In fact, she was so new that prior to his murder, the two had only been married for 5 weeks and had met only a couple days before deciding to get married. Then, Lauren shares the tragic story of the Thanksgiving Day Disaster. This story was long lost and typically overshadowed by the college football game taking place while it occurred. Once you hear it, there is no chance you will ever forget it. We hope you have a strong stomach because this episode is not for the easily queasy!

The story of Ruth is about how God is at work in the circumstances and lives of ordinary people to restore what is broken - to bring rest to the weary, fullness to the empty, hope to the hurting. He is making all things new.

But the beginning of this story is one of weariness, tragedy, and loss. We see in chapter 1 that our weariness comes from circumstances beyond our power and decisions within our power. But rest comes from the God of all power.
