We are coming to you LIVE from a Fresh Grounded Faith event in Greenville, South Carolina, where I’m spilling the beans with two of my good friends, Shaun Groves and Tammy Trent.

We’re talking about knowing your calling, giving grace when someone disappoints you, and dealing with depression. Plus, Tammy speaks a good word of encouragement to the ladies who are single or single again.

Oh, and you’ll want to hear about how I climbed the Great Wall of China in the dead of winter on ice, as well as the story of my worst makeup mix-up ever!

This was funny, warm, practical, and everything you need to make this day even better! So, pull up your chair to the bistro and let’s spill the beans.

Harvard Psychiatrist: THIS Food Is Causing The Mental Health Crisis! - Chris Palmer
We often think that physical health has nothing to do with mental health and vice versa, but could it be that we have the equation completely upside down? Chris Palmer is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is also the author of the book, ‘Brain Energy: A Revolutionary Breakthrough in Understanding Mental Health’, which outlines a combined theory of what causes mental illnesses, and that mental disorders are really metabolic disorders of the brain. In this conversation Chris and Steven discuss topics, such as how depression and anxiety are caused by diet, the impact of gut health on mental illness, and why mental health problems and rates of suicide are increasing. 115. Let's talk about depression in our 20s

    115. Let's talk about depression in our 20s

In this episode, I want to talk about depression. And not just from a psychological and scientific perspective but also from a personal perspective, sharing parts of my story. It's not something I've talked about much on the podcast but recently I've really come to terms with my own shame and stigma and I want to discuss where I'm at now, the journey I've been on and how its impacted the life I've created for myself in my 20s. We're also going to explore some of the key principles and theories behind the origins of depression, misconceptions, the different forms of depression, historical recognition of this condition, whether exercise really is a 'cure', and the new frontier of depression research, including the proposed use of psychedelics and ketamine.

Ketamine: Benefits and Risks for Depression, PTSD & Neuroplasticity

Ketamine: Benefits and Risks for Depression, PTSD & Neuroplasticity
In this episode, I explain how ketamine causes rewiring of brain circuits and dissociative states to relieve symptoms of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I explain how ketamine impacts both the brain’s glutamate and its endogenous opioid pathways, which together regulate mood and well-being. I discuss how ketamine therapy is used clinically to treat major depression, bipolar depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), suicidality and other psychiatric challenges. I also describe how ketamine causes the subjective effects of dissociation and euphoria and, at higher doses, is an anesthetic. I compare the different routes of ketamine administration, dosages and forms of ketamine, and if micro-dosing ketamine is effective. I also highlight the potential risks of recreational ketamine use (and the colloquial term ‘K-holes’). This episode should interest anyone interested in ketamine, treatments for depression, neuroplasticity mechanisms, psychiatry and mental health. For the full show notes, visit hubermanlab.com.
Is Everything In The World Stressing You Out?

The wildfires in Canada, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and the tragic incidents of mass shootings in schools and offices are just a few examples of the distressing news that surrounds us. How can we effectively address these situations while still finding solace and gratitude in our own blessings? How can we alleviate the stress that comes with it all? Take a moment to listen to this podcast, where we revisit Wayne Dyer's renowned words: "You Can't Feel Bad Enough To Make the World Better." It emphasizes the power of our intention to feel good and highlights that it is through this mindset that we can both enjoy our lives and take inspired action to support ourselves and others in need. Although this podcast was aired last year, its message remains relevant and invaluable for the present moment.
