    S6E329 - Traveling Wilburys 'Vol. 1' with D.A. Stern

    S6E329 - Traveling Wilburys 'Vol. 1' with D.A. Stern

A supergroup to end all supergroups, the Traveling Wilburys (George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne) and their mega-platinum debut, Vol. 1, is at-the-end-of-the-day a chronicle of 5 supremely gifted musicians making some music together and clearly enjoying each other's company. This week's guest, Los Angeles musician D.A. Stern, can't remember a time when this record WASN'T a part of his life, and we leave our cynicism at the door as we dig into this once-in-a-lifetime classic.

Songs discussed in this episode: Not Alone Anymore - Roy Orbison (Demo Version); Acid Winter, Not A Punk - D.A. Stern; When We Was Fab - George Harrison; Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra; Handle With Care, Dirty World, Rattled, Last Night - Traveling Wilburys; You Got It - Roy Orbison; Not Alone Anymore, Congratulations, Heading For The Light, Margarita, Tweeter and the Monkey Man - Traveling Wilburys; Blinded By The Light - Bruce Springsteen; End Of The Line - Traveling Wilburys; Lovebird (feat. Sarah Chernoff) - D.A. Stern

GTA VI kommt endlich, KISS bald digital, Advent beim Maifeld Derby & Billies „Coming-Out“

GTA VI kommt endlich, KISS bald digital, Advent beim Maifeld Derby & Billies „Coming-Out“

1988 - Supergroup der 80er: The Traveling Wilburys

1988 - Supergroup der 80er: The Traveling Wilburys
++++++++++Song-Tipps zur Folge++++++++++ "Handle With Care“, „Dirty World", "Rattled", "Not Alone Any More", "Heading for The Light", "Tweeter and the Monkey Man", "End Of The Line", „She’s My Baby“, „Inside Out“, „Where Were You Last Night?“, „Cool Dry Place“, „New Blue Moon“, „Wilbury Twist“

    213. The Power of Feedback: Exploring How Taste Shapes our Creative Endeavors

    213. The Power of Feedback: Exploring How Taste Shapes our Creative Endeavors

The Importance of Confidence in the Creative Process: "Invite someone else into your process. Have someone else that you can use as a sounding board who can help bring their taste to match your taste or maybe not even sometimes match it, but sometimes to challenge it. So that you can really be clear on what it is that you are aiming at, what quality you consider to be the standard and what you're willing to accept and not accept when it comes to what you're creating."
    — Mike Brennan

I recently had the chance to watch a documentary on Amazon Prime about the making of Tom Petty's iconic album, Wildflowers. It was a fascinating deep dive into the creative process and the power of collaboration.

I couldn't help but draw some valuable insights from this documentary that I wanted to share with all of you.

🔑 Key Takeaway #1: Embrace Feedback: Tom Petty, a renowned artist with a string of hits, recognized the value of inviting someone else's feedback into his process. No matter your level of expertise, seeking out different perspectives can push your creativity to new heights.

🔑 Key Takeaway #2: Collaboration is Key: When Tom Petty teamed up with Rick Rubin, a record producer with a different musical background, they brought fresh ideas to the table. Their collaboration allowed them to create something unique and take their artistry in a new direction. Don't be afraid to work with others who have different skill sets or perspectives—they might just bring out the best in you.

🔑 Key Takeaway #3: Trust Your Taste: Rick Rubin's expertise wasn't in playing instruments or writing songs, but he had an incredible ability to recognize when a song reached its full potential. Trusting your own taste and artistic instincts is crucial in creating work that resonates with others.

    #126 - Mighty Oaks

    #126 - Mighty Oaks
Also probiere ich mal was damit zu schreiben. "

1989 - Ein kleines Meisterwerk: Tom Pettys "Full Moon Fever"

1989 - Ein kleines Meisterwerk: Tom Pettys "Full Moon Fever"
"Free Fallin'", "I Won't Back Down", "Runnin' Down a Dream", ... ++++++++++Song-Tipps zur Folge++++++++++ "Free Fallin", "I Won't Back Down", "A Face In The Crowd", "Runnin' Down A Dream", "Yer So Bad", "Depending On You", "Zombie Zoo"

Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill"

Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill"

After rocketing to worldwide fame in the early Nineties as an actress and a member of the Fugees, Lauryn Hill took a big risk with her solo debut, 1998's "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". It made her an even bigger star at age 23, sold millions of copies, and won her five Grammy Awards, which is the most any woman before her had taken home in a single night. But in the years following Miseducation's blockbuster success, Hill all but exited public life. Though she has since returned to touring and has released one-off singles, she has yet to release a proper follow-up to her one solo album.

In the latest episode of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums, Hill's collaborators and confidants detail the ambitious, personal recording process along with the complicated decades that have followed, including legal disputes with some of those same collaborators. While Hill rarely grants interviews, she also responded to e-mail questions from Rolling Stone for this episode, providing detailed new insights on an album that has become so influential and beloved that it landed at Number 10 on our brand-new poll of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, making it the highest-ranking hip-hop album on the new list.

    #62 Sound of da police

    #62 Sound of da police
