Here’s a concise rundown of the major themes and discussions from the second hour of their show.
1. Electric Buses at the University of Alabama
One of the standout discussions revolved around the introduction of electric buses on the University of Alabama (U of A) campus. Here are the key points:
- Investment and Infrastructure: U of A plans to spend $10 million on eight electric buses. This initiative is boosted by a federal grant and a pledge of $2 million from the university.
- Concerns on Feasibility: The hosts express skepticism about the long-term viability of electric buses, citing issues such as:
- Frequent breakdowns of electric buses seen in other cities.
- The need for constant recharging, which could interrupt daily operations.
- High replacement costs for batteries after several years of use.
2. Tragic Air Traffic Incident in DC
The podcast also addressed a recent tragic plane and helicopter crash in Washington D.C. Here are the main takeaways:
- Incident Overview: In total, 67 individuals were aboard the involved aircraft, with approximately 40 bodies recovered from the river.
- Investigation Insights: The NTSB is evaluating the cockpit voice and flight data recorders, which may take time but will provide vital information about the incident.
- Call for Safety Reassessment: The discussion raised questions about conducting military training exercises around busy air traffic zones, implying that safety protocols may need an overhaul to prevent similar accidents in the future.
3. Fun Weekend Events and Activities
Switching to lighter topics, the show highlighted local entertainment options:
- Spook Trail and Groundhog Day Event: A haunted house event that runs from January 31st to February 2nd, with proceeds benefiting local charity organization, Three Hots and a Cot.
- Alabama State Surplus Auction: Listeners were encouraged to explore a surplus auction featuring various items, from industrial equipment to vintage dental chairs, promising opportunities for unique buys.
4. Luke Bryan Ticket Giveaway
Adding excitement to the episode, the hosts conducted a giveaway for tickets to see Luke Bryan live:
- Listeners participated in a fun trivia contest centered around "A Charlie Brown Christmas" to win tickets for an upcoming concert.
5. Popular Super Bowl Snacks by State
In a quirky segment, the hosts discussed a list detailing the most popular Super Bowl snacks in each state, which showcased:
- California's odd choice of baked potatoes as the top snack.
- Alabama's preference for Buffalo chicken dip, reflecting common favorites among listeners.
- A general critique of the methodology used to determine these trends, as many states had head-scratching snack choices.

If you're listening to sports, mixed with pop culture, sprinkled with celebrity interviews, then your earbuds are enjoying the rich eyes and show podcast. None other than Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, Chamere Gibbs. It is great to see you, Brian Dawkins. And there he is. Justin Jefferson, Kyle Brant.
Wow, Jody Foster is on the show, I missed that one. To Clarie Starlius and you're saying, well, should I start Craig Jennings? I don't know. These stuff against the Vikings. See, this is what I'm talking about. It's a really cool hang here. The rich eyes and show. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. Good morning, everyone. It is 704. It is Friday. We made it to the end of the work week.
Friday, January 31st, the last day of the month, 2025. Here's what we got as far as the weather forecast goes. Yes, some rain in our area as we speak. Today's high 66. We'll probably have that rain with us for at least the first half of the day. And then it will begin to move to East Alabama and over into Georgia.
Sunny skies tomorrow, 63 the high going to feel really great and Sunday looks absolutely gorgeous. Bright sunshine and get this a high of 70. I mean, it kind of got that way yesterday. Took Lucy for a walk. I was like, let's go. It's too warm and too nice. Outstanding. And I was shocked at the few people at the park. I was kind of like, where is everybody? Why are you guys not out here enjoying this fantastic
glorious day. But that was fun. Because their hours were a little different hours. Yeah, that's true. I mean, it was out there at like one o'clock in the afternoon. Where is everybody out there working? All right. Trapped in a dreary office somewhere. Good stuff. Hey, speaking of nice weather, can I just put in a plug for a friend of ours? Spook Jones, okay? He's the guy that runs Spook Trail. It's up there between kind of Pumpkin Center and Jasper. It's around Pumpkin Center, actually. It's almost midway between Birmingham and Jasper.
Now they're one of the few people, one of the few people, doing haunted houses. That does a Groundhog Day event. Now the reason I'm telling you this is because the money goes to three hots in a con. And we love three hots in a con. We have a lovely guitar behind you that is signed by all the guys that are involved in it, so that was wonderful. Yeah, this is three nights they're doing this, starts tonight and goes through of course the second of February, starts at about $7.30, $20 to get in, or if you bring a can of food,
It's 15 bucks, and like I said, everything goes to three-hots in account. It's all volunteers working out there because they want to help those people. So it's a groundhog haunted house? Groundhog haunted house, which, you know. That's wild. At one point, from what I understand, you come around a corner and you see your shadow. And it's scary. Yeah.
I don't know what they're doing out there, but it's just get people to get him on the line and find out just exactly what's going on. Cause we want to support that spook. You got to call us. Give us a call. What is this all about? Five, four, five, nine, nine, five. Oh, we want to talk to spook Jones. He's called us before. He's because, you know, people are always looking for fun things to do on the weekend. This, this could be something. Hey, let's load up the fan from Birmingham and Ed to jazz. And the weather's going to be great. Yeah. Like literally better than it was in Halloween when we're doing this.
Yes. So go take advantage of it and and help out a great organization. We love three house. Absolutely we do. 707 with Dixon and a vining Alabama tree pros is ready to take that tree all the way down to the ground and beneath it. That's right. They'll grind that stump up if that's what you want.
Now, suppose you already have a tree down. Maybe one of the storms knocked a tree down and you're tired of it laying there on your property. This happens a lot. You know, people are like, I'm going to do something with that and weeks go by. You have Alabama tree pros come by. They will cut that thing into pieces and haul it away. Or you have a stump that you're really like, I need to get rid of that thing. They will come out and just grind that. Or if you have a full, tall tree and all you want is a trim job.
They'll make that happen for you as well. They will give you some pointers. They'll look at it and go, hmm, a couple of these limbs need to come all the way off, brother, because they're going to fall and it's not going to be pretty. They're going to be honest with you. They're going to be straightforward. They do cost less than the other guys. I know this from experience because I shopped around. You can shop around too, but don't you dare make a deal with anybody until you have talked to the folks at AlabamaTreeProse 308415A3041580. You can find out more alabamaTreeProse.com.
And now it's Dixon and Vining's top three things you need to know today. Well, more and more details are coming out about the plane and helicopter crash that happened Wednesday night in DC. Some of the information is about the traffic around the airport like the Republic Airways passenger jet that was forced to abort its first attempt at landing at Reagan National Airport after a helicopter got into its flight path. Apparently that was literally the night before.
Tuesday night. There is audio recordings from aircraft, air traffic control that confirmed the situation so far. We know that about 40 bodies have been recovered from this crash scene in the river. 67 people in total were aboard both the plane and the three military service members aboard that helicopter, the cockpit. Voice recorder and flight, data recorder from the American Eagle flight were found.
in the river and have now been taken to the NTSB of course being evaluated that will take some time and will probably get some more details about exactly what the communication was about the two there was some talk about the plane had tried to make a hard right
that will probably tell us what the plane was doing or not, what was the helicopter doing. The frequency channels, we talked a little about that yesterday, there's a lot of unknowns and that's why it's important to allow this investigation to unfold so that we have a whole picture from the tower, the plane, and the helicopter, what was going on that night. Having all of that information, not just the voice recorders, but also the data recorders of what was happening,
at that particular time is going to be of immeasurable help and they will have to piece this together. It's a large puzzle is what it is. And this has been known in the past to take years, but they will have a preliminary report in 30 days, which should shed a pretty good amount of light on what took place here. And I know
We would prefer that nobody be at fault. You know, it'd be nice if you could go, well, it was a mechanical error. This one is somebody, a human is an error. Somebody screwed up. That's just no other way to put it. Somebody screwed up and we're going to have to figure out who it was, exactly what happened. And make sure it never happens again. Exactly. And you know, look at the, you know, is this the best idea to do these military trainings at night?
right there at the airport where planes are coming into land. Apparently they've been doing this for forever and it's nothing new. But maybe we really do need to reassess that and look at is there someplace else that they could do these training missions that doesn't put airlines again? Because on Tuesday night,
It looks like almost the exact same thing happened. And then the next night, you've got a crash. We actually have the intersection. The problem here is, of course, is that you have to have real-life training scenarios. And in some cases, you're going to have helicopters flying near airports in foreign countries, of course.
with other air traffic out there. So yeah, that has to be practiced. And look, it's been a long time since we've had this. You know what I would say as a passenger, don't practice all my life. Don't practice while I'm in this damn plane. It's over there somewhere. And I understand that. I want our military to be as ready as and do everything they need to, but not at the cost of citizens that are trying to get from point A to point B and their lives are you. What?
You're making me part of your military training as I'm just trying to, you know, fly into DC. No, thank you. I just, if nothing else, let's look at what's going on in the tower. Do we need more of workers in the tower and train them up and get them in there? You know, what's going on with, again, the military helicopters flying around here, changes obviously need to be made because that accident should have never happened. And I think all of us can agree on that. Oh yeah.
Some questions are being raised by Birmingham City Councilors some grant money from Adekah to maintain the city walk property. The property, the city is planning on spending, get this $250,000 from the grant and the question is, what happens after those funds are gone? Because once that money runs out, you know, what are you going to use to continue to maintain city walk?
Apparently, the property is owned by the state, but the city, of course, it's here. We're responsible for, you know, making sure that it's neat and clean and the sidewalks aren't cracking in the little skateboard areas. Fine. And I mean, it's really, it's very nice, but we've got to be able to maintain it. I am parked all the way down at the end.
and then made the walk, down city walk, to get to Legacy Arena. It's a pleasant walk. And having that there is lovely, but can I be honest? Kind of missed the parking underneath 2059. Yeah, that was convenient. That's where I always parked. Yeah. I'd partner that there'd be meters there. You'd be like a couple of, you know, whatever. They're going to stop checking after six. And you'd be good to go. I parked there for countless concerts.
when I came up from Prattville, when I lived down there. And then, you know, chunks of the interstate started falling off. And you're like, nope, not so safe to park under here anymore. You can't park under there anymore. It's not safe. I'm like, but we can still drive on it. It took years before they were like, OK, it's too safe to drive. It's too safe to drive. Yeah. Yeah. And pieces of concrete falling. Yeah. And you just keep going across that. I drive across that thing every single day. And at least half the time, I think we missed a glorious chance to bury this.
We missed a great chance to make this a tunnel, put it underneath, put it underground. It would have been a world of difference, but okay, we are where we are. Yeah, it is. It worked out for Boston to the tune of billions of dollars. It did cost billions. Yeah, and I'm sure in Birmingham, it would have been worse. Yeah, probably would have. And finally, this story, a decades old US government ban on federally licensed firearms dealers selling handguns to adults.
Under the age of 21 is unconstitutional. A U.S. appeals court held on Thursday citing recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings expanding those gun rights. Isn't this interesting? The ruling by the New Orleans-based Fifth's U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals marked the first time a federal appeals court has held that the violation there to keep the right and bear arms enshrined in the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment.
So, this is interesting. Adults under 21 not able to purchase weapons, and then you said to yourself, I mean, this kind of falls in the same thing. You know, you allow kids to enlist in the military and they're under 21 and handle weapons and that sort of thing.
I think what this Fifth Circuit is saying, and it may end up at the Supreme Court again, I think what they're saying is, technically in the United States of America, when you're 18, you're an adult, every adult has the right to keep and bear arms, you can't say 18 to 21 year olds can't buy guns. You're not allowed to do that, unconstitutional.
We'll see if the Supreme Court agrees with him when we get to that point, assuming that we do get to that point. I had my questions about this when you had several states passing such laws. I was like, I'm not sure that's going to do that. Also, they were banning the kinds of guns. You'd be like, well, you can have long guns, but you can't, you can't have handguns or vice versa. Oh, you can't have these ARs.
okay you can do as much damage with a nine millimeter is you can with an a r depending on where you are the guy at virginia tech had three nine mills that's all it took for him to go out and kill like thirteen people so uh... i'm not sure the type of firearms making the big difference that you think it is nonetheless we'll see if this thing gets uh... expanded interesting case though very interesting seven sixteen with dixon inviting and if you have trucks uh... in your business
And you are thinking, well, the business has changed exponentially now. You know, I used to have this heavy equipment I had to haul around from place to place. It was massive, and I had to have these big trucks that I could fit all of it in. That equipment is now less than half the size it used to be. The trucks are a little oversized. They're eating a lot of gas. I don't really need that any longer. I could dump this truck, get rid of it completely, or, or,
You could get in touch with H and H fleet upfitters and get that truck upfit and get that giant bed and box taken off of that truck and put something smaller and more compact on it. Less weight.
less, you know, better gas mileage. There's a number of ways that you can do this. Plus they can facilitate and put any sort of package inside of that box or whatever it is, van, that will then allow you to put all of that equipment in places where it's easily accessible and organized. It makes a world of difference in terms of doing your job.
Call my buddy Burke, Thomas, to find out more about how you can get your entire fleet upfitted there, or just one truck. They don't, they do not discriminate. If you have one truck, they treat you exactly the same way as they do. The guy who has 150 trucks, the same quality control, the same pickup and delivery, the same great work. That's who they are. Utility beds and flat beds and crane bodies and lift gates and strobes and lights of all kinds. Spray in liners, toolboxes, ladder racks, you name it, they do it.
over there at H and H fleet upfitters. They have a heck of a location in alabaster. I have visited. It's really very astounding. Visit online at hh fleet.com hh fleet.com or call my man Burke Thomas 644 3492 644 3492 721.
Talk995, talk995.com, the song that John Fogarty got sued over by his former company, the former record label, who said, this sounds a little too much like run through the jungle. John sounds a lot like run through the jungle. And John was like, yeah, I wrote that song too. That's why they sound similar. John Fogarty won that lawsuit. Congratulations.
So my next album will sound not just a little bit, but exactly like CCR now. That's the way I'm gonna do it from this point on.
It's a pretty funny story. 722, Dix should divide and talk then and then 5, talk then and then 5.com. That's right. A total of eight electric buses costing $10 million will be on campus by this summer. That'll be paid for through a federal grant plus a $2 million pledge from UA. The project will include electric charging stations on campus for the buses. School leaders say it's a big deal. Hold on a second. Yeah. Eight electric buses. That is correct. 10 million.
I'll put the charging stations in two, Mallory.
uh... this is just job-dropping trouble doing the math i'm just know the math is easy i'm just like you've got to be kidding me well i'm trying to do the math on figuring out how much a regular bus would cost uh... uh... but maybe a hundred thousand dollars two hundred thousand dollars for regular bus i'm sorry i don't know really what they were thinking of a Mercedes uh... well if you did have said in there you could probably have a million you could you probably would make saving could have gotten you a deal you could have got a half-price bus a deal of mercy right
Here's the thing. We have been following stories of cities that have electric buses. There's one I believe in Colorado that they got a whole fleet of electric buses and almost immediately regretted it because, A, these things break down quite frequently. B, they're really expensive to fix.
see, uh, rather than being able to just fuel that thing up with diesel and run it all day, every day, for God knows how long until the diesel tank runs out, these things have to be taken back and charged with great regularity because as you know, the larger a vehicle is, the more force it takes to move it, the more battery power it's going to use. We see this with the cyber truck. Okay. People who have gotten the cyber truck or have even gotten other, you know, trucks that are electric forward makes what I think and, um,
Ram makes one. They're getting these trucks that are battery powered, and they're like, well, this thing is doing okay, and I can't complain about it. They put something in the bed, and they're like, oh, and then they attach a trailer, and they're like, oh, I can't get, you know, more than 100 miles out of this thing, and I got to stop and charge it. Well, if you're a city boss, and you're on the go constantly,
You got to be able to go more than 100 miles between charges. You can't exactly. Well, I got to pull back in over here because now you're taking it off. And this has been a consistent problem with these electric buses in other cities. Did they do the research? I hope they did. Well, and again, they're getting some grant money. So they're like, you know, their eyes got wide and said, Oh, this will be really, really cool.
But beyond this, you have to think about the future of the buses. What's a battery in one of these buses cost? Because you're going to have to replace that eventually. Oh yeah. Imagine what the cost of that is. So where are you going to come up with the money past this? I know you have to do the infrastructure and the charging stations and all of that. I understand that.
So $10 million, okay, it goes toward that. But you've got to look beyond that because another three years from now, if you're running those buses consistently every day around that campus, let's say the bus gets really loaded with students and a lot of students are using the electric buses, your battery isn't going to last all that long and you're going to have to replace it. That's true.
I mean, the average, the average life of a battery in an electric car used on a normal, you know, the way you would normally use a car to and from work, some trips on the weekend, maybe out of town every once in a while, seven years. You got to figure with a bus that is on the road all day, every day. It's going to run through quicker. That's going to go pretty, pretty fast. And if the vehicle battery in a car is $2,000 and a car costs a hundred grand,
What is a $1.2 million bus? What's the cost of the battery in that thing? Or batteries, my guess would be there's more than one. I think there's multiple probably. Wow. Well, I don't know. Good luck to you, University of Alabama. I know that they'll run nice and clean. You won't have the fumes of a bus, but at the same time is this cost really worth all of it.
And will they use these on game day? Are they going to shuttle people around the campus on game day in these buses? And now you're talking about every bus completely loaded to the gills, people hanging off the sides of them trying to get to the stadium. What does that do to the bus? You know what I'm saying? And what about, what about when one of them, the battery dies in the middle of the day?
They're not at the charging station. Nope. Now you've got the tow truck out there. You ever seen a bus being towed? It's not a pretty thing. No, it's not. I'm just like, OK, I sincerely hope that they have done the research. I don't mean to have a plan. Glom on and be all negative about this. We're looking at just grant money. Oh, we got grant money. Let's do the buses. But you're not thinking long term for these buses. That's exactly right. OK, one bus, 10 million.
Right. Well, no, this is eight buses, 10 million. Eight buses, 10 million. Okay. Medium sized bus according to a report in the Green Bay Times, a medium sized bus carrying 30 to 50 passengers cost you anywhere between half a million and $800,000. Now, is that a diesel powered bus or is that a diesel powered? Diesel powered. Yeah. Okay. Half a million and 800,000. All right. So they're paying about 1.2 million per bus, of course, and that involves the charging stations as well. So maybe they're not getting taken for a ride on the price of these things by much.
But still, all I can say is I sincerely hope this works out. I hope that they're not one of the early adapters that goes like we've made a horrible mistake. We should have waited. If we'd waited just a few years, they would have gotten this technology perfected. By the way, one of the things that chaps me about the electric vehicle rush that Joe Biden put on is it turned everybody away from hydrogen, which is an extremely viable
method of moving vehicles. It's fast. It's efficient. You can recharge in about eight seconds because you don't have to plug in. You just put a new hydrogen fuel cylinder in and you're off and running. And the only output is water. So yeah, I got to tell you, I wish people were focusing a little more on hydrogen. I think that might be the future.
734. Talked in at five. Talked in at five dot com. Okay. Apparently it's a margarita kind of Friday.
This is the thing. I'm not, no, I'm sorry. I'm completely on the wagon here. I'm doing the dry January, probably dry January, February and some of March. Oh, you're going to continue it next month. Well, it's going so well. Well, good. I mean, why would I stop? You keep it going. I'm going to keep it going. That's awesome. So I get a good reason to drink. Then I'll start drinking. You know, in Luke's little song, they're talking about the doc. Yeah.
It's almost time to get out on the water. Oh, I could not agree more. Let me tell you something. The Suzuki powered engines that you have on the back of Rodney, Rodney's Marine boats are unbelievable. They've got a few 2024 Savannah consoles left and man, the deals are good on those. I think there's one star craft if he hasn't sold it already at a steal of a deal and of course a ton of the 2025. The legends boat show was last weekend and this week we're about to wrap it up. Today and tomorrow.
They're honoring the boat show prices and rebates and incentives this week only. And when this week is over, boom, it's done. And they got Suzuki to go ahead and give the extra two years of warranty as well. So you get a seven-year warranty instead of a five-year warranty. Well, five-year warranty is great. Seven-year, even better, right? Can't go wrong with that. Suzuki power. They're doing a lot of up-powering. They did a bunch of it over the winter. So if you've had your boat for a while and you go,
Maybe it needs a little more goose. You know, I could use a little something to get me across the lake faster, getting an up power on that Suzuki power. Rodney's Marine does a lot of that. They can do repairs. The accessories, by the way, also on sale for the next couple of days. So if you've been thinking, well, I want one of them big bananas that we can drag behind. I need a giant float. Whatever it may be, they can make it. I don't know why you're talking like that. I don't either. When you're talking about a banana, I guess you change your voice. There's a big banana. I could have something.
Yeah, head on into Rodney's Marine and ask him about the big banana. Rodney's Marine, here's the deal. Purchase your boat with them and you will get the support and service you deserve through the life of owning that boat because they're right there on Lake Logan Martin in Cropwell. Now, if you live on another lake or you want to get that boat on a different lake, that's perfectly fine. But let Rodney be the one that services that boat. He can move it around wherever you need it to go.
Rodney's Marine Highway 231, Lake Logan Martin and Cropwell, great people to work with. You'll love Rodney, his wife, the staff that is there, these guys service the boats and do an excellent job. 525-1500, Rodney's Marine on Facebook. Visit that frequently because there's all kinds of updates that they put there and their website, Rodneyzmarine.com. Time to give away the final pair of winning before you can buy them Luke Bryan tickets. He is appearing at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater coming up Saturday, July the 19th.
with special guest George Bird, Jay Varyana, Drake Milligan, DJ Rock. We have got this final pair of tickets and then at 10 o'clock they go on sale this morning. So here's what I need from you as part of name that Luke. Name that Luke is the contest we've been playing all week and today I'm going to have to ask for specificity.
After it'd be very specific. Okay. Camp, just be general with this one. We gotta have specificity. You're gonna get tough today with this one. This one's tough. Okay. That's why we're gonna take the first correct answer. Oh geez. First, correct answer. 5459950, you're texting us. 5459950, the first correct answer to this question. What exactly does Linus quote in a Charlie Brown Christmas?

All right, I have got another one of these BS maps where we went through the map of the hot sauces. And we were all like, this is all wrong. We've done this before with things that are supposedly the number one choice or the most popular whatever in every state. And here we have the most popular Super Bowl foods by state. When you look at, for instance, California, they claim the most popular Super Bowl food
is a baked potato. What? Yeah. No, twice baked. Here. No, no. Potato skins. California. Potato skins maybe. Potato skins maybe, but not a baked potato. Here's the reason why this is failing miserably, because what they do is they go and see what was most searched on the internet. So for instance, I've made baked potatoes for a long time now, but the first five or six times I made it might be like, I keep forgetting the temp,
And I keep forgetting the time. So I'd go online and be like, how long do I cook a bake? Oh, OK, it's 400 degrees for an hour or 400 for an hour 15, depending on you can do it a 375, whatever. But just get that idea. So they're like, oh, well, that's a popular Super Bowl. No, it's not necessarily.
Big potato. Big potato? No, that's weird. That's downright idiotic is what it is. About 10 California, just really odd. Yeah, even dumber. In Wyoming, Utah and Idaho, the claim is funeral potatoes. Nobody's having funeral potatoes at the Super Bowl. No, not even people in Utah. They're having jello, we know that. Don't clap the Utah people in there. They're like, don't you put us in this? Now, Texas, I think they got right. Hot dogs.
Right? Yeah, hot dogs at the Super Bowl. That makes sense. Okay. Colorado, garlic knots, maybe. That's not unreasonable. I like garlic knots. I'm a big fan of garlic knots. You get in to say Oklahoma, fried green tomatoes. No. Not in Oklahoma, no. And nobody's eating those at the Super Bowl. That's not a Super Bowl snack. Stop it, you're being stupid.
crawfish atufe in Louisiana. Okay, you can have that. It'd be more like jambalaya probably. Maybe. New York. New York. Baked ziti. That's such a super bowl snack. That's not a snack, that's a dinner. Everyone gathers around the old baked ziti for a super bowl. See, this is why they're so stupid. This is the dumbest. Would you like to hear what Alabama's is? Oh gosh, please bring it. Buffalo chicken dip.
Okay. That I can actually believe. That's, how about wings? A huge amount of the country is buffalo chicken. How about not one single state says that wings is their number one? Okay, so what's wrong with this? The wings should be the first thing. Then maybe pizza? Yeah, pizza and wings were the first two things that came to mind. Wings first, pizza second. We are of like minds on this. But they said, well, no one's searching it. And at that, you know, maybe a hot dog at the stadium. Yeah.
But for the most part, people are doing, you know, crock pot with some kind of dip. Yeah, meaty cheese dip, something like that, or a little bit of pigs in a blanket. Where's that? Do they have a pig in a blanket? I guess the hot dog would be it. That's closest to kids. Come on, people. Y'all are doing it all wrong. Sandwiches, you know? I mean, making a sub sandwich and cutting it up into pieces. That's a nice... Yes.
Super Bowl snack. Right. Chips, salsa, where's that? And while I can certainly see dip, buffalo chicken dip is not the first thing that comes to mind. It really is not. I mean, if you're going high end, it's going to be more of an artichoke dip. If you're going low end, it's going to be that Rotel, Belvita thing. I'm a huge fan of that. Oh, me too. Add a little ground sausage in there, too. Exactly. You make that with sausage, it will set you free as a whole new one. Made it with ground beef forever. You're like, get away. This is my crock pot. That's right.
and back baby. That's right. Chili. You could do super. Chili is another one. Not bad. Chili is another one. Not bad. Chili is another one. Not bad. Chili is another one. Not bad. Chili is another one. Not bad. Chili is another one. Not bad. Chili is another one. Not bad. Chili is another one. Not bad. Chili is another one.
This is the person that put this together. This is the dumbest thing. Right. Who's doing Devil Dags? Somewhere on this map is Devil Dags. It looks like it's somewhere in the Northeast. Yeah. District District of Columbia.
Oh, of course. Yeah, that makes sense. Y'all are through through doing deviled eggs. That's supposed to be for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Come on. Super bowl. Easter till Easter. You could do Easter. And let me tell you what, they're a little expensive right now. You want to back off the deviled eggs. Oh no, I might make some this Easter. I might bring some in. I love a good deviled egg. Yeah, I would imagine this Easter look out. Plastic eggs might be the way to go this year. I could tell you this though.
You keep going to where shopping is a pleasure and a Costco. Yeah, it's a boat because sometimes they want some of them to have them. As at Walmart, the other day, they're lousy with eggs. They're at up with eggs. Go to Walmart, they get a ton of eggs. That was another one I went. They didn't have very many. So I was like, well, let me go into the wrong Walmart. Of course, I'm going to the wrong one. The cool people hang out. Let's go to the phones where Dory is on the line. Do I have that name correct?
You do? The O-R-R-I, Dory. Uh-huh. Dory, Dory the Explory. I bet she gets that a lot. Probably. She's from children. Who's that and finding me, though? That works well as well. Okay. The question was, from what does Linus quote in a Charlie Brown Christmas be specific, please? Luke 2, verse 8 through 14. That is correct!
Congratulations, Story! For being a biblical scholar, you've just won a pair of tickets to see Luke Bryan at the Coca-Cola Empathy at a coming up Saturday, July 19th, along with special guest George Burge, Avery Anna, Greg Milligan and DJ Rock. These tickets don't go on sale till 10 o'clock this morning, but you won them before you can buy them from Dixon and Vining Talk 1995 and from Spiegel, Chicago Illinois 6.0, 6.0, 9. Nice job, Dory.
did you know that off the top of your head or did you have to go uh... actually try one of the time to look that up all she could choose the first one was the first yeah congratulations i did look it up i didn't know the birth i didn't know it specifically but i didn't know we talked about the chapters in the field right and you're quick dory then i give you a kudos for looking that up and getting in as the first one used ai man guarantee well traffic's kind of slow on two eighty sir you have time to take
They're in good shape. Yeah. I don't like you. I knew it was Luke 2, and I thought it was verse 8, but I did not know how far it went. So I was like, I got that far. Yeah. Some put 8 through 20. They weren't sure of the second number, but way to be on it. Congratulations, Dorey. Hold on a second. We're going to set you up with these tickets once Steve gets the info.
Yeah, and just a heads up, those of you that have won the Luke Bryan tickets are really any of these other concerts that are coming up at the Coca-Cola, the brand new Coca-Cola amphitheater in Birmingham. Not yet built? Yeah, not yet built. We likely don't get those tickets till, you know, three, two, three, four weeks before the show. And as soon as we get them, of course, we will email those to you. A couple of times we... Don't be looking for them right now when we're in January. We've gotten them a couple of days after the show in the past. No, you won't do that. No, we promise. We'll get them before. We will get them to you. This time we're not going
going to screw it up.
twenty five hundred maybe if you live in a larger home three grand three thousand right think about that times all i don't know nine that's how much room we're talking about living rooms dining rooms bedroom sets occasional pieces
Everything you could ever possibly want for a home, including, you know, if you want a piecemeal this thing, you go, I want that sofa. I want that chair. I want that occasional table. However you want to do it, they can do it for you. And they do have that designer furniture wholesale prices.
which is truly amazing if you've shopped around. You've seen the furniture elsewhere. You've looked at the, as I did when I was shopping for a whole house full of furniture, I looked at some prices and I was like, I'm going to be living in an empty house. I can't afford any of this stuff.
Flipses furniture will knock those prices way down and right out of the park and make you incredibly happy. I love these guys. 12 months same as cash as well. They have a fight with their wife. They buy them flowers. Maybe take them out to dinner, write a nice note. John Lennon hits song. Not that. Yeah. Yoko got a song. Sorry, Yoko. Let me write you a hit. How about, how about I give you all the money from the hit too? Would you? Please stop screaming into the microphone. 752, talk then and I had five talk then and I had five dot com diction, vining, you.
We're all here together. We hand things off to Dale Jackson next. Then, of course, we get the line with Andrew McLean. And we get Leland live. He's going to be live at the World Wheel. World Wheel. World Wheel. World Wheel. What are we going to announce the winner on that? We can do that whenever you would like. All right. Well, let's do it next hour. OK. Sounds like a blast. Sounds good. If you were entered, you put your wheels in. Don't do it now. We've already done the drawing. We're going to announce it coming up.
But the winners are going to get a meet and greet family four pack, get in a little early and get to hang out with Christian Cage. How about that? Which is all happening today. And you can go hang out with Leland too at the BJCC. I'm going to see Leland and Christian Cage get into it. Wouldn't that be fun? Let's see those two ring together. Yeah.
Hey, Christian, Leland says he could kick your ass. Oh, no. What? He's like, I never said that. I don't know what you're talking about. Oh, he's going to be an instigator. He's one of those guys. The Alabama state surplus auction is taking place this weekend.
Would you like to know what they have available? Sure, yeah, yeah. Uh-huh. Some of this might be hard to comprehend. Well, there's stuff that I don't fully understand what it is. I'm looking at an Epson, I don't know what it is. Is it a printer? It looks like it could be- I'm sure it's pretty well known for their printers, yeah. I want to say it's a printer. That would be my guess, but it's a huge industrial printer. I mean, it is a massive piece of work. It's much a little much for a home office. Yeah, I don't think you want this for your home office.
How about the white prison buses? What? They got a couple of those. You can, you know, you can turn that into something. You see people do that all the time with old buses. They turn them into like an RV of sorts and litter. I'll see two or three. I'm out of Talladega this spring. Here's what I think you should do. That would be funny. You should buy this white bus, okay? Oh no. Go out. You can probably lie on Amazon. Get 30 orange jumpsuits.
Get all your closest friends together. Oh, no. It's a terrible idea. Pull into a Walmart parking lot and everyone just run out. Yeah, we're playing! See how that goes. Oh, man. Good times. Industrial washer. I mean, this thing is massive. This is a huge piece of work over here. You could put five people in there. Oh. I have a little party. So it's like a laundromat washer? You should. Oh, much bigger. Bigger than that. Much bigger. I want to say this probably came from the prison as well.
Let's see a desk and an office chair, not the kind of like the kind you'd sit in to talk to the guy on the other side of the desk. How about an entire bin full of toys?
Yeah, some of them look kind of banged up and others look brand new. Yeah, there are some that are still on their original packaging. I don't know where the dental chair. Yeah, I like the dental chair. And it even comes with the being able to x-ray the inside of your mouth machine. It's kind of tied there. I want this. I don't have a good reason to pull attached to it. Yeah, it's got to be. Yeah, it's got to be. Yeah, rinse. There you go.
Maybe a barber's chair, but not a dental chair. Oh, yeah, I could do this though. I've never been more comfortable than I have. Even the barber's chair wasn't more comfortable than the dentist chair because they lean you way back. And they're like, all right, open wide. I've fallen asleep in the dentist chair. Yeah, I have. I'm not a nervous guy at the dentist at all. How about a ton of flat screen monitors?
I mean, just an absolute load of these things. And you go, do I have to buy them in bulk or can I just buy one? Can I have one? That's a good question. There's a ton of laptops that they've got here. And I'm thinking, if these were previously owned by state employees, so much porn on there. Is there any some information on Hillary Clinton, any of those? Can we clean those off? Yeah, right. I think I wiped off with the cloth. Some push mowers, a riding mower, a whole bunch of trucks.
We got Ford, we got Dodge, we got Chevy's, and we're talking about pickup trucks here. Pretty decent sized pickup trucks that you probably see in a city workers and state workers tooling around there. I see something I want. Yeah. Yeah. A vending machine. I just need somebody else to put the things in there. Yeah.
The snack machine that you would then have to, you know, put money in in order to get the stuff back out again. Why would you want to do that? I don't know. It could be fun. It would have been fun when Aiden was little and all the kids would run over and rather than pulling drinks out of the fridge, they could grab a snack out of this out of the.
The vending machine. I imagine you could set it for no money. Yeah. You could set it for that if you wanted to. And then you just have to load the thing up with the snacks. The difference is you could put only stuff you like in there, right? Right. You're like, you have your one whole roll of cheese. I'm going to put regular cheese. I probably need a couple rows of cheeses. Here's the white cheddar cheeses. These are the extra toasty cheeses. Here's the combo cheeses that are both the blue cheese and ranch and whatever. Yeah. And then pretzels on the next row. And I like it.
Look, tons of tools too. Man, you guys need some tools. Again, can I buy just one? I would think so. You don't have to buy like the whole box of whatever. I wouldn't think. I don't know. I don't know that they're going to wrap up one drill and send it to me, you know?
send it to you. You got to go get it. I was going to say, everything is as is to, you know, that's the thing. It's an auction. You go ahead and you buy this thing, you get it home. It's like, well, no wonder they're not using it. It's broken. Yeah. Well, there's a flat of like drills and stuff in boxes. So maybe you have to buy the whole flat flat and then good luck to you. You're interested in one of those.
We've got some cathode ray. We've got some computers here. We've got a ton of event chairs. Your church may be looking at these. There's a safe. You're going to need a safe. A big old safe. Has a big old safe. Does it come with a combination?
Mm, that might be the part. That's why they're auctioning it all. I locked it inside. Yeah, we lost it. There's another dental chair. Yeah, you never have too many dental chairs. What's going on with that? More than one. Washers and dryers. Huns of washers and dryers. They're loaded down with it. If you know washer or dryer, you need to go online right now and find this thing. You might need this in your life. Yeah.
The ice cream little freezer. The blue bunny ice cream like you find at a convenience store where they keep the little ice cream treats and they slide it is a glass, you know, flat on top and you slide it across. I want this. I got to have this and the giant industrial size fridge that's too over from there. Look at that thing. I could put that in my kitchen.
Yeah, baby. All right. So the state selling some pretty good stuff. Go online and find out more about it. It's a surplus property auction. You can find just, you know, put that in Alabama surplus property auction. This weekend, you'll be able to go bid on these items. And, you know, by the end of the weekend, if one of you gets the dental chair, we expect to hear about it. You text us on Monday. We can do with that thing. I got the dental chair. Were you putting that? Oh, the positions, the positions. I'm just saying. Eight, what?
