Episode 127: ADD episode 4: Swipe Roulette and Vagina Repellant

Episode 127: ADD episode 4: Swipe Roulette and Vagina Repellant

On this episode, I get to actually see what real life Tinder page looks like, and we discuss LIVE if Anna should swipe right, and why or why not. The ladies tell me some things that are “Vagina repellant” – a term I never knew and could have gone my whole life without hearing… We answer how many pet guinea pigs is too many, how often you should update your profile picture and information and what is your responsibility to somewhat resemble your current picture. How much revenge is too much?

Episode 126: ADD - Episode 3: Eggplant V Banana emoji? Deal breakers, ettiquette, and more

Episode 126: ADD - Episode 3: Eggplant V Banana emoji? Deal breakers, ettiquette, and more

In this jam-packed episode of ADD – we wonder why the eggplant became the go-to suggestive emoji over the heavily favored banana, compare notes on how to spot an actual hooker, and how  the “ordering process” in a brothel look like. We talk about a few uncomfortable taboo fetishes that Anna has been offered to participate in. What are some deal breakers on you profile, and wonder if etiquette still matters in today’s world of dating – do you dress up a little? Be on time? Open the door? Pick up the check… And why these two ladies do not care about your favorite sports team and probably don’t want to camp in the wild… spoiled? They are also a little mean in my opinion to Bill and a couple other dates of Anna’s...

Episode 125: ADD ep. 2 - Foot guy, murder house, and meet Anna

Episode 125: ADD ep. 2 - Foot guy, murder house, and meet Anna

On this week’s installment of ADD – Adult Dating for Dummies, we meet Anna and scratch the surface of her recent dating history. We hear about “Special K” she only uses his first initial for some semi anonymity. We discuss door opening etiquette, good, safe places to meet on a first face to face or “IRL” that’s what the kids call in real life, date. Spoiler alert, an under-construction house with covered windows and plastic tarps everywhere is not a good idea… but that does not stop Anna! I explain what a Masshole is and why it is not as bad as it sounds. We do a PG-13 introduction to “foot guy.” And basically talk about first dates and how much you should share before hand, expect during, and reveal after.

So grab a quart of Ben and Jerry’s and a cozy blanket and give us a listen o this week’s episode of ADD!

    Episode 124: ADD - intro episode V1

    Episode 124: ADD - intro episode V1

Hey folks, for those expecting a scintillating interview episode, this is a brand new project, launched under the Tony on the Mic banner. ADD – Adult dating for Dummies. We talk about the new dating frontier – dating apps and how to meet someone in 2024. I am happily married and so naïve to what is out there, I mostly sit mouth wide open as I hear about the wild wild world on online dating, intimate pics, sliding into DMs, swiping, how to choose a profile pic and more. I also get a disturbing bit of info about the brazen-ness of today’s on-line males and share a now infamous photo of a shirtless me with a cat in my lap, trying to look… sexy?

Please reach out to the show if you have any horror stories, funny stories, tips or tricks for navigating this crazy new marketplace. It will be an interactive show! In the meantime, tune in, like comment, share and tell your friends. Then get in on the fun!

EP 56: SPLASH - THE MOVIES THAT BROKE US WITH MALCOLM BARRETT

EP 56: SPLASH - THE MOVIES THAT BROKE US WITH MALCOLM BARRETT

Do you ever look back at the movies of your childhood and see similarities with how you saw relationships? Movies have always being an expression of society's beliefs and influenced the creation of the future. It's clear more than ever how our misconceptions today have roots in the TV and FILM of the past as research shows.

We welcome actor and comedian Malcolm Barrett to discuss the film SPLASH and how it's tropes mirror a lot of the relational issues we see today. IT is is anything INCENDIARY !

Malcolm Barrett, a native of New York City, studied at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He recently worked on several NY based television series including "Law & Order" and "The Sopranos", "As the World Turns" and "The Beat". His feature film credits include "King of the Jungle," "Swimfan," and most recently, "The Rhythm of the Saints," shown at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. Barrett received his Equity membership at the age of 16 when he appeared in the McCarter Theatre production of "The Stonemason." He later appeared in the national tour of "Wit" with Judith Light, while simultaneously continuing his education at NYU.Make sure to follow him on  instagram !

How A Man Decides to Make You ‘The One’ with Author and Dating and Relationship Coach Paula Grooms

How A Man Decides to Make You ‘The One’ with Author and Dating and Relationship Coach Paula Grooms
“Love is only one of the criteria of a man choosing you to be ‘the one.’ Love does not conquer all. You can love each other to death, but it doesn't mean you’ll have a relationship that goes the distance.” Author and dating and relationship coach Paula Grooms joins the show to discuss what men need in a relationship in order to commit.
Paula is a dating and relationship coach, licensed social worker and author of the book, “Why Won’t He Commit? How a Man Decides to Make You ‘The One.’” Using her individualized coaching approach, Paula shows women how to improve their self-concept and override subconscious limiting beliefs through manifestation methods and behavioral change. Paula’s tried-and-true strategies help women all over the world to receive the love, attention and commitment from the men they desire and deserve.
In this episode, we discuss the difficulties of modern dating and how to navigate dating online and on the apps. We talk about the benefits of working with a dating coach like Paula, who can offer an objective perspective and advice, including tips to avoid common dating mistakes and playing games. Paula shares “the two things a man needs above all” to commit to a woman and explains two core concepts in her book: The Puppy Principle (why a guy won’t commit) and Consumers Vs. Buyers (the differences between a guy who’s just using you and a guy who’s interested in a committed relationship). Paula also shares “the number one red flag” in a dating relationship and the importance of healing our inner child in order to have a healthy relationship with our partner.

Complicated orange. Blueberry scamcakes. Mail-adjusted. The China(wo)man is the issue here. Another fulfulling and totally worthwhile Bumble date. The Donut King. 0 for 3 on "not weirdo/noisy neighbors" so far in 1.5 years of living here. My two cents on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcie, I weigh in like everyone else-y. True Detective, Dark Country. (so far) Matthew Weiner head (apparently).

Wet handshakes. White knuckle weekend. Girls on dating apps think they're hilarious, but no one will tell them guys only pretend to laugh at everything they say because they want to see their butthole. (And other annoying LA dating profile attributes) A moderately revelatory week of stand up/open mic grindage. The lost Howard Stern cassette archive. (Worst Indiana Jones plot ever) This new doctor is a real backstabber.

Eskimo brothers with Steven Spielberg. More totally reliable and relatable women in Los Angeles, dating here is just wonderful. A reflection on one year as a Sherman Oaks resident, and a fond farewell to my first roommate. Stand up round up, and a sort of review of Funny People. (Apatow flick from 2009) Rocha's show at the gay bar, and a 4th of July run down. Arnold still pulls chicks.

A Bumble miracle. I finally approached a woman in the gym after 20 years of working out in public. I helped T Dog move (again) this weekend, and realized Im gettin fuckin old. I rage-fucked the drug dealer after a long day Sunday, and I had a show at THC Friday. I elaborate further on these seemingly rather narrow topics, and it's funny here & there. There's only one way to find out.

"The analogy episode!" Listener alert - it's Fathers Day on Sunday, don't fuck up like I did. One more note about Bokes' drowning pool. The Joe List show at the Improv. "Goonies II," and the confounding nature of early NES games. Quarterly comedy existential crisis: The Rec Room and Bakersfield shows. The New Guy at MDR film festival recounting. A Bumble date with Giselda Blanco. (basically)
