“Something’s gotta change and that something is YOU” with Damon West

Damon West grew up in a caring, well-connected family with traditional values. In college, he was the starting quarterback for University of North Texas with big dreams. But after a career-ending injury prevented him from playing football, he fell into a depression and began to spiral down a path of destruction and hard core drugs. This path would continue post-graduation where he was introduced to methamphetamines by another coworker while training to be a stockbroker with United Bank of Switzerland. He was instantly hooked. The severity of his addiction led him to becoming the mastermind of a burglary ring where he caused irreversible harm to many innocent people until he was eventually caught and sentenced to 65 years in prison.

During his incarceration, Damon had a discussion with a seasoned convict that would change his whole outlook on life. The story of the coffee bean. He used the advice given to him to begin his journey to recovery and redemption.

During this episode of BRob Inspired, Damon tells us the story of how he went from behind bars to becoming a global inspiration. He is living proof that you hold the power is inside to forge your own destiny.

The first day he and his father went swimming in the water when his father was suddenly caught up in a rough spot known as Witches Brew. After a frantic attempt to save him, Blake watched as his dad’s life slipped away before his very eyes, and he was pronounced dead.

“If I’m Going to Die, I’m Going to Die Running” with Marie-Christine Williams

14 years old, alone, barefoot, without food or shelter, and on the run from strangers trying to kill her for nearly 100 days. This is the reality that Marie-Christine Williams faced during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide that massacred almost one million Tutsi men, women, and children. She was forced to bear witness to what no child should. She is alive today thanks to her faith, strength, brainpower, and tenacity to prove that she was not the “worthless” person her father used to tell her she was. She didn’t know who she could trust, just that she had to survive.

Abandoned as a baby, she was forced to spend years of her childhood suffering from abuse by her father and being bullied for being “different”. In this episode, Marie-Christine takes us back to the months leading up to the genocide, and that fateful day when the Hutu death squads burst into her house and changed her whole world as she knew it. Bring the tissue box because this miraculous story is bound to move and inspire you in ways you couldn’t imagine.
