Patrick Boadu ist Geschäftsführer und Verantwortungseigetümer bei soulbottles (soulproducts GmbH) in Berlin. Soulbottles begeistert seit zehn Jahren Menschen für nachhaltigen Konsum, gehört sich selbst und ermöglichte mehr als 100.000 Menschen Zugang zu sauberem Trinkwasser.
Als engagierter Sozialunternehmer ist Patrick davon überzeugt, dass die Zukunftsfähigkeit des Planeten nur mit einer neuen Art und Weise des Wirtschaftens zu schaffen ist. Als studierter Politologe und Ökonom berät er Unternehmen zu Impact-Messung, Gemeinwohlökonomie und Purpose-Findung. Intersektionalität und Sichtbarmachung von Machtstrukturen sind für ihn essentiell für die neue Art von Wirtschaften.

Die Pause war lang, der Sommer heiß und wir nicht untätig. Vor allem Moritz. Denn: Mit der Gründung seines eigenen Social Business hat sich Moe einen großen Traum erfüllt. Dieser Traum heißt sochili und soll schon sehr bald fair produzierte Chilisaucen auf den Markt bringen, die gleichzeitig sozialen Impact auf dem afrikanischen Kontinent bewirken.
Worum gehts? Insbesondere im ländlichen Raum Senegals herrscht extreme Energie-Armut – jede zweite Person hat keinen dauerhaften Zugang zu Strom. Hinzu kommt, dass die ein Großteil der Landbevölkerung mit weniger als 2€ am Tag auskommen muss. Damit ist ein selbstbestimmtes Leben für viele schlicht nicht möglich.
Der soziale Impact von sochili? Mit dem Anbau von Chilis den Menschen Zugang schaffen zu fairer Arbeit, Strom & ökologische Landwirtschaft.

67. Good Work and Recycling with Jessica Floresco
Jessica Floresco is the General Manager at Mother Earth Recycling (MER). Mother Earth Recycling does a variety of electronic and mattress recycling which reduces waste in the Winnipeg area. In addition, they are a work integration social enterprise, providing good jobs to people who have otherwise been excluded from the workforce, and MER gives their employees the skills and experience for them to build confidence and self direction.
Beyond these social enterprise elements, Mother Earth Recycling is also an indigenous owned and led organization. They provide an excellent example for other organizations and people in how they can interact with the work world and how they can operate their businesses.

64. Sandra Allen on Shift's Intentional Cooperative Culture
Sandra Allen is a Member, Co-Owner, Board Member and People Team Lead for Shift Delivery Co-op. Shift Delivery is a last mile carrier based in Vancouver, Canada that uses e-assist trikes instead of motor vehicles for their deliveries.
Sandra describes the value that Shift has in it's people, how they onboard new staff and help them prepare and transition into becoming members, and how Shift has been able to maintain their company culture. One intentional decision that contributes to their culture is that all members do the foundational work of triking and making deliveries.
