Good morning, everyone. 805. It is a mess out on our roadways. Many of our interstates have traffic problems on it. You guys are backed up in it. It's this rain that we are seeing that's falling from the sky. It's like, well, where'd that come from? I haven't seen that in a while. He's bad. Yep.
Here's the deal. It is going to be with us. The rain all day today, pretty much until a little later on this afternoon. Those rain chances will come down high today. 70 bright sunshine returns tomorrow high of 68 Thursday. Sunshine high only getting to about 59 and even cooler for the end of the week. Friday's high.
53. So once this rain moves out of here, we'll deal with it today. Tomorrow should be a whole lot better, but that doesn't really help you this morning if you're stuck on the interstate. Hey, Bloom and Blinds, Birmingham helping folks. I mean, you talk about hassle-free. This is one of the best ways to get some new draperies or curtains or blinds or motorized treatments up in your home that I've ever seen before. That showroom really shows up in your driveway. It is a cool-looking Bloom and Blinds van, and inside that van is everything necessary to make sure that you get up on your windows.
the treatments that you want. And what's really super cool is now, if you've got maybe a porch or a patty or a deck, they've got these motorized treatments to raise and lower blinds. You know, it's like a screened in thing that rolls up and rolls back down and you just hit the button to make it all happen. But doing the measurements and finding exactly what it is that you need, now you don't have to run all over town. You call Bloom and Blinds Birmingham, let them come to your home or to your business to take care of this. And they'll show you all of the options. And there's a lot.
All the different colors too, you're not stuck with just cream and white and brown. Oh no, there's tons of colors, tons of options. Give them a call today and get a free estimate. Let them come out to your home or business and get it done today. 205-649-5746 or go to bloominblindsburmingham.com.
All right, eight oh seven and Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski were telling you about this. So you don't have to watch it are talking today about the social media backlash that they had from going to meet with Donald Trump last Friday and then announcing yesterday. Oh, yeah, we went that with Donald Trump.
Uh, because they spent months telling you that Donald Trump is Hitler. It's the end of our democracy. If he gets elected, I'm not like, this is exactly what they said. They were saying these exact words that this guy's a Nazi and that his followers are fascists. And if you believe in him and you vote for him, you're a fascist, et cetera, et cetera, then he wants the popular vote. They look like idiots.
Obviously, they didn't have any bearing. Now, I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this because I said after 2016 that the media spent a lot of time attacking Trump for a very simple reason.
They were so furious that we didn't listen to them. That may have been the first election when the media was like, you need to vote for this person because they're the best. And the American people went, no, we can thank for ourselves. Yeah, we're going to go vote for this other guy. We don't like her. We know her. We've seen her. We know him. We've seen him. We're going to vote for him. And the media was like, we'll show you. And they started to tighten the screws. And it was all, oh, it's the beginning again for Donald Trump and the walls are closing in on Donald Trump and the nonsense that they did.
for years and years and years, including making up stories about him, editing stories to try to make him look bad. This happened countless times. You don't need to take my word for it. You can go back and you can find all kinds of references to this if you're looking in the right places. So this time, you have these guys who spent a lot of time telling us that he was Hitler and that we're fascists for following him, racists and misogynistic and so on and so forth. Then he wins and instead of going, well, let's double down on that and make it worse. They said,
Let's go meet with this guy. We need to be able to report on him. We're still not friends. We're not pals of his. We don't believe in him, but we need to go meet with him. We're going to report on the guy and maybe do an interview now and then and have him on the show. This seems like somebody that we should go. Is it disingenuous? Yeah, we knew they were lying. We knew they didn't believe what they were selling.
I think it goes, it says a lot about Donald Trump's character in this whole story, right? It says a lot about Donald Trump's character and it says a lot about these two characters on MSNBC. Sure. And I think it's vastly different. Donald Trump says, you know what, you and he's doing this with a number of people.
You've, you've really said some horrible things about me as terrible. So it, but at the same time, he says, you know what? I'm willing to put that behind me. Come on, come on and talk to me. Let's, let's try to figure this out. But at the same time, these two, I mean, where's their moral compass in all of this? Because to me, it says, for one minute, you were trying to convince the American people that Joe Biden was okay. Yeah. That there was nothing wrong with him. That failed because of everything that we saw in Kamala Harris is the next wonderful thing.
Oh, she's brilliant. While you're spilling that he's Hitler, that he's fascist, that he's a threat to democracy, and now you want to go meet with Donald Trump to try to mend ways, most people would say, you know what you can do? You two at MSNBC, you can stick it where the sun don't shine. That's what most people would do. Donald Trump said, you know what? Come on, let's talk about it. Let's see. And he changed the mind of Joe Rogan. If you think about Joe Rogan, Joe Rogan said flat out,
I wasn't sure about Donald Trump, and after I met with him and we talked for more than two hours, I have a different opinion of Donald Trump now. I believe that this man is sincere about making America great again, making America first, looking out for our people. And he totally changed Joe Rogan's view of him. And here's why I think that happens. Donald Trump grew up in the rough and tumble world of New York real estate, where you are doing battle with
other developers. You're doing battle with construction companies, you know. You're Donald Trump and you're Trump real estate and you're in there having to deal with people who are making pitches. You're having to deal with contract here all the time. He doesn't pay his contractors.
Donald Trump would have been sued 10 times as much as he was if he didn't really pay his contractors, okay? I mean, if you're going to be in business, especially at that level, there's going to be some lawsuits. You keep lawyers on retainer for a reason because there's going to be some lawsuits.
But a lot of times when Donald Trump said like, no, no, we've paid him enough. It's because the contractors themselves knew, yeah, we've been ripping them off. We've been overcharging it for this, that and the other thing. So when he goes, no, you want to take this to court? You want to argue over this fine? We'll go through the bills with the fine tooth comb versus what happened. And they would go, okay. And they'd go away. This happened all the time, by the way, with Donald Trump, not occasionally. And now you get, he doesn't pay his contractors. He's a terrible person.
No, it's amazing how many times contractors were on the wrong side of that and went away quietly after he said, we've given you enough money. But after you've been in those battles and you're dealing with these guys and you're fighting with these guys, well, we want this much
We're only going to give you that much. Well, we have to have this or we're going to go out of business. You're not going to go out of business. You're just trying to screw me. You're trying to, and this is business in New York. And eventually you reach an agreement and you know what you do? You shake hands and you work together to build a great building. This is what the man is used to. So he would go, of course, on the campaign trail. Little Marco. Little Marco. You're not having a good night tonight, huh? You little Marco.
Yes. But I'm here to tell you, you know, lion Ted Cruz, uh, and on down the line, he came up with all these nicknames for all of his competitors. At one point, he compared Ben Carson to a pedophile and that he was a pathological liar and he couldn't help himself after he gets elected. What happens? And I want you to be my, uh, uh, head secretary. Right. Now little Marco, can you be secretary of state?
These guys can't wait. He and Lindsey Graham were better enemies. Lindsey Graham will go fight and die for this man now. Because, you know, he looks at it. That was just the campaign. Don't worry about it. That's all in the past. Now, you're a fantastic guy. Everybody's talking about how great you are. And that's how he does business. So it's not a shock to him when he says, you just did what you had to do to get Kamala elected. And it didn't work for you. I understand sometimes these things don't work out. It happens. Why don't you come down tomorrow, Laga?
We'll hang out. We'll have some more play a little. And hopefully he has even further vision that this isn't just about him. It's about, once again, bringing in MSNBC and these two people and looking at four years from now, that if he's able to mend bridges with people like that on MSNBC, even though it's, to some it's disgusting, that two weeks, it's not even been two weeks since the election. And here they come crawling to Donald Trump.
Either way, Donald Trump sees a bigger picture and the bigger picture is, hey, if I can pull them on the side, we start working together. We start talking about how great America is again and how we rebuild it after this administration. And you look at four years from now, this might be all a part of Donald Trump's plan. They start reporting on the achievements.
rather than, and we know this is going to happen, when you start talking about deportations on a large scale, I'm not going to say mass deportation, that sounds like you're literally rounding people up and throwing them into the backs of trucks and that's not what's going to happen here. But when you start talking about deportations on a large scale, you know the media is going to pick one, this is going to be, oh,
that one family or the one guy and his wife and two kids a little whore hey only wants a chance to grow up and be a happier boy in the america but now his parents are being deported and he has no choice but to leave and they're going to do the sob story forgetting of course that there are a hundred and fifty thousand illegal immigrants who committed crimes who are being deported on the same day ignoring all of that and focusing on poor little hooray whose dad by the way was one of the guys who committed the crimes you know
So he's, I think he's trying to kind of mitigate that and, and playing to the media and saying, look, the media doesn't have to be the enemy of the people.
I mean, we can keep them from being the enemy of the people. Maybe we work together and see if we can achieve some good things. We'll see. Way to wellness, speaking of achieving good things as we approach the Christmas season, taking a few pounds off might be on your schedule and way to wellness. Great way to do that. Easy to follow, easy on the budget, puts you into a bunch of clothing that you probably have had in your closet that you can't wear and haven't been able to wear.
for quite some time. Think about those Christmas clothes that you'd like to put on. Maybe you couldn't wear last year. A couple of two, three years ago, you're like, I looked good in that. I really would like to put that on again. Way to wellness can get you to that point. 9942393, aplanforme.com, aplanforme.com, possibly the place that you should go to make that happen. I strongly recommend easy to follow, easy on the budget, physician-supervised weight loss. That really works.
And my. Tell me more. And my. Hello. Hello.
sugar hill gang. It's 821, talking at 9.5, talking at 9.5.com with Dixon and Vining. Still one of my guilty pleasures is to occasionally go to YouTube and find this happened. I believe it was back when it was late night with Jimmy Fallon, right, when he took over that show.
And they would take Brian Williams stuff from his newscast, back when Brian Williams was the head anchor, lead anchor over NBC, and they would cut it up. And it was Brian Williams doing this song, but they had to edit all the different stuff together to make it happen. You have to see it to appreciate it. The editing is, as a person who's done a lot of editing in his life, like audio editing in my case, but this is video editing.
I have nothing but appreciation for the people who put that together. Very, very difficult to do and still funny as hell to me. Talented guys. Very talented guys and Brian is...
brian william's later came on the show and he's like i honestly don't remember ever using the word hippity on the air but some of you know that they did it somebody found it and then there went figured it out uh-huh hey i'm richard i just got to say this i'm looking at our our map are out now there's like there's i'm counting five accidents on four fifty nine between mccala and and the hoover met set aside or
I mean, there's five different than 65 is a mess you got to. I mean, really, if you can just hang tight at the house a little longer, might be the best thing. And some of you are like, well, thanks, Val. I'm already in the car and stuck in this. Maria drops us this line as if the rain isn't enough. There is a wide load on 280 taking up a lane. Why can't that happen? It off
There's nothing more frustrating than a peak drive times. Seven in the morning or five in the afternoon and you got a double wide taken up two lanes. There should be a law against that. No, it ain't right. It ain't right. It ain't fitting. It ain't fitting.
All right, those of you really right now in your automobile been thinking about selling that vehicle, that car, that truck that you have, do not do it yourself. Here's the best way, the hassle-free way, a smart way, a safe way to do it, and that's through Birmingham Broker. That's all they do is sell used vehicles, and they love to sell your car. They sold mine.
Craig and Keith met with them. It didn't take maybe 10 minutes. They let their mechanic guy take a look at the vehicle and then jumped on the computer and we looked at a few things and they said, yeah, we can sell this no problem. And in five days, my car was sold. I had a check in hand and went on and bought my next vehicle with that cash in hand. You talk about a great process. I love this. I will not sell my car any other way. I will not trade it ever again. You are going to lose money if you trade that vehicle. Don't do it. That's your money.
get in touch with Birmingham Broker today. Behambroker dot com. Behambroker dot com. That is where you go or stop in and see him today. Twenty two twenty four fourth avenues. And now it's Dixon and Vining's top three things you need to know today.
But there's so much to get to Donald Trump. Here's one of them announced yesterday that he plans to use military assets if he needs to to help with his deportation or efforts once he gets sworn into office. Trump is likely going to declare a national emergency and begin removing some of the illegal aliens that are here in the U.S. The top priority, this was it, was to do this and we'll see he'll start out with those that have criminal records.
There are a lot. There are thousands and thousands of people now in our country that do have criminal records that have committed crimes. There's a court case right now, like in Riley, that we've been watching. She died under the hands of somebody that was here illegally.
Allegedly. I have to say that because he hasn't been found guilty yet. We could say that after the guilty verdict. Right now we have to say allegedly. Okay, you say allegedly. Allegedly. You say allegedly. I got it in there. Thank you. Anyways, so we'll see how this goes, but he's very serious. He's got Tom Holman, who is the borders are Chris Christie gnome, who's head of the Department of Homeland Security. And together they're going to get this cleaned up. And I think
This was one of the top three, maybe top two, maybe even the top, the number one. I think with the economy, it was a close tie of the things that needed to happen and why Donald Trump really won that election because they were fed up with Kamala Harris not doing her job at the Southern border. And yes, she was the Southern borders are, didn't do a darn thing. If anything, they waved the white flag and said, come on, come all. And they did. And they have made a mess. Border being closed is a huge deal. That's something I think the left never got throughout all of this.
And even though they were like, look, it's close now. I was like, yeah, too little too late. You had the chance to do it all along. You chose not to. We're going to like this guy. And they can't figure that out. And here's Donald Trump, you know, got the cabinet. Pretty most of it put together now. What he wants.
And secondly, he's already got the game plan from from day one, January 20th. He is going to hit the ground running so fast that our heads will probably spin at the things that he will accomplish in the first week. He's I look forward to it. I can't wait either. Still waiting by the way on a treasury secretary. Yeah. Yeah, we are waiting on that.
uh... some news for the city of Birmingham this is pretty big news the uh... Birmingham race course has uh... some new owners it is a win creek hospitality and if you've ever traveled down sixty five toward the beach and passed by win creek there may be some of you've gone in there uh... this purchase was made for an undisclosed amount from the McGregor family and is supposed to be finalized the early part of next year the porch band creek indians is based in that morning win creek said they plan to completely transform that track it does need some help
into a premier entertainment destination. And I know a lot of people are excited about this because that is, that's an enormous piece of property, lots of parking. And again, you have what was the horse track and then it was a dog track and all these other things and all the property beyond that, it will be really interesting to see what they do with this. If they decide to do away with a dog track, that would be a good place to put a hotel. Yeah, right. Right. Attached to that building. And the only other difference that I understand is that you'll be able to gamble with beads and trinkets.
beads and drink it. Yes, you'll be able to do that. Beads and trinkets. Really? I didn't hear this. That's, you know, it's turquoise and beads and trinkets. Turquoise. You could trade a blanket. Oh, a blanket. Yeah, these things are all, this is, I could be making this up. I think you're totally making all of it up. Really? I don't hear about beads and trinkets. Oh, you're not paying attention. I guess not. I'm right on the news all every day. Why don't you show me where you saw that? I'll see if I can find it again. I'm sure it's online somewhere. I need to get off the news. Let it breathe.
Oh my goodness. All right, and finally this, there's been some discussion about it, and I just, you know, where you all are on it. Alabama representative Wendellah Gavann wants an alert system that is dedicated to missing black youth. Now, we all know about the Amber Alert, right? That was started back in 1996, and any child abducted and said to be in danger under the age of 18 gets this Amber Alert.
Govan wants an epine alert and the bill that she's putting forth down a Montgomery is HB 19. This system is for missing black youth between the ages of 12 and 25.
Well, we'll see where HB 19 goes. I think the amber alert covers those under the age of 18. It's a system that has worked quite well. And again, this is not just missing. This is abducted. These are kids that are abducted and they're fearful that they're in danger. So if you start the ebony alert, do we need to come up with some other alerts?
And now we've got, you know, 10, 10 different alerts instead of one that kind of blankets the whole thing. LGBTQ plus plus person goes missing. You got a rainbow alert. You got a rainbow alert. Maybe. Yeah, it might be. Could come up with a little something for everybody. We all deserve it. Steve, transgender alert. Steve and I would get the skin. They get their own. Just be like the flesh colored skin head. Oh, bald guy missing. It'll like no one cares.

All righty, I'll get Roger Hodgson on the phone immediately. All I know is people on the roadways are like, I wish it wasn't raining. And yet for weeks leading up to this, it was like, I wish it would rain down. Hey, that'd be a good song.
eight thirty seven with dixon dividing thanks for tuning in uh... here on top of the nine five and talk about dot com and i tell you what the perfect name for a business new beginnings mortgage solutions and we really are at a new beginning chris molesky on the phone with me a part of new beginnings mortgage solutions
and a great group of people that are put together to go to work for you when it comes to your mortgage or maybe getting out of debt. Man, I can't think of a better time than right now. Chris Molesky, you guys are dealing with folks day in and day out with this situation where, you know, over the last year or two, they've gotten into a little trouble because of the economy and they've maybe maxed out their credit cards, but you've got a great solution. We sure do. And I'm so glad you mentioned that.
You know, you guys being in radio, and of course, I was in radio for a long time. You know how important communication is. And just being able to talk to each other, all of a sudden you start finding out things when we're able to communicate. And last week after we shared a couple of the solutions that we had for some of your listeners that were kind of life-changing, we had even more of your listeners reach out. And just with the conversation of them kind of explaining their situation, you may have to go into too much detail of just, here's kind of what's going on.
We've had two solutions that they didn't even think about that has come up and they're very excited because all of a sudden it opened up other doors to.
Okay, now I can do this. I don't have to put this off. I can take care of this now. And it rearranges everything where stress is gone. There's excitement. So money becomes more of something to be excited about as a something to be stressed out about. And that's exciting for me. That's the benefit for me on my end is being able to help people see life changing, life change happen.
Yeah, and those of you with mortgages, there is money more than likely in your mortgage. And that's why Chris and his crew at New Beginnings come into work and come into play for you because they can show you how to get rid of some of that debt through your mortgage. So give out the phone number and the website where people can reach out to you this morning, Chris, if they find themselves in that situation.
would love to talk in this rainy day call us two o five ninety nine seven one seven one or simply go to say with ninety nine five dot com thank you chris will talk with you again tomorrow new beginnings mortgage solutions already it is a eight thirty nine and good news the iron bowl of this year is happening of course these saturday after thanksgiving and it is a two thirty kickoff
I like the 230 kickoff. I don't like it when they do it at like five o'clock. I don't like it when they do it at noon. I don't like it when it's a night game. I don't like any of that stuff. I do not like Am I Sam? That's exactly right. I like it. Wherever it be, whether it be a Jordan hair or whether it's Brian Denny or wherever they want to play this game, I don't care. 230 in the afternoon is the right time for this thing.
uh... you know game day should always be there in my opinion is the greatest rivalry in college football for a very simple reason we live in the same state and we have to deal with each other day in and day out for the next three hundred and sixty five days in sixty four days until the next one actually
Yeah, I like that time too, especially this time of the year as we start to get into, you know, colder temperatures, the middle of the day that the temperature feels good if you're in that stadium. And and 230 kickoff is just just perfect. So yeah, looking forward to the iron bowl this year. Once again, we've never know where this thing is going to go. We can make predictions all day long. And you just don't know with these two teams, no matter how good no matter where they are right now in rankings, you can throw them out.
My prediction is that Auburn will be disappointing because they have been for so many games. I'm not making any predictions. I've learned my lessons in years. You know, look, there are times when Auburn is able to rise to the occasion. We certainly saw that last year and it came very close. I mean, it was a fourth down.
uh... fourth quarter pass in the back of the end zone that actually won this thing you know in jail in millerow was spot on incredible play by alabama you gotta give him props and you get all the props for even staying in it to the degree that they were after the rather foul season that they had but you know i i'm always on record i root for both teams
And people, yeah, you know, you can't really do that. I can, because I didn't go to either one of these schools, okay? So I can say, I want everyone to do well. I want Troy to do well. I want UAB to do well. I want Samford to do well. I want UNA to do well, okay? And I want Alabama to do well, and I want Auburn to do well. Well, Hitti, you root for it in the Ironbow. I always root for Auburn, because they're the underdog. They have not won as much as Alabama, and I'm always gonna root for the underdog. This year, rooting for Alabama.
rooting for Alabama for the simple reason that they have a very good shot in the playoffs. They're obviously hitting their stride. Molly was here yesterday and told us about some of the stats of the past three games. How they've beaten their opponents like a drum. The percentages are really, really looking good.
and I want these guys to do incredible this week and I want them to beat Auburn next week because losing to Auburn would would queer the deal to a degree that is unbelievable. Auburn gains nothing by winning this game except of course the bragging rights of ha ha. We had a two and everything else season up until we beat you in the iron ball. Okay, good. That's wonderful.
But, you know, a third loss for Alabama would knock them right out of the running. Yeah, that would be the end of it. That's why they have to win everything going forward. Every single thing in order to have an opportunity, you know, get into the playoffs and then that's going to be tough as well.
I want him to do well. I want to see this team succeed. And I want to see Auburn succeed as well. But, you know, look, let's face it, that ship has sailed this year. That ship sailed the minute you lost to. I don't know the first, you know, who was it? The very first team that they really got waxed by.
And you're just like, oh, no, that way. And when, you know, you had Mizzou come back and beat you. You were up and they beat you in the fine, it's like you're finding ways to lose at this point. And I just, I just shake my head and go, look, I want you guys to be better.
But you're going to have to wait till next year because this is not, this is not your year. 10, 10 day forecast. This, this can change, right? Obviously 60 degrees will be the high on iron bowl day, partly cloudy, only about a 20% chance of rain, but the low is 45. So
It will be on the cool side, but if it stays, if the forecast stays as it is, might not be a bad day for football. You will be enjoying turkey sandwiches. I will be enjoying leftover pizza. I'll probably be putting up some Christmas on that day. Oh, I guarantee I'll be putting up Christmas on that day. Before the game, and maybe a little after the game. I'll be doing it during the game. The game will be on, and I'll be watching it while I am putting decorations on the tree.
I have to have everything done by Sunday. That's my rule. It's got to be done by the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. And then I can just sit back, relax, and enjoy it. You know, my two bowls of Christmas candy sitting there ready to be glommed on to it. That your grandchild is eating all day. Oh, no, I'll be the one putting away on you.
This is interesting too. It was looking at the highs for, you know, around Thanksgiving, Tuesday, Wednesday, before Thanksgiving, and the 70s. And Thanksgiving Day, the high is 58. Okay. So we'll drop with some rain coming in. Well, Chris, a little rain. Yeah. Okay. A little rain ahead of Thanksgiving. I can live with that if that's what we have to do. I like it cool on Thanksgiving. I do too. I don't want it 75 degrees. It feels weird. I'm telling you to me, and I'm not a big fan of cold weather, as you know,
I would like it to be cold up to Christmas and then right on through New Year, if possible, if we can get it to be chilly and then on January 2nd or 3rd, I want to shoot back up to 78 and stay there. Don't make us go through January, February March with a cold.
Biggest mistake I ever made in my life was going to say, Lucia, and finding out what it's like to have a temperature that hovers between 78 and 81 every day of the year. Yes, every, that's Miami pretty much. And then it rains for like 10 minutes. And then it's gone. And I'm just like that. That was the greatest week. Weather wise, everything about it was perfect.
You know, I wore a swimsuit everywhere, every day, except when we went out to dinner at like a nice place. I actually had to put pants on. I brought three swimsuits with me. I wore those things out, man. It was fantastic. That's why so many people will take a trip somewhere warm in January, February or even early March.
Absolutely. I mean, you're like, oh, I'm mad. I'm mad at my snow clothes. When I owned a beach house, having that fabulous snowbird group that would come down and you could charge a monthly rate and they were solid. They were good people because they wanted to come back then. So January, February, March, you'd have one group of people in there the whole time taking good care. They thought of it as their winter home. And I'm like, great, treat it like your winter home. I love you guys.
It is 846 with Dixon and Vining. And, uh, whoa, uh, our friend Valerie Vining has got a split. She's got to go, man. She's taken off. She's running away. I got a meeting. I got a meeting. People forget.
She's the boss. Sometimes that happens. Not only is she a delight to work with, she also has complete and total control over me. No, that's not true. She makes me say that twice a show, every show. I have to say it, otherwise I'm fired. Actually paying to say it. You're Richard, here's another 20, thanks. Good my contract.
uh... but she also was the boss and so she has to run off and do like a meeting things here so you're stuck with me and steve for the rest of the show uh... how about pro-lift garage uh... adores valerie vining use them recently and found them to be delightful thank you nicholas he was awesome and thorough
And if you get Nicholas rumor, he has five kids and he's trying to buy a house at Mountain Brook. So tip him. Well, in Mount Brook. I think so. They're doing a 21 point garage door inspection right now. You never heard of a garage door inspection. You heard about, Oh, we're going to inspect your HVAC unit. We're going to inspect this. We're going to inspect your plumbing. We'll take a look at your electricity. How about actually looking at the garage door? A lot of moving parts on that garage door. You don't think about it. You ever really look at it and go, and there's some dents in there. I never noticed before. Yeah.
having pros on your side pro lift garage door to come in and do the $49 21 point inspection lube it up tune it up give you the inspection report.
tell you troublesome things to look for. This is the recipe for a successful garage door experience. That is ProLift garage doors, 286-9727. Put that phone number in your phone to keep next time you have a problem. 286-9727, find them online, proliftdoors.com. 852, talk then and then five, talk then and then five.com, Dixon and Vining, hanging out with you, Valerie Vining, off.
doing boss things, you know? Did you know that she was gonna do this to us, Steve? Did you know that she was gonna start leaving us abandoning us for meetings and stuff when she first started this show? Of course, I didn't even know what the trivia question was for the day for the Rod Stewart ticket, so I was totally out of the loop. You know, I didn't know it until it came out of my mouth. That's how it works. I occasionally completely forget that, oh yeah, we have to give away these tickets that I see it on the sheet that I put together
And then I'm like, what am I going to use for a trivia question? Thank God we...
Just right off the top of the head there. Nicely done. Not that there's anything else up there. So that's not a problem. Oh, no, a lot of things floating around there. It's trying to organize. I feel like tomorrow Valerie will probably have something brilliant. She usually comes in with something like once or twice a week, she'll be like, I got the question. I'll be like, it's all yours. Have at it, baby. I want you to have it. And then of course, Friday, we don't have tickets because that pair mysteriously disappeared into my pocket.
All right, I can't have them. I can't have the tickets. I don't, you know, I hope these are good tickets. I do. We haven't, the Coca-Cola amphitheater is not even built yet, right? No. So we have no earthly idea what it looks like or what's a good seat or what's a bad seat. Yeah, I mean, we've seen artists renditions, but that's it. Yeah.
Um, until you've actually been in a place like this, like, you know, I said, Tuscaloosa ambideater, you know, on paper, it looked great. Then I get there and I'm like, it's not just great. It's outstanding. There's not a bad seat in the entire place. I've sat all over that place.
Every seat in that place is great. It's small enough that you are still getting a great show no matter where in that place you are big enough that it seats, you know, a good, a good number of people at 6,500. Yeah. Like that. And so I'm hoping that this is the deal with the Coca-Cola, Anthony, but like, you know, you and I both have friends in radio. And there was a time when a friend of mine back in 2014 said, um,
I got a pair of tickets to go see Van Hillen. I don't really want to see him. Would you like to go? And I was like, hell yes, I would. Took our friend Catherine. She and I went to see them and picked up the tickets from my friend who was doing a live broadcast at the event. If I remember correctly, this would have been Kenny Wayne Shepard opening one form. I don't know because I missed the opening act.
Okay. That's the same concert. I was at it. It was the one where David Lee Roth couldn't really sing. Well, yeah. It was their last show here is what it was. Then you were there too. Yeah, 2014. I was shocked to find out that those seats socked.
Like they were up in what used to be the lawn section. Oh, yeah. Now, yeah, I'll be honest. It was, you know, it was okay. It was, they, you know, I get to see the stage. It was fine. I was looking down. The night was beautiful. The weather was perfect. I just had to remember that when it was eight o'clock on stage, it was nine o'clock in my seats. That's how far away from the stage I was, you know?
But it's, you don't know. So I'm kind of like, okay, well, I hope we're giving away good tickets to this thing. I hope we're giving away, we used to give away like fifth row, fourth row, second row, right? Remember that? We used to like five, four, three, two, one tickets. We don't even get to do that. No, we don't get to do that. At least not that they tell us. Yeah. The thing about buying tickets and these go on sale on Friday is that you may pay for them, but you know where you're sitting.
You know, so I can go and say, well, I don't want to pay that much money to sit in that section, but I'll pay this much money to sit in this section over here. I'm going to see Chicago, not the group, but the musical this coming Friday. I bought tickets and I bought them late. I bought them late in the game. I wasn't really sure I was going to go. I had to kind of rearrange some stuff to make sure that it was free to go. And when I finally got there, I was like, well, there were only a couple of places where there were two together.
And I was like, all right, I'll take these. They're a little pricey, but they're absolutely worth it. They're in a relatively decent place. Because you're only going the one time, you know? It's not like, well, next time this Broadway musical comes to town, I'll get better seats. Or the next time Rod Stewart comes to town, I'll get better seats. I had great tickets to heart. Great tickets to heart. And then they canceled. And then they canceled on me.
cuz and wilson and cancer why did everything happen to me and honestly so unfair
Uh, she got over it, by the way. She got better. Yeah. Word is that they're planning on hitting the road sometime in 2025. Yeah. And they actually have all of the rescheduled concert dates, except Birmingham. Of course. They were like, yeah, screw them. We're not going. I'm not going to do that. It's a shame. I've never seen heart. I really wanted to see them. Maybe I'll make up for it by going to see Rod Stewart. There you go. How about that? I bet I will have no shortage of lady friends who contact me and go, Hey,
You're going to say, how about maybe you take me along? Then there'll be a bidding war. It'll get ugly. It's got to admit. This is a nice poll for a facility that hasn't even been finished yet. Oh, yeah. This is a nice double-header poll. This ain't Teddy Swims, OK? I got nothing against Teddy Swims. I have no idea what he does or who he's. I thought when I heard Teddy Swims, I thought he was like a rapper, an R&B guy. He's a country dude.
i did not have a word for that yeah but but yeah ron Stewart that's that's uh... that's a premiere that is a world-class act right there very much looking forward to it some of the texts that we have received of us far thanks to everybody for uh... chiming in uh... let's see here it should i drove through the area by the amphitheater and saw no parking being instructed where are we going to park it's a little place called uber
Yeah, from what we understand, they're going to take the old parking deck from Caraway Methodist Medical Center and they're going to refurbish that and make it the parking deck for the amphitheater. But I don't know what the progress is on that.
Don't know either. I do know that if you get a big enough parking deck, you have to take a number to get in line to wait to get out of that place. Absolutely. People show up at different times. They stagger the arrival. Some people like to get there early. Some people want to get there later, whatever. But everybody leaves at the same time when the show is over. And I've had experience with this going to Universal City Walk when I was in Orlando.
They had three or four exits to that place and it still was just, you just understood we're going to be sitting here for a long time before we get on the interstate and you get used to it. That's just the way it is. I would prefer not. Roger says Teddy swims is awesome. If you say so.
there's no work being done on the parking deck says mark okay i'll take your work for them again like i said that i only heard that that was what they were supposed to do i walk it by their i have no idea walk it be a man park somewhere else and walk it make sure you're packing uh... alabama men's clinic five nine eight seven thousand if you're not packing they can help out with that
