    Johann Tetzel

    Johann Tetzel

In the early 16th Century, the Christian church was in turmoil. Despite growing to be the dominant force in Europe, it was rife with numerous theological errors. The doctrine of indulgence sales was particularly erroneous and proved to be the main catalyst for Martin Luther to present the 95 Theses. The main propagator of indulgence sales was one of the most infamous villains in the history of the church. He was a Dominican friar and church charlatan known as Johann Tetzel.

    562. Wear Your Coat

    562. Wear Your Coat
In the Bible, we read about Joseph and his coat of many colors. When Joseph received this gift from his father, he never could have imagined the life ahead of him. Fresh off the mission field, Evangelist Caleb Wampler challenges you in today’s episode to “wear your coat” and not back down from the call of God on your life!

Wear the coat God gave you, and wear it the right way. When Joseph received his coat, he flaunted it in front of his jealous brothers, which led to a spiral of other events. Yet God’s plan was still accomplished through Joseph. The coat was indicative of the favor of God on his life. He learned to humble himself and be faithful with the favor he had in every season. Do all you can with what you have. Don’t back down because of your circumstances. God is with you!

    David’s Kindness

    David’s Kindness

This week’s passage is 2 Samuel 9:1-13. David remembering the promise he made to Jonathan in 1 Samuel 20:14&15. David restores Mephibosheth and gives him a place at the table. David took him from living in fear and restored him. David knew that everything he had was from God. David was not afraid to be generous. We have to let go of our fears to receive what God has for us. Sometimes we get to a low spot and forget our true value as children of God. To see the restoration in this story is beautiful. The Faithfulness of God to pull us from our situation and restore us to where we should be, in His presence.
