In a statement, McCollum calls on Biden to step aside and Vice President Kamala Harris to run in his place. The longtime representative for the east Twin Cities metro said Harris should choose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.

    Global internet outage impacts flights in Minnesota. Trump closes out RNC

    The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport reported several dozen delayed or canceled flights Friday morning amid a global internet outage. Delta, Sun Country, Allegiant, United and American are among the airlines affected by the outage. Around the world, the internet outage has reportedly affected stores, banks and hospitals.


    And former President Trump closed out the Republican National Convention on Thursday night in Wisconsin.

And the Minneapolis City Council has approved a contract with the police union that will provide a more than 21 percent pay increase over the next three years.

The Minneapolis City Council, meanwhile, has passed a resolution expressing solidarity with park workers.

    A strike by Minneapolis park workers continues. A week-long walkout was supposed to end Thursday, but workers say they have not been offered a fair contract and they will continue to stay off the job.


    And the Hennepin County Attorney's Office has charged some two dozen people with felony rioting for allegedly shooting fireworks at others — including police — on July Fourth.
