846 Three Steps to Writing Your Book

846 Three Steps to Writing Your Book

WRITE FOR OTHERS, NOT FOR YOU. There are a lot of smart, accomplished people in our audience. You know things that are valuable to others. You’ve got great businesses. You’re ready to share that knowledge with the world. But figuring out where to start can be overwhelming. For this Five Minute Friday, I revisited a conversation I had with Tucker Max where he shared his three steps to starting your book. Tucker Max is a NYTimes Best-selling Author who was named one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential in 2009. He invented the genre “fratire,” and his number one bestseller, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, was made into a major motion picture. Tucker is the co-founder of Scribe, a company that turns ideas into books. He says that before you sit down and start typing, you should first hone in on who you’re writing for and what you’re writing. Learn how to find the goal, audience, and subject of your book in Episode 846.
In This Episode You Will Learn:
How to understand what kind of book you’re writing (02:00)
How to find the audience for your book (03:00)
The way to figure out what to write about (04:00)

704 The Power of Building Influential Relationships

704 The Power of Building Influential Relationships

YOUR CONNECTIONS WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE.
The biggest challenge I see is that most people don’t have support groups.
You will not get to where you want to go without the help of those who know more than you.
Find people who won’t just take from you.
Find people who will help you build your dreams.
That’s why, for this episode of School of Greatness, I put together a networking mashup. Here are three excerpts from previous interviews with three people whose careers have been made through networking: Keith Ferrazzi, Bozoma Saint John, and Scooter Braun.
Keith Ferrazzi is a two-time NYT bestselling author including Never Eat Alone, which has become a staple among networking books. His firm coaches the very top companies and individuals in how to practice vulnerability and emotional intelligence to create and develop powerful relationships.
Bozama Saint John is the marketing mastermind behind brands such as Pepsi and Beats by Dre. She is currently the Chief Marketing Officer at Endeavor after leaving Uber in June of 2018. She grew up in Africa, went to an ivy-league school, and has overcome a lot in her life.
Scooter Braun is a talent manager, investor, and philanthropist who represent artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Kanye West and more. At the age of 20 he became an agent. In 2013, he was on the Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world. Scooter co-organized the March for Our Lives, the demonstration for stricter gun laws, in 2018.
These three people know that relationships are the key to success.
You don’t have to do everything on your own.
Don’t let fear of asking for help hold you back from networking and accomplishing your goals. Learn how relationships can help you get where you want to go on Episode 704.

668 Unlocking Creativity and Your Personal Genius

668 Unlocking Creativity and Your Personal Genius

“It’s what you do with the tools, not what the tools are themselves” - Casey Neistat
How many times do you try to look for success and fulfillment through logic? You might be looking too hard and in the wrong direction.
Creativity is the key to unlocking your dreams and vision for the future. If you can unlock that creative mindset, you’ll be set for life.
Machines and computers can do logical tasks and hard work, but they’ll never be able to be creative. That’s something only a person can do.
Some people find their creative passions easily, while others feel a struggle. If you’re one who struggles, don’t worry -- finding your unique passions aren’t as hard as you might think.
The key is to let go of your feeling of judgment. Let your mind relax and think about what made you weird or unusual as a child. Those fun oddities are what will make you something big today.
To go more into unlocking your creativity, I wanted to bring you back past episodes from Chase Jarvis, Casey Neistat, Manoush Zomorodi, and Liz Gilbert.
Continuing my mashup series, I felt it was important to bring you the masters of creativity.
These conversations have helped me unlock my passions to new levels and I know they will help you too.
No matter where your creativity lies, if it’s in writing, creating content on YouTube, or still something you are trying to discover, this episode will bring you valuable insights.
Don’t forget to take these lessons and practice them any chance you get. Knowledge is only useful when it’s applied to your life.
So learn all about unlocking and mastering your creative side, on Episode 668.
In This Episode You Will Learn:
    What makes you great (4:35)
    How insecurity helps success (6:26)
The relationship between an audience and content (8:39)

How to Sell to the Affluent, the Experienced, the Wealthy & the Sceptical [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

Rob talks about selling your product or service and how to sell it to a sceptical client. Why you need to honour their knowledge, make them feel special, smart and understood. Why people buy "a better version of themselves" and how to not only sell a product but sell your dream and vision like the most successful entrepreneurs do.
