In a few hours, passengers from a LATAM flight that ended with dozens of passengers needing medical attention on landing in Auckland will be taking off again. The replacement flight to Santiago Chile is expected to take off around 8:00pm. Meanwhile, the cause of the incident is still being investigated. Yesterday, a LATAM flight from Sydney to Auckland suddenly lost altitude yesterday, sending dozens of passengers flying into the air with about 50 needing medical attention. Passengers onboard yesterday's LATAM airlines flight from Sydney to Auckland have described their terror as the plane lost altitude, dropping 300 feet throwing people and their belongings into the air. 50 people, most of whom were not wearing seatbelts, required medical treatment for their injuries following the incident which occured around 2 hours into the flight.

Survivors and witnesses of the LynnMall terror attack want the coroner to hold a public inquest to determine whether the events of that day could have been prevented. Ahamed Samsudeen was not long out of prison when he stabbed 8 people at a supermarket and was fatally shot by police in 2021. A hearing is underway in Auckland to determine the scope and form of a coronial inquiry into his death, which has been the subject of five state agency investigations. Amy Williams reports.
