 Recently, Randi Weingarten, the radical, Leftist, open lesbian President of the National Federation of Teachers-the largest U.S. teacher's union--made herself a candidate for the 2023 "Clueless Award" by asking, "What's behind the increase in homeschooling?"  This after pushing COVID shutdowns, transgenderism, drag queens in schools, men in girl's bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers, eroding parental rights, CRT, DEI, and overall Marxist, godless ideology.  So, what's happening in our public schools, and should Christian parents allow their children to attend them?

The legislative war against the LGBTQ+ community has been relentless and according to powerhouse civil rights attorney Alejandra Caraballo it may get even worse next year. Conservative republicans have introduced over 500 state bills this year alone to deny healthcare, threaten businesses and allies, and to try to force LGBTQ+ folks back into closets and shadows. But there are things we can do - and the first thing is to congratulate Alejandra.

In this episode of the National Crawford Roundtable Podcast we discuss the First GOP Primary Debate of 2023 and the Strategic Focus of the GOP.  How wise is it for Donald Trump to be absent from the GOP debate?  What should be the focus of the GOP for 2024?  Should they focus on social issues like abortion, transgenderism, religious liberties, parental rights, culture wars, etc.?  Or, should they leave those topics alone and focus on more secular issues like the economy, energy independence, border security, crime, trade, foreign policy, etc.?

Most Christian organizations, at least in the recent past, operate with foundational documents, not only bylaws but doctrinal statements, maybe a staff lifestyle statement, and possibly position statements on matters key to their mission. This is not news. What is news is that now, given rapid social or should we say moral change, many Christian foundational statements are ill-prepared and out of date. For example, while they may talk about alcoholic beverages, they typically did not speak to legalized marijuana, or while they might refer in the past to gambling, now gambling has gone mainstream and "everybody does it." More concerning, however, are social developments re abortion, LGBTQ+, same-sex marriage, sexual orientation and gender identity aka SOGI. Christian organizations, the conservative ones anyway, the ones that want to maintain fidelity to the Scripture, are working or need to work toward revising their foundational statements in a manner that addresses these new issues.
