165. The psychology of anger
Anger is one of our most primal emotions and yet we have no idea how to manage it. We suppress it, allowing it to rule our lives; we hide from it, we let it explode onto people who don't deserve our rage. In this episode we break down the psychology of anger and why anger is often a secondary emotion, masking our true fear, anxiety and insecurity. We explore how to manage our anger, use it for fuel and motivation, why the anger we experience as children often leads to our inability to full express emotions, where our anger comes from and whether forgiveness truly is the solution. #201: Unchecked & Out of Balance (Bret Weinstein & Heather Heying DarkHorse Livestream)
In this 201st in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we discuss the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.
In this episode we discuss New York’s emergency rule 2.13, which has now been reinstated after being overturned, and which paves the way for quarantine camps in order to “control the spread of a highly contagious communicable disease.” We also discuss penguins, their ability to tell each other apart based on the dots on their chests, and why that’s important.

The Glove (4)
Suddenly, she was awake.
Alert.
Hyper aware of every detail around her.As she was before one of her migraines, her seizures that would blind her with a shocking, debilitating light.
Her penultimate stop was called by the recorded voice. She winced. It was fully light now outside. She normally felt this way in the middle of the day when it happened: triggered by tiredness, stress or that nagging sense of loss that followed her into her own kn er struggles.
At least she was alert. Watchful. The tram shuddered to a halt. She looked at the door nearest to her hiss open. No one got out.
But he stepped in.

484. “A Fascinating, Sexy, Intellectually Compelling, Unregulated Global Market.”
The art market is so opaque and illiquid that it barely functions like a market at all. A handful of big names get all the headlines (and most of the dollars). Beneath the surface is a tangled web of dealers, curators, auction houses, speculators — and, of course, artists. In the first episode of a three-part series, we meet the key players and learn how an obscure, long-dead American painter suddenly became a superstar. (Part 1 of “The Hidden Side of the Art Market.”)
