the negative because historically, it kept us alive to put our focus on the things we didn’t want. Mainstream media is a business and plays on this wiring to their favor. Therefore, they use all of the bad things in the world to keep us engaged and their numbers up. It’s not profitable for them to show us or tell us about all of the good and improvement the world is seeing.

This constant bombardment of the bad in the world makes it feel as though things are worsening. Which can really amp up our stress and anxiety levels and distract us even further from the building of our own peace and happiness. Both of which have to be intentionally built. You’re not just going to stumble across either. You have to choose to focus on the positive.

Clearing Energy in Order to Heal with Sheree Buckman

Clearing Energy in Order to Heal with Sheree Buckman
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

Beginning –Discussing Sheree’s podcast and how it got it’s name “About Healing”. Divine alignment and universe led “knowing”.

5:00 –We are a human but we are also a spirit. When one aspect of ourselves is out of alignment, so are the other aspects of ourselves. It starts in the spiritual – emotional realm and then manifests as ailments in the physical body.

The chakras help us to pinpoint what emotional issue is spurring the physical problem. For example, a head cold is linked to the third eye chakra and may be a result of doubting one’s decisions, lost trust in one’s self or others, and other 3rd eye key points. A cough is connected to the heart chakra and may be a result of a heartbreak in some way. A bladder infection may be an instability in the root chakra.
Self awareness is the key to helping yourself and those around you. For so long we’ve been taught to ignore our emotions. The more we suppress our emotions, the more out of alignment we are. When we don’t take the time to check in with ourselves and care for our needs, these suppressed energies force us to slow down and address the issues with illness. Slowing down enough to do this has become harder for us with our modern culture that prioritizes and glorifies the hustle and productivity over rest.

10:35 –Creating balance in your life is hard even when you’re aware of it and consciously working towards it. We have to learn how to delegate and ask for help when things get to be more than we can handle because we don’t want to dance with burnout if we can help it.

Especially those as entrepreneurs and/or spiritual leaders, we feel as though being self sufficient means having to do it all on our own. We don’t like to bother people with our needs. We tend to feel like it’s easier to just push ourselves to our limits rather than ask for help.

Finding balance means having plenty of the “yin” energy in there too. Sometimes taking a nap is the most productive thing we can do for ourselves, our businesses and everyone around us.Many times our need to “go, go, go” stems from external validation and trying to fulfill our sense of worthiness.

16:10 –You have to figure out what works for you. Naps help some, hurt others.Know what your energy quota is. What tasks are worth your time and energy? How much/many of these tasks do you need to accomplish in order to meet your quota and allow yourself to rest?

A lot of our stress is put on us by ourselves. A lot of the chaos in our lives is created by our own energy, whether it involves others or not. Chaotic energy attracts and creates more chaotic energy.

We don’t only pick up on all of the energy around us but we also effect the energy around us. Especially those of us who are energetically and emotionally sensitive people. Alone time is what recharges those of us who are clairsentient.Learning how to create space in your life can give you more energy to do the things in your life that brings you joy. Many clairsentient people find themselves in healing and caregiver roles which are notoriously more demanding and draining. Allowing yourself to find plenty of rest gives you more to give back to others.

22:45 –We cannot do these important lightwork-healer jobs without assistance.Schedule in self care time if that’s what you need to do.The only people who think we’re selfish for prioritizing self care are those who have their own self judgement thoughts projecting them onto us.

Historically, we feared judgement because outcasts didn’t survive. Nowadays, it’s safe to be yourself and follow what you need, be who you want to be and live your life authentically. As children, we begin collecting all of these stories and beliefs that conform ourselves into boxes of safety. We think we can’t XYZ, because someone else did and we didn’t like their outcome so we naturally protect ourselves from the same fate.

30:50 –We are first and foremost, souls. Ego separates after life. There is no “good” and “bad”, everything is just an experience.

We choose to come here in order to have an experience so that we may understand the contrast of things. Choosing opposing lives to understand the difference. We may come into one life as the abuser and we’ll choose our next life to experience the side of the victim.

We do collect trauma though and don’t know what to do with it so we carry it around.Everyone minimizes their own trauma and the trauma of others. Trauma doesn’t have to be this big grand thing that happened. It’s any unresolved emotions you’re carrying around that is taking a toll on your mental or physical wellbeing.

36:20 –In order to thrive, you have to go within yourself and do the hard work required to release false beliefs, unhelpful stories and heal. Learning how to let go of the baggage you’ve been carrying around takes courage, but we’re not born with courage. We have to cultivate it.

We cultivate our courage by living in our truth. By letting go of the expectations, judgements and boxes of others and reclaiming all of the power that we’ve been giving away through people pleasing.

You have to love yourself into healing which means letting go of external validation. You’re the only one who can love yourself into a better reality.

38:00 –The term “lightworker” is anyone who is trying to do good in the world. Not just spiritual “woo-woo” people. Creating peace on Earth happens in layers. War makes no sense. The world is a much safer place for us to live and speak our truth than it was in the past. This safety has given us an opportunity to take our power back from those who had silenced us with their judgements and opinions throughout history.

It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. You don’t have to go out and start a soapbox. The real stuff is finding your voice and truth within your inner circles. Not needing to argue and fight but instead respectfully decline anything that doesn’t feel in alignment with you and your values. There is not a single truth that blankets every human on Earth.

42:55 –With each truth we step into, we’re allowed to shed the thick layers that have been holding us down and back from progress. As we do this, our vibrational frequency rises and relationships that don’t match that frequency may fall away. Others will fall into your orbit though. There’s always an exchange of energy. As some don’t appreciate the work you’re doing here, others will support you on your journey.

Energy is the only language that communicates across the board. Even those who speak the same vernacular can misunderstand one another. Don’t get hung up on words. Focus on the energy behind the words.

People have to choose to heal. We can only heal ourselves. We can’t do it for anyone else. It’s a very good skill to learn to just smile and nod and be unattached to how and what people do, say, believe and choose. Having those boundaries are a form of self care but definitely take a lot of practice for most of us to hold.

Overcoming Fear & Stepping into Your Unfiltered Power With Kirsten Wild

Overcoming Fear & Stepping into Your Unfiltered Power With Kirsten Wild
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

    Beginning –

Discussing Kirsten’s last name “Wild” and how she chose it for herself.

We’re often told as children to “tone it down”, “hush” and all sorts of “make yourself small and quiet” types of things. Reclaiming our inner “wild” means discovering the raw, untamed version of you that is your authentic self.

The word “wild” gets a bad rep for being disruptive, problematic and chaotically rude (amongst many other undesirable terms). Here though, we use it to describe the truest self, free and uncontained by the stifling boxes society and culture work so hard to confine us to.

We are a part of nature and a lot of our problems are caused by the disconnection we’ve created between us and the natural world.

Many of us don’t know how to control our inner ‘wild’ without suppression because suppression is the only tool we’ve ever been given to navigate ourselves and the massive emotions that come with the complexities of being human. This can lead to outbursts, emotional dysregulation, depressive states and even sickness.

    6:35 –

I completely shut down as a child because my neurodivergence created a rift about social settings, interactions and constructs that I just didn’t understand. This had me in trouble constantly and confused at why. Not understanding why everyone was always having such strong reactions to the things I said and did, the only way I could find to keep myself “good” and safe was to be still and quiet.

Embracing your inner wild doesn’t mean causing chaos or doing whatever we want. It means breaking open the locks to the you that was born into this natural world and allowing that version of you to let go of the cage and chains that were placed on you as a child to ‘encourage’ conformity. It’s freeing yourself from the judgements and expectations of others.

Some who may be considered wild are more creating chaos from an unhealed trauma inside of them. True human nature when healed is caring, kind and compassionate. Anything counter to that is coming from an unhealed place within involving a wide variety of possible reasons. Be it personal trauma, generational trauma, or other.

Hurt people, hurt people. Healed people, heal people.

    11:30 –

All we can do is lead by example by working on ourselves. A lot of our discomfort comes from wishing people would be / say / do / choose / etc differently than what they do. Our attachment to the way other people choose to live their lives.

We have to hold our standards to ourselves. It’s a lifelong journey. You can’t really tell anyone anything, especially through anger and force, all you can do is show them. It’s painful for many to know that through living your authentic truth, some people in your life may fall away.

Everyone is a hurt child trying to navigate an impossibly hard existence due to the way the world was created for us.

    13:55 –

    S.H.E.D. method

Many people want to start checking in with themselves but aren’t sure where to begin. Kirsten’s S.H.E.D. method helps you learn how to get started.
    • S – Sensations – Checking in with our physical body
    • H – Heart – Checking in with our emotions today
    • E – Energy – What is our energy level today? Checking in with the breath
    • D – Dialogue – What inner words / thoughts are you having with yourself today?
People get hung up on words but words are a human construct. The universe and our bodies speak in energy which is more a direction of intent. It takes 7 positive interactions to erase 1 negative interaction. When applying this to our bodies, we need to be sure we’re noticing when our bodies feel good. Most of us only pay attention to our bodies when something is wrong and that builds the narrative of having a “bad” body.

You don’t want to label things as “good” or “bad”. Especially when applied to yourself. Nor do we want to berate ourselves for missing the desired mark. We notice it, bring awareness to it and then try again. This repeated effort of “I’ll do better next time” is what all of the work here is. Noticing where you’re falling short of your desired outcomes and then trying again next time.

    21:45 –

Our minds work in 5D, giving us the ability to think about 18 different things simultaneously which can be really overwhelming very quickly. Journaling helps us straighten things out and organize complexities so as to see that things are not as overwhelming as they feel.

Most of our stress is created in our minds. We’ll be stressing over something that we have to do tomorrow and we have to take a pause and look at it with a “Is there anything I can do about it today?” no. “Is stressing about it now helping the situation?” no. Then recalibrating ourselves to more or less forget about it today and focus on the moment at hand. Tomorrow’s problems are for tomorrow’s you.

Journaling helps us to keep track of what works and doesn’t work for us so that when life gets busy and we forget, we can come back to our notes on what helped us in the past.

    31:35 –

We think we don’t have time for things but it’s all about setting our priorities. Knowing our priorities, holding to them and allowing them to be flexible when they need to be.

Spending 3+ hours meditating, practicing yoga, journaling, etc sounds great but it’s not really practical for every day or most people ever. It’s more detrimental to say you’re going to do something and then not following through rather than allowing yourself the flexibility to show up for yourself however that looks today.

Hold the intention of wanting to show up for yourself and then allow the space around nonrigidity for it to come through however it does. If that’s only 5 minutes today, 1 hour tomorrow and then 10 minutes the next then that’s perfectly fine. Work in what you can where you can.

You can have awareness in any moment and that’s all meditation is. Trying your best to make the best decision you can when each arises. Practicing the pause in order to create space to develop the muscle memory of responding rather than reacting.

It’s a practice because the situation and how we react to it will always reoccur but the practice will help us handle the situation a little bit better each time until it’s effecting us very little or not at all. We get better at handling the situation and our emotions tied to it just like practice at anything makes us better.

    42:40 –

The amount of healing we have to do is directly correlated to how old we are. If we’re 30, we have 30 years of crap to sort through. Plus our parents and grandparents ‘crap’ that was passed down to us. Each little thing we heal means less that we pass on to the next generation.

We’re all struggling. Once you really understand that, compassion, forgiveness, understanding, healing, gratitude, etc, insert all of the words, becomes easier and more innate.

We tie our identity to the things that happened to us in the past and we often times live our lives with those damaging stories looming over us every day. Reliving these stories so often reinforces the damage that was done.

Moving on and healing means detaching ourselves from those stories as something that happened to us but not something that defines us. Creating space between your life now and the things that happened to you in the past until they become less and less important. With their diminishing impact, we can learn to live our lives separate from them.

We get to chose who we are in every moment. There is no director of your movie outside of yourself. Have fun with your character. Be someone different every day if you like. Take it to extremes and decide you’re a fairy and go roll around in the meadow by the bubbling brook. Turn into a viking to hit your daily workouts with the fierce power of a warrior.

Literally whatever helps you find peace, happiness and comfort in this mess of a world that is life.

How Martial Arts Transforms Your Everyday Grit With Jeremy Lesniak

How Martial Arts Transforms Your Everyday Grit With Jeremy Lesniak
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

Martial arts has a variety of benefits that extend outside of the physical fitness and self defense.

Bullying is discussed in regards to both the school system and in the dojo. All kids need different things to thrive. “The same boiling water that softens the potato, hardens the egg”

12:00 –How martial arts helps to develop the understanding of boundaries.Boundaries around discipline. Discipline is how you get good at anything. Sticking it out and allowing yourself the time and space to grow into whatever role in question.

We get bored with the small daily mundane things that compound into eventually meeting your goals. We’re told to do this one small thing 800 times and we don’t feel as though we’re getting anything out of it and then one day something clicks and you realize you’ve leveled up into something different.

This translates across our lives, just as the martial artist has to do the same kick 3,000x to master it, so do we have to show up to all categories of our lives that many times to truly get what we want out of it.

A 1% change every day is a 365% change in a year. “More if you compound that interest.” In the beginning it looks like you’re not evening moving. Most often, we notice benefits in hindsight of what we’ve been doing.

17:45 –Yoga and martial arts have a lot of cross factors. They both teach us lessons we can take out of the studio. For example, if you can allow yourself to sit in a stretch or pose you hate for several minutes, or do 300 kicks in a row, it makes other things in life easier to handle. Suddenly, waiting in lines hurts less. Having patience at work or in traffic is easier.

We tend to over estimate what we can do in a year and under estimate what we can do in 5, 10, 20 years. The average timeframe for a successful anything is 10 years.

Martial arts gives us a means to get in touch with ourselves and our limits. It allows us to learn our boundaries, our bodies and what we’re capable of while giving us an outlet for anger and aggression.

    25:45 –

Movement and wrestling is instinctual and we’re taught to suppress it in schools as children. We mask this urge with food, video games or other things until we become adults who then don’t know how to get back in touch with it.

Just as animal cubs wrestle to build bonds, explore their own limits and establish an understanding of who one another is, we also need these tools.

Physical movement and exercise helps our mental health by getting us out of our own heads and into our bodies. Most of the problems we have in our lives are created in our own heads and not even real.

30:50 –Healthy competition helps you to push yourself to the next level of growth. There is definitely competition out there that is unhealthy and gets taken too far.

How you do anything is how you do everything. There are no shortcuts. You have to work for what you want. Often we spend too much time looking for shortcuts where there are none when we could have spent that time making progress.

You can’t get clean enough to never have to take a shower ever again. There’s no meal you can make to never have to eat again. Some things just have to be done over and over.

Some people torture themselves in a cold shower for the sake of the benefits. Others torture themselves with learning to cook for the sake of the benefits. You have to decide what you want, what benefits you’re looking for and start. There’s probably going to be a certain amount of torture to it.

36:15 –There’s a huge overlap with people who are into martial arts having their own business. It teaches you the discipline you need to do the things that aren’t fun or comfortable that get you the results in the end.

There are no secrets. There’s really only 10-20 basics to anything you want to do once you get in there and figure it out. Mastering those basics is all you have to do to succeed. There’s always a deeper level to the basics you think you already understand.

You have to figure out where your lane is and what seemingly mundane and boring tasks you’re happy to do every single day to build your own success in what it is you want to do/have/be.

You may have to try a few martial arts forms out before you find the one that’s for you. Tailor it to fit you, your body and your schedule. It is an art form which means it’s malleable.

You have to hang out with people who have the same goals as you for a lot of reasons. People with the same goals understand the struggles and hurtles of the goals. They’re great to bounce ideas off of, help troubleshoot and collaborate with. It’s also great motivation, inspiration and encouragement.

The culture in many business communities is to “fake it till you make it”. Which can put a lot of unnecessary pressure on someone struggling because it “LOOKS” like all of your peers have everything figured out when they’re really just putting on a front.

It can be really difficult to know how someone’s business is REALLY doing and this hiding from the truth between peers can create more divides in an opportunity with the potential to help both parties if honesty is had.

People only see bits and pieces of what you have and what you’re putting out there. Even when you’re being completely transparent, most people aren’t examining every post you have extensively. They may see the post but miss the caption. They may have not logged on in months and are now jumping to conclusions off a single post.

K.I.S.S. : Keep it simple, stupid. The more complex your business, the more tasks are required in that and if it’s only you, overwhelm creeps up QUICKLY.

Our business is an extension of ourselves. It’s a very personal and intimate thing that grows from us. Often times, we wrongly conclude that adding more and doing more will fix our problems when really we need to do less.

    13:10 –

So many of us fall into that “not enough-ness” that comes from the external validation that was withheld as children by our caregivers, society and culture. This makes us work ourselves into the ground at the cost of our own health in an effort to prove our worthiness.

Inflation really puts the pressure on your business to do more, which usually always translates into us, the business owner, doing more. We do more in the hopes that we’ll eventually be able to do less but this is a trap.

The art of surrender. If you’re not inspired by your content, neither is your audience. Marketing is hard.

    24:45 –

You can’t compare yourself to someone who’s been working on their business for years longer that you have.

The health of your business directly correlates to your own health. You have to do the math to find what you should be charging. How much money do you need to make sure your needs are met cross referenced with how much time you have available to give to what aspects.

Learning how to prioritize your time so that you can be inspired means that your content will become inspiring which then turns into marketing which then brings people in for your services and products. It’s a loop in on itself.

Doing more doesn’t support this loop because that’s an imbalance of yang energy. To find balance, you have to make sure you have enough yin energy in there too.

You have to prioritize your time and if that means letting some things go for a little while so that you can be present at your kid’s softball game then that’s okay to do so. We all have to figure out where our priorities and values lie and then find acceptance in what we’re willing to trade that for.Make your business fit your life and schedule.

    38:00 –

Allow it to be fun. Make up your own rules. The happier you are in it, the better it will do with the audience because good, healthy positive energy is what your business is going to radiate. Utilize the law of attraction. You get back the ENERGY you put out. Hustle and hardship breeds just that.

We spend a lot of time telling ourselves what we’re “supposed” to be, have and do when we don’t even wanna do, have or be those things. Instead, allow your emotional guidance system lead you.

If you’re honest about your problems with those around you, they tend to be much easier worked out. People are really forgiving and helpful if you’re trying and they can see that.

Affirmations don’t mean lying about the reality of things. The more you share, the more relatable you are. Be yourself. Show up as whatever version you are today. We don’t need to be polished and refined. Life is messy and as an extension of ourselves, business is messy.Business legalities can be scary. Don’t let them hold you back.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) helps us to release stuck energy. It’s a tapping technique that, through tapping certain points on our body, we can help old stored emotions to move through and out of our bodies instead of remaining stagnant and causing us problems.

EFT works with the meridian points the same way acupuncture and acupressure does. Tapping in these certain points signals the brain to release the “fight, flight, freeze, fawn” response. It works for not only emotional release but also for fears and phobias. It can be useful in helping to ease the repercussions of trauma and PTSD.

EFT is also useful to help us reformulate our mindset and belief system into something more helpful. We’re all pretty well understanding these days that from the beginning of our life we’re constantly being programmed by society, culture, people and situations and circumstances in our lives. These programs are often not very helpful and reprogramming can prove to be difficult.

The relation of EFT to stemming. Both of which help us to regulate the nervous system. When paired with affirmations, EFT can be super helpful.

How other countries and cultures have day to day set up more efficiently than we do here in the states. Everything seems to be more family oriented to meet everyone’s needs of food, upkeep and various facets of health. The day to day basics of what needs to be done for survival is too much for any one person to maintain. Life is a team sport. Everything is meant to be a group effort. Please please please don’t beat yourself up if you struggle with basic daily tasks. It’s a losing battle for any one person under the best of circumstances.

Spain formulates their days so that everyone in the family is on the same schedule. They share in the responsibilities of daily meals and break up the work and school days to allow for rest and family time. The work culture in Germany and China are also discussed in comparison to the U.S.

Many other cultures are more understanding and integrative with children. The standard until recently in the states is that children are to be seen not heard or even in many cases, not even seen. Women are seen as problematic in the workforce because of children. These things have/are shifting thankfully but it’s very new.Maternity leave is much better in most other developed countries.

How to Shift Timelines With Lucy Byrd Hope

How to Shift Timelines With Lucy Byrd Hope
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

    Beginning –

Lucy’s back story of creating a healthy beverage company, publishing her book and becoming certified in reiki. The best developments we could make always find us and are birthed out of a personal need.

Mental / emotional pain breeds physical pain.Newtonian logic is what we have in the western world which has us section off pieces of ourselves in an effort to understand what’s going on. The Eastern world is built more off of paradoxical logic which is more circular rather than it’s linear Newtonian counterpart.

The Eastern world has a better understanding of things as a whole whereas westerners have a difficult time understanding how emotions would cause a physical ailment. The layers of the body are embedded into one another, i.e. the mental, the physical, the aura, and more. They’re only perceived as separate now as we understand them but they’re existing simultaneously in the same location as one another. There is no separation.

“Dis-Ease” in our mental /emotional state trickles into our physical bodies and causes disease. E-motion: Energy in motion. Words are great.

Language is powerful. Words are vibrational frequencies putting into action our intentions, our affirmations and our way of manifesting our reality. Words are our magick spells. We perpetuate what we focus on. We have to be careful of the line between venting and taking responsibility for the perpetuation of despair.

    12:52 –

There’s a delicate balance between releasing what energy is being stored within you and then pivoting and blending. Noticing what doesn’t serve you and then turning in ANY other direction, reintegrating yourself and moving forward.

It’s important to note what isn’t working for you so that you can find a different direction that is better but we have to be careful not to get stuck on the things we’re noticing and don’t like.

Neurolinguistics in how we speak to ourselves in our minds. What we’re speaking, we’re resonating with.

Respectfully, nothing matters and it’s all going to burn anyway so yes, absolutely wear the renaissance fair gear to Wal-Mart. There’s a liberation and a freedom in that.

    15:27 –

    Always be trying new things.

A simple breathwork exercise: Inhale new and fresh, exhale old, stagnant and unhelpful. We release the past by bringing in the new. Allowing the past to naturally be swept up in the energy flow of the new things we’re bringing in will help to clear old patterns.

The new things don’t even have to be much, you can change these energies and sweep out the old with things as simple as taking the stairs differently, brushing your teeth differently or sleeping in your bed differently. The new doesn’t have to be elaborate or even pertain to the thing you desire to release. Any pattern disruption will work.Intuitively, to change patterns we all think that we need to “stop doing” the undesired thing in question. Really though, that’s the hard path. A much simpler and easier path to take is to “start doing” anything else. Adding in new things will naturally crowd out the undesired pattern.

    20:24 –

Everything is energy, energy is always flowing and moving. We find the problems when energy becomes stagnant because energy wants to move. Getting the energy moving again can look like exercise or even rearranging furniture. The problem and the solution don’t even have to be related in order for you to feel the difference. We’re all made of trillions of atoms and atoms don’t even touch. Quantum physics really shook up everything we know to be real and very recently. The facts of which are still catching up to the mainstream public.

More unites us than divides us. Especially when we focus on love and compassion.Nothing is boxable. The only way we could have governments and laws that were completely nonproblematic for everyone across the board was if we addressed everything on a case by case basis and we don’t yet have the ability to do that.

There are billions (one per person on the planet) of different realities on this planet, not a single one identical to another. Everyone’s truth will differ across subjects. We can never fully know ANYONE else’s reality. They can tell us about it, but they’re the only ones that will ever be able to watch their complete and full story unfold.

    28:52 –

Not being able to know someone else’s reality and world completely can be liberating. We can use the concept to let go of any control, desires or judgements of any and everyone else and simply “get in our own reality bubble and have a good time.”

You’re going to have the same reality bubble no matter where you go. The energy relationships with everything in your life may morph and look different but they will remain the same underneath. You can’t run from your problems. You have to do the inner work to resolve them. Persistence is what will do it for you.

Frame it as a game because we’re all just children on the inside. You have to cultivate peace, happiness or whatever emotion you want in the moment through sheer will power.

    45:41 –

We get hung up on rock solid words. Energy breaks down the language barriers. Reality, like language is malleable and fluid. The world is not either-or, it’s both-and.

Authenticity Builds Genuine Communities: A Guide to Banishing Loneliness With Carrie Allen

Authenticity Builds Genuine Communities: A Guide to Banishing Loneliness With Carrie Allen
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

    Beginning –

We’re all struggling with mental health. Carrie and I believe that’s largely due to our sectioning off into nuclear families and getting away from the villages we were always meant to live in.

Authenticity is a newer concept. Throughout history, it was important to our survival that the village liked and accepted us. This would lead our loved ones to “correct” and behavior or quirks they found odd or unacceptable. They did this out of love to keep us safe.

Now a days, having quirks is safer. We understand more about one another and are overall more accepting of things we wouldn’t have been hundreds of years ago. It’s also not as dire to be liked as it once was. We’ve built a world that is easier to live in, survival wise, independently. Even if it may leave us lonelier.

Perhaps we needed that separation in order to grow and now we can begin to come back together in a healthy way.

The internet gave us the historically unique ability to find the tribe that fits us best. However, online communities still lack that physical closeness that we still crave in our daily lives.

    9:35 –

Sometimes it’s easier to make friends with a complete stranger than it is with someone you’ve been familiar with for a long period of time. Small home towns have the challenge of judgement and insecurities based on pre-decided ideas of one another.

Moving somewhere else isn’t going to solve our problems or make things easier because we’ll still be living in and playing out the stories we have in our heads about how things are, were and should be.Healing in the same place that hurt you.

    22:30 –

If you can figure out who you are, you can figure out where to insert yourself into your community. Coming full circle where historically both others as well as ourselves censored us in order to fit in, we now want to embrace what makes us individuals. In doing so, we find what makes us happy and being able to happily be involved in the community in a way that feels fun and fulfilling rather than a chore and obligation is how we build strength and bonds with the people around us. This helps us to heal, feel connected and banish loneliness.

Figuring out who you are authentically is easier said than done. It requires experimentation, trial and error and healing to dig yourself out of insecurities and find solidity and confidence in your truth. We have to become ok with the possibility of rejection.

    26:00 –

There may not really be anything such as “introverts” and “extroverts”. What people experience as “Introvertedness” may simply be the exhaustion from masking. Theoretically, everyone is an “extrovert” under the correct circumstances. Socializing is only draining when you’re not being authentic to yourself and others.

Duality does say that we are both of everything. Introvertedness may be a protection mechanism whereas we become extroverted when we feel safe to be ourselves.

    33:30 –

Your most important community is the one within yourself. Cultivate your relationship with you first before you move out and try to connect with others around you. Grounding into your body is a great place to start tuning into who you are.

You have to learn how to slow down and hang out with yourself. Getting out of electronics and looking for external answers and instead exploring your own thoughts, words and actions. Noticing your beliefs and patterns and tracing them back to their origins. What feels good and what doesn’t? Our emotional guidance system is there to lead us but we have to be aware and utilize it from an objective place.

    40:15 –

Cognitive dissonance is the combative nature people fall into naturally when their belief systems are challenged or presented with conflicting information. Our subconscious wants to uphold the reality we’ve created for ourselves so when that vision meets information that threatens to disillusion us from it, we feel as though we’re being attacked and seek to defend what we’ve created.Cognitive dissonance is one of the most challenging aspects of being human and is almost single handedly the cause of conflict. Knowing it exists and being aware when it shows up in both yourself and others can help you to glide around and diffuse arguments as or before they arise.

We’re more aware of “red flags” and toxicity than we ever were and that’s caused us to cut people off more quickly than we ever would have before. We ALL have our issues that need working through though. None of us is perfect, so being too quick to cut people off leaves us with no one but ourselves in a sea of loneliness. We have to learn how to use discernment to find our boundaries. Decide on a case by case plan of action in which cutting contact entirely or sticking it out to work through the relationship is the best course of action. This comes back to knowing yourself and what is a deal breaker for you.

    45:15 –

Root chakra healing as a collective because we become protective not only of ourselves but of our village as well. Our root chakra rules safety and security. The more solid that is, the more understanding, accepting and compassionate we can be for other’s intricacies that in the past we may have felt threatened by.

Boundaries are about keeping things in your life that you want to keep in your life, not about keeping things out of your life. The best example of this is family. Holding boundaries is how you keep your loved ones around without all of the drama and conflict that tends to arise naturally by being in close contact with each other for extended periods of time.Know your triggers so you can plan ahead how to react when they occur.

The Grey Rock method is where you give toxic people nothing when they approach you. No reaction, no energy, as little words as possible. The goal is to become as boring as you can so that they move along from you. Some people feed off of drama and actively seek to create it or rouse it out of us. Don’t play into it.

Medical Astrology: Your Cosmic Blueprint for Health and Well-Being With Eir Atla

Medical Astrology: Your Cosmic Blueprint for Health and Well-Being With Eir Atla
    http://patreon.com/EarthandWater

    Beginning –

Eir shares her story with how she got into medical astrology, starting with her nursing career and then moving into herbalism before finding and integrating medical astrology with her practice as well.

The short comings of the American medical system. We touch on the trauma birth can bring in some cases and my experience with that as a birth doula.

    6:55 –

To read someone’s medical astrology you look at their “planetary health chart” which is their birth chart. We look at the seven main planets, north node, south node and Chiron. Work with Neptune, Uranus and Pluto are limited because they were discovered after medical astrology was established so information on them in this sense is limited.

The planets are the energy influence and then the signs govern the body parts. So pairing the planets with which sign they’re in tells you more or less what’s going on where. The astrological houses tell us a bit too, mainly the 1st, 6th, 8th and 12th houses.

Almost all hormonal issues are created by a nutritional deficit in the body. This may be from an improper diet, an issue with a body function or a problem with absorption of the needed vitamins and minerals. An example is someone having Mars in Virgo may mean they have dry membranes that hinder absorption.

    9:40 –

Astrology is complex and goes much much deeper than your sun sign. Your sun sign is your “life battery”. It gives a good overall picture of your health and what you may have going on where.

Mercury and Uranus rule the electrical and nervous systems, Mercury more so. Which sign these are in can indicate if someone has high anxiety or low anxiety. Gemini and Sagittarius placements can also lend some information on anxiety. Your north node also can increase anxiety depending on where it lands as it gives excess energy to the aspects it’s influencing.Chiron can also point towards anxiety in certain areas since Chiron points us towards the work we have to do and we generally have anxiety around such work.

    16:50 –

The traits from childhood that we carry into adulthood. Chiron in Cancer tends to be a mother wound. You really have to pair physical healing with mental, energetic work as well. So many people aren’t ready for that. They want an herb or something physical that will fix them.

Astrology is another form of information translation just like tarot, archetypes and all other energy systems that attempt to communicate with us. Energy is all the same fractals across the board. Interpreting and understanding it depends on what resonates best with you.

Incorporating the mind and spirit along with healing the body not only often heals the physical ailment but may heal other mental, emotional and environmental aspects effecting quality of life.Instinctually, we know what our bodies need. We do, however, have to learn how to sit quietly and listen to them. Unfortunately, we’re taught that we don’t know our bodies better than a medical expert, nutritionist or whomever. This distrust of ourselves and what we can know about ourselves is instilled in us as a society and culture from a young age.

    29:55 –

Fad diets and how no diet is universal. Different diets are going to work differently for different people. You have to sit with your body and what you eat and figure out what serves your body well and what doesn’t. I have a holistic food journal that helps you to document this but you can just as easily keep your own notes how you wish. Some of us are going to naturally understand the physical communication of our bodies better and others are going to understand the mental/emotional communication better. That’s part of the self exploration and discovery we should all be doing anyway. Each of us is gifted in understanding in a different way but we all have the ability to listen to and communicate with our bodies.

Diets are about embodying the Libra aspects of balance. Finding your balance though is a little bit of a process.Lessening stress is the aim always (especially when you’re talking about energy healing). So anything that increases stress, like strict dieting, is counterproductive to our healing goals. Pisces rules the parasympathetic nervous system so if we’re looking to lessen stress, we want to lean into the Pisces ruled aspects in our chart.

    36:35 –

Spending time in the sun helps balance hormones. 30 minutes a day in the sun is a good starting point to help regulate our bodies. We’re designed to live in tune with nature.Food allergies can also cause anxiety. In the winter, you have to actively seek more sunlight because there’s less of it. This is why seasonal depression is common during this time. Root vegetables can help you during these months as well as they have a grounding energy to them.

Seasonal, local eating helps us get the specific vitamins and nutrients (energy) that we need specifically at the time of year we need it the most. Our needs change throughout the year with the seasons and since our bodies evolved with these cycles, nature naturally provides what’s needed when it’s needed.Seasonal eating is also a lot better for the environment than shipping food all over the world year around.

The Steps to Empowerment with Monique Grover

The Steps to Empowerment with Monique Grover
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

    Beginning –

The family unit and societal conditioning that we’ve all been exposed to, whether helpful or unhelpful. Shedding the unhelpful layers to leave only the thoughts, habits, beliefs, etc that serve us well.Social conditioning generally leaves us in 1 of 2 boxes:
    • The person who falls in line, never questions and may “wake up” later in life realizing they never lived and don’t know who they are.
    • The rebel non conformist who gets looked at in a negative light.
The view points on these 2 types are shifting to a more understanding model. We now know that the “troublemaker kid” probably isn’t trying to give everyone a hard time as much as they’re having a hard time and need some care, love and understanding.

We’re all children parading around as adults with whatever belief systems were given to us as children. When you can see the separation between what was given to you versus what actually resonates with you, growth occurs and you can begin to “parent” yourself. Most often this means giving yourself that which you needed as a child but didn’t receive. This allows you to begin forming yourself into the happiest, highest version of yourself.

    12:40 –

Dissecting what’s considered “trauma”. People understandably get a little touchy on this subject but the energetic point of view is that trauma is anything that goes against your original energy signature and causes harm to that field. If you walk away from the incident, no matter how minor, with a distorted energy field that takes you away from your true self, we’re considering it trauma.

Obviously, varying degrees of trauma are possible. What is traumatic for one may not be for another and the time and work it takes to restore that energy field distortion depends on the level of impact it had on the particular person in question. The first step in healing any of it is awareness.

Emotions become stuck in our body because when the situations that cause them occur, we don’t know how to experience that, process it and allow it to be released. Therefore it becomes stored for later. Emotions like anger or resentment are easier to feel than the pain behind them which leads us to hide behind them.

    16:16 –

Nothing happened “to you”, it’s just what happened. Again, it’s normal to feel the more aggressive emotions and you HAVE to feel them in order to get to the other side of them and release them. It’s up to us to find healthy ways to release them so that we’re not hurting others along the way because that just perpetuates the cycles of pain. You have to get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable since problems occur when we suppress our emotions instead of allowing them to safely and productively play out.

Some people can sit with something once, allow it to be felt and released and be done. Most of us have to hack at it little by little for a while because these things can get DEEPLY imbedded into who we are and touch every facet of our lives. Unraveling it layer by layer is something Monique equated to a spider web. A beautiful and fitting analogy for what we’re discussing.

You have to systemize what works for you so that you know exactly what to do when you’re met with these emotionally charged situations and circumstances or else you’re always going to feel as though you’re drowning. These systems are your tools and can be as structured or as laid back as you like and as what works for you.

    34:27 –

You want to avoid “toxic self care”. An example of this would be crawling into bed for a nap that lasts 3 days. You have to be self aware of these traps so that you can pull yourself out of them.

Avoiding all stuck-ness because energy needs to MOVE. There’s a lot of ways you can get the energy moving, from food to taking a walk.

Shadow work helps with empowerment a lot. We all have yin and yang energy. “Good” and “bad” are a human construct which can make us uncomfortable with the aspects of ourselves that may be labeled as “bad”. Coming to terms with these aspects can help us find empowerment through acceptance and love for even those parts of ourselves that others would have opinions about.

    41:02 –

Empowerment is about finding what resonates with YOU despite the cultural taboos. What’s best for you and what works best for you and standing by that despite other’s opinions.Authenticity is ever evolving. You really only have yourself. Stay hyper aware. That’s the work. We’ll get there.

What is the Science of Reiki With Rajeshwari Rai

What is the Science of Reiki With Rajeshwari Rai
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

    Beginning –

Reiki is an energy healing modality. It helps to put the body into a relaxed state so that the parasympathetic nervous system can better heal our body. These days, most of us are stuck in “hustle” mode, which has our stress responses activated more often than not. When we’re in the “fight, flight, freeze or fawn” response, all healing shuts down. Moving the body into the “rest and digest” response kicks healing back in as a priority to the body.

Reiki can also help you trace back and address some of the past trauma that’s been holding you back from where you want to be. Clearing that out to open you up to a more productive and desired way forward. You have to believe in it for it to work so we cover some of the tangible science behind this otherwise “woo-woo” healing method.

Energy healing gets a bad rep in academia but recent discoveries in quantum physics is tending us to proof of it’s validity. You have to believe in it enough to give it a chance. Might help, won’t hurt.

    12:20 –

Money reiki neutralizes the energy around money so that you are at peace with it whether it’s present or not. This can lead to the attraction of it but that’s not the goal.

Reiki is a lot like tuning a radio station. There are a lot of different types and you can tune into the various types depending on what you need. You can tap into the energy of various archetypes and channel that specific type of energy into and through you.

Increasing the positive, desired energy will allow for the negative, undesired energy to naturally fall away. We discuss how reiki alone is not always enough and working on mindset alone is not always enough but marrying the two gives much better results. There are several energetic bodies within you and addressing several gives you a better chance at remedying the issue within the layer it’s located in.

There are many beneficial practices to pair with reiki to ensure the best outcomes.

    19:32 –

The vast majority of us are brand new at this energy work thing. It wasn’t common until recently, mostly reserved for shamans. It wasn’t widely understood, being mostly faith based. We are beginning to understand the science of it but it’s new and going to take some getting use to and interaction with in order to truly understand it.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and how they relate to the chakras.
Reiki practitioners can “prescribe” you some supporting modalities to help support your healing journey.

When your internet modem goes out and you call the IT person, they tell you to reset it. Meditation and reiki help you to do the same thing to yourself.

    31:53 –

People always have the outlook of “how much healing do I need to do so that I have no more trauma left” but that’s like saying “how much showering do I need to do so that I never have to shower again?” Practicing your tools makes you more effective at “showering”. Especially when you’re hit with rougher “dirtier” spells.

Things have to filter from the energetic body down into the physical body.It can be really hard having loved ones who are struggling, knowing you can help them but they aren’t in a place to receive the help.

The Journey of Self Love & Acceptance With Becca Briggs

The Journey of Self Love & Acceptance With Becca Briggs
    https://www.patreon.com/EarthandWater

    Beginning –
We jump right in discussing her nude modeling career and how it helped her find love and acceptance for her body in a world before body positivity was a heavily talked about subject.

Healing how you feel about yourself when you look in the mirror is different from healing how you feel about yourself in front of other people. They’re really two different directions for healing to go. Dealing with other’s judgements, projections and beliefs on top of trying to learn how to feel good about your body.

You can’t wait “until” anything to be happy or you’ll get there and it still won’t be enough. You have to learn how to love yourself BEFORE you lose weight, fix your teeth or whatever whatever you think is going to make you love yourself more.

    12:08 –
“discovering” or “finding” yourself suggests you were somewhere to be found outside of yourself. You were always there. You just had to realize it. “finding yourself” really just means cleaning out all of the junk that other people, society, culture, etc gave you to reveal the core YOU underneath it all. When you find things that resonate with you, you can allow it to simply be a part of you rather than having it define you.

    15:37 –
Practicing unattachment to everything is the best that we can do for ourselves and others. Starting small with learning how to be unattached to our emotions. Taking a step back and trying to look at things from a grander viewpoint.

Our emotions are there to guide us. We just have to practice listening to them. They help protect us and when we feel those big emotions of fear, anger, anxiety, what have you we should always take a step back to “am I safe” or “am I unsafe?” Once we decide which, we can more easily choose how to navigate the situation.

Noticing your inner dialogue and asking yourself if you would say such things to someone you loved.

    19:58 –

The need to prove yourself is a confidence trap. True confidence lies in no need to prove oneself.Getting comfortable sharing photos of yourself online. You do run the risk of everyone else’s opinions of you and your art form and that can be very hard and uncomfortable. It puts you in a vulnerable position.Remember projection is a thing.

    31:01 –

You have to date yourself. Sitting with yourself and spending time with you is how you figure out who you are and nourish your self love and confidence. The stigma behind certain words and how they were used historically. Language is fluid and ever evolving.

There are definitely risks to putting yourself out there. The double standards we have for men and women. Our culture sexualizes bodies but not every culture does that. We’ve tied shame to simply having a body and blocked our sacral chakras through it. So many people can’t even be comfortable with their body’s existence alone, much less with someone else present.

A lot of these beliefs, shames and insecurities have been passed down from generations before us, genetically or otherwise.

    42:00 –

Finding confidence and self love happens in levels. You’ll heal it a little at a time, think you’re done and then have to do it again. The fact that you’re noticing this movement shows that you’re doing the work and moving through it. Those who are unaware are simply sitting in one place, they have no back and forth pace. Becca gives us a great ripple analogy here.

Astral travels. Meditation and alchemy so that you can pinpoint what you specifically need to work on in order to progress. How Jesus said that we were capable of everything he could do and more.

For some reason this is a big missed/ignored/I dunno really thing that so many act as though is blasphemy when it’s exactly what he wanted us to figure out. It’s our responsibilities to clear our triggers.

There’s learning the hard way and learning the easy way. Sometimes going straight up the mountain is harder but quicker.
