    About this Episode

Chris sits down with the mighty Tommy Victor of Prong, Danzig, Ministry and more. From the old days in the wilds of NYC, getting started at CBGB and being chased by hordes of rats to musical influences, post-COVID outlooks for bands and the recent birth of his son, Tommy has more great stories, interesting insights and wise perspectives to share than could possibly be explored in one sitting...but we certainly covered a lot!

    Episode 22: Alastair Duncan

    Episode 22: Alastair Duncan

Chris connects with the versatile, prolific and talented Alastair Duncan - well known as the long-running voice of Alfred in various animated installments of the Batman franchise and from his voice and motion capture work in major video game properties such as God of War, Shadow of Mordor, Call of Duty, Metal Gear Rising, Mass Effect, Uncharted and many more.

He is also a seasoned on-screen actor in movies and shows such as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Mad Men, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Angel, Leverage, Babylon 5, Xena: Warrior Princess, Highlander, NCIS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Bones, Castle, The Mentalist...and many more.

We had a great conversation covering everything from voice acting death scenes, violence in video games and the legacy of Alfred in the Batman franchise to the intrepid work of skunk wranglers and the emerging trend of NFTs (non-fungible tokens).

Given the secrecy of the worlds in which Alastair works, we couldn't talk much about upcoming projects, but one has been announced for release on June 22, 2021, in which he'll be reprising his role of Alfred - Batman: The Long Halloween, Part 1. As the darker side of the Batman universe, even the horror fans may find some stuff they love in that one.

Following this episode, the Sent To Destroy team will be taking a much needed short summer break so take this time to catch up on prior episodes you may have missed and we'll be back in no time at all with more epic weekly episodes.

Episode 21: Great Women of Horror and Metal

Episode 21: Great Women of Horror and Metal

Chris sits down with Dave and JP to reminisce on some of the great women who've made important contributions to the worlds of horror and metal. This was a pretty off the cuff conversation so it is by no means an exhaustive list, but more of a fun conversation about the women who come to mind as having directly impacted each of us individually as fans.

The conversation was prompted by our recent discover of a new book by Alexandra Heller-Nicholas called 1000 Women in Horror, 1895-2018. We're going to be giving it a read and letting you all know in case you want to go pick up a copy.

    Episode 20: Mistress Damiana Chi

    Episode 20: Mistress Damiana Chi

Chris sits down with veteran Los Angeles Professional Dominatrix, Mistress Damiana Chi, and her collared slave, Charles, for a fascinating conversation about the fetish, kink and BDSM world. We, of course, touched on some horror, rock and metal themes along the way.

Beyond her 20+ years working as a Pro Domme, Mistress Damiana brings a lot of layers to her work and the conversation on this episode with her academic background and the broader range of services she provides. She has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, a Masters in counseling psychology and a B.A. in behavioral studies. She is also a certified sexologist, providing kink-knowledgeable life coaching and BDSM psychodrama play therapy to individuals and couples and she continues to session as a Pro Domme out of her Los Angeles dungeon - The Chi Temple. As if all that weren't enough, she has recently launched The Dominatrix Archetype Academy where she provides in-depth training and certifications.

A lot of ground was covered in this conversation from depictions of BDSM in entertainment - hitting on Hellraiser, Vampire movies, David Cronenburg's Crash, Secretary, The Addams Family and others - to many of the deeper realities, principles and fundamentals of the fetish, kink and BDSM lifestyle - like the intense focus on trust, respect, consent, ethics and intimacy - and with Charles joining the conversation we were also able to weave in perspectives and insights from the submissives' point of view.

It was an extremely entertaining and interesting conversation with something for everyone, whether involved in these lifestyles or just curious to learn about a world beyond your own interests and experiences. There were also some unexpected takeaways that could be valuable for the general public if better appreciated and understood.

    Episode 19: R.A. Mihailoff

    Episode 19: R.A. Mihailoff

Chris connects with horror icon, R.A. Mihailoff - perhaps most well known for his role as Leatherface in the third installment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise - Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III - and tons of other great films and franchises throughout the years like Hatchet II, Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings and way more others than we can list here.

R.A. is far from limited to swinging around chainsaws and bringing the pain in horror movies. We got into all sorts of other stuff during this great conversation from his pretty serious love of food and cooking to his time in the ring as a professional wrestler and beyond. We also got a great preview of a Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel that he wrote and some details on the whereabouts of that classic engraved golden chainsaw!

For the R.A. fans out there, he'll be hitting the convention circuit as things start to open back up so keep your eyes and ears open for opportunities to catch him at one of those.

    Episode 17: James Payne

Chris sits down for the first interview with metal drummer James Payne following the recent announcement that he'll be taking over behind the kit for Canadian death metal giants Kataklysm

James is still also playing for Hiss From The Mote, a death metal band out of Italy - his homeland before making the jump to Los Angeles - and he's previously played with Hour of Penance, Vital Remains, Necromega and others. He also teaches his unique approaches, perspectives and techniques on metal drumming through his website - www.jamespaynedrums.com.

    Episode 14: Diane Franklin

    Episode 14: Diane Franklin

Chris connects with the beautiful and always charming Diane Franklin. Horror fans will most certainly remember Diane from Amityville II: The Possession and her catalogue of work in film and television goes on to include many other greats like Better Off Dead, The Last American Virgin, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, her return to Amityville in 2018's The Amityville Murders, Freddy's Nightmares, TerrorVision...and so many more.

We covered a lot of ground including strange happenings on the Amityville sets, nudity in film, sketchy moments at horror conventions and beyond.

Diane definitely keeps herself quite busy with two memoirs already released, tons of new movies coming soon and quite a few upcoming convention appearances as things begin to open back up. To keep up with things Diane has going on, you can visit www.dianefranklin.com and she's very active on social media.
