CAA को लेकर दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने केंद्र सरकार पर निशाना साधा है. केजरीवाल ने प्रेस कांफ्रैंस पर बीजेपी पर कई आरोप लगाए. इस दौरान केजरीवाल ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार चुनावी फायदे के लिए CAA को लेकर आई है. साथ ही केजरीवाल ने आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी इसके जरिए वोट बैंक की राजनीति कर रही है.

इंडियन यूनियन मुस्लिम लीग (IUML) ने नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम (CAA) के तहत केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा अधिसूचित नियमों के कार्यान्वयन पर रोक लगाने की मांग करते हुए सुप्रीम कोर्ट (Supreme Court) में याचिका दायर की है. अपनी याचिका में मुस्लिम लीग ने कहा है कि नागरिकता संशोधन नियम मनमाने हैं और केवल धार्मिक पहचान के आधार पर व्यक्तियों के एक वर्ग को अनुचित लाभ देते हैं, जो संविधान के अनुच्छेद 14 और 15 का उल्लंघन है.

Addressing a public meeting in Hyderabad, Home Minister Amit Shah assured the CAA won't forfeit anyone's citizenship. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Asaduddin Owaisi are lying about the CAA. "Congress, AIMIM, and BRS oppose the government's move to grant citizenship to the persecuted minorities through CAA. CAA will not forfeit anyone's citizenship. It's a law that grants citizenship and not take it away... Owaisi, Kharge, and Rahul Gandhi are all lying," said Amit Shah.

CAA Notification Updates: केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने नागरिकता (संशोधन) अधिनियम(CAA) 2019 के तहत भारतीय नागरिकता के लिए आवेदन करने के पात्र लोगों के लिए मंगलवार को एक Portal 'लॉन्च' किया. एक आधिकारिक प्रवक्ता ने यह जानकारी दी. यह कदम सरकार द्वारा सीएए 2019 के कार्यान्वयन के लिए नियमों को अधिसूचित करने के एक दिन बाद आया है.

CAA Latest News: With the Centre issuing a notification for the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act, non-Muslim migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan fleeing religious persecution can now seek Indian citizenship. The Centre has laid down the step-by-step process to apply for citizenship under this law.

The government on Monday notified the rules for the Citizenship (Amendment) Act to fast-track citizenship for persecuted non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who came to India before December 31, 2014. Those opposed to the CAA in Assam feel it will dilute the Assam accord but the big question is will the CAA benefit the Hindus who are among the 19 lakh people who did not make it to the NRC. NDTV's Ratnadip Choudhury spoke to Guwahati high court lawyer Aman Wadud who has been for years following the legal implications of Assam's citizenship debate.

The government today reiterated that the newly-implemented Citizenship Amendment Act or CAA doesn't curtail the freedom and opportunity of Indian Muslims amid sharp criticism from the opposition, which terms the move as discriminatory and motivated by the approaching Lok Sabha elections. It also asserted that there is no bar on Muslims from anywhere in the world to seek Indian citizenship.

Countering the Opposition's charge over the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said the Congress had opposed the law for "appeasement" and "vote bank politics". But elsewhere in the country in non-BJP states,  opposition to the CAA has shot up. In Bengal, the Trinamool Congress says this is a step before the National Register of Citizens is introduced which will result in innocent people being taken to detention camps.

CAA Implemented In India: The government on Monday evening issued a notification for the Citizenship Amendment Act, or CAA, which comes into effect today weeks before the 2024 Lok Sabha election. The CAA was cleared by Parliament in December 2019 amid protests by activists and opposition politicians. Now that the notification has been issued, the central government can grant citizenship to persons belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi, Jain, or Christian communities - from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan - who came to India on or before December 31, 2014 to flee from religious persecution.

Even as the Congress and Opposition parties questioned the timing of the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), calling it divisive and an attempt to polarise voters ahead of elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said the Congress had opposed the law for "appeasement" and "vote bank politics". Amit Shah addressed social media warriors of the BJP at Secunderabad, where he set a target of 12 and more Lok Sabha seats from Telangana. Uma Sudhir reports.

States like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala have refused to implement CAA, but now that it is a notified law, will it lead to another constitutional confrontation?
