Ep12 To Forgive or Not to Forgive. That is the Question.

Ep12 To Forgive or Not to Forgive. That is the Question.

Is some behavior too despicable to forgive? Are some atrocities completely off the table when it comes to forgiveness? Will you be okay on your death bed with outstanding resentment and damaged relationships?

Ginny and Amanda play both sides of the fence by exploring the potential growth and the potential disservice found in both forgiving and not forgiving.

Key points in this somewhat controversial conversation include:

    • How not forgiving a person may be an equally effective and empowering way of healing compared to forgiving
    • Healing your inner child is one path toward emotional liberation which does not demand forgiveness
    • Anger can serve as motivation to maintain healthy boundaries
    • Forgiveness is closely linked to feelings of loss/grief
    • How difficult it is to forgive the person/people who were supposed to protect you and didn't
    • The Alchemy of Forgiveness: transmuting pain to healing with the power of forgiveness
    • The concept of Compassion Forgiveness: Accepting a persons inability to do better due to their own painful personal experiences and unhealed trauma
    • Self-forgiveness is the hardest kind of forgiveness to achieve
    • There is no right or wrong answer to whether a person should forgive or not. It is deeply personal and no one has the right to tell anyone how to feel or what to do.

Breast Augmentations, Implant Illness & Trauma that Lives in the Body

Breast Augmentations, Implant Illness & Trauma that Lives in the Body

Welcome to Episode 66 of Someone Had to Say It.

In this episode, Breast Augmentations, Implant Illness & Trauma that Lives in the Body, we're having an honest conversation around:

    • For the past few years, I had a manifestation in mind where I wanted to redo my breast implants, and somehow the Universe brought that manifestation to me a lot sooner
    • Breast implant illness (BII) is a collection of symptoms that occur in people with breast implants. There isn't an official medical diagnosis for BII. Symptoms may include fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, dry eyes, and many other health concerns. Healthcare providers diagnose BII by ruling out other health conditions
    • Talk about the experience when I had my first implants done at 21, from the doctor to abusive relationships (body shame and sexual trauma), the self-hate in my body
    • How I believe this manifested (amongst other things) as a disconnect from my body, autoimmune responses & adrenal fatigue
    • How this was such a real-life experience for me on how trauma lives in the body and the effect it can have
    • How my body has changed after surgery
    • Losing weight & having a changed relationship with food
    • How my sex drive has increased

    The Audacity of Men

    The Audacity of Men

I didn't know my socialization as a black girl meant that as a woman I would expect little from men and settle for even less. I had no idea that I was conditioned to accept 'struggle love' relationships. That is, I believed that mistreatment, emotional and psychological abuse, disrespect, neglect, even cheating were to be expected. Consequently, I tolerated all manner of abuse, disrespect, neglect, pain, and betrayal from men. But not anymore.

In episode S2 12, I talk about some of the 'struggle love' relationships that I endured, what was at the root of this proclivity, and how self-love and healing have changed the game.
