Unlocking Your Goals with a Four Step Framework

It's easy to go back to the past because it's already written, but writing chapter 20 is harder because it hasn't been written yet. This year, we need to make use of new tools and approaches to achieve our goals and make progress.A survey of 2000 people showed that most people wanted to improve their health, exercise more, lose weight and save money.Unfortunately, most of us fail to follow through on our resolutions due to lack of a four step framework. This four step framework will help us understand why we make mistakes and why our plans are not successful. If we commit to this framework, our goals will be easier to reach, process, focus on and understand.

The Power of Focusing on Growth to Reach Your Goals

We all have goals in life, whether it is to achieve something, create something or to gain something. To reach our goals, we need to focus on our growth rather than the goal itself. We must ask ourselves what skills, knowledge and abilities we need to focus on to reach our goals. For example, if one of your goals is to create content that impacts the world, then the growth you would need to focus on is storytelling skills. It is important to remember that goals are something that we can grow towards, and visions are something that are more long-term and require a lot of work to achieve.By focusing on our growth, we can make sure that we are taking steps in the right direction and working towards our goals.

Reaching Goals Through Learning and Growing

If you want to achieve your goals, it is not enough to just set them.To reach your goals, you need to work on the skills and qualities you need to develop and grow in.This year, focus on learning and growing. Learn a new language, hobby, coding or how to edit.It is also important to learn how to develop and change habits.Having a growth plan is more important than having goals.Learning how to change habits will help you to apply it to any other habit.

Should You Always Say Yes to New Opportunities?

Set clear goals for yourself and decide on the criteria for saying yes to new opportunities.Decide on what is a non-negotiable in your life and stick to it even if there are exceptions.Don't say yes to too many things that are not your priority.Know when to say no to certain things like late night events.Have clear exceptions when you decide to say yes to an opportunity.Pre-order books to get exclusive access to content that can help with your goals.

Setting Criteria for Achieving Life Goals

We all have endless opportunities in our life in different areas. We need to set a criteria for what we say yes and no to.Without setting a criteria, we will be confused and lost and not achieve our goals. We need to set rules for ourselves and create clarity around our opportunities.Without a plan, it is difficult to achieve our goals.A plan should include minute by minute actions that will help us to reach our goals.

Conquer Your Goals with Actionable Steps

To make sure you achieve your goals, break it down into manageable steps.Think of it like a ladder - you need to build each step before you can reach the top goal.Ask yourself: What do I need to do to get there?Create a plan for each step - what do you need to do, when do you need to do it, and how will you do it?Make sure you can take action right away - don’t just think about what needs to be done, but actually do it.Having a plan with actionable steps will help you stay focused and motivated to reach your goals.

Can You Make This Year About Something?

To achieve our goals, we need to create a plan that details what we are going to do, when we are going to do it, how we are going to do it, who we are going to do it with, and why we are going to do it.For example, if your goal is to go to the gym, you should plan what exercises you are going to do, when you are going to do them, where you are going to go, who you are going to go with, and why you are doing it.Having an action plan allows us to be focused and be effective in achieving our goals. To really push forward and make an impact this year, try to make the year about something.Make sure to have specific and achievable goals that you can easily track.Having a plan and making the year about something will help you to achieve your goals.

Unlocking Your Potential With an Action Plan of Launching, Learning and Loving

Every year, set an action plan that revolves around something specific. For example, 2018 could have been a year of creating social media videos, and 2019 could have been the year of podcasting.Break down your plan into three parts - what you want to be launching, learning and loving.Launching could mean working on something specific, such as a career or an entrepreneurial business.Learning could mean preparing for something in the future, such as learning about conscious parenting before expecting a child.Loving could mean focusing on something you already created, such as a podcast or a video.Having an action plan with learning, launching and loving can help you to be more prepared, excited and happy about the future.

Achieving Goals with Strategic Thought and Consistency

It is important to focus on growth rather than the goal itself.Clarify criteria and set priorities for the opportunities you choose to accept.Develop an action plan to make progress towards your goals.Learning, launching and loving can provide different energies and focus.Achieving goals requires a strategic and thoughtful plan.Consistency and stability are essential for success.

10 Steps on How To Set Boundaries Without Offending People

10 Steps on How To Set Boundaries Without Offending People

Are you struggling with setting your boundaries?

Do you want to know how to respectfully tell others about your boundaries?

Today, Jay questions the traditional notion that a "good person" is one who never says no. This outdated definition leads to a lack of boundaries, which ultimately harms personal well-being. By redefining what it means to be a good person, one can recognize the importance of investing in themselves and navigating difficult conversations.

What does setting boundaries truly mean? They are defined not by what we want from others, but by what we need for ourselves. Jay explains that boundaries should not aim to control others but should protect the individual from their own triggers and provides practical advice on how to communicate boundaries effectively, suggesting the use of simple, clear statements without over-explanation.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

How to set boundaries without feeling guilty

How can you stop self-sabotage and grow personally?

Today, let’s welcome Jamie Kern Lima. Jamie is a New York Times bestselling author, founder of IT Cosmetics, a company she started in her living room and sold to L'Oreal in a billion-dollar deal, becoming the first female CEO of a brand in its 100+ year history. She's also an active philanthropist who has funded leadership training in more than 100 prisons and shelters across the US, and has donated over $40 million in product and funds to help women face the effects of cancer with confidence.

Jamie and Jay ponder on the meaning of self-worth, distinguishing it from mere confidence and challenging the misguided belief that our value is tied to our physical appearance. We get to hear the detrimental effects of self-doubt and present empowering strategies to transform your relationship with rejection, offering a new perspective that fosters resilience and self-compassion.

And then the conversation dives deep into personal beliefs, urging us to identify and discard unhelpful misconceptions, while giving emphasis on why authenticity is crucial and its role in conjunction with other factors in achieving success.

    In this interview, you'll learn:

    How to build self-worth

How to distinguish confidence from self-worth

    How to handle rejection

    How to overcome self-doubt

    How to remain authentic

    With Love and Gratitude,

    Jay Shetty
