POEM - Product Ownership Evolution Model

POEM - Product Ownership Evolution Model
The Four Levels of Delegation

    The Four Levels of Delegation

In this episode, Pete Mohr dives deep into the art of delegation, a skill that can make or break your business. Think of your business like an airplane. You can be the pilot, co-pilot, or even put it on autopilot. The key is knowing when to switch roles. Pete shares his own experiences as a shoe store owner to illustrate how delegation evolves as your business grows. If you're stuck doing everything and want to move from detail to dashboard, this episode is your roadmap.

Here are a few things Pete covers:

    • The Four Levels of Delegation: Pilot, Co-Pilot, Auto-Pilot, and Handoff
    • The importance of clear processes and communication
    • The 80/20 rule in delegation
    • How to instill confidence and accountability in your team
    • The ultimate goal: Handing over the controls

    It’s time to take action:

Stop micromanaging and start empowering your team. Your first step towards freedom is to evaluate where you are on the delegation journey. Are you the pilot, co-pilot, or are you ready for autopilot? Once you know, you can start to make the shift. Book a free appointment with Pete at speaktopete.com to get personalized guidance.

This episode is brought to you by Sundays for Dogs, ultra-high-quality dog food without the prep or mess! I want to give my pooch, Molly, the best of everything. This is especially true when it comes to the ingredient quality of her food. But most healthy dog foods are an expensive, frozen mess. They’re a hassle to thaw and serve, and the prep work eats up time I’d rather spend hiking with Molly. Sundays for Dogs solves my problem with air-dried, high-quality dog food I can store and pour right from my pantry.

The magic behind Sundays for Dogs is in their proprietary air-drying method. To lock in nutrients, they gently dry the meat, low and slow. Unlike other dry brands, which are filled with hyper-processed grains and synthetic vitamins, Sundays for Dogs uses only all-natural poultry and USDA-grade beef. And meat makes up 90% of their recipes. The other 10% are fruits and veggies, ingredients you’d find at the farmer’s market, not at the pharmacy.

Get 35% off your first order of Sundays for Dogs by going to SundaysForDogs.com/TIM or by using code TIM at checkout. Upgrade your pup to Sundays for Dogs and feel great about the food you feed your best friend.

I recommended it in The 4-Hour Body in 2010 and did not get paid to do so. I do my best with nutrient-dense meals, of course, but AG1 further covers my bases with vitamins, minerals, and whole-food-sourced micronutrients that support gut health and the immune system.

Right now, you’ll get a 1-year supply of Vitamin D free with your first subscription purchase—a vital nutrient for a strong immune system and strong bones. Visit DrinkAG1.com/Tim to claim this special offer today and receive your 1-year supply of Vitamin D (and 5 free AG1 travel packs) with your first subscription purchase! That’s up to a one-year supply of Vitamin D as added value when you try their delicious and comprehensive daily, foundational nutrition supplement that supports whole-body health.

The Right and Wrong Way to Delegate with Ashley Carlson

The Right and Wrong Way to Delegate with Ashley Carlson

Thank you for joining me on this next episode of the School For Small Business podcast! Today let’s welcome Ashley Carlson! She’s here to help us get the clarity we need to transform our business, save ourselves from burn out and maximize our hours.

Ashley runs a VA Agency called Elevate where she uses her experience in the travel industry, corporate sales and as a 3rd generation entrepreneur to save business owners from burn out.  With the ability to look through both lenses, Ashley knows what business owners are looking for in operational support and how both parties can be set up for success. Being a business owner can be stressful and delegating can feel scary, but Ashley has built a company that successfully solves that problem! In under two years, Elevate has become one of the most highly sought-after Operations Support teams, having provided support to over 50 clients & their businesses.

We started our businesses because we have tactical skills to contribute in our industry, but let’s take a timeout today to get business development help. We need to think of our business like a business owner..

    Topics we discuss:

    • 7:47 - Where did this idea come from that you can do it all? Leaders in big businesses don’t do it all. In fact those who delegate, make it further and start seeing profit faster.
    • 12:55 - Delegate the tasks that don’t need to be done by you. This allows you to spend more time on the things that bring in money, like networking events and client calls. Make space for financial growth for your business. We love to think about delegation in terms of the return on your investment. What is the best use of your time?
    • 18:38 - Marketing is nothing more than sharing how you can help. Thinking about it this way takes the pressure off of sales. We just want to help.
    • 20:09 - Delegation doesn’t just take tasks off your plate, it takes them off your mind. But, in order for this to really work, you need to completely pass ownership off to someone else.

Thanks for listening! Is there a topic you feel not enough people are talking about in the small business scope or one I haven’t discussed? Send me a DM at @staci.millard because I would love to know and possibly cover it in a future episode! Let’s keep this conversation going!

CLASH OF THE TITANS - Go To moorevleeds.com to find out more

Your Host, Rob Moore, goes on Ben Morton Leadership to share his experience of being an entrepreneur and the ups and downs that come with it. Rob emphasizes the importance of committing to your business and doing whatever it takes to make it work. Do not wait for external events to create commitment and accountability; Rather create it yourselves. Say yes when you're on the fence, and figure out how later on. Overall, being an entrepreneur can be challenging, but with commitment and persistence, it can be a fulfilling and successful journey.

    BEST MOMENTS

    - "Looking back, the only risk would have been to not start my own business."

    - "I'm proud that in 17 years, I've never gone bust. I've never sunk anyone's money. I've never lost investor money. I'm proud of that. And I don't want that on my conscience."

    - "in order to write a good song, you've got to write a lot of shit songs."

    - "So actually getting started and being in the field of play, that's actually the biggest decision."

    - "even if everything is falling to shit around me, I'm not going to use anyone as a punch bag."

    - "managing and channeling and controlling my emotions would give me great rewards in business. Oh, when it just so happens to give you great rewards in life"

    - "That's not being honest. That's being a shit leader."
