November 19, 2024
TLDR: Jared and sister, Ryan and girlfriend, and Sophia each experienced supernatural events in respective homes - some encounters featuring malevolent entities like Otis and Botis; Sophia researched and sought to escape Otis's influence.
In this week's episode of Believing the Bizarre, co-hosts Tyler and Charlie delve into three eerie listener-submitted stories that range from ghostly encounters to potential demonic possession. In this blog summary, we will explore the stories presented, analyze the key concepts, and highlight expert insights shared throughout the discussion.
Story Insights
1. Jared's Haunted Indiana Home
The episode kicks off with Jared's story, recounting several chilling experiences he and his sister had in their Indiana home.
- Recurring Supernatural Events: Jared and his sister, who had lived in the house for several years, began to feel a heavy presence and unease. They managed to convince their parents that they needed to sleep on the couch due to their fears.
- Creepy Encounters at Night: One night, Jared was awakened by a strange noise. Both he and his sister witnessed a dark figure resembling a man crouched near Jared’s brother’s door, which left them paralyzed with fear.
- Presence of Sadness: Unexplainably, the figure radiated feelings of sadness rather than anger, adding intrigue to the paranormal events.
Jared recounted his encounters vividly, showcasing the chilling yet relatable emotions of many who have experienced such phenomena. His story poses questions regarding how our fears can shape our interpretation of unexplained events.
2. Ryan's Scottish Cottage Fright
Ryan’s thrilling experience took place in a remote Scottish cottage while on a golfing trip with his girlfriend.
- Physical Scratches: Upon waking, Ryan discovered three strange scratches on his back, which he initially thought could have been self-inflicted but later grew skeptical as his girlfriend pointed out he couldn’t possibly reach them.
- Noises and Disturbances: As their vacation progressed, they began hearing mysterious banging noises and footsteps around the cottage, eventually prompting their abrupt departure in fear.
Ryan’s story emphasizes the psychological aspects of fear and belief, highlighting how these experiences can profoundly affect one’s perspective on the supernatural.
3. Sophia and the Dark Entity
The final and most intense story comes from Sophia, who describes her terrifying encounter with a demon named Otis.
- Sensitivity to Spirits: Sophia has been sensitive to spirits since childhood, experiencing both positive and negative encounters.
- Demonic Manipulation: During a week-long nightmare, Sophia felt compelled to believe that Otis was her guardian, only to discover that he demanded violent acts against her husband, shattering her sense of protection.
- Battle for Control: Through research, she learned about the true nature of Otis and ultimately proclaimed her command over him, successfully banishing him from her life.
Sophia’s gripping tale sheds light on the many facets of possession, touching upon themes of mental health, personal strength, and the struggle for self-control in the face of supernatural threats.

Analyzing the Experiences
In the discussion that follows each story, Tyler and Charlie debate the believability of the events recounted.
- Skepticism vs. Belief: Both hosts grapple with their instincts to be skeptical while respecting the experiences of the listeners. They emphasize that the emotional resonance of these encounters often leads them toward the belief side of the spectrum.
- Connection to Mental Health: The possibility that some experiences could correlate with mental health issues was addressed, especially with Sophia's story, creating a nuanced understanding of how such phenomena can affect mental well-being.
- Cultural Context of Possessions: They discuss the varying depictions of possession across cultures and how this shapes perceptions of reality and fear in listeners.
Key Takeaways
- Paranormal encounters often blend with our emotions and existing fears, making interpretation challenging.
- Each listener's story offers a unique perspective into their reality and adds to the larger conversation surrounding the supernatural.
- Skepticism enables critical analysis of these experiences, inviting listeners to explore their beliefs about reality without invalidating the emotions of those who’ve lived it.

What would you do if you saw a creep outside of your brother's door that ghosts attack an innocent person in Scotland? And how did a young girl become possessed? Today we test the believability of the possession and survivor.
Welcome to believing the bizarre where we dive into the unknown and the unusual and tell you whether or not we find a believable. Welcome to Tuesday. This is Tuesday. Congratulations, everybody. We all made it past Monday. So Tyler did a listener episode last week and now it's my turn to do a listener episode. Yep. That's the rules now. You know, I'm very happy to hear that this is the possession survivor and not the fact that someone's family member sent in like at the end, by the way, they died.
Yeah, spoilers, they survive, but probably not going to wide unless it's like an absolute tribute to the memory of their being. We're probably not going to do an episode if they die during the story. Pretty intense. Yeah, like that would be a somber episode. Yeah, I don't want to say we'd never do it, but like glad to know they live in the end. It's also a little bit of a spoiler alert. A little bit. It's still pretty intense. Do you want to shout out here before we get started?
There is a trigger warning. It is mental health, mental health and possession. Well, yeah, that's in the title. I think that could still use a trigger warning possession as well.
We've got so much going on patreon. There's a lot going on over there. Something I'm looking forward to listening back to is our movie review. We just did smile to. Yeah, I'm not in smile one. I went into completely blind. Oh, I think not quite completely, but smile smile too is a good time and can I help you?
And we also recently did remembering the bizarre, which is a fun segment where producer Ben quizzes us on our own episodes and we remember it's always funny to find out what we do and we don't remember from an episode. It's pretty revealing to me. Hey Charlie. Yes. Do you have any patrons you'd like to shout out? I do have the new variety. We've got two new patrons that can experience those things we just talked about. The first one is Jeffrey and I need you to brace yourself for this one. They picked a name that's pretty wild. Pastel pink piss.
Oh, I don't know if I should say that on the show. That's like beyond dehydrated. That's like you're dehydrated and you were kissing a unicorn. You see a doctor. But anyway, that being said, let's get into our way. It was so over the two. What? Jeffrey? Jeffrey, and it wasn't Jeffrey's last name. No, no, it's another person. All right. I want to say it again. Okay. I'm not going to make you.
So this first story comes to us from a guy named Jared. How many submissions do we have today? Oh, gosh, I'm so sorry. We have three. Three submissions. Yeah, two of them shorter. Not a collection. I would not constitute this as a collection. Okay. Generally, that's been foreign up. Got to hit four. Yeah. It's like it's not a collection.
Like the Lord of the Rings with the Hobbit trilogy is a collection. What about a saga? It's definitely a saga. This could be a saga. I'm not going to put that in the title. Saga stories part one. No, we can't start doing that. We have so many different iterations. These are related though. So I feel like if we did sagas, they have to be like.
Unrelated miscellaneous sagas. That's good name. Volume zero. This is from Jared. It happened in 2015. It's crazy to think. You're a kid then. I was not a kid then. We were mid-20s. Yeah. I always know my year, by the way, the year ends. This was 2015. I was 25 because I was born in 90. I'm a 34.
So what happened with Jared? Jared said he had several experiences. The first one he was 15 and his younger sister was 13, his younger sister, K. He said, well, we had lived in the house for multiple years now and we had some weird feelings before, but nothing was ever alarming. My sister was more sensitive to it, I guess. She had stronger feelings of something watching her and a heavy presence in her room.
Jared actually gave us a lot of like layout to the house. No offense. I cut a lot of it. I get like, listen, I think that doing the layout helps the person submitting the story.
outline it. And if you need to do that, we will gladly accept it. When you're writing, you're like, oh, the kitchen was over here, the bathroom is over here. But in our experience, where the kitchen is in relation to the dining room, it might not be as pertinent to the story as you might think it is. The haunting that happened primarily in your bedroom doesn't need to know the basement, you know? But it's down a hall. Yes, down a hall with the door on the left. If it's just a walk-in closet, it might catch you off guard. It's true. But it's the door to the right.
which also doesn't go to the basement, but it's there. So I have to let you know if we didn't know that we would know. We're teasing and joking. We do appreciate you when you guys do it, but I'm going to cut it. So I'm saying.
An important note of the house, this is actually important. From where you sit on the couch downstairs, you can see upstairs. Now the stairs are a switchback, so you can see the little brother's door, and you can see the wall of his room, of Jared's room. Continuing quote, my door leads out to the next, my brother's room, and you can see the door itself because it's to the right of the wall.
Then my two sisters' room slept above the living room across Banster. That doesn't come back. So like I've said, we felt presences watching us who have never seen anything. Being young and persistent, we convinced our parents that I slept on the couch on the weekends because we got scared upstairs. One Friday night around 3am, I suddenly awoke to a noise. George Lopez was in the background.
No, he said that. All right, everyone now is there. That is the detail that everyone's like, oh, yeah, OK, I'm here. But there was also more of a thumping noise as well. Now, evidently, my sister had heard too, because she looked it over at me and whispered to ask if I'd heard that weird noise. Then we hear the other doors crack open upstairs.
And we both look into the dark and we see a black outline of what looked to be a grown man, and he takes three or four steps out of my door and turns and then crouches. We couldn't make out any eye features, but I remember just feeling sadness and fear. I held my breath the whole two or three minutes, it stayed there.
I couldn't take my eyes off it. My brother's doors upstairs was closed. We could see the figure in front of this door, but after it decided it was done watching us. We both watched it stand back up and walk away from the door and disappear into the black. You still talk about this experience to this day. And our family still laugh at us, but I literally have goosebumps typing this out.
I'm now 23, I live in my own house, and my sister's 21 in college. So that's his first encounter. He's got two more. The spirit would rather, it was sad, it would rather disappear into the ether than watch. George Lopez? Then yeah, that spirit says, because that's an amazing show. I love George Lopez. Amazing.
That would be very unsettling to see. You know, it's a great lineup. George Lopez, Reba. Reba's good. Back to back. Back to back. They weren't on at that time together. Reba had more of a prime four p.m. slot. Yeah, you're right. You're right. So are you ready for encounter? So this one involves the same sister. You say quote.
My sister had a friend coming over to our house to catch school bus because their road was under construction. It was common for her to show up earlier than we got up because of her parents work schedule. So my sister was used to her coming into her room and waking her up or laying in bed with her for like another 30 minutes or so. So after a few weeks after the first encounter, my parents finally got us to sleep in a room again.
Now, what my sister said is paraphrase from what she said, but it was close to this. She said that she was sleeping like normal and she woke up to a small light enter her room. She heard the door close and someone moving closer. She thought it was her friend and she's hold her to come lay down because she wasn't ready to wake up yet. She said she felt this wake come down on her bed and something tug on her clothes. She told me she told her friend to stop.
And she was trying to sleep, but it tugged at her again and rolled her. And she said she saw a face, very similar to Annabelle's. It was scratched up with sharp teeth, and she immediately screamed and woke me up in most of the house.
As I came out of my room, I watched the door slam shut. But also, I ran towards her room, and as she came out, I swear I saw this black figure standing in the corner of her bed table, and we ran downstairs to our parents. But when my dad went in, he had seen no sign of anything being there. That's the ending counter. Be real honest here. Big skeptical of this. You think they were psyched out?
Yeah, this is 2015, right in the midst. We can talk about later during the discussion, but this, this, this story doesn't hold water for me. But I'm saying you think that they were psyched out because they were primed to be a little freaked out? That I'm saying? I, yeah, I deal with this. I think there's other elements of this as well. Because it's in 2015. Yes. And also the age of the people involved. Yeah.
Yeah, we'll touch on that more later. And then his last encounter, this was more recent. He said, right before I moved out, it was probably around 2017, 2018, I was 18 and my bedroom got moved into the basement. So sleeping in the basement, I would see blackness moving around in the corner next to me. I kind of slept with the bottom of the stairs in the open area that divided the room so I didn't have any doors.
There are also times I would wake up the lights on, and the mini fridge I had would sometimes be open. I heard running water in the bathroom, and I've heard knocking. And that's the end of that last account. And he's looked at the basement. It was basically a haunted basement.
Man, the electricity bills up. Parents are pissed. And you're like, I'm not the one leaving the fridge open. The water's just running. The water goes out of this world goes like that. Gotcha. But the laying down and seeing shadows move in a pitch black room in the corner. Be hard to fall asleep. I think so. Yeah.
But it's also pitch black. So is it your eyes playing tricks on you? I don't know. That's a hard question. But that's the kind of questions we ask here. But when things are like opening to like, you didn't open your fridge in the middle of night unless you're sleepwalking. Well, unless someone else came down and opened his fridge sleepwalking. Okay, maybe, maybe he did have one more story. It's a quick bonus story. So we went to our best friend's birthday party and we had a bomb fired a few drinks.
The parents were there, and my designated driver was there, and it was around 11.30 in midnight, and all of a sudden, we all noticed a strange light behind a tree in the yard. It was slightly moving, and it was brighter than the stars. I want to say that we had two bigger trees, and we were sitting by, they're probably 15 feet apart. But one of us pointed out to the moving light, and everyone, including his sober parents, M.I.D.D. saw it.
Once we're all watching it and moved from the left to the right, then a couple of seconds later, we all vividly remember seeing 15 to 20 of the same moving dots move in a straight line. They all appeared after the left tree and disappeared beyond the right tree. I tried taking a video of this, but we couldn't get it. Again, the sober people all saw them as well. I don't know if the lights would have been or why they moved to the straight line, but we all saw them appear and disappear behind the trees.
To this day, we are all convinced we witnessed some of the strangest alien activity you've ever seen. End quote and story. That's the first one. I think they were visited by our very, very good friend, Elon Musk. Starlink. I think they saw Starlink.
Maybe, I think, maybe, which is still a very cool thing to see. I've seen Starlink as awesome. Hold on, hold on. You said this was more recent. He did say it was more recent. Yeah. This is not in 2015. No, this is more recent. He said it was more recent. Yeah. And so I'm not trying to... Okay, maybe they saw a UFO first and then they saw, but they're also admitting that they were intoxicated. Yeah, but there was a design driver and they were so... And they saw... And they all saw too. They saw Starlink.
which is awesome. It is very cool. So the Facebook city, the town where I live, the Facebook was going crazy. Yeah. Everyone thinks, unless you know what Starlink is, you think it's something strange. Yeah. Because it's weird to see, you don't naturally see like 10 to 15 objects in a straight line. You don't see that naturally. Every single one of those Starlink is now going to get a cabinet position.
This next story comes to us from across the pond. One of my favorite places, Scotland. You've been there. I have been there. Not this place, probably. This is like basically your second home now. I think so. Just can Disney is this dude's second home. And then Scotland's, I guess, the third. Third. Yeah. You have like a little like a vacation home. I wish. Like so cool. So this is from Ryan and you're going to, I think you're like Ryan.
Okay. Yeah. I hated the last one. So I'll tell you, you'll see why. I didn't hate the last one. Yeah. I had to make sure they need that. It wasn't Joe. It was a joke. Yeah. Didn't need him. What was her name? It was Kay and Jared. Jared. Jared. Every cast begins with Jared. In 2012, they do have both of them have the name. Oh, yeah. This is every kiss begins with Kay and it's Jared's. That's true. They're just the most rich. They're just diamonds. They just got diamonds.
Ghost is trying to steal their loot. So in 2021, Ryan told us that he experienced a haunted cabin. He said, hi, quote, I absolutely love the podcast, which I love to hear. It's nice. Good value. I always cut that out when we do that in the episode. He give more. I cut most of it. Okay.
He said, listen, this podcast has made me able to share my story. So this experience was it's a one off. While I was with my girlfriend on holiday, we traveled to St. Andrews to play golf in a tournament.
Oh, okay. I'm in. I'm in. I'm in. So we stayed at an old refurbished farmhouse, which was later discovered used to be a worker's cottage for the farm in the 1800s. This was a little one bedroom Airbnb cottage that had a living room slash kitchen next to it was the bedroom and the bathroom. The first few days, nothing happened. Nothing fell out of the ordinary. We didn't really have to spend much time in the cottage due to the golf tournament.
Then, on the morning of the Tuesday, or fourth day into the holiday, I woke up with scratch marks on my back.
We have three distinct finger marks and it started from the top of my shoulder blade to my mid back. I just thought that I did in my sleep, but my girlfriend said to see if I could even reach it as it was a very strange position. And it turned out I cannot reach the spot and made this continuous scratch work myself. So I thought it must have been my girlfriend. And that was that. And he did say in parentheses, we really didn't believe in anything paranormal at this point.
instead in parentheses. We have wild sex all the time. It's not a prayer, but you know, I like to get down. Just like, yeah, must have been hurt. Not like, I mean, see, I live a cat. So I just assume the cat laid on my back when I was sleeping. So fast forward to our final night. We were playing to you. Good, but early and be ready for the seven and a half hour car journey back home the next day.
My girlfriend was reading a book and I was on YouTube with headphones in. Respectful. Firstly, my girlfriend heard a bang. I didn't hear it because of the headphones. I assured her it was nothing and it went back to what we were doing. And then 20 minutes later, she heard something else. But she said it sounded like somebody was outside the door. I got up, I looked around the whole B&B and there was nothing. We decided to go back to bed and try to forget about it. But 15 minutes later, you're both drifting off to bed.
And I could only describe it like someone running with boots on right before the door and down the corridor. We both sat up and looked right at each other. Without thinking, we said, what the hell was that? I'd never been so scared in my life. My girlfriend started to cry, I fight or flight instincts, get in, and I jumped out of bed. I searched the house, and this time I grabbed the largest knife I could find from the kitchen. But I found nothing.
We went back to bed reluctantly, with this knife on the bedside table. We went back to sleep, and we were woken once again to running down the hallway, knocking throughout the house. This happened at midnight. We were both petrified, and that's when my girlfriend mentioned the scratches on my back from Tuesday. And we put two and two together. And that's when we knew whatever this was wanted us out. We listened.
We packed the car and made the seven and a half hour car journey home without a second thought. People, we have told, have laughed at us and made jokes. A few have believed us and mentioned along the lines of the evil spirit of wanting us out. I've never been so scared in my life, and that for me turned my view of the supernatural. I never really believed until I saw something with my own eyes. And now that I had, I believed. Writing this has even given you goosebumps and shivers.
We hadn't experienced anything like this since. I hope you guys think it's worthwhile. If you want to share the photos of the scratches, I can forward them to you. End story. Want to hear something cool? You got the photos? I did. Yeah. You want to see them? Yeah. That'd be crazy if they were made by the same knife that he had. Like they used his own knife. They're not deep enough for a knife. Okay. This is one photo. Ooh, it's a weird pattern. Yeah, it is. It's almost like a leaf. Almost like a leaf, but definitely like three.
Man, like, could that be an imprint? I guess the, I mean, they're smart for no, it's a cut. It's not just like an imprint. Like you're lean, you know, you lean up against like a weird, yeah, like you land something and it leaves an imprint. That is. Hmm.
It's like it's closed though. It doesn't stay open like a scratch mark might. It starts closed, turns into three lines, and then it closes again. Probably a fairy, right? It's a joke. It's a joke. I think this is a good PSA. To remember to always look at the reviews of your Airbnb.
Yeah, there might be no way this cabin is haunted and no one else mentioned it unless they're like squatters there and that's what it was. You know, the way Ali and at our friends from let's get haunted type of hauntings. Yeah, I relate to this a little bit because sometimes when I'm golfing, I think that ghosts haunt my swing.
I think they do too. I think it's really paranormal. How sometimes you can like, you can crack the ball and it goes far. Crack it. But sometimes doing the exact same thing, you can hit it and then hit it way off to the left and then you'll take your driver and they'll feel like there's no way I'm going to hit this ball. I'm going to not hit this tree directly in front of me. I've been terrible the whole day. I'm sure it's going to go right past it and then you just nail it. You left a mark on that tree and then you almost kill
One of your best friends in the world by golfing. I was hiding behind the party. I'm going to, I'm going to start using that. I'm going to, I got a ghost that follows me. It's called the three-pot. That's his nickname. I like that. It's good. We're going to move on to the next story.
Sorry, number three. This is a Sophia story. Oh, anonymous. You not mentioned my name. That's what we do, y'all. When you give us a story and you don't want your name attached to it, we still accept it. Yeah. You turn into Sophia. Yeah. Thank you for giving us a story. You sure guy, Sophia? We don't judge. This is what it is. Unless it's like absolutely pertinent to the story, your sex, you know, it doesn't matter. Yeah, Sophia.
But yeah, thank you for, I think you're everyone for submitting your stories. So far and submitting it right now. We joke, but we do appreciate them. We enjoy them and we're grateful to have the opportunity to tell them. So this happened for a number of years. She went question marks by the years, so she doesn't know exactly. Forever. So she still possessed. It doesn't know. That's a bad joke. She, she started with a very deep quote. I'm going to start with that too. She said quote.
I do not know what drew him to me. It was my depressed mental state. It was my own guilt becoming inactive in my religion. It was all my imagination. All I know is the most terrifying time of my life was the week I was possessed by a demon. End quote. Man, what a mood setter. Yeah.
A week, a week. Could you imagine how much havoc can be wrecked in your, like, think of, think of somebody right now who's 25 years old. 25 years old, you got a job, you got a family, maybe a significant other, French hobbies. Yeah. 25 years building that life. If you're possessed for a week,
How much of that can be ruined? How much can one week ruin of 20 years? You could destroy everything within like 48 hours. You could get really... I challenge people to do 24 hours.
So maybe it's not challenge people for that. Yeah. It's good. Good. That is just like, like, we're not talking about, like, if for our possession here, like a week is, and it might not have had her. I mean, we're, we're, him, when we'll get, you know, you'll tell the story, but just the way that I'm just me responding to that initial quote, like,
A week is such a long time. That is wild. You'll see what happens. It's not worst case scenario. I'll tell you that right now. Well, they live, so absolutely it's not. That's true. It's not even that bad. It's like falling off a bike. It happened. We've all been there.
I fell off my bike when I was a kid. Really bad. I tell you this before. You possessed for seven days. I was not. So it wasn't quite the same level. When I was a kid, I smashed my face onto the cement and I like chipped my teeth real bad. Like, I thought that was from playing the saxophone. I was going to say, and then after that, I played saxophone in the marching band. I mean, in the marching band, the thing goes, uh, air out all the time and that that made the permanent chip.
Yeah. Yeah. So my front teeth went through it. There's a one, two punch that bicycle saxophone. That's what Mike Tyson calls this fist. That bicycle saxophone calls it. Auto or? Auto. Well, actually I played also and then I played baritone in the jazz band. Yeah, you did.
Did. Anyway, so let's get back to something a little more intense. Sophia said that she had been sensitive to spirits all her life. She didn't even know that the entities were. They just kind of spoke to her. She accepted that she could see them and feel these things. She was raised Christian, but just not anymore. Consider herself to be of that faith or any faith. So most of these beings that she communicated with on several occasions did not seem to be malicious.
Actually, one of her first and most powerful memories was from an entity that was quite benevolent. When Sophia was eight, she was doing something she wasn't supposed to, like eight year olds do, like an eight year old be doing. Benevolent is one of those words that does not mean what you think it is when you hear it. It means good. Yeah, but benevolent just sounds like violent. It's a word that sounds opposite than what it means in my opinion, like read more than you. Because I didn't feel that. Okay, keep reading.
But you know what, though, approximately, I didn't think this was a friend of mine thought it meant, like, right on. Oh, really? 100%. There's just some of those words that when you just, like, have face value, it feels like it means the opposite. Yeah. Like, punitive. You know, there's, I don't know. Go, sorry. Continue, continue with the story.
So she was on punishment. And when she was on punishment, she was in her bed crying because she had consequences. And she actually ended up prying herself to sleep. So this is a quote from Sophia. She said, quote, the spirit came in what felt like a dream. It looked me up and out of my bed and took me to a beautiful place. When I look back into memories, all I see is a white light and a bright haze.
I do remember it looked beautiful. We walked side by side down a winding path talking. The path was just wide enough for us to walk without touching. It was much taller than me, very clearly an adult. It worked clothing that was the same color as the surroundings.
I have no memory of the face, or if it was male or female. The spirit radiated warmth, calm, and love. I felt extremely safe by its side. I remember it asked me if I wanted to stay there, or if I wanted to go back, and I told it that I wanted to go back. It accepted this decision without hesitation. I was informed that I should not touch it, and I agreed not to.
And we walked for a long time discussing what I only remember now as being very important. The spirit had extremely powerful energy about it. It overwhelmed me. I fought my urges as long as I could, but the positive energy soon became so much that I couldn't handle it.
And I hugged the spirit. It wasn't angry about this, but it was clearly upset. It told me certainly that I would have to clear my memories of some of the conversation and the events of that night because I clearly didn't have enough self-control to keep it to myself. It wiped my memory of mostly events and sent me back home. That and the passive time following memory of what happened is so frustratingly foggy.
I felt the memories in my head, but I just don't have access to it. After I do remember having the feelings of having some positive energies, but the feeling does fade eventually."
That's all I could think of. Do you think that was not a spirit? Not at all. That was not a spirit. No. What do you think? Man, it felt like a higher power. It felt like alien. Yeah, alien. Like it didn't feel of... That story is alien.
100% is abducted. It gave her secrets and it like it judged her as in something not human would judge something human. You know what I mean? It's like, oh, you don't have the self control. I don't know. It just like it didn't sound like a person talking to person at all. The way that she described it, it definitely did not feel like it feel like she went somewhere else with this muted being that was able to. Now, do you think it actually was? Do you think it had that energy or do you think it put on that energy?
It's put on. I think it's 100% put on. So, and by that, I mean, just to clarify, it wasn't a warm and fuzzy being. It portrayed the warm and fuzzy to, to convince an eight year old girl to walk with it. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it was bad. It could just be that, you know, it's like when, when you see a stray animal and you like pull out a little bit of food and you drop it down, like it doesn't mean you're gonna kill the animal. It just means you're like, hey, I'm meeting you halfway. And when the animal bites you say, hey, I'm gonna wake your memories.
Yeah, you're like, clearly you don't have, I was going to bring you home. I was going to give you a great life. You can sleep on the end of my bed, just the end, not by me at the end of the bed. That's why you don't have this self control. So I'm going to leave you here. Yeah, exactly. And then she had left back in this world. He's like, you know, like 10 years you're going to be possessed and I could have saved you from that. But you gave me a hug. So do you think she thinks it's alien?
No, I don't think so at all. I think she is pretty convinced this is a spirit. I was wondering if you were going to think elemental in a way. No, there's no way this this screams to me alien. Yeah, it just it's such an intelligent. It's it's an intelligent entity that just doesn't seem human and whether it's like interdimensional. I don't know. Yeah, no, I was getting alien vibes does not seem like it's a spirit to me. So this next story is
another experience from Sophia. This is, this is not quite there yet. So there's, there's one more before this possession. She's a quote. Another experience I had was with one of these beings happen two years ago. This being is more human than the first and I was familiar with her and I communicated with her before. She is much less powerful and more neutral, though she does have more aggression in her personality. Her name is Celie.
I first met Celie when I was in middle school, and it was overall uneventful. My bus stop was first in the stop, and I was the only one of my siblings who got on that bus. And it was just me and the bus driver, where it should have been. As I got on the bus, she just got on behind me.
The driver could not see her, and I couldn't either, but I felt her presence. It really just felt like it does when any other regular person is walking behind you. She followed me into my seat and sat down beside me. She was about my age and communicated to my mind, like putting a thought in my head that was not my own. She made a few jokes about messing up the bus driver's hair and introducing herself as Celie. And then, like that, she was gone.
Her presence was just not there anymore, and she started coming and going as she pleased. The last time I saw Sealy was 2 years ago, November 29th, 2020. I remember because I recorded the event in my journal, and most of this is from the entry I made later that night. I was sitting on my shower floor, letting the hot water wash over me.
And I didn't feel very good about myself. And then Cili appeared. Cili told me to look at her. I can't see her, but somehow I kept avoiding her eye contact. She said, look at me. I managed to scan for a second before I looked away. Look at me. And then she roughly grabbed my face and my chin so hard my jaw hurt. She said, you're the only person who can make your life better.
You don't need help. Tears started to fall and well open my eyes. Stop it. I say quietly to her. I was going to cry. Then I looked away. I shrugged off the painful feelings and I swallowed the tears and she faded away. I sat in the running water and slowly resumed my thoughts. I was thinking about the job I had quit yesterday, but gnawing in the back of my brain is the interaction I just have a silly just moments before. She had touched me.
None of them had really touched me before. My jaw felt bruised with the memory even though I know it wasn't. She changed a lot since I knew her just a couple years ago. She used to make jokes about messing people's hair up. I started to get upset because I don't know what they are and I started to doubt that what appeared to me even really happened. I wrapped a towel around my body and grabbed my phone from the sink and I sat back down on the shower floor and held my face as I googled.
Hearing voices in my head. As usual, I got a page flooded with results of schizophrenia and psychosis. I got frustrated. I can't just tell me what's going on with me. I hear them, but now with my ears. More thoughts that aren't mine. I'm very aware that no one can. I'm very aware that no one else can sense them. No one else had ever heard something unless I told them.
And that's it ends with that frustration. She turned the water off before she googled before she sat down with her phone. I assume so. Yeah. I assume so. She just pouring onto her. That is that's.
That's rough because I don't think everyone can relate to the specifics of her story. But I think most people can relate to the fact that something in your life is going on and you try and Google it and you're just not getting the responses that feel the most helpful. Yeah. Yeah. And also feeling like you're in a unique situation.
Yeah, I mean, I think it was interesting how she pointed out that this one, this entity touched her and how it felt different. And it's weird because it's like, it was like a motivating, like only you can fix your own life. It does feel like it comes from the internal. I'm not saying that it is
internal and that it's not a ghost, but if that moment feels very much like her talking to herself and like saying get it together. I could see that, but also I see like what if it's a guardian spirit, right? It's just frustrated because it wants what it wants to help you. Stop looking at your phone in the shower. That's a message for everybody. Stop taking a dry towel and then going back in the shower, one per. Don't do it.
Yeah, I mean, it very much could be a guardian type entity. I don't know. Who knows? I don't know. Hopefully she sticks around for this next part. She doesn't. Well, anyway, next story. This last one is very intense. It's got really intense imagery. So, you know, this is about the entity that possessed Sophia. Quote.
This is my final experience with the creature I can only imagine must have been a demon. I was asleep in my bed, but something woke me up. I sat up quickly to my heart racing. I was looking into what I can only describe as a hologram. He was right there in front of me, smiling with his sharp teeth.
He was in a position that wouldn't be physically possible if he was actually in the room. He was sitting on an invisible chair like a throne. His knees were spread open and his hands were in his lap. He'd set up the entire field of vision and it seemed as if a portal had opened directly in front of my face.
was freaked out, but I was not scared enough to scream. He looked really terrifying. His body was streaked with black and yellow, and everything about him was sharp as if he could cut you. He had pointy teeth, long curved horns, and bat-like wings. But the scariest thing about him was his long claws and his fingers. Everything else felt sinister from the beginning, and then he rushed towards me, and I could feel his bond with me. It felt like an intense and painful cold pressure
over my entire body. I was compelled to get up out of my bed and draw a picture of him. It was about 3am and I still had no idea what the purpose of this drawing was. Maybe it was some kind of introduction. He spoke to me the same way the other entities had through my thoughts in my mind. He talked so long that I did not sleep for the rest of the night. He told me that
Although he looked scary, he was just misjudged. His name was Otis, and he was going to be my guardian, my companion. He prayed on my weaknesses and told me that even though I felt stuck and perfect and unsure of my next move, he would always be there and bring me hope and peace. He kept repeating to me that he doesn't care what I chose. He always wanted to be there to comfort me, and at that moment I will admit he made me feel like I could do anything.
But not in the way the first spirit made me feel powerful. It was heavy and a sickly feeling. For about a week it was with me whispering to me. Sometimes he would massage my shoulders and reassure me when I was feeling stressed at work. It felt good at first.
It wasn't long before he started to get frustrated that it wasn't letting him take over. I enjoyed the attention, but I didn't ever trust him. His shoulder rubbing got to the point where it was painful, and then it started to feel as if he was constantly stabbing me with his long claws. He sang along to a song that I heard that I had on my playlist was Wasted by David Betsy. I think this was partially to gain my favor and partially because the song really resonated with him.
Today, as I write this, I actually looked up the song and watched the music video. For the first time to make sure I was referencing the right song, the music video has images of angels and devils and gave me chills as I listened to it again. He kept telling me that he didn't care what I did.
But it was clear that he actually did. All he wanted for me was to kill my husband. That demand was one that truly terrified me. I love my sweet husband dearly. It was terrified that this demon inside me who pretended to be my friend would somehow gain control over me. So Otis had to go. I was ready to try anything. So I started researching. I kept having to push him away as I typed in his name Otis and the word demon. That's when things started getting really scary.
Before I did this, the only demon I knew about was Lucifer. I hadn't been exposed to anything referencing demons at the time. I learned that this demon thing was Boredis, who sometimes went by Otis. I read about this orange yellow color, his wings, his sharp teeth, his horns. I learned that he was a general, serving under Lucifer, commanding a 60,000 legions. Why such a powerful demon targeted me specifically? I don't know, but I read about him.
And I learned more about this entity. The one thing that really stood out to me about Otis and my research was the fact that he was a general. And one thing I know about the military men is that they respect rankings. And I thought about how I was able to push him around a bit about all the things I learned about devil in the church. I began to get the idea that just maybe I outranked him.
So instead of just telling him to go away, which would have worked but only for a little bit, I said out loud, I order you to leave me. I know that I outrank you. And then he was gone. He left so suddenly that my first instinct was to search for him, but I couldn't find him anywhere. He was really gone. I was honestly shocked that it worked. Later on, I was actually visiting my parents and
somehow gotten the conversation about possession. And I think we just watched a movie on something. I jokingly said, all you have to do is let them know that you don't rank them. And I got a bunch of weird looks. So my brother was also sensitive to these things. I feel extremely lucky that I somehow managed to fight this out as off. It was a learning experience for sure. And I took precautions now to make sure it doesn't happen again. It makes me wonder about all those people that do horrible things. And if there are people that have lost the battle with a demon. End quote. She won.
Yeah, she won. It's just such an intense story. Yeah. I mean, anything that has to do with possession or demons is just a whole other layer beyond ghosts, shadow figures, aliens. Yeah. There's a lot to it. It's a lot to unpack. So let's do that. Let's talk about this in the discussion.
So now we're going to talk a little bit about the stories that we just discussed. There's Jared's story, there's Ryan's story, and then there's the Sophia story. So Jared's story. He's got four-ish encounters. A lot of shadow figures moving around rooms, walking around. Very typical of a haunted house. Little George Lopez. Yeah.
I think, I mean, like this episode is a good job kind of like showing two sides of the spectrum of like what a paranormal encounter could be. Yeah. From like shadow figures in the house to possession, potentially. In the house. Because they're in the house. I see. Okay. Yes. Yeah. And I know what you mean. I, unless, okay. Well, you, you had a strong opinion about the second story.
Yeah. The sister's story. I don't buy that. It's a couple of reasons. It doesn't come from Jerry directly. It comes from the sister. Right. So it's already like a third hand story. Yeah, which means it's already a little dirty, but a little less factual.
And the fact that it's referencing, I mean, so I do think the house was haunted. That's not what I'm questioning here. I'm questioning the fact that maybe she just had a bad dream. She was asleep. She assumed something she referenced like pop culture reference. Yeah. And Annabelle's not how Annabelle looked. Right. Annabelle was a raggedy and all like the Annabelle in the film. Yeah. Now maybe she was referencing the real doll, but no, it was it was definitely the.
Yeah, that's not what she really looked like. No, yeah, but who's going to get nightmares about writing and all people who probably really mess with Annabelle, probably. And you could argue that this N.C. is showing her to scare her. So it showed her a movie. You were emphasizing that it being 2015 was a factor in this.
I don't remember when the conjuring came out was around then conjuring was twenty thirteen twenty twelve. This is a new movie essentially this is a new film. A new thing coming out it was popular. Conjuring an event about yet in the beginning the flow you're right you're right and I think the film and about my to come out twenty fourteen.
Yeah. So it's, it's front of mind. And for a young girl in middle school, that's, that's the shit. Yeah. You're lucky, Jared. K-story might discount yours, but I mean, cause I mean, seeing shadows in the dark is one thing, but I mean, they both very clearly had the experience where they saw the man walk in to down and leave. I'm not discounting the whole haunted house. I definitely think that there are definitely some elements here. Definitely, definitely.
Well, I mean, if I lived in a haunted house and if I, if I saw a shadow figure one time, that would probably lead to three experiences to me cycling myself out. Yeah. Uh-huh. And she was expecting someone there too anyway, but she, she was, she was asleep. She was dead asleep and it just screams. It was a dream to me.
That's fair. Now, we have our believability scale where you go believable, viable, skeptical, and believable. I go believable as a whole on this, but I think I think it's safe to say that her story might be a little less than believable given those factors. But as a whole, like I do believe that their house was haunted. I do too. I do too, especially Jerry downstairs. I don't think he was getting up in the middle of the night, opening his home mini fridge. No, someone else is sleepwalking. Yeah, exactly. People get thirsty at nighttime.
Beat that ass, come in my room, get in the fridge, get in the drink. You left one, Alani. Oh, and you wake up and it's opened and gone. Are you mad? It wasn't even drank. It was just so flat, not even drink. That's evil. That's sick. That's that's demonic. Yeah.
But Patrick a little bit. He did say he saw the entity in the room when the sister woke up. Like he like, yeah, or he saw something. Yeah, but yeah, you're right. He's probably just on edge because they do see things. Yeah, I would be on edge all the time. All right. Yeah. And overall, I also go believable in this house, but by that story, so Ryan and his Airbnb of doom.
Yeah. So we saw this the pictures. I assume they'll be on social media or something. Yeah, it'll be posted. Yeah. You're right. They do look weird. They're like almost like come down. Yeah, it's not like it doesn't say out. It'd be like, it's like they came together. Now, I'm not seeing them in person. Like my instinct was, it looks like an imprint. Like if you were pressed up against something, but also, I don't know what ghost fingers look like.
It's, you know, but it is weird that they came together. Yeah. I just think it was a haunted cabin. If it was that haunted, don't you think other people would have commented on it? Or do you think it was just specifically their energy that brought it out? Like, could it go from that haunted to zero? I don't think so.
And people pay hundreds of dollars for an Airbnb. Like if you have one dirty towel, they write about that interview. You don't think they're going to write about hauntings and scratches and noises and people with boots running around? They said they didn't believe in this stuff until they saw it their own eyes. So maybe they were. They should have left a review. Being they did put this place on blast. Let's go read it. St. Andrews. I'll look it up later. I.
I'm not, I say that, but I'm not discounting what they experience. It's just, it's surprising to me, but I guess the paranormal is not like on clockwork. It's weird that there's no like validation for it.
Yeah, I, what if there is we don't know actually. Yeah, but who, who, who, who reserves an Airbnb without looking at the reviews? Oh, and no one does. They need a haunted layer. The scratching, the scratching is interesting, but so even like, let's just say that's not even real, which I'm not saying I believe that, but let's say that it's an imprint or something else happened. Uh, he's, he slipped on a whole eight, fell down on his,
bag. I don't know. The running around and the boots and stuff. Was that coming from inside the house? Yeah. That's inside the house. Unless you got squatters in there or like the owners came in to grab something like, oh no, we left the nice bottle of wine and the closet and the Airbnb. That's when you're drinking wine.
I don't know. I mean, unless, but they wouldn't be running. They'd be trying. They probably would message them. Yeah. They would be like, Hey, I'm going to stop in real quick. Sorry. Yeah. I got to grab this midnight wine. Yeah. I mean, that's, that's certainly something. Yeah. And it's like to, I feel like there's a, there'd have to be a significant amount of legitimate activity to make someone on the drop of a dime be like, all right, we're leaving in the middle of the night driving seven hours.
Yeah, that's a big commitment. If I heard a noise and I'm like laying in bed, I'm like, well, yeah. But I mean, me personally, I'd be like, well, my bed is only seven and a half hours away. Is that what you would think? I would think that I would. I could see that. You'd be lucky, though. I think to come here and not get an attachment. We don't know if there's an attachment. I'd be scared of that, at least to that experience, anything else.
Okay. As of yet. As of yet. Well, this probably was submitted a while. I think Ryan's fine. Also, thank you for sending in your picture, Ryan. That's dope. Yeah, I reached out to him yesterday, yesterday. My follow up to Ryan would be if they had any suspicion that anyone else had any paranormal experiences or if they reached out to the owner of their B&B.
I felt bad that people laughed at them. I felt bad that people didn't believe this story. I don't know how do you discount it, really? I wonder if it's legitimate laughter or like, I don't know how to react to the story laughter. Yeah. Sometimes people laugh in situations, obviously, that aren't funny. Oh, yeah, I do it all the time. Yeah. Or, you know, it could just be like, are you joking? I can't tell. I'm going to lighten the mood. This is weird. I don't know. I don't have a canned, the weather's fine response to this. But, you know, we, I believe you, I don't know, Charlie. Charlie's looking a little skeptical over there.
No, I very much believe you. I think I believe you more, because I'm not like, where are the reviews? Well, what do you think? What do you legitimately think about the scratch marks? I legitimately think you got scratch. How do you explain that it coming together? I don't know. It looks a little bit like bowtruck lands. This will be on our Instagram and our Facebook. I want y'all to get in the comments and let us know your thoughts on these scratches. It's almost like a quick swoop. I'm curious to know what the people think.
But I don't believe. Yeah, I don't believe as well. Last story, Sophia story. She had three experiences. One, I'm pretty convinced was an alien. Yeah. The first one I can get behind that definitely seems like his alien doesn't even seem angelic. It seems like it's an alien to me. I wonder why I didn't want to touch it. What do you think about that?
Maybe it was like in Spider-Man, Jake Gyllenhaal. It's got the beasts. And he's like, stay back. Don't touch them because they're fake. Did you see that Spider-Man? Tom Holland, the second one. Jake Gyllenhaal? Is it not Jake Gyllenhaal? What's his name? Andrew Garfield? No, Mysterio.
Oh, oh my god, oh my god, yeah, you're right. You can't touch it if it's not real. You're right. Now she did touch it. She did. Maybe, I mean, I don't know, I guess nothing really changed, but it screams facade to me. Or there is something, I mean, we're talking if it is an alien.
which we don't know. But if it is an alien, we're talking about an entity that we just don't. Couldn't come like we don't know. Like if you touch something hot, you will get burned. Yeah. If you touch something cold, it'll be cold, you know, like, you know, but like, they're like, we know the physics and the way that things work on earth and what you shouldn't should not do. Yeah. We don't know those rules with this entity.
You know, whether it's like a transfer of information or like an attachment or like, we don't know why. It could have been really painful for him. What if it's just a test? Yeah, it could have just been a test. It's just a test. Like, we can only trust the most capable eight-year-olds, those that's... Yeah. Maybe.
Listen, I don't have an eight year old, but my brain ain't there till 25. You know what I mean? Like, let's talk that a little bit, alien. I mean, this, this girl still has to pass her. Like, I promise I can read test, which they're getting third grade. They're trying to find the perfect line between innocence and intelligence.
Yes, yes, that sounds harsh for children, but I mean like they're trying to find like you're not corrupted. You're pure, but we can tell you a secret and you're not gonna Harry Potter was 11 and he was pure of heart. I think he was probably like 14 when he stopped being here. He wasn't pure. He had Voldemort in him. That's okay. Maybe Harry Potter is bad.
So she's talking about being possessed for seven days. He was possessed for like five, seven books, seven books for seven days. Goddamn. I mean, seven days. And then the next story about this one really got me the second one. I felt like I know the third one's a possession story, but the second one almost feels more powerful.
Do you think the entity from the first story opened things can't worms? Yeah, but I mean, like, yes, like what if her touching the entity in the first story opened like doors so that she could have these other experiences? I had not thought of that. That is an interesting point. Like maybe almost like it was like an amplifier.
Yeah, it was she's been marked by something. Yeah. Like it's just like she's not different because she touched this thing. That makes other people have experiences too. So it's not like that's the only reason why, but like what if it was a catalyst? That makes a lot of sense. I I understand. I mean, just going off what we understand, right? It seems to be one of those things that is like a trigger and a story. It's it's something that that didn't want to happen. She did it. And that was consequences.
Maybe it just makes sense to us because that's how our brains were. Could be completely unrelated. It could be. We don't know if that's the thing. We don't know. I wonder if she still hopes you'll find out some secrets from this thing. He's like, all right, it's been long enough.
Did he erase stuff from her memory or did he ask her to erase stuff from her memory he said he erased it out you got five so we don't even know the whole story she could have completely implanted a lot of what she actually witness yeah he's a little green dude. She don't remember he she got flashy thingy. She got will smith will smith he's.
Are you going to see the yeah it seems like this and see the wanted something from her want something her to do something and she just. Wasn't doing it and the fact that touch her the end is powerful to me cuz you can see her she could and away.
I don't know that you know it is film like the scene of her in the shower like you see that like that is film that's like enter scene interior bathroom like that is thematic is thematic though the ending is thematic sometimes though like when I was like younger.
I would, like, pretend my life was a movie. Like, how is this the manic? Like, how is this being shot? Like, where's the camera angle at? If I could, like, make a picture out of this moment, where would I stand? Where would I look? I know. How many times have you tried to attractively cry in the bathtub? A couple. Does it ever pan out, though? One time, I was like, that's pretty good. Not bad. Yeah. Yeah. Do you get that stuff? It's like, that's his wife. Six times in. And then the last story. With the cheese on, man.
Okay, I have a question for you that you cannot answer because only Sophia can answer this question. Yes. Now, I'm not a religious person because I wasn't raised religious. I didn't go to church. I'm not atheist. I'm agnostic. So I'm not saying that I don't think there's a chance anything could be out there. I just don't prescribe anything.
If I had a one-on-one direct experience with a demon, now we tell demonic stories and I'll go believable or go viable and they scare me, but it's still like secondhand stories are not the same as me experiencing something. If I had a direct one-on-one experience with a demon, that could probably sway me into looking more into religion.
For her to go from religion, have an experience with a demon and now not have faith or religion. Now this is coming from a very ignorant, like I said, do not go to church. Is it strange to believe in demons and not a God? Because she didn't say she's not Christian anymore. She says she doesn't subscribe to any faith. Now that doesn't mean that she doesn't believe in God. Maybe she just hasn't aligned herself with something yet.
But if you have the mindset that she no longer believes in faith or God, is it weird to believe in a demon and know God? I think it is strange. Yeah, because that's almost like saying there is ultimate evil, but there is no balance. So what are your thoughts on what I just said and about her becoming non-religious and not having faith, but believing that she interact with the demon? I think that's a hard contradiction.
It's a hard contradiction to follow. We don't know that she doesn't believe in a God. We don't know. She said she has no faith. Yeah. Or she doesn't subscribe to a faith and she's not Christian. Right. So she could be in a discovery phase. Or she's just, she does believe in it. She just doesn't believe in like that it's been distorted by humans, which is a plausible theory. It just felt to me, it was like, wow, to go from believing in God and then experience a demon and be like, there's no God. I feel like
But you know, you know, this is stuff I don't like speaking on. She might not feel like she needs a God because she felt like it came from with it a lot. OK, I'm speaking on things I shouldn't because I don't have a place of like this isn't this isn't my platform to speak on. Well, the podcast is but not this content.
A lot of people when they're being attacked by demons, they call Jesus Christ. Yeah. And that makes it go away. She didn't have to do that. She herself, I outrank you, me, Sophia outrank you. So she might not feel like she needs a God. You know, we're in this room, this studio. It's a very scary thought to me. I don't know why. That almost makes you feel like hollow in a way. Like we're not there experiencing it.
Yeah. Yeah. It just feels that's such a, both thoughts are scary to me. And I don't, I don't like talking about it that much. But what are your thoughts on what I just said? I understand what you're saying. That was just like a bad, that was like a football player. I was like, I hear you question. We're going to do our best. We're going to watch film. I think it's a very good point. I think I could see that angle. Maybe that's what that is.
I don't know if she was fully possessed. I don't know. I don't know if she was. Maybe it was more on the verge of possession, like more of a, uh, kind of what's it called? Um, oppression, oppression is more of an oppression than anything else because she said it never really took control of her. So you're, you're disputing my point that maybe she had the power. Is that what you're, I don't know if she did have that power by herself to fully get rid of a possession.
And I'm not speaking in fact, either. I'm saying she thinks she had the power to outrank it. She did. She did think that. I don't think that's how that works. I don't. But I do think this happened to her. I don't think it was a full possession. I think it was maybe an impression because it never really took over. So it's like the oppression survivor.
Are you going over my title? That's not nice at all. You just said it wasn't a possession. That's okay. That's okay. It's all good. You're the one that said it. It's wow. No, I have another hot take that I don't particularly enjoy. Now, this is episode 238, I think, and we make a very strong point of kind of like, like we know what lane we're in. We are in the entertainment lane. It's not fun if we start saying that these stories aren't real.
You know, you guys, we're not experts. We aren't the type of people to come in and say like, no, I don't think the story is real. Because what fun is that? You know, I mean, like that's it. There's no fun in that. And also it's insulting to the people that take the time to send us their stories. Yeah. Could be. And so, and this is also an angle I don't typically take because it's something I'm, again, I'm not licensed or educated to speak on every now and then. And you referenced at the beginning side, that's kind of why I don't feel about bringing it up.
Every now and then, we'll get a paranormal story, and while I'm hearing it, even if it might be so similar in 95% of ways as other stories we've done, for some reason, it keeps pinging me. Is this just a person dealing with mental illness? I have that thought as well. I do not want to just take all of their paranormal experiences and just dump them in the, you're just suffering from mental illness, Ben.
That feels so like it feels like I'm totally invalidating them. I'm invalidating their experiences. And I don't mean to do that. And I'm not going to say that's true because I'm not Sophia. She's not even Sophia. We don't live that life. We don't know. But I would be lying to you. I'd be lying to our audience. If multiple times throughout her encounter, I was in thinking, is this mental illness?
I have the same thought reading it going through it. I said the symptoms don't match when she reached it, but when she researched it, but I nothing speaking to her physically. It's all in her mind. And it's that's it felt like a lot of us coming from within. Yeah. And you said we're not licensed for this. We're not therapists. No, we're just giving our observers, passenger observers. And to me, it sounds like someone going through something.
Yeah, maybe it's not. It felt like a paranormal story, specifically the oppression of possession. It felt like a paranormal movie that like A24 would put out. That was actually a metaphor for like a toxic relationship.
Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, that's kind of how it felt to me. So I guess the hardest part is where do you put this? I'm between viable and skeptical. A lot of listeners' submissions are between viable and believable. This one I'm between skeptical and viable.
Yeah, I get that I I'll give her the benefit of the doubt mostly because I'm I feel a little shame in This like I don't like I feel like I'm invalidating her story and I actually really hate that So I'm giving it give her the benefit out and say viable. I just want to be transparent with you guys that I mean not like
Our credibility doesn't mean much work couple dudes that listen to paranormal stories and talk about him and talk about paranormal stories. But if every single thing that we did we came out we said believable eventually you guys would be like why even listen to discussion they can say it's believable and so that that's just how i'm feeling about this but i don't like how i feel about it but i'm i'm gonna give it a viable.
I'm gonna give it a viable. I'm actually gonna go, I hope you don't hate us for this. I feel terrible doing it. I'm gonna go hard skeptical. Man, I feel like I talked 80% of the game and then you came in with like the, it's like, okay, I'm gonna give you a baseball analogy. I feel like it's a tied game, I'm at bat, I fell off 12 balls,
I have a couple of really good hits, but they just barely go foul and I hit it and I get on base. And then what you come up in one swing is like home run and you're like, I did it. Yeah. And I'm like, but I just, I did do it. I mean, you laid a progress for me. So if I wasn't, if I didn't say, if I just came out and said, yeah, she was possessed, I think it was a demon. I find it believable. What, what would you, what would your rebuttal been? I mean, I've been thinking about this all day. I think that what she described to us does not
feel like anything we are familiar with with possession. It's not my experience. I don't know it. That's why I'm not going unbelievable. Sure. But it doesn't match anything we talked about before. The way of getting rid of it doesn't match anything we talked about before. Your family is like, what are you talking about? I think they were confused too, because it doesn't match anything anyone's ever talked about for possession or even anything else you mentioned. And I, again, I really hope you don't hate us for this. I'm just being logical. I'm sorry about that. But being honest, I am.
You're being honest with what you're feeling. Man, if I imagine if I would have came in and be like, yeah, obviously she was a demon. I'd be like, you're totally invalidating her entire story. We only heard one unbelievable thing today. And that was Starlink. We didn't even touch on that. They did see Starlink. They did see Starlink. That's true.
So thank you for listening to the story of the, I guess, oppression survivor. The possession survivor. It's a much better title. It is, it's a good title. The possession survivor. My title game is back on point. You survived. You survived this episode. Thank you for listening. You should get a T-shirt. Actually, you should get a T-shirt.
What a hard sell, what a pivot. And if you come over to our website, we got a couple of shirts for you. We do, actually, we've got a lot going on our website. We've got merch. You can comment on every single episode including this one and including our last episode Charlie what are some comments that were received on the bear hugging demon. So Nick said when i first saw the title of this episode yeah i thought it was about demon in the woods hugging bears.
Oh, that's, that's a bear podcast right there. You got bears out there like, yeah, there's this thing when you're in the woods and it just comes up and it just grabs you from. I missed you, baby. Have a good night. And then listen to a bear podcast.
Camilla said nothing like an early Tuesday morning with believing the bizarre greetings from Scotland. Scotland. Yo, I know it's just a sign. I need to go back there and then nose, but I don't know. They said now I will be supermanning into bed for the next couple nights. Thought I'd conquer the fear of something grabbing my ankles from under the bed, but great episode though. Appreciate that a lot.
I'm not gonna lie, I did think about it one time after that episode about just jumping and supermanning into the bed. I didn't know it at all. Although I was thinking arms out like a T instead of a Superman. I feel like this braces your fall. I know it's a bed, but I feel like this brace is more than this. If you were jumping anywhere, I feel like this, I feel like I'm catching myself better than this. It was more like flight in this sense. Flight? Yeah, you fight for weeks. Yeah, but I think when they met,
Are you agreeing with me realistically? Yeah, you're agreeing with me. I am. Okay. Yes. You're like, oh, I'm about to go with that. Try that tonight. Try it tonight. Maybe you didn't know dogs are cats. I'm going to go like this. Give them that elbow drop. Yeah, people's elbow. The team is like, damn.
Yeah, but yeah, I'll be like the podcast. Yeah, I would like to show fun. Thank you for joining us with that. I appreciate a lot. Yeah, thank you guys so much for listening. As always, I'm Tyler and I'm Charlie and catch us next week on believing the bizarre podcast as bizarre as you are.
So before we get started, again, our patrons, we got so much going on in Patreon. What's? Don't you? Yeah. Don't you do that. I'm hearing like a popping. Are you popping? Yeah, like. Nope. Check your headphones. They're there.
That's good for you and me. Yeah, they say you're not supposed to do that when you have a sore throat. Yeah. I don't even have a sore throat. I just been talking on stop today. Yeah. Have fun.
