The squad didn't think they'd have another long hiatus but damn, summer is wild this year. Am 08. und 09. Juni stieg in Wiesbaden eine Hip-Hop-Jam, wie man sie schon lange nicht mehr miterleben konnte: Die Tapefabrik 2023. Niko und Yannick sprechen mit Kai Scholtysik, einem der zuständigen Booker:innen des Festivals, sowie mit Antifuchs, welche auf einer der dortigen Stages eine Performance hingelegt hat. Die vier tauschen Erfahrungsberichte aus und sprechen unter anderem darüber, was Festivals in 2023 an Innovationen fehlt und ob Deutschrap-Artists überhaupt noch Musik für ihre Fans machen, oder viel mehr versuchen, ihr Label und “die Industrie” zufriedenzustellen. Avis aux jeunes passionnés de musique et de danse ! En marge de la fête de la musique de Sélestat, la Communauté de communes lance un appel à candidatures pour sa scène ouverte, qui se tiendra à la Commanderie. DJs et danseurs professionnels seront présents pour accompagner les jeunes participants. Pour ceux qui sont plus intéressés par le street art, une initiation est également proposée. In this episode we meet entrepreneur and women’s empowerment advocate, Sharmadean Reid. Reid has been working tirelessly to champion and enable female excellence since she started her own hip-hop magazine, WAH, while at university in 2005. You may know her from her iconic nail bar chain, WAH Nails, her book New Methods for Women, her funding group, FutureGirlCorp, and her groundbreaking platform, The Stack World, that spotlights women through the strength of community. We are honored and privileged to talk to her today to find out more about her inspirational journey and how she has become a force to be reckoned with.
