As you may know, we showcase guns, gear, and anything else you might be interested in. We do our best to evaluate products from unbiased and honest perspective. I'm Chad Wallace, host of the most dedicated Fire podcast around. Tonight, as of right now, we have Tony, Rob, no rusty, but we have Derek from Kids Safe since he stayed with us at Shot Show.
We are here. We're the most dedicated because both Tony and I are frickin sick and we're still doing the podcast, at least we're not doing it from the hospital bed like Tony's done before. And since hey, Tony, you want to try to read this visa grips ad?
Maybe not, okay. I guess I'll get it. I was, and sometimes I'll read it in, you know, Rusty's voice, but Visigrips has been manufacturing hand-gird grips since 2003. With a reputation for quality consistency and innovation, top tier manufacturers choose Visigrips. They come in a variety of styles, patterns, colors, and are manufactured from proprietary G10 with carbon fiber or polymer.
available with pertinent or any texture. Visa offers a wide range of grips for all different fire herb types made in the USA. Visa grips gives you the grip you can count on. Now the featured group of the week this week is they have brought out some new ones that shot show and this is one of them. It is for the sharps brothers echelon.
and they are the VZ operator two grips. Now, if you use coupon code GGR 15, you will get 15% off-hand getting an in rifle grips over at VZ grips.com. And yes, we did stop and say hi. That was about the extent of it, at least what I did. So I would say what we did in firearms. So we'll ask Rob because he was the only one that didn't go to shot show. Did you do anything, Rob? No, I was arguing with ITO weekend about how to fix stuff.
Okay. Okay. They think that I don't have an IT degree, so I don't think about computers. Typical IT. Well, yeah. Now, I'll explain to the listeners. Now, Rusty uses Pertnir a lot when he talks, and Derek was calling him out on it. He's like, Pertnir. So, you know, you might hear Pertnir a few times in this show. You know, and Rusty's not even here to defend himself, but he'll probably listen and call us names next week.
So could it clarify clarification there? I think I keyed in on that I don't know if he actually said that I it's just something that when I hear that kind of twang I just I pops into my head and so it kind of stuck So I don't know if he said it directly or if it was me that kind of prompted it But it actually lasted all weeks. Yeah It doesn't freakin matter because it was funny. Yeah, it was funny partner. Yeah, that's right. So
Bandwidth sponsors are friends over at Patriot Patchco. They got their patch of the month club because, you know, you join it and every, every month you get a patch and a sticker and some sketch card. Speaking of Patriot Patchco, you know, probably most of us stopped and saw our friend Ryan, who does the patches for Patriot Patchco.
So go check them out. Don't forget to check out our affiliates and discounts. There's a crop 10 in there. I think I added Optics Planet finally. They kept sending me a thing saying, hey, you know, I'm like enough people buy stuff there that I figured I'd add it. And now that Rob's here, he can read our disclaimer as usual.

Only top quality materials are used in the manufacturing process. Together, all of this Pertnir gives you some of the best firearm experience around. Everything they have to offer is probably made in the USA Walker defense, where American ingenuity means Pertnir bleeding edge technology. And our Walker product of the week is our nickel boron BCG blemps back and stuff. Oh, wait, who blemish? Look, don't go. Yeah, some of these blemps are pretty good. These blemps, they're blemps. Is that Pertnir is good?
Their blem is a real deal. The original one, man, partner. Yeah. Sorry. No, that's good. Their blems are. I mean, you have to like stare at them for hours and you save like 30 bucks. Yeah. I mean, I bought blem lowers where it's like the logo was off center by a quarter of an inch. Okay. Yeah. So what it cares. But remember, use the code insider 15 for 15% off everything. A Walker DR.com.
Yeah, we're going to be talking about the shooting, hunting and outdoor trade show. And since I didn't go, I didn't go. I guess I'll be here for the ride. You'll be here for the ride now before we get started. You know, I am going to say when I was walking the show with Rusty on Tuesday, my FFL called me while I'm a shot show telling me that G force arm sent me one of their tactical lever guns and three 57s. So, you know,
It's here for review, but I thought that was ironic. You know, I'm walking the floor and here here my FFL calls me and says, Hey, we got again for you. So I thought that was pretty cool.
If you guys have anything in our tangents to go off on, we'll go off on them. I just threw some stuff in the show because it didn't really matter. But this one's for Rusty and me, and that's the CAC AK safety. And you can't find it on the website yet because it's not officially out yet.
But this is pretty cool and then can really make some people angry because it looks like an AK safety on the right side of an AR. So you can basically take your finger off the trigger, flip it up and it's unsafe.
So it works out way better than you would expect. And then on the other side, it's got a, you can just push it with your thumb to take it off safe. Kind of, you know, like a collegial style kind of, uh, no, it's a, it's a flip. It moves like 30 some degrees or something. It's, but it's for AR style and it looks like an AK safety and,
Like you said, it's not on the website. So I couldn't. Yeah. Yeah. And I mean, Rusty has a picture. I have a picture. I can look for it and see if I can find it. I don't worry about it. Tony, did you see this or did you only see the picture that Rusty had? I only saw the picture that Rusty had, but it intrigued me enough that it mentally I've built like an entire rifle around this safety. I think we all did actually. Yeah. It's weird, right? I mean,
We've done guys. Yeah, like if we didn't have the show, we'd be doing this show on our own. Oh, that's pretty slick. Yeah. Yeah. It's the picture's not showing up great, but it looks like a mini AK safety. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, so, okay. Go ahead. No, I was going to say, I thought it was pretty cool because it's intuitive to flip the safety on.
If you're right, Hannah, you just use your index finger to flip it up and down. Yep. Yep. Or you can flip it up and down with your index finger or on that if you want to take it off safe, you can use there's a little thumb push lever on the on the left side where the normal safety would be. Very good. Yeah. So and that's cool. I mean, it was I think they said it was going to be about 60, 70 bucks. Not yet.
Yeah, I just thought it was so unique, but it was unique. And I'm like, this is different. It's cool. I would build a whole gun around it because it's so different and so cool.
Yeah, Tony and Rusty and I, and we were all geeking out about it. And we were thinking exactly what we were going to do. Like, I mean, you could get like a seven, six, two by 39 lower. I said, paint a gloss of black. Palette the row colors. Yeah. He has like black and silver and stuff too. Okay. So just do.
Yeah, and it was designed by Middleton made, you can find them on Instagram. And so he does a lot of 3D printing stuff. And he said he designed it just to make people angry. And then it worked so well that people were like, wait a second, this worked pretty good. So I don't know. I thought I would love it. Yeah, it was, it was cool. I'm going to design something that's going to piss people off. Hey, guess what? We love it.
Yeah, exactly. Exactly. He just wanted to troll people. And then he's like, Oh, this works. So I mean, hey, that's that's rolling people. It's not such a bad thing, fellers. Yeah, I don't think it is or near. So.
Now, I put this next one in here just because I thought it was kind of cool just because I like the regular one so much. I know Tony did a little video on it. It's the Ross Martin subcompact. They came out with a subcompact and then they also came out compensated versions.
But I liked the original so much. The subcompact felt really good. They increased the texture a little bit, not too bad. It's tiny. It's not 365 size, but 365 XL size. It might be a little smaller. But I liked it. And supposedly they're available now. So if you want one, you can go find one. What did you think of these, Tony? I thought they were pretty cool. Did you see the conf version they had to?
I did. I did. So I'm down there on Friday and I'm talking to him because I had some time at the end of the day. So I'm BSing with Chris. And yeah, he showed me everything and it was really cool. And they just fit even my big ass hands. So I was kind of impressed by that. Yeah. And then right next.
And the trigger was the same. It's got some more cuts on it. So it looks like cooler. And I talked to them and they were like, yeah, people wanted more texture on it. So we did that. People wanted more serrations. So we did that. So I have to give them props. I mean, they're brand new company, but to turn around time of getting things that people ask for is like,
All right. It came out when last year, year before, last year, literally last year's shot show was the first, they came out like maybe a month before shot show. They announced them. Do they take clock mags? No. No, no, no, no, they don't take clock mags. They take Ross Martin, which are CZ, which CZ bags do they take? P10s.
We have the P10. So it was a very common man, even if it's not a Glock mags, how mag and it's all steel man. And their mags are 25 bucks. MSRP. So that's good. And how many rounds does this one hold 12 in the bag? 12 in the bag and the regular 15s and 17s will work in it. Yeah. Think about it. FN mags are 35 to 40 bucks a pop. Right. And they don't make third party up in mags.
Yeah. Yeah. So 25 bucks is pretty darn good for megs. Yes, decent. Yeah. Yeah. I like the fact that I like the fact that America made the American company and the turnaround time is ridiculous on giving us what they want. MSRP is 470. Right. It's already been cut for an RMR for us. Yeah, they use a plate system. So you can use
RMR RMS see know their plate systems actually pretty good. It's got a it's got a groove in the center and then it's got like another groove. So it doesn't want to move sideways or back and forth. I've got the FX 45 and that plate system.
You got to use a lock tight to keep it from rattling it from coming out. And I've got a plate system on the MOS system on one of my glocks. And that's another one that's like, I don't really care for. Yeah. And I don't care for the MOS. I personally wish they come up with one standard fricking footprint and say, everybody, this is a trip we're going to use. Enjoy. Use it. Have a nice day. I really think that's what's going to happen with their seeing this happening with Glock and the aim point. Yeah. That might be.
That might be the thing that is the future. We still talk about things. Do we switch up? We can be done with that one because we talked about it. What do you got? I'm pulling it up right now. So they have an Apollo 13, but they got Apollo 13 subcompact with a con.
And I thought that was off the hook. We shot that when we walked all the way down to the end, and it had one, two, three, four. I think it had eight holes in it, drilled in it, not as a comp, 40. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it has like a full-size grip, but it has three and a half inch bow. And with that 40, that sucker did not move. It was ridiculous.
between the porting and the fact that you've got a full-size grip to wrap your hand around. I really dug that. I'm a little bit talkative about it. So they got different finishes of everything. But I'm interested, Matt. I spoke to them. I thought that was just different, especially at the price tag of under $1,000.
right, right? Because they're MSRP on them's like a grant or something. Yeah, no, no, no. Yeah. And they have been there full sizes or like same MSRP. It's, it's pretty sweet. Rob. So yeah, that is what you're talking about. We had a note in there about the Caltech. Oh, we're getting to that. Well, I moved it down to the bottom because, you know, it's
We'll get to it. We'll get to it. Okay. Oh, you're just a five seven bamboy. Yeah, you won't be honest. Why? I like the round. It's a great round. You like spending too much on ammo? It's not as bad as it used to be. That's true. The five sevens become what I like about them is I've put my FN five sevens in the ends of
everybody military people you name it and they shoot it and they look at the round like oh my god this is gonna kick back but there's no kick and it's a flat shooting around you can I've taken my pistol when I was a better shooter and you can shoot a hundred yards just if you get good at holding it
Anyways, you want me to take this primary arm spot or you got to do something else? No, no, that's what I mean. We're kind of looking through this. Oh, that's what Tony just talked about, right? Yep. Yep. So take the primary arm spot. Well, we're in no real big doing anything today. So, you know, so take it. Is that the pistol? The Apollo 11? I like that. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Go ahead, Tony. Go ahead. Sorry.
Primary Arms seeks to provide the best shopping experience for everything firearms. They have a smorgasbord of products from your favorite manufacturers, including a complete selection of rifles, handguns, firearm parts, ammunition, and shooting gear. Everything Primary Arms comes with it. Everything Primary Arms carries comes with a commitment to superior service quality products and an expert support team.
And the product of the week is their beak arms for hammer AR 10 and be charging handle. Well, that's not the longest name they've had or something I've read on the show, but it is pretty decent, but it is a standard name. And remember to find everything you need to head over to primaryarms.com. Do we get a discount with them? We don't. I don't know if anybody gives I don't think anybody really has a discount was there. So this little free army. It's a looks like a 1911 clone.
Yeah, it's a 2011 clone. So yeah, yeah, that style. Yeah, they're nice. I mean, we've I've shot him. Tony's shot him. I don't know if Derek shot him, but it's the 1700 bucks. Yeah. Okay. Well, the entry fee to everything's to Kado is more than that. And these companies just figuring out how to do it without Chicago prices coming in lower. I
Look at it as, it's a fun range gun. I don't know if I would, I mean, 2011 is the main, and 1911 to me is the same thing. You need to clean and move this thing, that you need to pay more attention to it than you do with a polymer strike and fire gun. The benefits I get from that, in my opinion, aren't worth the maintenance that you'd have to put on that to make sure it runs all the time every time.
If I'm doing it as a range toy, if I'm running as a competition gun, that's totally different. But I can put this Glock in my belt and rock this Glock in my belt without taking it out for a freaking month. And it will still run. You're not doing that with an 19 11 because the design is over 110 years old. It requires you to move it and have it cleaned more so than the hundred and something year old is out of the 1911. Now, poop with it. But I just find it funny because that most in two years ago, this is called obsolete.
But you put a frickin double stack now millimeter mag get it and give it to the right people that says great all of a sudden it becomes great still has the things you all would it that was wrong with it before So did you get to try this out of range there now? Yeah, how to shoot yep flat nice very flat very little recoil for what I thought it would be All right enjoy it then we also shot the camber to
To why 11? Is that what it was? I think that might be what it is. I mean, I liked how the Kimber shot now, definitely. Two K 11. You got to remember to take the safety off. Yeah. You know, I won't fault myself. I'm still blaming the gloves because it flipped past, but it wasn't off. So I like to read that shot. We shot the nine millimeter and then.
What else did they have? They had another camera there that shot. Didn't you shoot the 45 in the same version, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I didn't shoot the 45. I didn't shoot the 45. I had the 45 shoot. Well, like a 45. Okay. I mean, it wasn't like slapping all over the place because you have a wide grip on it. You know what I mean? Right. So you can fit more hand on it.
I thought I was interested. I'll talk about the crazy gun that nobody showed me at the end, right? Or near the end. But I've done that. It's just talking about range days. I think those are the only two. And the fact that I was over at WraithWorks, and I almost put the owner of WraithWorks Eye out because I shot it with the freaking injection port. It's not the AR with the injection port directly in its face. Oh, yeah, I like bounced off as
And then right after that, Tony's ear plug came out. Oh, yeah. And that got real loud. Luckily, it was a 16 inch rifle, but we were inside the little tent thing. So the sound had nowhere to go. Yeah, it was. And it was so cold. The stupid freaking in the ear ear plug wouldn't freaking expand. Yeah, even after you picked it up. Yeah. Yeah. And then the other thing I shot was the
M. Red from Barrett. Yeah, when I was checking out leifers at the long range and they had to set up a shootout 980 yards with six five cream more. And that was just easy, easy pickings. Because again, they had a spotter there. They knew the wind, they knew everything. So all you have to do is put places across the edge where you want it. Right. And it rang it. But yeah, those
Yeah. Oh, and I shot the Rock Island 5.0. Right. Then that new one, right? That race gun they had. Yeah. Yeah. Bro, I don't get it. I mean, I know it's unique, but I was like, what's different than anything else? I think it's just their American made one. I think that's really more so what it is.
My shot also rock all in the shot DY 9 which I already did a video on on my Channel is their block loan. Oh, that was funny when you were there they you kept saying you wanted to shoot it and they kept pushing you towards towards their their Not the not the Turkish one So yeah, they import something from barrier arms called the DY 9 which is a gen 3 block loan, but they also make their own gen 3 block holds called the
Oh, I see that's 150 and 200. Yeah, that's right. And they're a little bit of frame, right? Yeah, last 17 Glock 19 and 26 or whatever it is. There's a 26 size. So I shot those and those were nice. I mean, they were nice, but they're just aluminum frame glock loads. Yeah, that's all they were. But it was funny when they were kept pushing you towards it.
So it has less, their Glock clone has less features in the Glock clone. They're importing for more money. Yeah. For twice the money, basically. Yeah. Yeah. Because I've been finding the D19 for 225. And that's with an optics plate or an optics cut. With an optics cut with the high under cut with the thumb rest. Yeah. With the mag funnel.
Yeah, it's got all kinds of stuff. Yeah, it's like whatever. I got you. Derek, you're pretty quiet over there. I know you saw some stuff. You got anything to talk about.
I really liked the feel of the Banish 9K. Okay. That was kind of cool. It's a little suppressor, I think it's 2.7 inches long, 132 decibels, doesn't have to have a booster, which was kind of cool. So I like that. I didn't see that. I didn't see the Banish 9K, but yeah, any suppressors always cool.
And then deadfoot arms, they always have their folders, like the side folders that you can shoot with it folded. I like those. Um, our RX M was kind of interesting for the price. I feel like Glock is a clone. Yeah. And also I checked out the COA. So the Glock 19 COA. Right. Right. The way I really like that. Yeah.
I hear, I hear about the mount, the mounting sister. Yeah, that's what when we talked about it, I don't know, a couple of weeks ago, we were all kind of like, it's, it's, I think it's an okay man. I don't have any problems with the side dovetails or however you want to call it. I just thought it was kind of weird that they just kind of were like, yeah, we're going to do this. And this is what it's going to be. And we figured that whole pistol system is just directed at law enforcement anyway. It's not really.
I mean, yeah, some will bleed over into the civilian market, but that whole Aimpoint Glock is just the department can just buy one pistol, everything's on it. They don't have to worry about it. Yep. That's what I'm looking at it. Savage came out with a 20-11 also. I'm not savage. Bursa. Bursa came out. Yes, Bursa came out. So I checked that out also.
he saws. They have their 1911. So they had the 1911 night stalker and it's coming now with a bobtail cut on a pistol grip and a built in compensated as you can take off or leave on to shrink them. Yeah, so I thought those were some interesting things again for budget pistol. I mean, what is it less than $700?
Yeah, I think you find them for like $6.99 all day long for what they are. They also make 2011 style ones in that, in a night stalker too. But I don't know if they did anything with it this year. They didn't do anything with that one that I saw. Yeah, I didn't see anything about it either.
And because I do, you know, because I live in a restrictive state. Um, single stacks. Yeah, single stack just works out fine. So I pay a little more attention to those, even though the fad right now, uh, in the industry, double stack. Yeah. I look at the single stack and I think they're interested.
Yeah, yeah, I get you. I get you. Now I did go see our friends over at Matador Arms. I don't know if you guys got to stop there. And they have something cool coming out. And I expect them to actually bring it out and actually not cost as much as some other companies. But they're coming out with a roller delayed nine. So that was cool. And then they also had over there. And I can't remember the name of it.
they there was a Glock 100% insert like kind of like the Ruger, but it's by somebody else. And so there's other companies doing that similar similar systems.
I thought I thought it was pretty cool. I was like, Oh, you're coming out with a roller delayed because, you know, the mean arm one is pretty sweet, but trying to find one or get one is a different story. So.
There's $1,200. Exactly. I don't know what the Matador Arms one is, but Matador Arms stuff isn't cheap, but it's not expensive either. I think the mean Arms one's going to be... I mean, it's quality stuff, so it's not there. When they bring it out and it's actually available, we might have them on to talk about it just because they're cool guys over there.
I'm trying to think now I got I got to put this one in there just because I did even though I heard it was kind of garbage but staccato came out with their HD.
And what is it? It's a 2011 that takes glock mags. This is Takado. Now, I would just probably buy one of the other two companies to make them. But it's there. I heard some of the ones that they were shooting at at their range day had some problems feeding and stuff like that.
I just thought of it. It's out there. It's $2,600 or something, which is $2,700 bucks. Yeah, which is. Well, there's 25, 27, and 23,000. Yeah, exactly. I laughed, dude, because again, it's the popular kid that's marketing telling you this. And people lined up because, oh, the 1911 trigger is so great.
in my tooth. There's double stacked nine millimeters, hammer fired all over it. Oh, yeah. CZ just got another CZ sport to this less money than this. You have the DWX over a CZ. Oh, yeah. Well, CZ TWX, that thing's a fantastic pistol.
They had a full size and a compact. I mean, there's just so many other double stacks and everybody's on this over. I'm not saying overpaying for what it is because it's fine. I mean, that's what the company charges. That's what it is. But there are a bunch of other companies that have double stack, have a fight that can be single act. So for a lot less money, you just need to learn to run the gun.
I mean, yeah, I get what you're saying. I mean, yes, you can make a 1911 trigger really, really nice, but they're not for everybody. But then you still have a grip say to you have to overcome almost every one of these. Yeah, it's like every single one of them. I don't know one that doesn't have one.
I don't see spending that kind of money for something that runs a Glock magazine. I can see, you know, because I just go get a Glock, right? You know, well, and the thing is, is there's, uh,
for this kind of money, aren't you? I'm like, will some combat area? Close to it. Oh, yeah. When you can get a platypus for 1600 bucks, that is a 2011 aluminum frame, uses Glock mags, and they've been out for a couple of years. There's the, I think, oh, I can't remember the name of it. There's another one. The fusion, fusion arms makes one, and then now staccato. And, you know, the fusion is like 1100 bucks, which,
And the platypus and the fusion, I'm like, okay, those make sense. You know, the prices are, I think where they should be. You know, you're paying for a staccato name. And I've shot plenty of staccatos from people I know. And yeah, they shoot nice, but I'm not paying the money for a staccato. That's just me. And yeah, I can operate a 92 X.
No, they suck. I mean, I know I do because I don't hate Beretta's. They just they just don't fit me. And it's like, they're not a bad gun. It's just everybody on the show knows they just don't fit my hand. So I'm never going to like them per se. Right. So when I'm talking about these double stack, I'm afraid, right?
For this crazy money for Chicago, I can go over and get a SIG P226 Legion or any one of the crazy variants they have. And I'm like, I have something with, oh, well, not as long as the pedigree, but a pretty damn impressive pedigree for a P226. Well, look at what some of the CZs cost too, like a CZ Shadow 2. Well, at least, I mean, least that's been tried and true, you know, like, that's been around since the 90s, you know, so.
Yeah. You know, so I mean, really, uh, it was funny watching. It was funny. Ever seen you walk by that booth, you're seeing just the crowds of people that would go there. I don't know. It's just weird. That's the weird part about this gun, this industry is it's, it's, I don't know. It's almost like a, it's a fad. Yeah. Yeah. I can. It is. It is 100%. Um,
But it didn't stop me for asking for one, right? Because I'm trying to put bucks and seats in my events. And if that's what people want, that's what I'll ask for. Me personally, I don't know how much money I would need. You know what I mean? To go, yeah, I'll buy a 2011 from Chicago. Because I could buy a lot of other things. And again, the grip safety throws me off. I carried in 1911 for two years. And the grip safety still problem.
Would I have better options? Yeah, I get that now since we're talking about triggers and clocks. Oh, wait, we were trigger tech has finally released their Glock trigger or it's coming and they had them there. I purposely went by to check this out. I like this trigger.
It's nice. It's kind of a flat face doesn't have a dingus they built in the safety inside. So I don't know how they did it, but the it's inside the trigger like up in as opposed to having the little dingus on the trigger itself felt good.
I mean, that's really all I can say. It comes with various springs. So it's the whole kit. So you can get different pull weights and a few other things. But yeah, it was, I think they're going to be, they're going to be expensive though, like 200 and some bucks. But anything that Trigger Tech makes is not cheap. So there's, there's that too.
I liked it. I'm hoping that I may get one hopeful just because, you know, anytime you can make a Glock trigger better or different. I like that. And, you know, like we said, I mean, you can get a good Glock trigger.
But, you know, it's definitely not a 1911 trigger, but pull weight, you can get them down to about the same. I mean, you can get a three and a half pound Glock trigger or two pounds. So I'm taking this. Well, it's literally coming out like it's out, but it's not available. I think they said end of Q1 or see.
It's not like it's just Christmas. I have to know where it is and it's in the same spot and it's a nice green break.
How much it is, I mean, you know, I mean, the weight of the trigger is less important to how clean that break is and how predictable that break is. Exactly. My Block 43 has like a factory freaking Glock trigger in it, right? And it's literally like six and a half pounds or something. But I haven't changed it out because
whatever is done with that trigger, it has, it's consistent. It's, you know where the break is, you know where the reset is. It's just, and I'm like, I mean, it's a 43. It's not like I'm shooting competition with the thing. And so I know where the trigger is. It's like it's consistent, like Tony said, and yeah, it's heavier, but I don't mind it because of that. What were you going to say, Derek? Have you tried the Glock performance triggers yet?
I don't know if I have a Glock performance trigger. For the price, they're 89 to 120, depending on where you get them. It's drop in. So I upgrade all my triggers to those just because I like the way it feels for the price, especially. So I'm looking to. And I have various other Glock triggers. But obviously, never underestimate the importance of practice training and dry firing.
Exactly. Yep. 100%. 100%. I'm going to go ahead, Tony. You got something else? Yeah, Mossberg, 940 pro SFX. Yeah. So I went over there just to make a video to bust my friend Chris's job. Oh, that's right. Because he won. So I was talking Sandy over there. I got a video of her, but
Um, I love the features on the shotgun vein and I talked about this I still remember a conversation had to be like eight nine years ago Talking about competition shotguns a lot of those features on all the whole defense shotgun and they put them on this sucker They have to cut out So when you feed the um
The shells into the tube is cut out. It doesn't go all the way to the end, so you can't get your finger caught in. It has oversized controls. It has R&W cut on the back for an optic. It has a peep sights on it. It has one, two, three, like six different spots that you can use a sling. What quick release. So it just has a lot of that stuff in almost everything you want, running in the shotgun, attack it clean.
And when I talk to people about living in a state that's not a free state, it's cool and all that you got and they are. But understand if you have to use it, you're not going to be facing the jury of your peers. You're going to be facing people that believe everything that gets hold on television. And if you roll in with a shotgun instead, people still see a shotgun as some funny. My granddad had one of those. You hunt squirrels with it. You're not a, you know,
Uh, they see it as less intimidating and less aggressive with all those features on it. Uh, you, you, you have a pretty good tool, uh, defensively and it was really smooth, but I wish we would have gotten the chance to go shoot it. But I had no idea where they had to work. I don't know if they want to shock and range at all. I have no idea. And that was so windy. I don't didn't see much on the shotgun range being used.
Uh, Derek, you got anything else you saw? Besides, you know, people. I saw a lot of people. Um, I checked out some ballistic backpacks that I liked at the built an armor. Okay.
3a that like they pull over which i thought was kind of a cool feature i've seen those in the past but it was kind of a new upstart company so i'm gonna i'm gonna check into them um you know there's there's seems like everything's pretty much the same i mean i saw some magnetic optics that mount like i'm like sometimes i feel it's like
Why is this an innovation? You have an optic that just uses maggots to stick to your slide and what's retaining it, what's keeping it so you take it off. There is a company, I have one of their flashlight mounts, but they're making optic mounts that are magnetic too, but they have
Like it's repeatable because of the way it's designed as opposed to some like the pistol ones where because they sit in like a taper and I mean they're way better than some of the others. And so I get what you're saying. I get what you're saying. And I was underwhelmed even though I missed a day shot and why did I miss a day shot? Because global ordinance fed rusty and I bad trip.
I'm like, I'm like, I mean, it did suck. It was, it really did suck. But you ask if we were going to talk about the shrimp. So, you know, we're going to talk about the shrimp. One second. So there was a couple of products by Wheeler that I really liked. It was there. Oh, they're on my list. I told you you're going to talk about them? No, no, they're on my list.
Okay, because you know, I want stuff from them and I can't get stuff from there. They're on that list new like
like torque screwdriver. It's like almost like an impact wrench, but it's, it's designed to not over torque. Anything you're going to be putting on and off the rifle or any type of fire, which I thought was cool. And they also had a, a laser board sider, which I liked really liked the way it mounted to the, the front of the firearm. And, and you could zero that laser out to 100 yards, which I thought was really, really cool as well. So I'm looking forward to those dropping probably in April or May.
Yeah, I did see, I didn't see it, but I did see they have a new like foot thrower. I saw a video of it on the internet or something. They were showing it in a shot show where you basically just love the skeet in it and you just push it down and it cocks it and throws the skeet. So like it looks, it looked pretty cool. In fact, maybe it was Rusty. He saw it and he was like, Oh, I need one of those. So no.
Yeah, I thought that, I thought that was, that was pretty cool too. But yeah, I was, I was underwhelmed by all the stuff of Shawshoe. I was like, it was, and I don't think it's because I'm jaded at Shawshoe. I think it's just, I don't think there was a bunch of new, fantastic stuff that is coming out. Go ahead, Tony.
I, uh, I saw that, uh, Mossberg, we were talking about before the Mossberg shotgun that takes magazines from shotgun to take magazines that has AR controls. Right. No, just no, just after we saw you're like, no, no, I mean, I'm over there, right? Because I was checking out the semi automatic Mossbergs. I'm like, oh, cool. And of course, the traditional Mossberg is very intuitive.
This thing with the AR grip and slide releases a weird place. I really didn't figure out how to, it wasn't intuitive how to release a slide. And I'm like, why? Outside of having the inline recoil. You know what I mean? Because it's set up like an AR. No. And I totally get, because I'm going around and there was nothing to
just grabbed me and went, yeah, it was like everybody's copy and everyone else. And it was really just everyone copy and everyone was double stack nine. There was no new really AR or anything. But I don't think there ever is. Yeah. Yeah. That's, that's kind of what I was thinking too. Now go ahead, Derek.
I did see Daniel defense. I didn't see it at the show, but they have a PCC out. I just saw something about today. That sound that look kind of interesting. Yeah, I think I saw something about that too. I mean, two notes still. It's a PCC is a nine millimeter. Exactly. That's kind of we're all black or five, five, six. Yeah, but it's just funny because I'm watching you're right in company making nine little PCCs.
companies are making a lot of clones, companies are making 20 electric phones, and figure out just two ways to make ARs. Like there was nothing that was like, oh my goodness, this is breakout. This is making me get really excited. This is hitting the market. And I don't like to think I'm jaded because this is what I'm about. You know, even as a kid, I was getting out shots when I still am. But when I take a step back and go, really, what was new?
And I told you guys this probably a couple of times because I kept saying it. If John Moses Browning would have walked in the shot show last week, he'd have flipped over tables and said, you people have done nothing since I died. There is nothing here. You figured out how to put my freaking Browning high power magazine into my 19 11. Or Glock mag into 1911.
Yeah, but I mean, he's just like, you figured out how to put a nine millimeter double stack mag into my 1911. That's all you've got. And then he would probably burn Ohio ordinance down to the ground because they're still making VARs. Yeah, no kidding. I went over there and checked this stuff out. And it was really cool. They make a VAR and then they make the HVAR or some stuff like that. It's a modernized version of the Friday and automatic rifle.
But again, it's used 30-yard six and is used in browning B.A.R. bags. No thanks. I get you there. I mean, that'll be cool and that might be a lottery win if somebody reminds me they make it.
Yeah, yeah, when you were the latter. Now, one of the actual innovations kind of innovations I saw, and I say kind of because you'll understand this, was there were two companies that brought out a one to four adjustable prism. Derek saw one of them because he went to the zero tech optics party with us.
uh but so zero tech optics is one and then apex optics is the other one and they were both about close to the same size but they are a prism and they are adjustable from one to four uh looks like both of them had bdc radicals and i thought
I don't know what they weighed but i thought it was kind of cool that now that we're doing now that everybody has a one x prism or three x prism. They kind of were like oh let's see if we can make an adjustable prism because it's i guess it's different than making a normal prism.
And so I thought that was really cool. And I think the zero tech one is going to be like 400 bucks and the apex one is like 700 bucks or something. So they're not going to be super expensive. Now, I say kind of new because if you're old, like Tony and I, you'll remember the l can specter.
which was not one, two, four. It was one or four. And it was a prison site. Now, of course, it was also big and huge and bulky and kind of a piece of crap, but that's just my opinion. So did you actually look through that one, Derek? Yeah, I checked. I checked him out. And another one that I liked was Gideon optics came up with a micro closed emitters. Yes, the RMSC footprint.
close demeanor. I saw that and that was that was super cool too.
Yeah, especially for the price point, too. I thought that was a great price point. Yeah, well, it was a 240 bucks or something. Yeah, something like that. I mean, it's Gideon. So, you know, they always are killing it. It seems like, uh, yeah. So I saw that too. And I was like, Oh, yeah. Uh huh. And of course they also, it's Gideon. So they had some prototypes there, of course. They have their, did you see their rifle optic prototype? Like red dot looks kind of like a,
Yeah, I didn't pick the larger one, like kind of like Hollison makes or something. I love you through it. I thought it was kind of cool because something like that is, you know, it's bigger. It's more tuned for a rifle as opposed to using one of the little mailbox ones on a rifle. So did you check out the Holison thermal?
I did not get over there. All of a lot of that stuff was slated for Thursday was the day I was going to cruise around and check out stuff. That didn't happen. I checked out something I did enjoy though. Diamondback has a new three-inch revolver. Self-stress revolver has DR.
Um, we shot that at the range day. Yeah. That trigger is smooth, man. That trigger is so smooth. I loaded up the 38 and at a 25 yard emphasis, I ran it six or six. Like there were no misses. It's nice and really good on it. And they make it a nine millimeter too. They make it nine millimeter. They had the shorter one. And I mess with that because the less of a grip, more concentration. But I mean, zero concentration, just basically fundamentals.
uh that came to me easy and I was able to ring that sucker uh with the 3ds because they had a full size grip and that really does make a difference because again I went 6 or 6 with a full size grip and then I went 2 for 6 with a snubby without a full size grip like immediately afterwards so
I mean, you can really tell. I like that. And then I want to go ahead and talk about this MC6. Yeah, yeah. All right. So I walked past Rock Island, Aubrey. I went to Rock Island, Aubrey, and I didn't see him there during the week. So Friday, I was making my way back to the interview with Clovertack and Ghost. And there was a lady just sitting there at a table, and they had this honking honking.
Gigantor thing revolver and the revolver look like it has six barrels attached a barrel attached to the end of each cylinder in the cylinder and Then it was in a housing you had an entire pick rail long top and that's called a MC6 multi-caliber revolver and each of those barrel screwed into the end of the cylinder could be a different caliber and
Now, the way they were saying it was really confusing. I'm like, why would I want a different caliber in each cylinder? And it's like, no, you can change all six of them out to one caliber. And we're talking, I think it's a 308, seven, six, two by 39, five, five, six, 300 black, nine mill, 45, they had like six or 10 different calibers. You can change this revolver out too.
I'm spinning off a rig of friggin barrels and a whole barrel rotation as I call it MC6 and it's over at Rock Island. They said they had the prototype and it just got through patenting like all the stuff last year. Yeah, that's all. That was some space countless stuff right there. Yeah, it looked pretty cool from the picture I saw of the you took. It looked pretty cool and I got a video of it, but it was like
I think it was like her first time doing a presentation because she said some weird stuff. And I gave her another chance and recorded it again. And then somebody was sitting around following like a savage. So they got in the background. It was really annoying. But who was that? No, somebody. We were talking about earlier today. It was that person. So anyway,
I thought that was very interesting. I'd love to see it. They had like nine millimeter inserts in it at the event. I tried to pull the trigger, but they had it zip tied. And so people wouldn't swing the gate open and bend it. But I think that was one of the more interesting ideas. And they didn't put that out until Friday. So I don't know if they were late showing up or what. Because they said, I think it's from Freya Arms in Wisconsin.
That's just making it for Rock Island. Okay. Yeah, I have no idea. But I thought the picture looked pretty cool. Now, it's time to talk about the elephant in the room for Rob.
And that is the Caltech PR 5.7. And we're pretty sure we came up with, we know what PR stands for. And it's not politically correct. It's pretty retarded. This is the Caltech 5.7. It has an internal 20 round magazine.
not external. You can't swap the magazines out. You can't do much. Some nice guy just put a link in the show notes for me. That was nice. You're welcome. And you load it with kind of like stripper clips, except they weren't really stripper clips. It's low bore axis. It's got a rotating locking barrel. And the lugs are on kind of the end of the barrel.
Now they say you can load 20 plus one. I proceeded to try to give myself a Caltech thumb kind of like grand thumb when you smash the stripper clip in there because to load that last round, supposedly you got to push down on the 20 that are in there and then load around and slide the slide forward enough that it doesn't pick up around. So you do that now.
So you have to partner your ghost load it then. Yeah. Yeah. And it's not like, you know, TSA loaded or whatever.
Now, now, you know, I shot it. I think Tony shot it. I think, I think Rusty shot it. And I didn't hate how it shot. It shot okay. I mean, for what it is. Now, of course, we'll explain if it jams, what do you have to do? You have to pull it apart.
How do you pull it apart? You push the trigger forward and then the whole slide assembly comes off. I just didn't think much of it because they were trying to say, Tony, I'll go here that it's for, you know, band states and it's like, no, it's still 20 rounds. You're looking at depending on.
Yeah, I mean, look at, well, Derek and I are in Oregon and measure 114 didn't care if it was a tube mag, a fixed mag, or it didn't matter. It was just. Yeah, that would have been illegal. Yeah, exactly, exactly. So we're like, no, you guys just made it because you wanted to. I didn't, I didn't care for it. I thought it was kind of stupid. That was my opinion. I don't know. Tony.
So I'm checking it out, right? Because I... Look, I have a pre-formed opinion before I showed up, but I wanted to try to gun out because I like firearms. Yeah, and like I said, it shot okay for me, but yeah. Yeah. It shot okay. I didn't like how the sights are with the straight lines or whatever the heck that was. I didn't like the sights, but whatever. Sugar pool was okay, not a lot of recoil, because it's a 5'7", obviously. It's a thin gun.
But because it's a 5-7, it's a long pistol grip. So you have that weird grip. The stippling is a typical tail, Caltech stippling on the side with that pineapple grenade pattern, which is horrific. This is not good at all. And I was looking at it. And I guess if you want to carry a 5-7 with that short of barrel, fine. But when I went over to T-Sauce and I checked out their T-Sauce 5-7, it's better to trigger.
most temporary design and a detachable magazine. Like, how do you top off a mag that you just shoot and tell it's empty? Because everybody, oh, in a self-defense accounting, yeah, but I also run guns and classes, bro. This is definitely not a class, Ken.
I'm like, I run guns in classes, you know, where I learn to increase my skill set. I also run guns in competition. Like, how do you load this up if you haven't shot every round out of it? What are you playing with? Again, I take it's a range gun, but when it comes time to run it like a real gun, no, you don't have that ability.
And, you know, I was thinking about it after, you know, we called it names and everything. And I actually thought of something where it might be somewhat useful. MSRP on it was like 400 bucks. So it's not like they're super expensive. But I was thinking that I was like, okay, what am I going to use this for? I'm like, okay, what if I want.
I just want to take it with me, you know, in case I see a squirrel or something that I want to pop in the head, you know, while I'm out wandering around in the woods. Now, granted, I would just have a normal 5.7 if I wanted 5.7, but I was trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. Yeah. You know, I was like, okay, granted, there's no easy way to load extra ammo in it and stuff like that, but
You know, I was like, well, I can at least see maybe a purpose very slim, but, you know, I could think of it. Otherwise, I was like,
Okay. And the loaders were not intuitive, at least when I tried to use one. I think the rotating barrel design, I thought, I liked that. And I think it's, if they just made the same pistol with a magazine, I would be way happier. It's just me. Yeah, I agree with you on that one. If they made the same pistol with a mag,
I wouldn't have really, uh, hang ups. Yeah. That's kind of how I felt. How do you want to class with this guy? You don't. I mean, that's my, that's my guess. You wouldn't. Yeah. Yeah. When I first heard about it, I thought it was a pretty interesting idea, but then again, I saw a few pictures of it, never saw how it worked or anything. But when I saw that stripper clip, it's like, wait, what, what? Uh huh.
For the magazine. They've got magazines out there. Yeah, I wouldn't take too much to do it with a magazine. I think there's other pistols I try girls with before that one. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Well, we're good. Richard has a 5-7. PSA. Don't they have a 5-7? Yeah, PSA has a 5-7. The FN. Richard has a 5-7. Yeah, FN has their 5-7. They have a lot of money. Yeah, and the T-7 has a 5-7. Yeah.
I have all these other options that are conventional as far as magazines being dropped, magazines being loaded, topped off. No. It's just a no. That's kind of how I think all of us felt. Now, I am going to give up on the Celtic. Do you guys have anything else you want to talk about or should we wrap up stuff?
Derek I I had a great show and it was it was a lot of fun hanging out with you guys and thank you for the opportunity It was it was great to kind of be able to
work together and do some fun things. And hopefully we'll do it again. But you know, I think I'm just hardest part now is just the follow ups. You know, it's like, you don't know how successful your show was until you start getting emails of confirmations of things coming in. You know, so, you know, my fingers are crossed, but I'm optimistic. I think the industry is going to, we're going to have a good year, I hope, from what I've heard and some of my fingers are crossed.
Yeah, that's kind of what I was hoping to. Yeah. Now, you know, I'm going to read this ad and then I'm carrying to come back to you. Why that's in there, I don't know. But yeah, excess sites for over 25 years, excess sites has helped you get on target faster, offering tritium sites in all different types of styles. Low light is no longer an obstacle. Most options come with a brightly colored photo luminescent ring around that tritium that colored ring makes them work great in daylight also.
Excess sights has perch near sights styles for everyone, big dots, ghost rings, standard notch and post, suppressor height, all offering trinity of options. Available for a plethora of firearm types, from shotguns to handguns, Excess sights has you covered for all your low-light siding needs.
Now, our excess sites product of the week is the new forearms for their lever guns. They are not on their website yet, but we saw them at Shot Show. They're making them for like the Henry and various others. So they're getting into the handguard market for lever guns. And if you use code GGR20, you'll get 20% off almost everything over at those excess sites.
We don't have any listener feedback, but I'm going to ask Derek where people can find him because he also does other stuff that's pretty important.

Yeah, they gave me a shopping list. Yeah, they gave me a shopping list. We went around and picked out a crap ton of stuff that they're going to send us, including doing a Timber Creek build with some of their newer colors that are just released. So I can't wait for that to show up.
We actually went around and was like, we're getting this, we're getting this and this color. So we're talking P365 frames, talking P320, AR, they had force of kits, like all that stuff is going to be coming to me and we're going to do them as a giveaway. But our diversity shoot, first one of the year, celebrating our fifth year.
