The Black Death from East to West

The Black Death from East to West
From the 1340s to the 1350s, the Black Death unleashed a wave of death and devastation across Afro-Eurasia. This global pandemic of bubonic plague not only resulted in significant population loss, but it also led to profound social and economic transformation. The formerly thriving cities of the Mamluk Sultanate in Egypt quickly deteriorated, and in Europe, the psychological toll of the plague’s trauma led many to question the traditional privileges of the clergy and nobility. Although afflicted regions of Afro-Eurasia eventually recovered from the plague’s devastating impact, the Black Death radically altered the course of human history.

    We’re Still Buying Inventory

    We’re Still Buying Inventory
This week, in episode 149, Jay Goltz tells William Vanderbloemen that even with an inventory glut, a cash crunch, and a weakening economy, he’s not going to stop buying goods for his home store: “It's kind of like cutting Samson's hair,” Jay tells us. “I don't want to mess with telling the buyer, ‘Stop buying stuff.’ Because that's the business we’re in.” All of which has Jay feeling some pressure, but he’s very glad he’s been maintaining a credit line equivalent to 10 percent of sales. Plus: William explains how hiring can go wrong even at a staffing company and how he managed to raise his prices without actually raising his prices.

Part 1- Partners In Life & Business: An Inside look to the story of a couple always working toward a common goal
In this episode of "Partners In Life & Business", I sat down with my husband that I have been together doing life for the past 21 years. From building a life, a family, and businesses we have persevered through hard work and commitment to each other even when we didn't see eye to eye.

We dive into how the pandemic completely shifted everything we were working towards and how we had to pivot business and jobs in order to survive.

We share the challenges we faced, the tough decisions we had to make, and how we managed to start a new life and a new business to stay afloat. We hope to share a new lens of what it can be like being married to an entrepreneur and the unwavering support needed to adapt and grow each other.
Join us as we share an inside look to just a small piece of our story.

Ep 412: Kristina Wong On Her Becoming a Sweatshop Overlord During The Pandemic

Ep 412: Kristina Wong On Her Becoming a Sweatshop Overlord During The Pandemic

Whenever I bring American comedic actor Kristina Wong on my show, there's never a dull moment, and never any uncomfortable silent gaps. She came on this time to promote her award-winning solo show, "Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord," a co-production of the Center Theater Group and East West Players at the Kirk Douglas Theater in Culver City, CA, from February 12-March 12. You're going to love hearing her recount how she initially responded to a severe shortage of face masks at the start of the pandemic to her organizing and directing an army of 'aunties' who made and gave away well over 300,000 face masks to those needing them most.

    Episode 25- A Fine Mess

    Episode 25- A Fine Mess

Today, we bring you Kelly Gunderson, who’s expert political analysis will give us insight into what is happening in the current Minnesota legislative session.

We take a look at the Governor’s race, debate the candidates, their poll numbers, and what we expect out of the election.

We also vent about the inability of the Republicans to stop anything, as they make back room deals and pass omnibus bills with way too much in them.

The legislature is handling some crazy bills for this election season. They are holding on to billions of dollars of our money. They call it a surplus, we call it overtaxing. They may still introduce a bonding bill anyway. H.R. 2705 would require registration of all semi-automatic firearms to local law enforcement. On top on that there are education issues, the pandemic, taxes, and more. Join us for this great discussion!

3 NEW Studies Show MAJOR Differences Between Moderna and Pfizer Vaccines

3 NEW Studies Show MAJOR Differences Between Moderna and Pfizer Vaccines

While it's true that all currently authorized and recommended COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and reduce your risk of severe illness, there are new studies that show when compared with the Pfizer vaccine and Johnson & Johnson vaccine that: patients receive double the amount of antibodies from the Moderna vaccine , the Moderna vaccine has a higher percentage when preventing infection or hospitalization and the Moderna vaccine has a higher percentage in reducing breakthrough cases. What are the differences between the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines? Is the Moderna vaccine better than the Pfizer vaccine or the Johnson and Johnson vaccine? That answer has yet to be uncovered.  As a Medical Doctor who has spent years going over medical studies, I go over these three new studies and breakdown exactly what they mean so you can make an informed decision.

At this time the CDC does not recommend one vaccine over another. It is still better and recommended to get whatever vaccine is offered to you first.

The three studies showing this emerging data are:
    1. Comparison of SARS-CoV-2 Antibody Response Following Vaccination With BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273:
