The Super Bowl commercials are in some cases a bigger event than the game itself. And they become part of pop culture for years to come. We remember the Budweiser Clydesdales, or the 1984 Apple commercial that only aired one time.

Friday the US announced it will begin strikes on militias in Iraq and Syria as retaliation for fatal drone attack.

The fight continues between the state of Texas and the federal government over the border. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) said the state will keep using razor wire along the border, even if the federal government keeps cutting it down. This goes against a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Iowa caucuses were held in the middle of a nasty winter storm last week. Tuesday is the first voting primary for the 2024 presidential election in New Hampshire. If you believe the polls, this election day in New Hampshire is former President Donald Trump's to lose. On Tuesday's Ask The Expert, we get some insight from Republican strategist Vinny Minchillo.

It's been wild the last few days with the weather in North Texas. Last week, there were days when the temperature dropped below freezing. Weather can impact everyone, but it's especially tough for the homeless and for other people who just don't get enough to eat daily. Jeff Smith joined Monday's Ask the Expert. We've been talking about the need to conserve power for the last few days, as this cold blast hit all of the state over the last 24 hours.

You will need a lot of extra patience as we head out of town for the Christmas holidays. AAA Texas says today is the busiest travel day on the roads for Christmas. Around 9 million Texans will go at least 50 miles from home.

To put it into perspective, that's about a third of the state's population! Add to it the possibility of some nasty weather during the weekend, you're going to want to be even more careful.

This time of year might not bring all the peace on Earth for everyone. Thousands of North Texans won't have a Merry Christmas or a Happy New Year, because they are dealing with hunger or food insecurity. That's an issue that runs 24/7 and 365 days a year.
