Everyone Has A Story: A Generous Gospel | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

    enOctober 25, 2022

    About this Episode

As we continue our series “Everyone Has A Story” in The Story Project Season 2, we get to hear Melissa’s story and understand that the only way to transform our lives is through accepting Jesus’ grace.

We help people discover a full life with God.

This is good, really good news.

Life, grace, God's gift of salvation is a pure gift. It is beyond expectation; better than we hoped; radically generous; and very good news. In the present, and in eternity.

That’s the story we’re telling...it’s the story behind The Story Project. It’s what we mean when we say every story can have a hopeful ending.

No fine print, no gotcha, no dark side. This is a generous gospel!

The peace and confidence you’re looking for is right in Romans 8. But let’s not fool ourselves–it’s also elusive.

It’s not easy to develop something invisible. Mental fortitude, the presence of the Spirit, a deep inner peace—we see their effects, so we know they’re powerful. But how to get them? Sometimes, it can feel like grasping at a vapor!

As we continue our series, “Secret Life of Confident People,” we uncover the promise of God not only to be with you but to be in you and how this promise unfolds in your life.

A New Voice | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

A New Voice | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

What would a confident life look like for you? A bit less anxiousness? A new way of talking? Some swagger or maybe just a calm smile?

Confidence doesn’t come in just one size, but we all long for a bit of it. The central chapter of what some call Paul’s most significant book, Romans 8, is the story of the secret life of confident people. This is not an exercise in cheerleading, and it’s no idle promise. Instead, it grabs the core of who we are and where we struggle and speaks true words to our souls.

In our new Sunday message series, we uncover what lies in the secret life of confident people.

Purposeful Faith | Youth Pastor Johnny Paparo | Cape Cod Church

Purposeful Faith | Youth Pastor Johnny Paparo | Cape Cod Church

Regardless of our diverse backgrounds and the unique paths we’ve walked, there’s one universal truth: we all have a story.

Our narratives differ from the movies we watch or the books we read. Unlike those scripted tales, our stories unfold in the middle pages, where our choices shape the direction they take. The Bible speaks directly to those who identify as followers of Jesus. The term ‘Exceptionalism’ would probably best describe them—the condition of being distinct. It’s essential to note that being exceptional doesn’t mean being superior; rather, it signifies embracing a different path.

In this Sunday message, we look at how exceptionalism comes into play as we journey through life, facing various challenges. All people go through some of the same situations. The pivotal question within our unique stories isn’t merely how we navigate some of these same trials but, more importantly, how we emerge from them!

The Day of Rest | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

    Rest...why is it so hard?

Rest isn’t physical. It’s not physical first. It’s spiritual, then emotional, then maybe physical. But you knew that or have at least experienced it. Since the beginning, we were made for rest, so why is it so hard?

As we wrap up our series, “Since the Beginning,” we celebrate rest and explore a road map to restoration and a few tips for the trip.

The Story of Grace | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

The Story of Grace | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

Since the beginning… that’s where we find answers.

We don’t need anyone to tell us it’s bad out there. We get that it’s painfully obvious. What we want and what we need is a guide to find beauty, and we want to know that beauty wins. The first pages of the Bible introduce us to the bad, and they remind us how we crave justice...and then?

As we continue our series, “Since the Beginning,” we explore something surprising—a plot twist: grace. Grace is the gift we didn’t know we needed until we needed it.

    Sexuality, Marriage, and Friendship.

Since the beginning, these have been God’s good gifts to us—gifts for our flourishing, to help us live full lives.

As we continue our series, “Since the Beginning,” we will go back to the beginning to unfold God’s beauty and design in these gifts. And we will finish with Jesus and His invitation to you, to me, to all of us, “Come to me all who are weary, and I will give you rest.”

Whole People | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

Whole People | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

A newborn baby’s smile… an untouched landscape or a clear night sky… even that new car smell. Each reminds us of something new and unspoiled—the way it was meant to be.

If we want to know who we are and are meant to be, we will need to go back to the beginning. That’s where we’ll find the story of our identity, insight into our potential, and maybe even hints for a way forward.

As we kick off a new series, we’ll explore what God wanted for you—“Since the beginning.”

A Church You Can Invest In | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

A Church You Can Invest In | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

It began 30 years ago with a question...“If you were looking for a church, what would you look for?”

Here’s one thing I would look for… a church I could invest in. No one wants to spin their wheels or waste their time. We want to make a difference in the world.

As we continue our “Church Home” series, we explore God’s vision for the church—a community of people making a difference in the world, pointing people to Jesus. He wants to give them life, a full life, as a gift. That’s something we can all be a part of.

A Church You Can Count On | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

A Church You Can Count On | Pastor Ben Feldott | Cape Cod Church

“If you were looking for a church, what would you look for?”

This is one of the very first questions our launch survey asked our neighbors 31 years ago, at the outset of Cape Cod Church. We got lots of answers, and they all helped us know people better.

As we continue our series, “Church Home,” we’ll flip the script and talk about the four things to look for in a church. You can count on these four things, and you will see why.

A Place to Grow | Pastor Tom Maine | Cape Cod Church

“Church.” It’s a loaded word, isn’t it? One that may bring warm thoughts to some, ‘meh’ thoughts to others, and even angry thoughts to a few. But what, exactly, is church for? What’s its purpose? And why is it so important?

As we kick off a new series, “Church Home,” we’ll explore those questions together because I guess you come to church for a few different reasons — but mostly because you’re looking for a place to connect with others and make a difference. And your Church Home should help you do just that. First, we’ll explore how community helps us grow into better versions of ourselves because that’s the key to fulfilling our own purpose, as well as the church’s.
