134 Restoring Flow, Halting Self Hurt, Broken Relationship Q & A

134 Restoring Flow, Halting Self Hurt, Broken Relationship Q & A

This is a recording of a Live Q & A which has been edited for clarity, length, and helpfulness.  Participants heartfelt questions and experiences guided our discussion.  We discuss how to release our blocks and let them melt, stopping hurting ourselves, the importance of "getting out of the pounding surf" as a basic step in our path of awakening, some grief is from biological separation as well as past and present obstacles.  Another noticed that he absorbed depression sitting next to a depressed man, etc.

    133 Experiencing What We Are

    133 Experiencing What We Are

To a seeker, Ramana said, "Before you ask out 'your life', find out who 'You' are."  Good advice.  In this podcast we place our attention on what we are.  What is always here and remains when everything goes?  We place our attention on Awareness or our "Buddha nature".  It is like a rainbow and is experienced beyond creation as a full nothing and, in creation, as Light, Love, Peace, Happiness, Joy, etc.  We place our attention on Awareness so that we can experience our Selves rather than just understand our Selves.  We talk about why some experience them Selves as Peace while others as Love, or Joy or Happiness or All.  Though not the focus, we talk briefly about how to release what distracts and blocks us and why.  We also note that much more information on releasing and the whole process of awakening is available for free on this platform.  All podcasts stand on their own yet each rests on those before.  Best to start at number 1 and move forward unless you find a title compelling now.

132 Seeing What We Are Not

132 Seeing What We Are Not

There can be no ultimate joy living a life that is false and deluded.  Therefore, let's see clearly what we are not.  Knowing what we are not, we can, also, more easily experience what we are.  Let's let go of what we are not and enjoy the radiant Peace, Love and Joy of who we are.  From contemplation 2 on my website, www.williamecooper.wordpress.com

    121 Relaxing Into Happiness

    121 Relaxing Into Happiness

You are Happiness (Being) right now and always.  Nothing to do but enjoy.  Yet we often feel blocked from our Selves by our troubles.  We develop preferences to protect us from being triggered and feeling our repressed pain blockages.  Our life becomes small.  What to do?  Let's do the opposite repression.  When we become triggered or feel our tensions or pain in anyway, just relax and let it flow.  The pain will come up, release its energy and dissipate....gone.  As more and more troubles release you become clearer and can feel and experience your innate Joy once again.  Who would you be without your troubles?   This "Relaxing into Happiness" Practice may be all you need.  It is simple yet profound.  If you would like to explore this practice more deeply you can listen to any or all of my previous podcasts, "Awakening Together, Relaxing into Happiness". They are thorough and very good.  I recommend starting with number one.  Also Michael Singer's books, "Untethered Soul", "The Surrender Experiment", and "Living Untethered" are all fun, easy, deep and so worth your while. His free recorded talks on the Temple of the Universe site are excellent as well.

    Lauren + Austin

    Lauren + Austin

Lauren tells us about her beautiful boy, Austin, who died at 38 weeks from a cord compression. Her way of accepting what has happened has brought her peace which she explains in this episode. She also discusses how poorly some of the medical professionals around her treated her when Austin was born and then what she DID about it. We've all had experiences with people having no compassion right after our loss and this is how Lauren handled it. She does it the right way and received positive responses from those she spoke to thus making change for all bereaved families to follow her. This is a great episode to listen to if you've ever wanted to approach your medical team about their behavior after your loss.

Lauren has so many great pieces of information on how she handled things in the weeks and months after Austin was born.

    We cover:

    • How to approach medical staff with facts in order to give feedback on their professional behavior.
    • Workplace policy for bereavement leave
    • Fighting for policy
    • Phases after loss
    • Going day to day with loss
    • Getting answers and being at peace with them.

    Chelsea + Elizabeth

    Chelsea + Elizabeth

Chelsea talks about her daughter Elizabeth who died and was stillborn just 9 months ago. Chelsea and I had connected just after her death and to see what she has done with her grief, how she copes and Elizabeth's legacy is inspiring. She never thought she'd make it to the day where she gets to tell Elizabeth's story. But it wasn't without putting in the work to get to this point.

We talk about a lot of this:

    • Elizabeth's story
    • Finding answers
    • The question "How are you doing?"
    • Medical staff and how they treat you. (She had a wonderful staff)
    • Religious views after death
    • Seeking out therapies
    • Support Groups and committing to them
    • Owning how you feel about the death of your baby and not letting anyone tell you otherwise

Lessons from the happiest place in the world

Lessons from the happiest place in the world

For multiple years in a row, Gallup has named Finland the happiest country in the world. But can you actually measure happiness — and what do the Finns know that the rest of the world doesn’t? Before you move to Finland, we talk to a Finnish “happyologist” about how she defines happiness, what we can learn from even trying to quantify something so subjective, and why happiness might be less of an individual pursuit than you think.

    Baby After Loss

    Baby After Loss

HEADS UP: This episode speaks about having a living baby after loss. Sarah from episode 24 is back to chat with me about our experiences in this phase of loss life with a 4 month and 6 month old. This is uncharted territory for both of us and we have mutually felt that there is not much being said in the loss community about how challenging it is to have a living baby after loss. We want to tell you about what we've learned.  While mine and Sarah's losses are very different, we share the same feelings about the trauma, joy, grief, challenges, and pain that occur when having a living baby after your first baby dies.

We navigated loss life after Brody and Nathanial died. Now we are navigating parenting their little siblings, Wolfy and Thomas.

This is NOT to scare or treat anyone. This is NOT complaining. We are also not speaking for everyone. This is us talking about our experiences in hopes we can help other mommas who are feeling the same way. Just shedding light on the normalcies having a living baby after loss include.

    What we discuss:

    • The less than ideal way the baby after loss arrives
    • It's not anything like we imagined
    • We prepped for PAL but not for when the baby is here.
    • We have the same experiences as other living baby parents do except ours has a layer of trauma
    • Early induction after loss
    • Relationships with people who dropped off when our baby died but came back when we had a living one.
    • Breastfeeding, pumping, feeding, formula, pain, etc
    • Terror over joy
    • Guilt for not hyper-focusing on our baby that died.
    • The definition of a "good mother"
    • Out partners and what they are experiencing
    • Finding space to talk about our baby that died.
    • Parenting a dead child while raising a living one
    • We cover a lot of things...
