Harnessing our ADHD Intuition and Inner Wisdom

Harnessing our ADHD Intuition and Inner Wisdom

Trusting our native intuition, learning about how our gut feelings show up, and harnessing and accessing more of it can be vital energy for those of us who are neurodivergent and often think only with our (busy!) minds.

Having such overactive brains means we can often detach from our bodies and gut or intuitive feelings and become burdened with self-doubt. By trusting in our deep intuition and inner wisdom, we can give our brains and overthinking some time out and go back within and learn to trust our body's signalling.

This week’s guest is Dr Robyn Mckay. An authority on spiritual intelligence, Robyn McKay is a top advisor to high EQ executives and leaders at Fortune 500 companies and elite-level performers in entrepreneurship, sports and entertainment.

Robyn is known as a “whole brain” coach and has a PhD in counselling psychology, where she studied diverse concepts ranging from spiritual intelligence and personal development to positive psychology and creativity. Her distinct range of tools that span from the spiritual to the scientific serves as the baseline for her unique approach to transformational leadership and innovation.

On today's ADHD Women's Wellbeing Podcast, Kate and Dr Robyn spoke about:

    • How to be an intuitive channel
    • ADHD diagnosis later on in life
    • Why ADHD and having a deep intuition are so closely connected
    • Using our ADHD as a strength
    • Accessing your intuition and guidance
    • Connecting inwards and tapping into the bigger part of who we are
    • Why neurodiverse people are good at making decisions quickly
    • The intuitive skills neurodiverse people have & how to utilise them
    • Using our ' creative flow' to channel

In episode 608: Dark Beginnings and Redemption’s Path; Jay and Chandler share their story, which is a profound narrative of a family's encounter with spiritual warfare, where Jay's initial experiences with bullying and abuse spiraled into a dark period marked by negative influences and demonic oppression, leading to a pivotal moment of spiritual awakening and deliverance through prayer. Chandler's parallel experiences, witnessing unexplained phenomena and terrifying dreams, underscored the family's collective struggle. This ordeal catalyzed a deeper exploration and understanding of their faith, particularly regarding spiritual warfare, ultimately strengthening their familial bonds and fortifying their commitment to God. Their journey, scary yet uplifting, highlights the transformative power of faith and the resilience of a family united in facing and overcoming spiritual adversities.

Ep 896 | From 'Trans Man' to Transformed by Christ | Guest: Laura Perry Smalts (Part One)
Today, we’re joined by detransitioner Laura Perry Smalts, author of "Transgender to Transformed: A Story of Transition That Will Truly Set You Free," to share her testimony of how she went from believing she was a man to embracing her womanhood under Christ. We start off with Laura's childhood, during which she became convinced that her mother wanted her to be a boy. This, combined with early sexual abuse and not fitting in with other girls, eventually led her to believe she needed to become a man. Laura shares how desperate she was for male attention and the extreme behavior that led her family to begin worrying, as well as the transgender support group that first convinced her to seek "trans care." We discuss how testosterone initially made her feel amazing, but she quickly realized that the more she transitioned, the more imprisoned she was and that she would never truly become a man despite going through the motions. Stay tuned for part two! EP: 200 Sasquatch is Human? with Duke Sullivan

For this milestone of 200 episodes, we got in the time machine and went all the way back to the beginning. Our very first guest on Blurry Creatures, Brian "Duke" Sullivan makes his return to the show. Three years ago Duke kicked off this journey podcast and 198 episodes later the 40+ year cryptid researcher is back. It has been an incredible journey from that first interview and so we return to the genesis of Blurry Creatures and to catch up with Duke. Hailing from the big skies of Montana, Duke is a veteran and respected thought leader in the Bigfoot space. He is the creator and developer of World Bigfoot Radio and spends as much time as possible doing quantifiable field research on Sasquatch. On his return voyage, we talk about new updates to his research, DNA advances in the Bigfoot world, his own encounters with the elusive creatures, and new information and conclusions on the most encountered cryptid on Earth. Thank you for making this podcast a reality and changing our lives forever. Here's to many more!

    How To Put You First

    How To Put You First
How you live your life and, ultimately, how it turns out are all about ONE THING… YOU. What I’m about to tell you this week may seem counter to what you’re been led to believe, but THE #1 PRIORITY IN YOUR LIFE NEEDS TO BE YOU. Here’s why… The people in your life need the BEST VERSION of you and when you don’t take time to RECHARGE, RENEW, and live in a state of GRACE and BALANCE, you’re going to fall short…guaranteed. Often you don’t even know you’re falling short, which is why you must pay attention to your MIND, SPIRIT, and ENERGY so that you can clearly understand your PURPOSE and PLACE in the world. If you don’t, you’ll get stuck in the same job, relationships, and mindset while PRECIOUS TIME slowly slips away… …and that’s a sad way to live. Ask yourself these questions. Who do you really think you are? Are you the STORIES AND EVENTS of your past, or are these the foundations and lessons you can use to CREATE A BETTER LIFE still to come? Do you use those stories against yourself as a way to settle and make peace with a lesser life than what you and your loved ones deserve? MAKE YOURSELF THE HIGHEST PRIORITY, and you’ll get the right answers to these questions to lead your BIGGEST AND BEST life. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

A philosopher takes on religious life

A philosopher takes on religious life
What would drive someone to renounce all their possessions, relationships, and ambitions to join a religious community? Sean talks with Zena Hitz, whose new book A Philosopher Looks at the Religious Life explores this question — drawing from her own experience. They discuss the occasionally perplexing relationship between faith and reason, why Hitz thinks the act of renunciation is the pinnacle of Christian belief, and why the radicalism at the heart of Christianity seems so absent from mainstream practice. Ep 745 | Life as a Duggar & Letting Go of Legalism | Guest: Jinger Duggar Vuolo
Today we’re joined by Jinger Duggar Vuolo, author of "Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear," and formerly of the "19 Kids and Counting" franchise. In her new book, Jinger shares her theological journey from following a fundamentalist leader to finding freedom in Christ. We discuss her upbringing under the teachings of Bill Gothard, who taught strict rules on modesty and behavior, and how these teachings were rooted in fear, superstition, and control and led Jinger to believe she needed to earn favor with God. We discuss her childhood growing up on TV (despite never watching TV), struggling with an eating disorder, and wrestling with the idea of attending a church outside her doctrine growing up. We discuss how Jinger met her husband, Jeremy, and how his theology helped shape hers. Jinger explains the difference between “deconstruction” and “disentangling” faith and why disentangling can lead to true restoration under biblical truth. --- Timecodes: (01:09) Interview with Jinger begins / "Becoming Free Indeed" (02:00) Bill Gothard's teaching (08:58) Growing up on TV (14:50) Struggling with fear (19:30) Struggling with an eating disorder (22:00) Parental authority & gaining favor with God (27:30) Letting go of old theology (40:20) Deconstruction vs. disentanglement --- Today's Sponsors: A'Del — go to adelnaturalcosmetics.com and enter promo code "ALLIE" for 25% off your first order! In Episode 481: Hollywood Insiders Reveal Industry Evil, we are joined by Hollywood insiders Kristen and Joseph. Joseph joined me previously for Episode 420: Hollywood Elites Seance, where he discussed his 30+ year career in the film industry, including Hollywood and Broadway. He touched on some of the darkness in which the industry is involved, and I knew while recording that episode we needed to interview again to dive deeper into the things he knows. Kristen also originally joined us for Episode 134: Paranormal Hollywood. She has 20 years of experience working in the Hollywood industry, and continues working there to this day. She reached out to me to talk about what she has seen since the world shifted into a seemingly new reality in 2020. She and some of her colleagues have had the "veil" lifted off their eyes, and they are seeing firsthand the demonic influences that control this industry. Together, Kristen and Joseph join the show to reveal the industry evils of Hollywood.

It seems like as she went through life, the harder it got meant the more paranormal things would take place.

A Meditator in the Arena | Sam Harris

A Meditator in the Arena | Sam Harris
Sam Harris (no relation to me, by the way -- although I wouldn’t mind it) has had a formative impact on my contemplative development. He was one of the first “normal” (at least that’s how I computed it, back when I was still a rather judgmental skeptic) people I met who was really into meditation, which gave me a lot of courage and inspiration to pursue the practice myself. He later helped me get into my first meditation retreat with his old friend Joseph Goldstein, which was a massively important event in my life and the beginning of a deep relationship with Joseph. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Sam, he is a neuroscientist, philosopher, author, podcaster, and app founder. I first heard of him in the mid-aughts, when he wrote a book called The End of Faith, which was a jeremiad against organized religion. I was surprised to learn that he had spent, cumulatively, several years on meditation retreats. He later wrote a book which touched on those subjects, called Waking Up. That is also the name of his meditation app. But while he has one foot firmly in the contemplative world, he is also very much in the arena, mixing it up on Twitter and on his wildly popular podcast, called Making Sense, with his controversial views on hot-button issues from Trump to race to Islam. Sam really believes that the future of civilization depends on our ability to have rational conversations on thorny issues. And he has a new book called Making Sense: Conversations on Consciousness, Morality, and the Future of Humanity, in which some of his podcast conversations are revised and extended. I wanted to have him on to talk about the book, and to explore with him how somebody who is so fiercely engaged in the public square uses meditation to guide and sustain him. I suspect many of you may disagree with him on key issues -- I often wrestle with his ideas quite a bit, personally -- but no matter where you stand, I think you’ll find his answers to these questions fascinating.
