In this episode of News & Views, host Dale Jackson engages in a fiery conversation with State Senator Arthur Orr regarding pressing political issues, highlighted by recent developments in Donald Trump's legal battles and our method of political discourse.
Key Discussion Points
1. Suspension of Trump's Legal Case
- Trump’s hush money case in New York has been suspended indefinitely, raising questions about the effectiveness of legal challenges against him. Dale argues that this situation underscores the failure of what he terms "lawfare."
- Many believe that the allegations were overstated, with Dale commenting that the political narrative against Trump may backfire as he retains significant support.
2. Legislative Highlights
- Senator David McCormick's Victory: His Pennsylvania election win is seen as a signal of shifting tides within the Republican party. Dale criticized former Senator Bob Casey for attempting a recount that he deemed absurd.
- Senator Katie Britt's New Role: Britt has been appointed as vice chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, setting the stage for future legislative priorities.
3. Mental Health Study on Puberty Blockers
- Alabama Congressman have called for the NIH to release findings about the effectiveness of puberty blockers for transgender youth. Dale highlights strong opinions from Congressman Gary Palmer and Mike Rogers, expressing concern over the withholding of potentially critical information.
4. Controversial Cases in Alabama
- The episode delves into the gruesome murder case of Vicki Lynn DeBlote, where the convicted killer is painted in a controversial light by the media. Dale criticizes how the narrative around cases like this can mislead public perception.
5. Oppression Narratives in Schools
- Dale shares insights about perceived oppression among LGBTQ groups on Alabama campuses, especially in response to changing social attitudes tied to Trump's presidency.
- He contends that students are struggling to find their identities in an evolving political landscape but emphasizes that expecting safety spaces in a public university setting is unrealistic.
6. Controversies in Education
- The podcast touches on the tensions within Huntsville's education system, particularly between educators and legislators over accountability in public schools. Senator Orr emphasizes the legislature's proactive role in educational reform.
7. Political Dynamics and Future Predictions
- Dale touches on the dynamics of upcoming elections, emphasizing that if Trump secures another term, the implications could be significant for the Republican Party and legislative movements.
Practical Takeaways
- Understanding Legal Implications: Listeners should be aware of how ongoing legal cases against public figures influence public opinion and political campaigns.
- Engagement in School Policy: Arguments surrounding educational reforms illustrate the need for parental and community engagements in shaping school policies.
- Anticipating Political Outcomes: The conversation reflects a continually shifting political landscape where voter sentiments are crucial for future elections and party strategies.
Conclusion
This episode of News & Views offers a deep dive into current political controversies, focusing heavily on the implications of Trump's legal challenges and their effect on the broader American political landscape. Dale Jackson's commentary provides listeners with a mixture of political analysis and reader engagement, painting a compelling picture of the themes shaping today's news.

It's time for news and views with your host, Dale Jackson. Donald Trump's case in New York has been suspended indefinitely. There's a scenario here that we all knew was coming. This is not going to be convicted. This whole thing is ludicrously insane. We'll jump into the seven things here in just a minute. We'll talk a little bit about this because we do the seven things every single day at this time. We're going to do that right here. If you'd like to weigh in and ask some questions about this, we'll get in four.
It really looks like we're going to see this thing go away and definitely suspended. All this other stuff is going on. Delaying it. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's over. That's the moral of the story here. You can couch this, frame this, pretty it up any way you want. The reality of the situation is this story is now over. Lawfare did not work.
It was a massive, pathetic, ridiculous failure, and now you have people who spent the last eight years of their lives telling you that Donald Trump is the devil, and Donald Trump is the demon, and Donald Trump is the worst. And what did they get out of it? What did they get out of it? Uh-uh, Supreme Court that's overwhelmingly conservative.
Yeah, you got that. You got yourself a second term of Donald Trump.
and they can't learn anything by it. They can't. They're incapable of learning anything on their own. So it has to basically be beat into their skulls that they don't understand what in the world's going on. So Trump-Hush Moneycase said this seems suspended indefinitely. We'll get into that here on the seven things you should be talking about today, right here on News and Views. That's brought to you by my friends over there at the Alabama Men's Clinic. No, go see my friends at the Alabama Men's Clinic today. And when you do, of course, you better make sure you tell them that Dale Jackson has sent you.
Alright, I think we're ready to go here, so let's get right to it as time for the often duplicated never replicated the most critically acclaimed segment here on news and views brought to you by Alabama's most trusted journalist. It's the seven things you should be talking about today. The seven things you should be talking about today, number seven.
are u.s. senator elect david mccormick or dave mccormick excuse me we're on first term you know you call me his victory in pennsylvania it is now locked in bob kasey has basically stepped down not stepped out is what we put it he has acquiesced and stopped his stupid recount where he was embarrassing himself by
Seeking votes that shouldn't have been counted an absolute embarrassment for everyone involved, but hey you're counting votes forever Maybe you can change things. That's this thought process I said it by sir Bob Casey I said that it's uh, it's good to go out with honor and integrity and it's like you didn't do any of this you didn't do any of this Yeah, you went out like a lying dog you you complain for years you guys that Donald Trump out there he questioned anything yet you were willing to openly court illegal votes and
and then talking about accepting an honor you do that you're a loser number six uh... alabama united senator katie britain republican out of montgomery has been appointed as a vice chair of the national republican senatorial committee uh... this is the senate arm uh... of the republican campaign apparatus but this is a a pretty good position to be on that because you're helping people get elected when you help people get elected
You gain power. And I don't know why you'll say, well, this is the very sloppy thing. Yes, 100%. It's a very sloppy thing. That's exactly correct.
But she is there, leading this team, or part of this team, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, he's the chair here, their goal, come up with legislative priorities that will help them expand the map. That's what they want to do, get more Republican senators so they can do more conservative things. Roger Blackburn's on this, like I said, Tim Scott, these are good people on this.
Number five. Several Alabama Congressman have called for the National Institute of Health to release the results of the study on the effects of puberty blockers on mental health for transgender youth. The study led by Dr. Johanna Olson Kennedy found no significant mental health improvements for two years of puberty blockers, yet the NIH has withheld this study, Gary Palmer of Hoover. He said, hey,
Delaying the release of this. Oh, I'm quoting here delay the release of this data undermines the scientific process end quote Mike Rogers Smackdown from Sactown He says tax pay dollars were used to fund this research of the public deserves to see the results. Why are they hiding it? Well, they'll tell you There's been no change using the hormones on these people's mental health so it doesn't work
And if they are afraid, if they tell you putting chemicals in kids doesn't work, you'll want to stop doing it. It's all politics. They failed. They know what they don't want you to know. Number four, Kerry Dale Grayson.
was convicted for the brutal murder of Vicki Lynn DeBlote, excuse me on the name, I apologize for that, but she was murdered in a pretty horrific way. They threw her off a cliff after beating her and then they went mutilated her body and cut her fingers off and were showing her fingers off. That's what happened here. Just an absolute horrific situation. Well, the media for some reason is pretending that this guy died like some hero instead of like a dog.
Oh, he told the warden to F off. Oh, how strong and brave. Yeah, the warden then said, okay, walked in the other room and killed it. Oh, my God. Oh, it's so sad. Kudos to the governor of this state. Forget about naming prisons after KIT. I'm done with that. Forget about it. We need to start naming prison cemeteries after KIT because she is putting bodies in the ground and she is putting killers on I number three.
Apparently gay people in 2024 have to pretend that they are being oppressed on Alabama's college campuses, Auburn, specifically because President-elect Donald Trump exists and the whole diversity, equity, and inclusion thing being shut down.
Yeah. The students are so impressed that they're doing interviews with AL.com, giving their names and talking about it. Like they're late. Oh, it's so hard. People are taking away our safe spaces. Yes, that's right. You can't have a room at a public university for just gay people. No, it doesn't work. They're also complaining that people are making homophobic, transphobic jokes even after they know we're queer.
So people aren't walking on eggshells around you anymore. Too bad! Trump won! Yeah, we can do whatever we want now, apparently. And by the way, they're so impressed that they're leaving the safety of the college campus where everyone thinks like them and going to public parks and meeting up. Sounds weird. Number two. In a completely predictable move, a former U.S. Representative Matt Gates, a Republican out of Florida, has withdrawn his nomination as an attorney general
And, um, this is not a surprise. So he will not be the Attorney General. Donald Trump's potential future administration now has someone else there. We'll talk about that in a second. His decision that comes amid growing concerns over his past, including an investigation into sex trafficking allegations. Which, by the way, if you go look at these sex trafficking allegations, the person making them is in jail for making false sex trafficking accusations about somebody else. Kinda weird.
But there is the whole 17-year-old girl thing and crushing up of ED meds and putting him in energy drinks and going to town and just all sorts of crazy stuff here that Matt Gaetz allegedly has said and done. He wasn't going to get confirmed. Everybody knows that he couldn't get confirmed. Pam Bondy!
The former Florida Attorney General is paying now time for the number one thing you should be talking about today. The sentencing in Donald Trump's Manhattan criminal hush money case has been postponed indefinitely following his recent election win with no date set by Judge Juan Mershan. This thing is over.
Trump's legal team argues vacationing dismissed to facilitate a smooth transition of power, which is true, citing a memo that bars prosecution of sitting presence, which is true. Well, prosecutors maintain that no law requires dismissal and proceedings initiated before a president elect assumed office.
They want to keep this going as long as they can, because the law fair worked so well for them. There are 53 Republican senators. You have an argument being made that Republicans' majority in the House was supposed to be lost. It was kept. You have Republican President Donald Trump, who they're talking about here, and the law fair did not work. And I will give you another data point here in just a second, okay? Listen to this, prosecutors suggested alternative options.
such as deferring the case until the end of Trump's upcoming presidential term rather than outright dismissal. Now, I've given you some things that are true and laid out how silly some of their arguments are, but here's an undeniable fact. Okay, and this is important. It is an undeniable fact.
that when people went before exit pollsters on election day and they asked them one of the things that were you most about the country why are you out here voting what are you doing here one of the most important issues democracy was a very important one more so that i thought it would be okay so i i i take the l on that one but you know what's most funny about that when they did those polls when they found those numbers when they did that math
Donald Trump was the preferred candidate of the people that thought democracy was a major issue in the upcoming election. I want you to think about that. And I want you to understand, at this particular point in time in America, when they told you for 10 years almost, that Donald Trump was a threat to democracy, the American people heard that and said, no, you're a threat to democracy.
Suddenly, I know you are, but what am I? But that's the truth. You're a threat to democracy. You're the one that's a threat to democracy. That's what American voters decided that Democrats were a threat to democracy. The media is a threat to democracy. That's not me saying it. I don't know if it was stupid, but over more than half of the people who voted it with democracy is a major issue, voted for Donald Trump.
So good job. Drop the case, you idiots. You have completely lost the plot. You have screwed up your entire governing apparatus. You've lost everything. You've lost the house. You've lost any losses in Supreme Court. Now you're going to lose it even more. Because Donald Trump's going to get more picks. Donald Trump is going to get more picks. That is a fact of life.
So you've lost the Supreme Court more because you played this law fair garbage and you were the actual threat to democracy if you wanted to play that game. We gotta take a quick time out. This is the fastest hour of radio anywhere on your radio dial. Glad to be here on a Friday. Get your questions in for 10 with him. 205-545-995-0. Talk or text, get that in right here, right now. We'll continue.
It is the fastest hour of radio anywhere on your radio dial. And today is absolutely true that that is half, or can't even say it. I'm so tongue tight because it's so fast. Calm, calm down. It's absolutely true today. We got state Senator Arthur War coming up here in just a little bit. I'm going to talk to him about the leadership battle going on in the Alabama legislature. I also want to talk to him a little bit about KIV. I'm going to make a push on this.
I don't want K.I.V to have a prison named after her. I think that's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. I've made this point before. I don't like it. I don't like the way it comes off. I instead, because I'm a great guy, I want her to have a prison cemetery named after her, and I'm going to ask her or about that. We're going to work on this and see if we can get this done.
and figure out whether that's the right answer. Also, with Senator Orr, I don't know if those of you who have been following me on social media may know this. I got into it with a city school board member from Huntsville a couple of days ago. Many, many moons ago that that person had doxed my son. Now, Cindy and I actually disagree on this on whether it was actually doxing. So Cindy and I have a little bit of a disagreement on this.
Cindy believes that she was fishing for information about my son and wanted other people to dox my son. Say what school he goes to and all sorts of stuff like that. Now, most people don't know this, but I'm just in full disclosure. In the past, there had been reporters for the Aniston Star who started stuff and people started calling my son's school, asking about me.
So I'm kind of sensitive to this. You know, if you've always said that, Dale Jackson, he's such a sensitive little guy. Hey, well, what a snowflake. So I'm a little sensitive to this. And I have made it very clear to this person that I'm not going to tolerate this. And she's going to stop. Well, she's made it very clear that she's not going to stop. She admitted she did it. Then she said she did. Then she admitted she did.
But she did it because I'm anti-public school. How am I anti-public school? Well, I believe in school toys. I think people should have the same opportunity that I have to send my kid to the school I wanted to go to. It's not predicated based on where he lives. It's predicated on what I can afford. And I'm blessed in that regard. I deserve it. Don't get me wrong. I'm a hard worker and I do all these things I can for this reason. No question about that.
I don't believe that the school system works as it is. It's time to change it and try something else. That's what I believe. I think it's a fair thing to believe. She thinks that's a reason why a grant should be docked. And we should know what school he goes to. And really, I'll be completely honest with you. This is just giving you way more information than you need here, but I'm going to anyway. When I coach soccer teams and stuff and basketball teams and baseball teams and stuff like this,
I don't take photos of like Grant and like post them online with like his uniform and so I try not to I'm not say it's never happened but I'm a little weary about that not because I worry for him but I also and I surely don't post I never posted a picture of another kid on my social media with Grant because I just don't think I don't think that's fair to that parent so that that's sort of my thing I don't think it's fair to the parents that go to the school
that my kid goes to to put them in that situation and maybe i'll be a little too oversensitive about it uh... but that's that's what i do so i i like that and uh... so i i called around i said look don't do this your anti-public school
Now she is like having a major crash out. And that's what the kids say, Steve, by the way. They call it crash out on social, on social media, where the kid where what you do is you like freak out on social media and you don't stop freaking out. You just, you have this slow motion train wreck. Well, I went to bed last night around 10 o'clock. Okay. And I got up this morning and at like 2 a.m. she was still raging, not even against me anymore. Just about random people.
Um, she wrote this on social media. I would be so humiliated if a man in my family attacked people on the internet unprovoked. What about y'all doing the whole Southern Democrat thing, the Southern liberal thing where you say y'all because it makes you seem folksy. You know, you say it's, it's phony. It's derogatory. These are the same people that would spin on you and call you trailer trash who dates your cousin if you disagree with them politically. Now,
I don't, she's having a crash out. I had my say with her. She stopped lying for two seconds and just was being rude. I was, okay, at least you're not lying. So I'll call it a day. So I wake up this morning and she's just continued crashing out on social media over this. It's still going on as we speak at this very moment. So it ended at two o'clock this morning. She got up this morning and it's been going on for a couple of hours. I haven't said anything to her about this.
But, you know, she's having a rough time. She's making a bunch of stories about people being paid to attack her and all these other things. I would be so humiliated if a family, if a man in my family attacked a woman unprovoked and then there's
She made a list of ways that I attack people online. It goes like this. First, I act like a victim. Then I attack a female. Then I reach out to a man to help me. And what she's referencing there is I reached out to a school board member. And I said, hey, look, I just don't want her to mention my kid. That's it. He then proceeded to try to knock my kid as well. But that's another story, Ryan, or nods a piece of garbage to an incredibly accused drug dealer. But that's another story. Attack female again, attack female again, attack female again, attack female again.
So she's crashing out alive. I'm crashing out on the air. We're having a bunch of big problems here. But when we come back, I'm going to ask Senator Orr a certain question about this young lady, Andrea Alvarez, and see what he thinks about a little run-in they had. So we'll have this conversation with State Senator Arthur Orr here in just a moment. Thank you very much for being here on News and News. I'm glad to be here. Great day. That's all Trump's case is over. We all move forward.
It is the fastest hour of radio anywhere on your radio dial. I am Bill Jackson. This is news and views. I want to bring a state senator Arthur or on the program to talk to him about a couple of things going on in the Alabama legislature. Right now they're trying to figure out who their leader is going to be and all this other stuff. And I know all that seems very yawn worthy. But I have a couple of other interesting questions to ask senator or we get to him here in just a second. But you can weigh in right now.
205-545-9950. Get your questions in for 10 with him. We'll get to those next. Let's bring State Senator Arthur or on the program here today.
We appreciate him being here. Uh, represents Moreton County Decatur area, also parts of limestone and Madison County as well. Uh, he is a big muckity muck in the Alabama State Senate. Uh, and Senator, I'm going to get to the most boring part of this conversation that we're going to have from the beginning. So this is dependent on you as to how this goes.
Greg Reed is stepping down as the Senate pro tem in the Alabama State Senate to work for Governor K. Ivy. Now, K. Ivy is on a killing spree right now. This was a video game. She'd have one of those little things that pop up and goes, boom, kill streak. K. Ivy, I guess she's icing people left and right. Should he want to go work for K. Ivy? She's scary right now, right? Am I crazy?
Are you kidding me? Well, that's not my real question. I just wanted to say all that other stuff about KIV being a stone cold killer. I don't want to talk about that. I have an idea though for a resolution that you might want to consider. Let's take KIV's name off the prison that's being built and put it on a prison cemetery.
cuz he's put people in the ground so let's let's put her put her name on the prison cemetery that's not that's an appropriate honor and we all wings over we're supposed to be talking about Thanksgiving and Christmas and all that she's not the Grim Reaper people get put to death for their crimes you know that's on them so they'll be laying it off on the good governor
I'm applauding her. I sent her press person a message yesterday that said base KIV. That's what I love it. I'm a huge fan of this KIV. I'm a huge fan. All right, serious question about all of this.
Isn't this a step down? Am I crazy? You run for office, you become the Senate pro, Tim. You're leading the Senate. The Senate is a very powerful body in the state of Alabama. You can think that be a stepping off point to maybe something bigger, a congressional run, a Senate run, a governor run, a run for, I don't know, state comptroller or something. I don't know. But to go work in the workforce development thing for the governor, what is that? That seems like a huge step down. Am I wrong?
Well, it depends what your focus is. If you want to be on the political ladder, so to speak, and you're constantly climbing and wanting to achieve greater perceptively heights on that political ladder, then, yeah, you could make the argument going into the governor's cabinet is not a good move to move up that ladder. But quite frankly, Dale,
Sometimes you get tired of the ladder. And I would also say that a lot of times you get to a place on the ladder that you're, you like being and you would like to, you're effective in what you're doing for the people in your district, for the state. And that's what I would, you know, it's not about me, but I would tell you about myself. I like the position I'm in. I'm able to help our area up here in North Alabama, help other areas in the state, somewhat like
Richard Shelby did for years and years while he was in the U.S. Senate. So just because you're not climbing that ladder doesn't mean you're a failure or you drop that out sometimes you can feel like you can be more effective somewhere else. In talking to Senator Reed he makes the point that he had been in the leadership group for
I forget how many years, but a good wild, 10 years or so, and he believed it was time to just pursue other opportunities. So good for him. We wish him the best, and then we will certainly soldier on in the Alabama Senate.
and it just seems like a weird choice to me i mean i i i remember young state senator i knew when i was a young talk show host i think both these guys are going places yet here we are seventeen years later in the exact same spot we were for you and i failures maybe were the losers here in it you know we listen i mean think about it there are you want to be in new york city do you want to deal with all that are you happy with uh...
grand in your wife in hustle alabama in the state in your bermingham show you've done well and uh... i know of course you hadn't coped out but it's not always worth the squeeze you know again always grasping aspiring grabbing stop giving a real answer to it i'll do it obviously ridiculous question i don't think it was a real answer to this thing stop it all right uh... let me let me ask this then
You're not in the mix. It appears for this. It looks like Steve Livingston and Garland Gudger, two North Alabama guys, one from Coleman, one from, I guess, Scottsboro, but he's, you know, part of the, I would argue, part of that delegation in Huntsville and Madison County, that kind of area. Both North Alabama guys, the argument was made to me and Sam Cavan rejected this yesterday, so I'll say Senator Graham, my State Senator. I said, if Livingston had the votes, they'd have had the vote.
That's a Jeff Poor premise that maybe there's a little more contention there in the state Senate than there is. Do you agree with the premise that if he had the votes, they would have had the votes or the votes still work in the room? I think it was unknown. I think both candidates believe they have the votes. And in that mix, the greater number of the membership, why are we trying to jam it right now and rush it through? We've got time.
and let's take time to reflect and talk to the candidates. I wanted to talk to one of the candidates and follow up on a conversation. So it seemed like it behooved us just to chill out, eat a bit, rush, and take that time to do any due diligence needed to be done and then have the vote on Saturday.
OK, that's fair enough, fair enough. All right, I want to ask you a question. This was relayed to me. I don't know how much you've been paying attention. But a Huntsville City School Board member, Andrea Alvarez, who docked Grant a while back and got herself on my radar, has been crashing out over the last couple days on social media because I've been criticizing her. And it's been rather amusing to me. She was up till 2 AM last night doing this. So I don't know what's going on with her.
From what I understand, this was relayed to me by a member of the Madison County delegation. You and, um...
Board member Alvarez had a little bit of a run in here recently at a meeting behind closed doors where she took offense to the fact that you guys were, quote, trying to do their jobs for them. That's how it was relayed to me because you were creating all these standards. Now, she tells me that a hospital schools are great. I relate to her that 37% of the kids can read at grade level. So I don't consider that passing, but she does.
What happened there? Well, it was my understanding that you kind of were very stern about your opposition to her premise. What would you like to say about that? Anything? Well, I'd like to say I don't remember the the the circumstances that it would great detail. I do recall this down that the legislature going back for the last five or six years has really taken the lead
with education. And by that, I mean with the Literacy Act, the Numeracy Act, school discipline bills, school safety bills, principal bills, teacher, just on and on a teacher pay and other, moving the pay grid, et cetera, trying to help mid-term teachers in their middle years
get more compensation. The list is pretty long. And my point was in that meeting, the legislature has taken the initiative because we've not seen a lot of initiative from other parties. In other words, I remember with the math bill, when I saw that we were 52nd, I think, after the defense schools and the District of Columbia and eighth grade math back in 2019, it's like, we have a problem. And what are we doing?
dig deeper and we're not doing anything. So we put together a math bill working with some experts here in the state and passed it through the legislature. And so the poor quality that we find in areas of the state with public education, and they got challenges, I get it. But we're not educators by and large in the legislature, but we've rolled up our sleeves and we're getting things done to address the deficiencies as we see them throughout education.
So that's that is my recollection of that. Excuse me. In this instance, I was looking for a real answer to a non-serious question. Did you and Miss Alvarez get into it? Yes or no? If someone defines that as getting into it, they hadn't seen me get into it before. But that was more of a explanation.
And if I'm going to get into it, they'll see a whole different demeanor than the one they saw. It was explained to me that somebody needed reality explained to her, and you were willing to put forth the reality of the situation. Is that fair? That's fair. OK. State Senator Arzier is the headlady. Oh, how many states, Senator Arthur or destroys Huntsville City Square Board member and closed door meeting. So that we got.
you'd be missed misrepresenting and thank you so so you know the the funny thing about this and i don't want to belabor this too long she's angry about school choice that that that's really it and she's she's referred to me as anti-public school i just want to clarify something with you just on the record here
I said this to you. I want to make sure maybe you don't remember this, but I believe I said the following words to you. Senator Orr, my kid is already enrolled in a private school. Make my income the cutoff point and for upper income to allow people to go to private school. Did I not tell you that on the radio? If I don't recall it specifically, but I'll take your word.
Okay, I didn't know if you remember, though. I did. And I told everyone this. I'm like, I'm not trying to grift money from the public school system. First of all, I don't think that's what that is. Secondly, her premise is that I'm trying to get money out of the public school system to pay for my kid to go to school. What I'm trying to do, and this is a quote that I know I've said a thousand times, I want other people to have the same opportunities my son has. And that shouldn't be dependent on what school district they live in. And that's the whole point of the school choice thing. Have you noticed a VIMIT?
and negative, angry response from school board members about the passage of school choice. Besides this one, Andrea Alvarez. You get an unpleasant response when it comes up, but it's not it's just or hostile or whatever. They are looking presumably at the larger picture of education. And we've had big budgets here in the last several years. And, you know, they've got a lot of money.
And, but we had, you know, hopefully we'll see the improved outputs in the days ahead. One last question here. And this is the last one. If the Department of Education went away today, how would that affect our Alabama schools? You're talking about U.S. Department? Yes, sir. Oh, it'd be awesome. It'd be great. We're tired of the meddling. All the teachers hate it. They just more reports and forms and everything else. It'd be it'd be tremendous.
I agree 100% senator or thank you very much for being here. Linda McMahon is the new secretary of education. The obviously the Department of Education is not going away. But there are a lot of people that want to see it go and it doesn't surprise me one bit that those people are going to reform that organization and make it better. I've got my own issues with local boards of education as you heard in that interview with Andrea Alvarez who right now is currently still crashing out.
online. She's having a rough one right there. So don't go bother her. Don't do that. There's no reason to do that to bother Andrea Alvarez of Huntsville City School Board District 3. Don't do that. Don't do that. Do do this. Send it your question for 10 with him. 205-545-9950. We'll get to those next right here on News and Views. You're listening to News and Views with Dale Jackson.
It's time to answer the deep questions. It's 10 with him on news and news. He is I, I am him. It is 10 with him right here on news and news. I am Dale Jackson. If you say her name, she shall appear. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
My lovely wife Cindy is here with us. Good morning. How are you? I don't really like that. You don't like being referenced as Beetlejuice? No. That's the demon that appears. Well, I was talking about Andrew Alvarez on the radio here. I was talking about how you said that maybe Grant wasn't Docs. We disagree on this. I don't think you know what Docs he is. I think you think that she was merely referencing him to try to get me to shut up.
Yes. Okay. All right. There's some questions here about this issue. I just want you to be here in case some come up. Um, Calvore writes this and this. Kudos to you in your parental discretion on grants schooling. Speaking of your sensitivity, when Grant was born, were you there the entire delivery and did you cry?
Did I cry? No. I remember hearing the two things happen during the delivery. Once Grant came out, I said, hey, could you start giving me all I've expected me now? That was the first thing that happened. Secondly, I unplugged the little warmy lamp to charge my phone. Neither those things happen.
No, you didn't cry. Was that was I help you? You were not helpful. You were scared out of your mind true You had no clue what was happening absolutely true I told you to stay near my head what you did because that was wise But no, you did not cry. I think you're just very overwhelmed two things happen to their that delivery that I remember one They're like push and you're like
and out he came and I remember I remember the doctor picked him up with one leg and like plopped him down on you and I was like this is so weird what's happening and then the second thing I remember is afterwards they're like you need to go to the bathroom and you're like yes and you start getting up and you're like oh I can do it myself and they're like I don't think so and you're like yeah I can and then you take like half a step and almost collapse on the floor and I was like
And you did not even try to help that was great. I went back to my phone. I was like, what have you been filming that? All right. Does Andrea Alvarez have pink hair? And why is she? Why is she working instead of posting on social media? I don't know. I mean, she's still crashing out sitting, which is a term I'm falling in love with. She's losing her mind.
Does she have any other employment? I have no idea. I don't really care about her life. Someone asked me, how many kids does she have? I don't care. I don't know. Who cares? I just concerned about her job performance. Well, it is well concerning that she's spending so much time and effort on arguing on the internet. I mean, there's got to be better things she'd be doing right now. Right. She's not right. She's like, you get paid for your opinion. I'm like, yes. Like, is that an insult? People pay you for what you've been? I mean, you're actually doing your job, but I don't know what she's doing.
This is a real job. It's just so crazy. Would you challenge the angry school board lady to an old bar wrestling match? This is a question for me, but I answer is obviously no to me, would you? No. Don't want to fight her? I don't think that's necessary. What about beating her up in an alley?
Okay, I'm just at these are questions. I look I'm a journalist over here. I'm being turned on journalism me. Okay. Give me a second here Let's eat tails sounds like the this little woman to enter Alvarez would like to talk with Joe Rogan after you're done with her What do y'all think of that? What do y'all think about that? Listen, she won't even talk to me on the air Yeah, that's why she's doing this whole thing on social media
She's not going on. I can promise you that. And why would they want her to? But I just don't think that that's the case. Why don't we understand she won't talk to me? Remember, the reason she's mad right now is because she was upset that I said if you were getting free food at school in a backpack on Friday and taking home to feed your family.
that maybe DHR should go to the DHS or whoever should go to the house and be like, hey, what's going on here? Why can't you provide food for your family? She got mad about that. That was what started all this time, this round. You know what I was hating public school, but she's also mad about school choice.
where we had this, okay, oh, oh, okay, here's a question for you. Will political history recall the Democrats were in power when the Roe v. Wade decision was struck down? You're a woman, and I just want to ask you this question, I think you're a woman, I just do, pronouns. I have two X chromosomes. Is that right? I think it's XY. That's men. What is a woman? Two X chromosomes, right? Still trying to find out the answer to that question, are we?
Yeah. I have a kid, so I think I got it down to at least somewhat. Moving on. Will this be an issue moving forward? Is it still an issue already? We decided in 2024 that we're just going to leave it up to the state. Are you asking me? Yeah, I'm just not asking for your opinion on it. I'm asking you, is that is you're a woman, so I'm trying to get your perspective here. Are you got are women done complaining about this? No, of course not. Okay. Is that how big of a deal is this going to be? Is it going to be a big issue forever?
It just depends. It is right now because they've changed things recently, so people are trying to pretend that that is something that's very important. Well, they lost. They lost on this issue. They lost on the democracy issue. Donald Trump's going to get another Supreme Court justice. It's going to be up to the states. That's what it should be. That's what it should be.
Well, it's funny because people will say Donald Trump's abortion ban, but he was not even. I think I supported this. Yeah. And so, yeah, that's why I was answering. And so that needs to be clarified. Like, this wasn't something that Donald Trump did. This was just the Supreme Court decision. Now, they want to blame him because I guess he put that one of those people. I don't know. Anyway. He kind of took credit for it. But again, in reality, it was something that the Supreme Court decided. So it's nothing to do even with the president. I agree with that. I agree with that. All right. Let's see. This is a good question. You've lived here much longer than I have.
Do you know any of the kids or grandkids of the Nazis that the United States government brought to Huntsville in 1940? Have you ever met any of the Nazi children? No, and I don't know that they would admit that. My grandfather was a Nazi. They're not going to do that. Maybe we should have media at the von Braun Center, which is named after a legit Nazi. I'm saying a meeting of German grandchildren is what I was suggesting.
Hey look, the world has moved on. Those guys did a lot of good for this country. It sucks what they did in Germany and all this other stuff, but we use them. Remember that. That's what we did. We utilize them for our own benefit. Man, oh man. That's a very rough way to end the week. But that's okay. Thank you very much for being here. Listening to news of news. Thank you, Cindy. Thank you, Steve. Thank you, everyone else. And we'll be back on Monday. Maybe? You never know around here. Stay tuned.
