We're talking Joanne Hughes from the Renaissance shop, where there's always wonderful stuff and different stuff every time you visit. It's a really interesting experience. It changes all the time, every day. You know, I mentioned so many times, we never know what's coming. Well, a lot of things we don't know what's coming in. But right now, well, first of all, I mentioned that
Right yeah, oh my god. I'm blanking out. We're having a huge sale right after Thanksgiving Black party sale right in Saturday and 29th and 30th and we're having a sale on everything very in crisis like 20% off on all poverty. We have to break poverty
30% off on artwork and 50% off on all glass in China. We have beautiful, beautiful China. And my gosh, if people, you know, if you want to give a gift or something, oh, this is just really beautiful. Redwood China, just beautiful, complete sets. So they're great buys, they're great gifts.
And so, and on furniture, which we have nice furniture, reasonable offers, you know, we're still trying to raise money for the nurses. So, you know, we can't give it is practically giving it away though on some of the things, but we always have to.
The great things for the people that are shopping and to run us on shop, they get great buys because we have to keep things moving. People donate and it's just very worthwhile. So we have lots of Christmas things, Christmas decorations, Christmas gifts, beautiful vintage ornaments and decorations. So if you haven't decorated, I think people are just starting to decorate.
of the house. I see my neighbor's lights out the window right now. Yeah. Well, we haven't started yet, but we've had some great ready-made wreaths come in, you know, just fill in the box. And probably about half the price of what you would if you ordered them online. What? They go quickly. I know who I wanted. I thought I have double doors and I thought, oh my God, there was one that was just beautiful, but there was only one. So I have to get back to one. So I guess I'll have to do it myself.
Well, we have lots of beautiful furniture in tables and chairs and just everything for the home and gifts. The antiques are getting, oh, did I mention we have a beautiful grandfather clock? Really? Perfect. I love the sound of it. Oh, wow. When you come into the shop, if you look to your right, it says you come in the door, it's standing there.
and it would look great in any home. Sure, put it in the hallway. Yeah, and we have sofas and we have lots of lamps and really interesting lamps, really well-made, very heavy. Now, you sold all the animal lamps, right? Well, heavy lamps, it's important to me because when I've gone to the stores and bought them, I notice how lightweight they are. Even the metal lamps are lighter today.
And I was just reading something about it or hearing about it on the radio that the metal they were using now is much lighter than it was years ago. Well, that's true. That's true. The process is different. So anyway, when you have animals running around or little kids, easy to knock over lamps. Well, that's true. That's true.
So we have everything for parties if you're having holiday parties and Thanksgiving and beautiful serving trays and warming trays and lanterns. And if you need an extra coffee maker or all sorts of things. Well, it's all the more reason to go in the next couple of days so that you're all ready for Thanksgiving. Yeah. So just about anything you need, I would say it's hard to
to the attic. Think of your house and all the things you have. Oh, my goodness, we have a great library. Some have just, I mean, latest, latest books coming out. So you can find something for yourself or for a gift. And we have vintage jewelry, which you might find something very nice there. And the paintings are absolutely wonderful, ready to put up all matted
and interesting frames and I think I know I mentioned before sometimes if you don't like what's in the frame you can put your own in. Yeah and make it even better. Saved you a lot of money. Yeah. The whole reason we do this is to raise money for all of the money and we're all volunteers.
And everything we sell, the proceeds go to the services of the Lake Sanbury Regional Business Nurse Association. And I don't know whether people realize all the services that they offer. I mean, they're 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And they provide comprehensive health care services that support the independence of families in order to stay in the home longer.
And that's what everybody wants. That's what everybody wants. And I think people think about that a lot as they get older or their parents are getting older. And, you know, you might be able to help with some things, but you need health care. And sometimes it's just a little boost of everything. So it's a lot of services that they offer. Nursing care and rehabilitation and hospice.
personal care, pediatrics, everything. So it's great to have them here, and that's what we raised the money for. It makes a big difference in everybody's life in the area. It really does. And so we change it. And for anyone that has, if you're moving or downsizing or just want to change,
you know, everything you donate is, is tax deductible. And we do pick up, which makes it really easy for people. You know, that's, that's another thing. It's sometimes it's hard to get in. People do bring things by if they can handle it or they have someone to bring it in. But you can give us a call and depending on what it is, we will be happy to pick it up. No charge. If it's something we think that we can sell,
Yeah, that's great. It's a good thing all the way around. Yeah, if it's a lot of furniture and it's heavy, we do have movers that will come in. And again, no charge to you. And we do deliver furniture. There is a charge there. So that makes sense. It's good for everybody. We've been having wonderful decorative items coming in. So sometimes people just like a change in their home.
Yeah, it's a perfect time, perfect change of season to do that too. It is, and but the Christmas stuff is especially really special because, like I said, the old fashioned things that bring back memories to people and bring back memories to the kids and the Santa Claus and just all sorts of things. And unusual things from, you know, when people travel, they have their collectibles and we are so full.
That's why we're having another big sale coming out. Yeah. Well, the Renaissance shop is open five days a week. It's conveniently located right there on Newport Road. 107. We're a woman Tuesday through Saturday, 10 to 4. And we're at 107 Newport Road in New London. And the telephone number, if you have any questions about it, you can call Craig at the shop. He's our manager. And it's 603-526-6711.
Or Craig's not there. Barbara can help. But anyway, it's a cheerful place and you might just want to commit a look around. You may not be looking for anything in particular, but you know, it's a sort of thing. You'll know it when you see it. Yes, you might need a few extra frying pans or something like that.
willing or something something we have some cute things in for pets your practical things and like I said and one of the things I've noticed and that's happened to me I I order more things online now and now
If the wrong thing comes or it doesn't fit or something, you know, and you're ready to send it back and they'll say, oh, just donate. And I guess it's easier for them. It saves that money. So that's a good thing. We get a lot of new things. It could be great gifts for someone. All the more reason to just stop in at the store. I just heard recently a beautiful harness for my big main coon cat. And it was too small.
called about sending it back. And they said, no, no, just donate it. So if anyone needs a pink harness for cat. There you go. Yeah. Well, Joanne, it's always fun listening and talking about these things. And hopefully we'll get some more stuff next week.
We're getting it in every day, and I think there'll probably be some things in tomorrow, but if you have a few minutes, if you're doing the laundry or the dentist or just coming back, just pop in for a minute and take a quick run through.
I'll bet you find something. Yeah. And oftentimes, if you're on your way to go buy something specific, you know, at a department store, you see if it's there. Yeah. John, especially when you're looking for gifts, I go wrong sometimes in a fog because, you know, it's really hard to think of what can get someone. Oh, yes. If you see it, you know, he's, oh my gosh, that's perfect. Or like a, maybe a beautiful small lamp or a nice piece of artwork or
statue or whatever. Yeah, well. Or some, I mean, the prices are, I mean, we have jewelry, very inexpensive. I mean, people would be, we have decorative pillows for the, for the sofas. And, and we do have some nice, comfortable, easy chairs right now. Well, you're sure to find something. And, and I mentioned, I mentioned too, and I mentioned every so often.
It's a sofa that we have, even though it's a perfect sofa, looks like new, not the right color. Go online, they have great slip covers. They're perfect and you wouldn't know. You really, once you get them on, put them on properly, they look like they, that's where they came in like that. That's right. They're great these days. Yeah. Well, Joanne, thanks and we'll talk next week. Okay, John.
