775 Become Superhuman with Your Potential with Colin O'Brady

THOSE WHO SAY THEY CAN AND THOSE WHO SAY THE CAN'T ARE USUALLY BOTH RIGHT.
Any time you try to do something great, there are going to be critics.
That’s impossible. That’s crazy. You’ll never be able to do that.
But the biggest doubter is often yourself.
How can we master our minds and quiet our fears when we are striving for greatness?
It’s about pushing past our limits and tapping into a flow state.
We are full of limitless potential.
On today’s episode of The School of Greatness, I talk with a man conquered his own doubts to break records that many said were impossible: Colin O’Brady.
Colin O'Brady is a professional endurance athlete, motivational speaker, and adventurer. On Dec. 26, 2018, Colin became the first person in history to cross Antarctica solo, unsupported and unaided. It was a 932-mile expedition completed in 54 days.

    755 Mastering Your Ego

    755 Mastering Your Ego

YOU CAN'T LET YOUR EGO RUN THE SHOW.
You might be consumed by your ego and not even know it.
It can be a powerful tool or the cause of your downfall.
You need to recognize it, be aware of it, laugh at it, and finally work together with your ego to be your best self.
Break the bonds of your ego.
Otherwise, when will you ever be enough?
On today’s episode of The School of Greatness, I’ve created a mashup on this topic featuring three people who have learned to work with their ego, not for it: Taye Diggs, Ryan Holiday, and Justin Baldoni.
Taye Diggs is an actor and singer who is known for his roles on Broadway, TV, and Film. Ryan Holiday is the bestselling author of books about marketing, culture, and the human condition. His company, Brass Check, has advised companies such as Google, TASER, and Complex, as well as multi-platinum musicians and some of the biggest authors in the world. Justin Baldoni is an actor, director, and filmmaker who currently plays Rafael Solano on the award-winning show Jane the Virgin.
These men have all experienced success in their careers, but they have to constantly work on keeping a healthy ego so that they do not self-destruct. It’s a daily battle.
So get ready to learn what it takes to master your ego on Episode 755.

749 Lindsey Stirling: The Power of Your Truth

749 Lindsey Stirling: The Power of Your Truth

WHERE YOUR FOCUS GOES, YOUR ENERGY WILL FLOW.
    How do you define yourself?
Do you use words like “ugly,” “fat,” or “shy?”
Social media and advertising like to tell us that we’re not enough. But you don’t have to live by anyone else’s definition-you have the power to create your own.
Write your own view of yourself. Right now. Do it.
What you believe you will be is what you will become.
On today’s episode of The School of Greatness, I’m sharing a powerful presentation from The Summit of Greatness from a musician who redefined a genre and herself: Lindsey Stirling.
Lindsey Stirling is a violinist, dancer, performance artist, composer, and singer who presents amazing choreographed violin performances. Stirling was second place on last year’s Dancing With The Stars, has been named Forbes magazine's 30 Under 30 In Music, and was a quarter-finalist position on America's Got Talent season five.
Billions of people have now watched her videos on YouTube.
Lindsey struggled with depression and anorexia. It wasn’t until she decided to change her thought patterns about herself and about her future that became the powerful musician we know today.

743 Amy Purdy: How to Be Your Best Self

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A BOOK, HOW WOULD YOU WANT YOUR STORY TO GO?
Whatever it is that you want to do in this new year- declare it.
    Tell everyone.
One of the scariest things you can do is to admit your goals. What if you fail?
But saying your intentions out loud allows the universe and those around you to make them a reality.
Holding yourself accountable to what you really want won’t be easy, but it will force you to dig deep.
No one knows this better than my guest on today’s special episode of The School of Greatness. I’m sharing a speech from this year’s Summit of Greatness with an inspirational athlete and author: Amy Purdy.
Amy Purdy is a para-snowboarder, motivational speaker, clothing designer and New York Times bestselling author. She is a 2014 Paralympic bronze medalist, 2018 Paralympics silver medalist, and co-founder of Adaptive Action Sports. In 2013, She was named one of the top 15 most marketable para-athletes in the world by the International Olympic Committee.
Amy has competed on CBS’s The Amazing Race and ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, eventually becoming the show’s runner-up.
Amy used a tragedy that took her feet to push her to the next level. She teaches us to use obstacles not as a reason stop but as a springboard to new ideas.
So get ready to learn how to write your own story on Episode 743.
