Lone Shark Podcast

Well this is it.  The final episode of the The Lone Shark Podcast is a virtual compendium of the four years we've spent running the gamut from awful to awesome.  Guests aplenty drop by (well virtually) to wish Jim and Sean well.  I'll come back and rewrite this description to single out the friends of the show who made this last one the shizz.  Thanks all, it's been a fun almost-four years!

A holiday extravaganza like no other.  Tales of euthanizing felines and a decent proposal (unless you count the hundreds of dollars spent in 90 Day Fiancé Cameo videos).  Catch up with Jim and Sean as Jim and Sean catch up.  It's the most recent episode of 2021!

It's a Lone Shark wrapped in a Lone Shark smothered in a Lone Shark.  Watch would happens when Jim cheats on his best gal (Sean the Producer) and proceeds to go all cucky with friend of the show Doctor Lovejoy?  Confused?  Why wouldn't you be!

What becomes a 17 year old minor league hockey General Manager?  We find out tonight when Danbury Trashers former Owner AJ Galante joins us to talk about the amazing Netflix documentary chronicling the rise and fall of the notorious Danbury Trashers of the UHL. 

Jim's autism kicks in as he becomes obsessed with the recent Woodstock 99 documentary on HBO, and proceeds to get Sean enraged as well.  After deconstructing the "documentary", we speak to Vermont musician Gary Wade, who attended the event and offers a reality check to the folks responsible for this agenda driven piece of revisionist history.  Oh and 3X World Series champ Curt Schilling puts those "second episode" rumors to bed (OK, maybe literally NO ONE was asking for it but that's beside the point)

Connecticut comic and friend of the show Gary Alexis returns from "college" to share some amazing stories about life in "the joint".  We also celebrate Pride month with Norm MacDonald various other sundry nonsense as we approach the 100,000 downloads milestone (no thanks to Ireland).

A "Proof of Life" episode just to demonstrate that we are still both free of COVID death and still in the podcast game.  Jim puts the breathalyzer, and Sean's patience to the test.  Disc golf hits misses in Westchester, and one of our hosts will regale you with a dream recap that includes music icons "Bad Brains", clam chowder, and a little town called in Connecticut called Cheshire. 

Connecticut comic and self professed entomologist Brii Hiltz (@brii_hiltz on Instagram) takes a break from her many appearances on the Beer Man Beer podcast to show why blackface is not always offensive, and how she was a walk-on Connecticut pageant winner.  We also discover that blackface is OK when it is in the context of choo choo train track frosting cosplay.  Confused?  Then you should prolly give it a listen.  What other show boasts a Debbie Gibson paid homage to your favorite podcast?!

Back for the attack, Jim and Sean ramp back up in '21 with two guests for your consideration.  First we chat up Officer Danny Brown of Live PD fame (now Captain Danny Brown) to discuss the abrupt cancellation of the show and punch some holes in the notion of systemic racism throughout an entire profession.  If that doesn't have you triggered, than comedian Nick DiPaolo (thecomicsgym.com and nickdip.com) will close the deal.

In a move that no one saw coming, three time World Series champ and Roberto Clemente award winner (and Twitter instigator extraordinaire) links up with the Lone Shark Podcast's "maestro of minutiae" for a sojourn into the sophomoric.  Curt and Shark are joined by comedian Nick DiPaolo and the current "King of Kong" and Donkey Kong Guiness World Record holder Robbie Lakeman.  ...and you better believe we turn some tables on the sanctimonious baseball writers who would deign to keep 38 out the MLB Hall of Fame.  It's the "hang" you didn't ask for and had no idea you needed.

Three time World Series champ and bona fide Yankee killer Curt Schilling mixes it up with Jim and Sean.  Curt shows us why he is a first ballot hall of famer in the game of life.

Next, we speak with Xanthe Pajarillo, the original McRib girl who took her cause to the Santa Clarita city council and the show's favorite furry Pepper Coyote sings a Sharky scribed homage to the faux pork phenomenon.

Comedian Jim Norton (aka Chip Chipperson) makes an appearance as well.

It's a 2020 year end extravagonzo!

What goes into making a "lost episode"?  Tequila, and plenty of it.  Jim explains that the show he and Sean did from three days ago will never see the light of day.  Timothy Treadwell had a better time of it.  Curt Schilling is a no-brainer hall of famer as we do some new stuff, and rehash some old stuff.  Don't drink and drive, kids!

Connecticut comedy mainstay "Jackson" fills in for Sean the Producer in the first ever guest hosting spot.  Bridgeport's own Wassan Jackson (or is it Jackson Wassan) finally tells us about his YouTube short film (Jackson, A Comedy Love Story).  We break the news to Sean, and we learn why the Ocean Spray cranberry juice guy has nothing on Little LA Jay Trujillo, the "Bud Light" guy.

After last week's prediction of a Trump win, hosts Jim and Sean eat some crow and take their lumps, while they hale the many guests on the show who got it right.  That said, we still find some time to mock Van Jones and Stephen Colbert for their pearl clutching horse dung.  Finally, Word Axe Throwing League champ Mike Kump takes a victory lap after his doubles win in Chicago and talks about cartoony sized checks and offers up a fantastic breakup song by The Mountain Goats.

It's Election 2020 eve and there's no need for a Quinnipiac poll.  We get a random sampling from friends of the show.  American Idol's Brian Dunkleman weighs in, as does America's favorite furry Pepper Coyote.  We batten down the hatches and board up the storefront.  We also hear from business man turned farmer turned YouTube celebrity Morgan Gold (Gold Shaw Farm).  Oh also we cry about cats and compare breakup songs.

Living legend, father of PC graphics, and half of Sierra On-Line's Ken and Roberta Williams joins Jim and Sean to talk about his book Not All Fairy Tales Have Happy Endings  (The Rise and Fall of Sierra On-Line).  Fresh of his appearance in Netflix's High Score docuseries, Ken regales us with tales from his book...stepping us through the rise and fall (and rise and fall) of Sierra-Online.  We talk figure 8 race tracks, running a newspaper syndicate, and sailing the world.  See www.kensbook.com for more details.

The best laid plans of mice and men (and, apparently, sharks) often go awry as host Jim Sharky devises a scheme to curry favor with the No Agenda podcast.  We also speak with our favorite "furry" and Lone Shark political correspondent Pepper Coyote who talks about furry conventions (or lack thereof) in the age of the 'Rona.  Finally, in a rare LSP three part-er, we endeavor to catch up with our favorite "Okee from Muskogee" (underline "endeavor").

We go from William Hung to "hung jury" of sorts as Jim and Sean aren't as in "lock step" as you might think.  Also, the Who are these Podcasts guys are some No Agenda-pandering MFers.  Also, we talk about other shit.  If you need to read this description to figure out if you are into it then go suck lemons.

Jim and Sean demonstrate their innate ability to take lemons and make podcast lemonade with this guest free, discursive, sojourn into the sophomoric.  We take a look at the current "King of Kong" arms race, and our own "grinder" (Sean the Producer) steps up and basks in the glow of Lone Shark attention.  Also, Amazon Alexa screws the show over.

Jim and Sean are "keeping it local" in the wake of tropical storm Isaiah, and holding it down for the fine folks of Ridgefield, Connecticut (from where we broadcast).  As you'll hear, not all heroes wear capes.  Also, we listen to clips from Brad Garrett and Rob Lowe as we talk about Jim's battles with the bottle.  We also pay tribute to Connecticut comic Dr. Jay Sutay who is gone too soon.  Sean tells us why he's been sans automobile for over 2 weeks....and, oh yeah, and Huey Lewis has a large penis.
