Good morning Birmingham. It is 806 with Dixit and Vining on Talk, 995 and Talk, 995.com. Birmingham's Real Talk. I'm trying to use our catchphrase more often. Birmingham's Real Talk. Is that our motto or our slogan? It's one of those two things, right? I'm not sure exactly what you call that. Some words somebody threw in there.
Make it up Richard, whatever you want it to be. You make it our slug line. Our slug line, our motto. Thanks very much for tuning in. We got a high of 76 today, tomorrow, rain and 69. Then the temp cools off precipitously 66 degrees on Wednesday, 56 on Thursday. We'll worry about what comes after that. After that, how about that?
No point in getting all worked up about stuff that hasn't even happened yet, right? But the 100% certainty of rain is absolutely happening tomorrow. It's on the way. So be prepared for it. Johnson's over a picture says, here's a picture of my Christmas tree. That's right. It's still in the shed because it's still November. Johnson, yeah. Maybe wait till.
It's always right. The reason I do it Thanksgiving is because you've got the long weekend. That's what I used to do it too. I used to put it up the day after Thanksgiving. It gives you a couple extra days. Now, of course, I've got 23 trees, so if I don't start sometime in June, it doesn't happen. In June? Yeah, I get to start in June.
About two days after I finished taking them down, I start putting them up again. That's how it works. And I know a lot of people like to get Christmas up before Thanksgiving because they may have out of town family or friends coming in and they want the house to look festive. I get that too. Very festive.
got to look fast. Plus, you know, with the where Thanksgiving is falling this year, it's late. And it's late again next year. Yeah, it's like, well, if I'm going to put up decorations, I might as well, you know, get everything I can out of them. I was surprised I was looking back over some of the memories on Facebook. And a couple of years ago, it was like Thanksgiving was like the 18th. Like, what? Yeah, this year is the 28th. You're like, that's 10 whole days later. Like, what?
OK, Thanksgiving is one of those things that moves, kind of like Easter. Easter could be in late March. It could be in late April. It could be anywhere in between. You never can tell. Sometimes it pops up Fourth of July. You're like, it's Easter, too. When did this happen? So, yeah, Thanksgiving is one of those moveable feasts. And you're going to have to get used to the idea this year. Maybe I will get maybe this week and I will get Christmas out. If you're like a little more time, me and you were unable to think beyond election day.
And now you're doing like, I can't think beyond Thanksgiving. You're going to be behind the eight ball when it comes time because think about this. Thanksgiving is on the 28th, Friday is the 29th, Saturday is the 30th. Yeah, now you're into December. It's December all of a sudden. Yeah.
I mean, you're going to go straight from Thanksgiving to December 1. Boom. And you're like, how did we get to the point where it's only three weeks to Christmas? Well, you weren't paying attention. That's how. We're trying to help y'all out. Trying to help ourselves out. Well, I mean, look. Oh, my gosh. Let me put my brain around this. I made a batch of cookies last night. A batch. I've got four batches of fudge done. I have to make more cookies. I have to make some standard roasted pecans. Everybody gets some of those, right?
And then I also have to put up 23 trees. So it's going to be a busy time. If a day goes by that I don't get something Christmas-y done, I'm screwed. And here's the other thing. We've got the Christmas extravaganza coming up on the 11th. That is happening on the 11th. And I have nothing, just so you know. I have nothing. Right now my plan is to go on on stage and stand there for 12 minutes.
and just look at it. 12 minutes, really. Just 12 minutes. Well, everybody's got their own responsibility of stuff that they have to take on. Well, you know, I'm ready to go. You are? Yes, I'm bringing Van Burchfield to the stage. Oh, that's your part. Yes. No, that's just the lead in. Oh, no, that's my part. Oh, yeah, no, that's totally my part. Me and Van, I'm going to introduce Van. I'm going to do all the right. I'm going to do all the stage announcements. That's your whole thing? That's it. That's my gig.
One of your stage announcements is going to be, and here's Richard standing still for 12 minutes. No, we're not. All right. So here's the deal while we're talking about this. It's happening in the Star Dome Comedy Club. We love all of you to come. Love you. There is. It is wide open to everybody. You just bring yourself, get dressed, put your ugly Christmas sweater on, whatever you want to wear, and bring one new unwrapped toy per person. When you come to the door, that will go to Alabama Veterans Operation Christmas Self. Yeah.
And we did, we've been associated with them for a number of years now. So we're very excited to team up with them again, help veteran families that are in need and the kids and toys and things like that. So make sure you do it. Thank you sponsors, Mandu, Crocker Moving Services and Vapor Forward, a part of this year's Christmas extravaganza.
Yeah, Operation Christmas Self usually brings our own truck, which is nice. It's a good size truck. And we pack that sucker up with all the toys that you guys bring. And we appreciate that. But if we run a little, if we run a little over, maybe crocker moving services could bring one of their vans over. So there we go with a little help fill that sucker up. Always a good time. Make sure you're there for it. The big Christmas extravaganza or
as John Bird put on our piece of artwork, Christmas spectacular. Yeah, call it what you like. They're the same. We don't care. It doesn't matter. We're using synonyms. These were big words. Yeah. Right. The Christmas dealio. That's what I'm calling it from now on. Yeah. The source is working well for you. All bets are off. It's trying to think the other day of another word for the source. Good luck with that. Come up with one. Did you look up
Synonym dictionary. That's all I got. Synonym. Synonym dictionary. Synonym. Like synonym rules. Synonym rules. Just like grammar used to make. It's 8.12. Let's do this. Shall we? And now it's Dixon and Vining's top three things you need to know today.
Oh my gosh, where to begin? Donald Trump arrived at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden. The crowd went nuts! This, just a few weeks after he was last there, and of course, not quite two weeks after his historic victory winning
the presidency, the Senate, and the House, sweeping every swing state. He was there with Dana White, Elon Musk, Speaker Mike Johnson, Vivek Ramaswami, Kid Rock, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, and his sons, Donald Jr., and Eric. He had his own entourage, and when he won the belt,
The champion did the Trump dance, which has become the rage. Have you noticed this? Everybody's doing the Trump dance. This is what it's all about. The Trump dance is our own Molly Robinson does a pretty good Trump dance. So many of these come up with a little Trump doll that does the dance. Oh, sure. You know, those would sell like wildfire for Christmas. Guarantee, you put them in like a Santa hat and have them doing it. There you go. That same day, because it's pretty similar to the, you know, the Santa dance. Isn't that a little bit like the Santa thing? Yeah, sure. How do you think about it?
Let's see, what else we got going on in the news that you need to know about McDonald's investing $100 million trying to bring customers back after their E. coli outbreak. Yeah, I guess that could chase people away. If I ate there a lot, I might look at it and go, I don't really want to do that now. Take a little break until it gets figured out.
But yeah, they they have figured out it was in fact the slivered onions because the quarter pounder is the only one that uses raw onions all the rest of them are cooked. If you cook the onions, that would have taken care of the E. coli. But no illnesses reported between September 12th and October 21st, 104 people got sick. 34 were hospitalized. One person
died, four people developed a potentially life-threatening kidney disease complication. So what are they doing with their million dollars? They're actually putting it in random happy meals. They're just like, you go through and get a happy meal and there's just cash in there. Cash. I'm just making that up. None of that is true. You know, the other thing too, right now, just to add on to that, the CDC, there's a warning now for E. coli.
in organic carrots. No, when did all this stuff get into our vegetables? I'm curious, but RFK Jr is going to fix it. Please do. He's the guy who's going to come to me and go, we're not doing this anymore. I mean, I think the carrots are sold at, like, Target, Whole Foods.
Um, Trader Joe's, there's a couple of other places. So y'all look that up. Cause if you're a raw carrot eater, um, you, you don't want to get sick from this, but they just put this out. Okay. I hate to be this way, but when you say there's a warning for people who eat raw carrots. Yeah.
That's when my brain just switches off and just goes elsewhere because like, okay, no fear for me. You may as well say, you may as well say, there's a warning about feminine hygiene products because I'm like, doesn't apply to me when you hear something when you do like a vegetable trader in the holidays.
People always put carrots there. I know a ton of people that like dip it in the ranch sauce and eat it raw. That's not me. A lot of times I will dip it in the ranch sauce, lick the ranch sauce, go back, dip again. It's sort of a vehicle for the ranch. It's a vehicle. I have not a road. I like cook carrots, but I do not like raw carrots. It's just bitters. That's rabbit food. I'll do it without. Thank you very much.
Don't be put. I'm with you on that. You and I are the same on the carrots. I feel like Jim Gaffigan. I go to a party and I see a vegetable tray. I'm like, this is an amazing waste of space. You could get this out of the way, put some pigs and blankets there. What are you doing? Some meatballs. Some of those sweet and sour meatballs. And a crock pot. Bring it, baby. Right.
uh... that caroli you might remember him you can do it uh... i get to interview him in the early nineties and just a brilliant guy funny fun spoke english better than his accent would give you anyway he was the uh... coach of course from nadia come in each he uh... he uh... came to the united states of america defected
back in the day and was responsible for Kari Strugg and others. He passed away the other day at the age of 82. No cause of death given, but I think it was being 82. Some people say, oh, well, he was a part of that entire group that involved Larry Nassar. He was a part of gymnastics for a long time before that. He was a force to be reckoned with. There are folks now who are coming out and going, well, he was mean. I don't know if you know this or not. Had you had
uh... a figure skating coach had you had uh... you know i mean name it basically if it's an Olympic event if if you're going to be great you have to have a coach that drives you and he was a coach that drove you and and now they're just like i just like the way he was so mean to us it's like
Well, you know, you could have gone into any other sport and you would have found an equestrian coach, whatever. You're going to find that this is what they do. This is how they turn out champions, okay? And you can be all upset about it, but go back and watch the movie Whiplash and understand what makes a great coach. They're not likable. They're not lovable. They're not your favorite person.
but the corollary was actually pretty cool guy when i get to talk to him for about ten fifteen minutes uh... he he had a great sense of humor and was just a joy to speak to and uh... he will be missed and quite a career you think he sucked all i did no question my mind if he'd cost me i would have been like what are you doing and you're a jerk i'm a i'm an old white guy you're too tall for to ask i am completely wrong for this you don't have any have a little shorter stockier by the same thing i would have said to larry nasser would have been like what are you doing up never mind

D and V and SRV bringing you back on this really very nice Monday morning. We're 10 days away from Thanksgiving. I think as we barrel toward the holiday season, I just him automatically in a good mood despite all of the things swirling around me that need to be done.
Christmas and Thanksgiving and all of that. It just makes me happy. Yeah, what a celebration we're gonna have. Oh, yeah. This year's gonna be better than ever. I think so, too. Better than ever. For some of us. For many, for most of us. A lot of us. Some don't even know that it's gonna be really good for. Many.
And they're going to look for reasons to be upset. They're going to look for reasons to be mad. They're just going to have to go over it. Don't, don't, don't, don't do that. It takes too much energy. Just be happy. The new, the new line is, uh oh, Donald Trump has fallen below 50% in terms of the electorate. You're like, do you realize that Bill Clinton got elected with 43% of the vote? Do you understand that? Because of the third party, you had Ross Perot in there. He got picked.
got elected with 43% of the vote. Donald Trump's like 49.92%. Oh, he fell below 50. Oh, there's still over three million votes. There are about a three billion vote difference between him and Kamala Harris. I think it still qualifies as a mandate when you win every swing state.
still shocked at how much popular vote that Kamala Harris won. It's just shocking to me. You and me both. I don't think I'll ever be not shocked by the fact that 71 million people were like, yeah, let's vote for the woman who has no platform, no ideas, and an annoying voice. Let's do that.
I just say how. You know, we were talking earlier this morning, Richard, that, you know, I just use pro lift for garage door situation. I had at my house. They were great. And now you're using green garage, one of my sponsors and a great organization. Chris is so good. By the way, Chris, I've got an engine light on. I swear to you, it is happening right now. Engine light comes on. I need Chris. So green garage to the rescue. And they really are good at it.
Even when things like that pop up, you can make an appointment and go over and see green garage. They'll fix this for you. 3, 8, 3, 2009. That's why I don't have any fear that I'll get this resolved, whatever it is. And I know that can be like, oh, gosh, what's happening with a vehicle?
Maybe it's something just simple, like an oil change in a tire rotation, just regular maintenance, you need done to your car. Well, make sure that you're dealing with somebody that is servicing your car and is helping you, whether you have a car or a truck, domestic import, green garage, is it? Even Richard right now, because Chris is a locksmith. He's helping you with a second key, which is pretty darn cool. He is outside our building right now sitting by my truck.
waiting for me to bring my key down to him so that he can make me a second key. I got one key with the truck and I'm like, I'm not a key loser, but I guarantee me having just the one is, if that's like a sign, you're gonna lose this. Yeah, it's dangerous just to have one, it's best to have two. If I have a backup, I guarantee I won't lose the first one. That's just how it is, right?
So Chris is a licensed locksmith. So if you're in the same situation as Richard, go to Green Garage. You get in touch with Chris this morning at 3.83. 2009, you can also go to greengaragebham.com. Read the reviews. Over the top, fantastic good. People really love the service that they get at Green Garage. 3.83. 2009, greengaragebham.com. Terry drops us this line on average. Richard makes me laugh out loud once every three minutes is something wrong with me. The answer is yes, Terry.
Yes, something is bad wrong with you, Terry. Very wrong with you. Donna says, I want to let you notice by Debbie is less than enthusiastic review, less than she hated it on Friday. I went to go see red one yesterday. It's extremely dark, but oh, so enjoyable. Unlike any other Christmas story and just
really good. If you don't see it this weekend, absolutely, or didn't see it this weekend, absolutely go see it. It's great. Did you see it Steve? I didn't have the chance. Me neither. Me neither. I was absolutely boxed in. Maybe tomorrow's full of rain. I am. You know what? It would be a good day to go to a movie. I have other things to do unfortunately, but maybe one day this week I'll get the opportunity.
because I really do want to see it. I love a good Christmas movie, and this one looks like it would be a good Christmas movie. Hey, Donald Trump is already beginning to shrink the size of government. He did this simply by selecting R.F.K. Jr. as his head of health and human services, and now a whole bunch of people in that department are like, we're quitting in protest. Okay, bye. Well, don't let the door hit you, man. I mean, you know,
It's amazing. It's a little bit like self-deporting, right? Yes, that's exactly what it is. And this is what's going to happen is that you're going to help to thin the herd as it is. You won't have to do these firing. You just go ahead and let them go. And then reassess what you have and hire the right people underneath you in that department. So, yeah, bye. See ya.
Well, and what we need is different thinking, because we've had this. Everything's been going well. Everything's been going swell. Everything is nice. And I don't see why we need to change anything. And you're like, really, we're the fattest, sickest country on the planet.
What do you mean you don't see a reason to change anything? I absolutely see a reason to change things. We need to get away from all the stuff that we consider to be normal. One of the things that's making the rounds right now that I've really bought into is the concept that seed oils, they're not helpful. They stay in your body for like ever.
Butter is a significantly better choice. And you go, how could that possibly be? We get away with frying stuff in animal fat years ago. Oh, it's just so bad for you. No, it actually turns out it's better for you than frying things in corn oil or canola oil or one of these other oils. Actually animal fat is processed properly by your body. And of course, all things in moderation, shrinking the size of portions. When I was in Ireland, I noticed that if they brought you food, you could eat all of it.
and you would feel full but not uncomfortable and you didn't have like a big old box you felt the need to take home which is a problem we have in the United States of America. These are all things that need to be changed and you've got a whole bunch of people that are sitting in various positions in government. I don't see any reason to alter anything. Well of course now you're the ones responsible for getting us here.
Right. It's time for change. There's quit out. Yeah, quit and let's figure out how we fix this. We'll find some other people who are thinking correctly because you're not the ones. Work trucks is downtown 23 24 3rd Avenue South. You get a business you need a truck either for delivery or because you need to haul your tools around or whatever it may be. These are the folks that you can count on to do it. Whether you're looking for a diesel truck, a regular gas truck, a big one, a small one, a box truck,
utility body. Maybe you need just a standard old pickup truck with a ladder rack on it, whatever. They'll fit it the way you want. Throw a toolbox on there. However it is you need that truck to be. They'll make it happen for you. All painted white already for your logo. Over 100 vehicles on the lot on any given day. You can check the entire array out right there or trucks with an XLLC.com work trucks where they are all about trucks.
Work trucks. I love them. Uh, let's see. 2324 third Avenue, South, I should give you the address too, right? 830 right now. And Molly Robinson coming in to take a look at the past weekend in football. 835. Talked in at five. Talked in at five.com. Thanks for being here.
We got a big concert announcement coming up in just about twenty-five minutes. I'm not allowed to say anything about it. I have been gagged. There's actually court orders telling me to keep my mouth shut about this very, very important concert announcement. I can't even give you a hint about what it is. I'm not allowed. But I will say this. It's going to be good.
You're going to want to go to that. That is it, man. You're going to want to build up what's incredible here. We so appreciate it. Look, I know. This is great, Richard. I mean, everybody here is like, Richard can't keep his mouth shut. He's like Mark Ruffalo when he comes to, you know, Marvel movie. Yes, I know. I can't. I have a problem with it. I always have to preface things with you, Richard. I'm going to tell you something, but you got to keep it on the down look. So this is nothing. This announcement coming up just after nine o'clock. Yes. It's a big one. I've been threatened with legal action. Leave it at that. Yes. Should I make it in it? Yes. Oh, it's going to be good.
Now, here's something I can tell you about. We don't have to wait till nine o'clock to discuss, and that's Bloom and Blind's Birmingham. Who needs blinds, shutters, shades, curtains, draperies, motorized treatments? Now, this is kind of a game changer when you talk about motorized treatments. Imagine you're laying on yourself enjoying the movie of the lifetime, right? And the sun is in your eyes, but yet you have that little remote control. You can close the shade.
and no more sunshine in your eyes. That's what it's about. Maybe you got a patio or a deck or a porch and you'd like a little privacy out there or to maybe even just keep the bugs out. They have those motorized treatments for those areas too of your home. Call Blumen Blinds today, Mark and his family owned business. These are good people that are going to take good care of you from beginning to end. They do all of the work and they show you what they've got in their showroom.
by showing up at your home or your business it's really that easy six four nine five seven four six or bloomin blinds Birmingham dot com and now and and there it is and now to look back on this past weekend on the grid I am to hear is Molly Robinson good morning morning welcome back happy monday welcome back from law law land yes I made it
Congratulations, sorry Nebraska Cornhusk has stunked the place up. No, they didn't lose by that much to U.S. Day. Oh, it's by 8. 28 to 20. It was gross game. And yet, you know, still 5 and 5 now, both teams. So hard. Yeah, it does, because you can't seem to get over that bowl eligible hump. No. And now you got Wisconsin and Iowa coming, and those don't look good.
No. I'm sorry. I hate to be the bearer of bad time. Anyway, thanks for dropping, Bob. It was great to talk to you. All right, we should talk about Auburn and Alabama too, just wait. It was a rough weekend. It was. We have 20,000 Nebraska fans travel out to LA to go watch a team like that. And you know, inevitably, you just, you know what's going to happen. Yeah. You just, we do it to ourselves. We love pain. I will. There's always next year.
We'll get him next year. That's right. That's Auburn's mantra, I believe. That's there, actually. Hey, look, they beat Lam and Rome. I mean, you know, and actually put a true freshman quarterback in during the fourth quarter. Yeah. That's good. You got to get some reps. Plus, you know, you get kind of like, please don't leave us during the portal. Please stay here. We think you're the future. We feel pretty good about this. We love Hank.
not so not so crazy but but we love hang and we like we think you're going to be the future so please take a look at the future bright uh... you know he didn't look terrible he had to do that had a turnover and uh... he missed uh... he missed one of the big throws but other than that you know look brand brand spanking new freshman guy i feel like he could become epic here's the thing i will always remember
Jogging Jason Campbell endlessly during his, I want to say it was his junior season, that I was just like, this guy ain't the right, he's not the right person for the job, he doesn't know what he's doing, he's missing a lot of throws. The growth between that year and the following year was astronomical. This guy became so good
and maybe we'll see that. Whether that be with this guy or whether it be with Hank or whatever it may be, you know, you never leave out that growth quotient because there's a moment for all the greats. There's a moment where it just clicks and suddenly they get it. And I very much saw that with Jason Kim. I remember it was one of the early games where he faked a handoff
And he backed up and you could just see his whole body relax. You could just see him just like he was just like, and now I'm out of the play and everything's okay. And then he pulled the ball out from behind his back like a magic trick and threw it down field. And I was like, that dude's going to be a superstar. Like he just nailed that play. And from that moment on, and of course that was an epic season. Of course he had Cadillac and Ronnie Brown working with him and all that stuff.
So I have high hopes for Auburn's quarterback. But then again, you have high hopes for Nebraska. And you see how both of those have turned out really. Oh, we stopped picking on Nebraska. No, it's OK. I fully expect to be picked on when you start the season five and one. And now you're sitting at five and five. You're in the last two years. You're, excuse me, you're 0 and 9 in games to clinch bowl eligibility. Yeah, that is pathetic.
Yeah, it's rough. All right, let's talk about something happier. Alabama. Alabama football. There you go. Alabama ranked now number seven in both the AP and coaches, Paul. Fantastic. They moved up. Thank you very much, Tennessee and BYU. Yeah. That helped a lot. It sure did. Because Alabama...
You're still alive. You are still alive and well. And thank you to Florida as well, because they be LSU. That's true too. Because I know there was rumblings about how there was a situation actually where LSU could still kind of weasel their way into the Tennessee Championship game. But not anymore. Yeah. I love it. BYU lost to Kansas State on their home field. Kansas. Kansas. Kansas on their home field.
Okay, wow, Brigham Young, what are you doing over there? Rock, chalk, I guess. Ouch. But Alabama, they've won their last three games by a combined 128 and 20. Okay. They feel pretty good about this. They turned the volume back up. Wow. So that's since losing to Tennessee, who we know lost this weekend, as you said. And that includes wins over two SEC teams as well. Yup. Because, I mean...
It took a beat down to LSU and Missouri. So now it's kind of, is it not kind of in Alabama's hands to make it to the SEC Championship and what go, what happens. Again, we're not looking past what games are left. Don't get me wrong on this. But a chance to get into the SEC Championship game
And what happens after that? Oh, absolutely. I mean, it is all in your hands because everything around you working, I mean, things are working for you in the rest of the country as well. Like I said, LSU losing this weekend, Tennessee losing this weekend. That was huge because now the committee, you know, well, they lost to Georgia. Yeah, they beat Alabama, but they still lost to Georgia who Alabama beat and they have a bad loss against Arkansas. Now, Alabama has that Vanderbilt loss, but that Georgia win and that huge win over LSU.
and Missouri too, who was ranked when you played them and you shut them out.
That'll carry a lot of weight, especially that Georgia win. Cause you're looking kind of at percentages, right? Like, you know, what, what was your, how tough was your schedule? Right. Not just across the country, but like SEC may have a little bit more weight than other conferences. Even though they've had two losses and I think some people thought, well, there's been two losses. There it goes, you know, but they're, they're climbing back up. They're climbing back into some potentials here. No question.
And I mean, you look at Albion with schedule two, you beat number two, Georgia. That's one ranked win. You beat, or you lost to Tennessee, but you beat number 21, Mizzou. You beat number 15 LSU. And technically, you beat South Carolina, who they are. They weren't ranked when you played them, but they are ranked now.
So technically, that's four ranks wins. No other team in the top, I don't know, 10, 20 has more than like two or three. No, that's true. The intangibles have already happened. The stuff you needed to happen like Georgia beating Tennessee has already happened. So now it is absolutely 100% in Alabama's hands. And I have very little doubt that they should be able to take care of business here. I mean, come on, one of their remaining two games is over.
So, uh, I know always taboo. You never, you can throw the record book away. Yeah. Keep the record. Especially with the game being in Brian Denny. Yeah. But on the other hand, don't they go to Oklahoma? They do. And that's generally been a nightmare for Alabama. Yeah. So they better make sure that they're on it.
It could be a trap game. That's all I can say is don't look past it. Exactly. If you learn one thing from playing Vanderbilt, you can't look past it. No, never mind on that. I was shocked to find, Molly, that UAB has only two wins this season. When I went to look up the score, because I didn't see any part of the game, I was like, oh, not only did they lose again to Tulsa, but now they also, they only have two wins this season. I was like, why did I think it was more? Oh, right. Because it should be more, but it's not. UAB guys, what are you doing over there?
Yeah, like you said, a lot of the season and another team putting a lot of points on you felt a little like the Tulane game. But this is painful. I mean, we saw them rise to the occasion one time so far this year. And the rest of it has just been
I don't know what's going to come of this. I don't know what is going to happen with UAB. I think there's a lot of people who are like, well, it's just been a fluke up until now. And this is where they're supposed to be. No, I don't buy that. They have been a powerhouse team. They have been growing. And a chance was taken a couple of years ago on a coach. And a lot of people are thinking, that chance has not panned out the way you guys wanted it to. We'll see.
I hope they can bounce back. I know next week and it's their last home game against rise senior night. Yeah. The confidence is inspiring, isn't it?
I know Sputtle probably be there. No, he'll probably watch it on TV. Sput doesn't like live TV, but he went to write. Here's the other thing too that I find it. You get a really good CD, Micah. Yeah, I find interesting in the SEC is you've got Vanderbilt playing LSU, right? This weekend? And then they played Tennessee. Yeah, the following weekend. Yeah. Vandy Tennessee is all that. Once again, this could really shake up if Vandy plays well. What's going on in the
Come on. Who would have thought in the polls? I don't know, this time last year, let's say, when Vanderbilt's pretty much bottom of the barrel of the SEC, you know, oh yeah, next year they'll beat, you know, they'll beat Alabama. Yeah. I mean, they went down to the wire with Texas. Yeah. Who's been the number one team in the SEC, most of the season. I got some, Vanderbilt's not bad and it's kind of weird. They're good. I mean, look, everyone gets to have a season.
uh... let's talk about really the biggest story in sports coming out of alabama that would be sindy thomas who's a ring girl at the jake pole mike tyson fight uh... oh wow i thought i was like missing a recruiter's internet sensation sindy thomas i think that somebody's probably trying to recruit her and i think that if you turn on the tv and you saw some of the fight over friday night okay there's no way not to have seen her yeah can we talk about that fight for a second awful
It was a complete waste of time. Did you actually get to see it or did you have Netflix problems like everybody else? Oh, we had problems. Yeah, but it just it was a waste. It was lame. I saw only bits and pieces of it in clips the next day and I was like, yeah, this is not.
This is not making, this is not looking good. I'm glad I missed this. The fights leading up, the fights leading up to the Tyson fight were a lot better than the actual fight itself. And that often the case, I mean, you know, people are like, the health and wealth show is really good. And then Dixon and Vinay come on. Sad, but true.

Well, you've got to be careful about what you say on the airwaves, as we know here on Talk 99.5. Well, not all of us know, apparently Andrew McLean didn't get the memo. But most of us know, and you've got to be careful what you say on network TV. Whoopi Goldberg didn't get that memo. She has made a lot of stupid statements in the past, some for which she has actually been suspended from the show for a week at a time or more. And here she does it again.
She was talking about a Staten Island bakery that refused to fulfill her birthday dessert order because of her political views. Or so she claimed.
She called and talked to the owner of this bakery, Charlotte Russe was the name of the bakery. I don't think that's the name of the owner, but she called to speak with the owner and the owner said, we've had a problem with our boiler. Our boiler is broken and we would love to do this for you, but we can't really take any more orders. And Goldberg says, oh, you know, they said they wouldn't do it. They tried to pretend they're oven was broken or whatever, but it's my political views. They don't like my political views.
Well, the next day, you have a press conference. You have the lawyer for the bakery. Hey, the bakery has a lawyer. That's not a good sign. They come out. He gives a speech about how this has nothing to do with Whoopi's political views.
This bakery is 100% apolitical. They are happy to take care of everybody. And unfortunately, you know, the boiler was broken. They managed to get it fixed and they managed to get some cupcakes done. And in fact, somebody else picked up the cupcakes and did in fact get them to the view. And whoopi was like, Oh, once somebody else picked them up, they got done. But you know, when I called, they couldn't be done in whatever. And so this lawyer gives his little speech and then
The owner comes up and she talks about it and says, look, I didn't know anything about this until I got all kinds of calls and emails and stuff. And no, that's not how we do business. We've never done business. And now they're talking lawsuit, not her, but the lawyers talking lawsuit because the lawyers like, how can we sue this person?
and see if we can't walk away with a lot of money. At what point do you look at the person who has been suspended twice and has been reprimanded three or four other times in addition to that and go, you're more trouble than you're worth. I think they should be pretty close with a view in Whoopi Goldberg. They might be. I think they've got to be on the verge of, you know what, Whoopi, it's time.
but i mean you need to read look at the entire view and and and some of their you know some of their policies and where they're going the ratings are in the tank they're not doing well at all and for whoopi to to think that this bakery was somehow not baking things because of her political stances is
is lunacy it's just it this is this is lunacy so yeah i would say this bakeries got probably got a case because she's got a mighty big mike in a mighty big voice in a mighty big name yeah um... by the way she's trash in the bakery i have zero problems by the way with the views political views and i hope they stay on the air forever i think that's you know the united states of america i want to live in i've never understood these people are like they should be taken off their
No, they should not. This is called freedom of speech. They have First Amendment rights. And by the way, as long as there are viewers and they are making money, they should continue doing what they're doing. I have zero problems with that. I'm never going to watch them. What little I've seen of them, I'm horrified by. I'm just like, oh my gosh, you women are dumber than two boxes of rocks put together. Like you're painfully stupid. What you don't know fills volumes. And more importantly, you don't know what you don't know.
which is one of the biggest problems it's there's nothing worse than people who think they're smart and think they have the insights group and think they know what they're talking about when in fact they are one hundred percent clueless and that basically sums up the view and i think that that they don't care about hearing other voices they don't care about hearing the left and whenever they've had a guest on or hearing from the right i should say
whenever they've had a guest on and that guest begins to begin to speak about their values and their views, they shut it down. They shut them down. They beat them up to the point where it's like, you know, why did I come on this show? You asked me to come on. You invited me. Let me speak freely. I didn't come on here for you to beat me up or bash me. And yet there's a handful of people who have managed to best them, handful of people who have managed to get the words out and
pointed out just how wrong they are about a number of things, which is great anytime you can make that happen is good. But, you know, look, this is the country we live in. This is the constitutional rights that we have, and this is as it should be. But when you begin getting and lying about a business and you begin to create a restraint to trade, if you say, wow, they wouldn't serve me because of my politics,
There could be a whole bunch of viewers out there. Well, I was going to go there, but now I'm not okay based on a lie. That's a lawsuit. That's a lawsuit. So it may actually happen that they get some money out of ABC or get an apology out of whoopi or whatever may happen here, but it's ridiculous. Stop and think before you open your mouth.
