    How To Stop Negative Self-Talk

Do you beat yourself up with negative self-talk?

No one can give you a feeling of being worthy. Annie talks about overcoming negative self-talk after a history of abusive relationships. She shifted her self-talk to say, “oh, silly me.” This had a ripple effect in her life, starting with her kids. Changing how she talked to herself was transformative for her and those around her.

How can you be kinder in your relationship with yourself?

Manage Your Time Better to Be More Productive: Writers and Speakers Edition

Manage Your Time Better to Be More Productive: Writers and Speakers Edition

Samantha Lane talks about how a near-death experience showed her that you don’t need to overwork to find your value. Her realization that she shares with others is not to wait to live the life you want. She talks about three pillars: (1) prioritization, (2) plan, and (3) protecting. She encourages people to plan their upcoming week on Fridays.

Samantha shares the quote that changed her life: “How we are spending each day is how we are spending our lives”

She encourages you to ask yourself: “Does my calendar line up with what I feel is important?”

    How to protect your plans

    • Default to saying no or not now
    • Proactively set yourself up for success

She encourages to see time, less as a concept and more as a measurement. For nonfiction writers, Samantha talks about telling your story for others to see themselves in your story and that it’s not actually about you, it’s about the person experiencing your story. Time management is energy management.

    Energy management tips:

    • Identify peak performance time
    • Go to sleep at the same time
    • Increase efficiency and effectiveness
    • Batch your time (you wouldn’t clean one sock at a time)
    • Minimize task switching
    • Create powerful structure
    • Don’t hack at the branches when you need to be addressing the roots

She’s a holistic coach, Licensed RTT practitioner, Certified Hypnotherapist, and author of the book “Courage to Heal.” Overcoming self-doubt is changing your story and changing your self-talk. Let your work feel good to you first. You must like your work before the world can like your work.

This starts with softening your language with yourself. The change happens in little steps, but requires intention and consistency. If you’re not feeling free, you have to understand why you don’t FEEL free. What’s stopping you from having mental freedom?

You have to make a decision that you will not let old stories stop you and then move toward what you want. Freedom happens in the mind when you free yourself from what is blocking you. Don’t let yourself stay stuck somewhere that isn’t serving you. You can move past it. Don’t allow your past to keep you from doing what you want to do, rising, creating, or enjoying your creations.

Heartfelt Lift: Tom Bilyeu Interview on What to Do When People Doubt You

Happy Valentine’s Day week! Here’s one of my favorite love stories- The Bilyeus. When Tom Bilyeu asked Lisa’s father for his blessing, he originally said no, but listen to hear how he came around.

It’s Katie Moran and here’s your heartfelt lift. Today I’m here with Tom Bilyeu who went from scrounging couch cushions for change to building a billion dollar business and he’s on a quest to build the next Disney.

When Tom promised to make Lisa rich one day, he knew he had to change his life. He felt shame, captured that energy, and transformed it into a reason to go “all in” on his screenplay. He started moving forward toward the problem.

Listen to how Tom outworked his potential and used the voices of those who believed in him and those who didn’t believe in him to do it.
