Good morning, Birmingham. It is Dixon and I talk down and I'm five. Talk down and I'm five dot com six. Oh, four on this beautiful Wednesday morning. It is the 29th of January of 2025. Great googly moogly. We are almost done with the January. How about Saturday is February 1st.
Yes. You know what? I'm excited about it. That cold, that cold air we had in January. Goodbye. Goodbye. I've had enough. You're ready for February cold air. You'd rather have that. Oh yeah. There's 70 degree temperatures coming. That's going to start off today. 64 tomorrow, 67 looking like Friday is going to be 66 rain moves in early moves out early and then 63 and 68 on the weekend. Hello. Come on. This should be fabulous.
Absolutely lovely, but I wouldn't say that the cold snap is over. I wouldn't be surprised if we got at least one more.
before this weather, this winter weather is over. And I'm good with that as long as it's a short one and we can get just through it and move on with our lives. Here's the thing. If you've got kids, if you've got dogs, whatever it is, once this rain comes in Thursday night into Friday early morning and moves out, it looks like it's going to be a great weekend. I mean, sunshine, 60s, get outdoors, folks. Get outdoors and enjoy.
Absolutely, especially in the Great Birmingham Metro area, there are so many outdoor things you can do that we've been cooped up and unable to avail ourselves of. So many parks, there's Oak Mountain and there's Red Mountain and in other places that you can go. If you want to canoe, you want to go out to Lake Logan Martin with your boat and get on it and do a little
jetting about whatever it may be. Because, you know, while you've got 68 degrees on Sunday, that's not something you want to fritter away. No, absolutely not. You want to take advantage of it so that later two weeks from now, when you're sitting at 33, you can go, remember that Sunday? We got out.
I had the Hawaiian shirt. I enjoyed it. I was looking good. Man, that's going to be some nice temperatures. Yeah, boy. Love it. Looking forward to it. A lot of stuff to talk about today. Still got the world's wheels giveaway going on. We are going to be doing that drawing coming up later this week. All you have to do is text the word wheels to 5459950. And that will put you in the running for a chance to win a family four pack and early entry Friday.
on the 31st to meet the all elite wrestler Christian Cage. There's going to be a backstage meet and greet. So you'll have the opportunity to have Christian Cage all to yourself. Challenge him one on one. Cage match. Why not? I mean, get it. His name is Christian Cage. So it'd be a cage match right off the bat. There you go. Yeah. Ask about his brother Nicholas. Yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun. BJCC, everybody loves the world of wheels. O'Reilly world of wheels. And we'll give you a chance.
to get the four pack of tickets. So, good luck, everybody. About an hour and a half from now. Look, Brian, tickets going out the door. We'll tell you how we do that. Plus, we get some taste tests going on today. Mm-hmm. It takes a little while to try stuff. On a Wednesday, this has become our standard thing because I got all these. We're out of, like, the normal flavored Lay's chips. I'm sorry. Well, they were normal.
Well, we have one that was steak and butter and one that was chicken wing. Okay. And now we have drifted into this one is it looks like it's fiery hot. The only aside from lays, which is not even in English, the only English word on this package is max. M-A-X. And then there's a lot of flames on it and a hot pepper.
So this is like Andrew doing the single chip challenge. Yeah, we need to go get a glass of milk and put it beside the chip. Need to have something ready to go. I'm frightened. I am too. These scare me a little bit. We'll see how it goes. We'll get there. That'll be happening around 730 this morning. In the meantime, Flipses Furniture 1811 Crestwood Boulevard in a beautiful Iron Dale. I love this place. The minute you walk in, you know, furniture stores have a particular smell.
They've got that new furniture smell. And boy, Flipses has got it in spades. I love it. I love the fact you walk in the door, living rooms to the left of you, living rooms to the right of you. As you work your way down the right or left side, you'll run across some bedrooms. In the center, once you get past the two desks, that's where you're going to find all of the dining room stuff and the kitchen dining stuff. And it is also gorgeous. And what you're going to be shocked by is that you see a lot of stuff that other stores have.
And you're going to say, well, this isn't that different until you look at the prices and you go, well, this is a lot different because it's the same stuff, but it costs so much less than some of the other big name stores that you may have been to. So.
If you want to shop around, look, I am Mr. Comparison Chopper. I will sometimes research something to death before I buy it to the point where by the time I get to buying time, I'm like, I don't want this thing anymore. I've researched it so much. But I can tell you that if you want to shop around and compare prices,
I recommend you do so. Just don't buy a thing until you've been to Flipses Furniture because you're going to love the prices. You're going to love the experience there. Make them your last stop. FlipsesFurniture.com online. FlipsesFurniture.com. Twelve months same as cash, designer furniture, and wholesale prices. And of course, they've got that white glove delivery. You've got to ask about it, man. I'll tell you, it is a world-beater Flipses Furniture 1811 Crestwood Boulevard in beautiful Iron Dale. Let's do this thing.
And now it's Dixon and Vining's top three things you need to know today. Well, we call it a target-rich environment, as Donald Trump continues his flurry of activity. It's been an office for whopping 10 days now, and frankly, I'm exhausted. Yesterday, you shared an update on the drone seen flying over New Jersey.
It would appear as though many of them were authorized by the FAA for research and various other reasons. That according to Caroline Levin, why couldn't the last administration say, no, no, no, we've checked this out. The FAA says it's okay for these things to be flying around, which does make sense because if they weren't approved, they'd be bumping into each other.
you would think so, yeah, apparently the FBI didn't know anything about this, that it was all the FAA, and they were aware, but why did the Biden administration feel the need to keep this a secret, because they had this information? Right, they could be private, they could be intelligence drones, you know, we heard about some missing nuclear material, these things could be out looking for that, maybe with some sort of detective on them, you know, to look for a nuclear signature coming off a building or something of that nature, there's no telling, but the thing is,
As suspected, I think I said it right off the bat. I said, they know what it is. They know what it is. There's no way they don't know what it is. They're just not telling you. Right. Even early on when Joe Biden was still in office before Donald Trump took office,
Um, even Trump kind of hinted, you know, he, he wasn't in the position as president yet and felt like, you know, this isn't my place to speak about it. It's Joe Biden's place to speak about it. But he hinted that, yeah, they, they kind of knew what they knew what it was. So I was like, well, okay, if Donald Trump knows what it is, and he doesn't seem alarmed by this. Cause if he was alarmed, he would have, he would have started saying something. This is terrible. It's the worst thing ever. Everybody's talking about it better.
You know interestingly of those they don't know what they are That is when you've got people who own drones some of them very nice drones And they see these other drones flying around they go who I'm gonna go join them I'm gonna go out there and throw my drone up and just know that's confused the issue even more Is that how people in New Jersey? That's exactly how they sound Southern New Jersey. Yes, Southern New Jersey. I've been to New Jersey. I spoke to several people that are like hi
from New Jersey. But you're exactly right, people thought, oh, well, I've got a drone, and I'm going to put it up in the air, too. And then, you know, Joe down the street, and then Jim, the three blocks down. Oh, let's get him up in the air. That's all. Let's go. It'll be fun. Yeah. ICE is picking people up in Alabama, and an immigration crackdown. They're starting down in Mobile, the sheriff.
down there in Mobile County says, hey, we're more than happy to help. You know, this is what's happening. There's a lot of people and you might remember before the election, and boy, the press doesn't want to talk about this, before the election, a huge number of people were in favor of a slamming the border shut.
And B, deporting the illegal immigrants who were here, especially the criminal illegal immigrants. I mean, it was like in the high 50%, 58% what it came to, we should deport the illegal immigrants. You say, what about the ones who are just criminals, just the ones who have committed really bad acts aside from coming across our border? It leaped into the 70s. And now you've got the press and Selena Gomez, they're deporting my people.
They're criminals. These are bad people. They've committed crimes. They came to our country where we were like, hey, welcome to the land of milk and honey. We're excited about having you. Hey, land of opportunity. You can be anything you want and they chose to be a criminal.
Yeah, you know, where are those tears for, you know, people like Lake and Riley and others who have lost their lives or been raped or, you know, you just think about all the things that have happened with the illegals, some of the illegals, the worst of the worst that are here.
Where's the tears for those people? You're crying for the illegals that are here, the criminals right now that are being rounded up. Your priorities are all out of whack. Yeah, you get zero amounts of tears from me, even if you have not committed an illegal act aside from coming across the world, exactly. It's in your name. You're an illegal alien in our country. You came here illegally. You said yesterday. She said, you know, here's the thing. They all have criminal records. Entering the country illegally is a criminal
act. And so, yeah, here's the thing, we're starting with the worst of the worst. Why wouldn't we, right? That's the correct order to go. But beyond that, they're all going. Eventually, they're all going to go. Has anybody, uh, has anybody, uh, maybe checked up in Albertville, Alabama? Well, how many, how many thousands, uh, I'm not saying that everybody there is illegal, but there's some going on there. Yeah.
No question about it. And now you're hearing things like, oh, there's a whole bunch of people that aren't showing up for work because they're so scared. Okay. Well, if they're not showing up for work, then they're not going to have money. So then they'll eventually have to go home. So that'll work out well, right? And then you can refill those positions with Americans who want jobs, low skill jobs to be sure, but there are, there's no lack of unskilled Americans out there. I mean, there's plenty of folks out there. Some of them are students, some of them are, you know, people who got out of the high school and said, I don't want to be a
college student. I don't want to go any further than this. I'm just going to go out and make- Figure it out. My way in the world, you know? And this would be the way to do it. An investigation is underway into a distressing, strange, explosive noise heard by Centerville residents for the last two weeks. Yeah, this is really strange.
Mayor said most of us in central city limits have heard the strange explosive noise over the past two weeks. We've all reported it's a law enforcement. They're well aware. However, without knowing exactly what it is, we can't find out what it is. Be assured that if a person or persons are involved, we will know something at some point that according to Mike Oakley on the Facebook.
maybe somebody doing I mean they own a whole bunch of land and they're doing explosive something they're building something or it's underground or whatever I mean there's got to be an explanation to this you know I used to hang out up in springville quite a bit and
The rednecks up there love them some tannerite, okay? If you watch Tiger King, you know what that is. That's something you shoot and it explodes. And it is a complete waste of money, but it is a hoo-boo watch this moment. And it could just be that, that some resident managed to get himself a load of tannerite. A box of something. And it's out there just blowing it off.
one of the residents said, look, this one the other night, it was far too close for them not to know what's going on. I mean, it was like, it was right on the edge of the city. It shook my windows. Come on. How do you not know what's happening here? Okay. We'll see. And many of them are also like, you know what you're lying. You, you graffiti officials, you know what's happening. You know what this is. They're like, no, no, you give us far too much credit. We're not nearly as bright as we appear. All right, Richard. Nice. Yeah.
So you've got a business and you've got a whole bunch of trucks and they're not quite suiting your needs any longer. Now you've got two choices here. One could be how about we go out and get all new trucks. All right, that could be expensive. Or how about we upfit the trucks we have.
Maybe you put something like camper tops on top of the pickup trucks you have, or you put utility bodies on them. Or maybe you need some strobes and lights of some kind on your vehicles, because you're doing some night work. You've expanded into that realm, whatever it may be. Boy, lift gates. What a world of difference having a lift gate will make. It is going to save a lot of backs. It is so convenient. I wish I had a reason to buy a lift gate. I don't.
crane bodies, ladder racks, packages to fit almost any van interior. They can set you up with a flat bed. They do spray in liners all day every day out there. Whatever kind of trucks you have, they'll turn them into whatever kind of trucks you want and they'll make it happen at a reasonable price. They pick up, they deliver, they are, they got quality control like nobody's business.
Look, there are other people that do this. There's nobody who does it as well as H&H fleet upfitters. H&H fleet upfitters is the name of the business. You can find them online at hhfleet.com. Hhfleet.com. Burke Thomas is the guy you need to call Burke Thomas. He's a good man, a strong man, and a guy who's going to guide you through this process and take great care of you. 644-3492-644-3492 or online at hhfleet.com.
City here we come Jan and Dean Kind of compatriots there of the beach boys Doing a little surf city. I happen to know the mayor of surf city. I helped him rig that election. Yeah That work out for you. It's pretty good. Nobody caught you rigging it. No, of course not. Are you kidding? That's very good rich people are stupid. Hey
People are stupid. They buy anything you tell. Sure. Hey, we're talking about how nice and warm it's going to be this weekend. It really would be nice if you had a boat. And on that boat is a Zuki powered engine. And you can get that at Rodney's Marine. And get this. They have a few 2024 Savannah consoles.
And one star craft, it is a steal of a deal and lots of of course 2025s, all kinds of pontoon boats. The legends boat show is last weekend and they're honoring the boat show prices and rebates and incentives this week only. So you've got today, Thursday and Friday to take advantage of it at Rodney's Marine.
One of those incentives is a little extra warranty on your Suzuki power. They'll throw a seven year warranty at you instead of the usual five year warranty, which is really cool. Of course, if you have a boat, you need some repairs done. You know, we push, you know, I realize it's like it's in the back of your mind. You're like, yeah, I got to do this thing with the boat. And you're not really thinking about it.
You need to call Rodney's Marine and get this thing scheduled. Get your boat in there and get it taken care of because they will give you a little extra off. If you schedule it during the off season like this and they'll be more than happy to take care of it so that when boating season really kicks in in earnest,
not like this Sunday, which is going to be like a faux boating season. It's going to be like a false boating season. But when it finally kicks in and earnest in late March, you will be good to go and everything will be set up. Lots of accessories for sale, of course, out there as well. If you want to decorate the
Maybe buy a little something for your honey for Valentine's. Oh, yeah, that's a great idea because right after Valentine's, it's not long before we're back out on the lake. And it doesn't matter which lake you're on, folks. It doesn't... Rodney's is out on Lake Logan Martin, but if you're at Smith Lake or some other lake, he can, of course, service your boat, take good care of you and that boat. Rodney's Marine, Highway 231, on Lake Logan Martin, ain't crop well.
uh, super people, just really, really good people that are going to take good care of you and your boat five, two, five, fifteen hundred. Rodney's Marine is on Facebook. Visit their website. They're updating it all the time and Rodney's Marine dot com. I, uh, I would like to take you back to the 29th of January of 2021.
I'm sure you remember, I remember, I remember like it was yesterday, Valerie, Steve, I'm pretty sure you guys remember this as well. Everybody on the right, you know, aside from complaining about a stolen election, we were all like, well, how come Biden hasn't cured COVID yet?
I can't believe he has secured covid. He said he was going to cure code. He said he was going to say he didn't say he said I'm not going to shut down. The government was shut down the virus and he hasn't shut the virus down at all. It's been like 10 days. How come he hasn't shut the virus down.
Okay, clearly that was absurd. Nobody said that. Everybody understood that COVID took a while to get here. It was gonna take a while to leave. We were definitely in the throes of departure by that point of 2021, okay? There's no question that we were, you know, we were little by little working our way out of it. Unless of course you lived in California or New York where some people are still wandering around wearing masks because they're morons.
But, uh, you know, juxtapose that with all of the liberals running around today, hook him the price of eggs is still high. He's been president 10 days. He said he's going to bring the egg price down. Do they do they follow the news at all about what's going on with eggs?
I mean, just that that was the worst one you could have picked because there's a problem with eggs right now. It was one of the things everybody was complaining about that eggs were ridiculously high and they were, but they were ridiculously high under Biden before this bird flu epidemic.
kicked in, right? They were ridiculously high because of his stupid inflationary policies. Now they're high because we're slaughtering millions of chickens, not just because some of them have bird flu, but to try to keep the others from contracting, we go, well, we'd rather kill you than have you get bird flu and then maybe infect your eggs and, you know, we all get it.
I guess is the thought process there. So obviously, smaller supply, same demand, and consequently the price of eggs is going up, up, up, up. And now, of course, the liberals are using this as kind of a harbinger of a, oh, well, he's not doing what he said he was going to do. Look. The man hasn't even been in office 10 days. I mean, good gracious. I mean, there's
You and I have been on a diet now for three weeks and two or three days, right? Something like that. Started on January the 6th and here it is the 29th. So yeah, three weeks and three days we've been on these diets. How come I'm not thin yet? I don't understand. It would be the same thing. It took me from Halloween.
to January 6th to put this weight on. This idea that I can suddenly take it off over next year. It doesn't work that way. It took two years for prices to get to where they are really three because it peaked, inflation peaked in, I want to say it was August, September, October of 21. That's when things just skyrocketed and we got up to like 9.8%.
inflation, which was crazy. And then, you know, the inflation rate started dropping, but the prices stayed up obviously because it's cumulative. So this idea that you're going to fix inflation overnight, like I said, what's really going to happen is you're going to reduce
the price of things a little bit by getting the fuel prices down with a drill baby drill proposal. Everybody needs to get some drill bits in the ground. We need to open up the offshore areas and really start making that happen. And the more we can drill and the more we can refine, the faster gas prices are going to come down. Once that happens, then transport prices go down and consequently the price of goods goes down. But not much, not as much as we'd like it to because that was only a part
of the inflation. The rest of it is you've got to grow the economy to the point where paying $8.99 for 18 eggs doesn't seem like a crazy thing anymore. It feels like when you were paying $3.99 for those eggs.
well and it seems like they've they've picked on the eggs thing because it's a double issue it's not only that eggs are higher because of the economy but i mean i i told you i was i think it was last friday was in walmart and there was like like no eggs there was zero right well you know they've killed
millions of chickens and they got to deplete that and then they got to start again and to get that supply back to stores may take another month or two or maybe even longer depending upon this bird flu. So I just think the eggs is a bad example because it's a twofold issue right now. The economy and the bird flu. Have we looked?
Have we even looked at like pigeon eggs? There's a lot of those in New York City. How about flamingo eggs or peacock eggs? There are flamingos. There's not a lot of peacocks. But I feel like, you know, seagulls. They're everywhere. Oh, gosh. We don't use seagulls. They eat a lot of garbage. What do you think chickens are eating? I mean, we're feeding them.
I don't want to think about it. Okay, let's not. Yeah, that's a bad idea. I have a bold egg later for the day. I don't know that I don't know that I really don't think about it. I got it. Sorry to change the subject. Yes. Kalira. Yeah, I was about to. I've got it pulled up to hit it over turned vehicle. Oh, geez. Not far from yesterday's spot. Yeah.
So down your timberline golf course, if you know where that is, down there by State Road 25. It's closed. Yeah, they've got a 65 South shut down. Yeah, so you know where the Shelby County Airport is. It's further down the road, like Steve just said at the exit where Clear is. And 65 South, once again, shut down, very close to what happened yesterday. Is there getting through there? Is there like a bump in the road there that's tipping cars over? I don't know.
what it is. But two ones in a row in similar spots. That's not good. How does this happen? Come on, people. Keep it between the lines. So anyways, if you're headed south, you want to maybe get off the interstate before you get down toward Kalira. Yeah, you do. Find another way around.
Alabama men's clinic, five, nine, eight, seven thousand. You can make that call today, make an appointment for later this week or early next week. Begin changing your life. There's a variety of options for treating your low T, your ED, your hair loss, your weight loss problems, a variety of options. Some doctors won't tell you that Alabama men's clinic will go over all of them and begin improving your life almost immediately. Five, nine, eight, seven thousand online, Alabama men's clinic.com.
633. Talked at 9.5. Talked at 9.5.com, Dixon, and Vining Nice Day in Store 64 for a high today, 67 tomorrow. And it kind of goes on like that. There's a little bit of rain in the forecast Thursday night, Friday morning. Some of it will be thunderstormy, but not
bad. Okay. Big backup down in Kalira on 65 South almost the same places yesterday, a little further south. And that is going to be going on for the foreseeable future because it's an overturned vehicle. Again, what is going on down there? Don't know what's happening, but it ain't good. No, it is not. So 65 South find a different route, maybe jump over on 31 while you can go for it and figure out a way around it.
It's time to maybe sell a used vehicle if it is a truck, if it is a SUV, if it is a four-door sedan. Hey, let's help you out here and get it sold quickly with the guys that are so knowledgeable about this. Our good friends, Craig and Keith at Birmingham Broker. They have been with us folks since day one. Huge talk, 99.5 fans. We're huge fans of what they do each and every day for you guys and really believe in what they do. And here's why. I took my car to Craig and Keith and they sold it very quickly.
I was just absolutely amazed at how fast that happened. Got it all shined up. A few scratches and dents in my vehicle. Those were gone. They made sure everything was right. Then they listed it. They found the buyer. They sold it, handled all the paperwork. I didn't have to do anything. And a few days later, Craig and Keith called me and said, hey, we got your car sold. Here's your check. And that was it.
How sweet is that? It's a great way to sell a used vehicle without getting ripped off if you trade it in because that's kind of what happens. You lose a lot of value in that vehicle. And right now used car prices, you guys know there's still sky high. This is a good time to sell a used car or truck or SUV. Go to bhambroker.com, bhambroker.com. All right, let's clear up some misunderstandings about what exactly is going on with the suspension of federal grants and loans.
First off, it has been paused by a federal judge. He put a hold on it, but that's not going to stay. It'll go because he set the date for it to come off as Monday. So there's not really going to be probably time to get all the paperwork done and everything, get in front of an appeals judge.
and turn this around. But Donald Trump absolutely, positively has the right under his executive authority to pause these grants and loans for 90 days and examine them and decide whether or not he wants money going to these things. Understand, these were all decided in fiscal year 2025, which began last October, which means the Biden administration was the ones who came up with all of this
Here's where we're going to send the money. That was their plan. They spread the whole thing out and said, we're going to send all this money out to all these different people. It's $3 trillion. Donald Trump gets an office and goes, whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's not send anything more out until we can see. Now, understand, SNAP is not going to. That's food stamps. It does not fall under this.
Wick does not fall under this. Medicare, Medicaid, social security, none of those fall under this. Any direct payments to individuals do not fall under this. These are particular loans and grants that go either to communities
to NGOs, non-governmental organizations, or in some cases, they're groups that, I don't even know if you can call them NGOs, but they're, you know, groups of people who are doing things on behalf of the government, sometimes within communities, sometimes within, say, a state government, okay? But they're, you know, this is all once you get discretionary money that was decided upon
by the Biden administration, and Donald Trump said we're gonna stop this. Now, why did he say we're gonna stop this? Because he got a good look at where some of this money is going. And it's insanity, some of it. Yesterday, I took a look at this. I'm not gonna bore you with the details, because it reads, you know, like stereo instructions. But I will say that the top six things that I saw were half a million dollar grants each,
for transgender studies here and abroad, and transgender facilitation here.
In other words, we're giving this group a half a million dollars so that they can help people transition from one sex to the other. That's not in the government's interest, okay? If you want to transition from one sex to the other, you do that on your dime. That's personal. That's on your dime. That's not on the federal dime. Not something the taxpayers should concern themselves with. More concerning were the next three that I saw.
anywhere from 400, 380 million to over 600 million dollars in each one of these cases was used and was applied to helping illegal immigrants either come here or settle in here. Hello.
now think about that but if you say it was just an average five hundred million dollars a piece that's three billion dollars three billion dollars that they were talking about putting directly into helping illegal immigrants come across the border what the hell or helping the ones who are already here get more comfortable
I don't want my tax dollars spent on that. Do you want? No, absolutely not. The NGOs that were responsible for this. Here's the thing. While Joe Biden was telling you the border is secure, we're doing everything we can. We're trying to shut this down. He was funding the entire process of getting illegal immigrants here.
This is the exact same thing he was doing in the Middle East where he was funding both sides of the war. And again, this is jaw dropping. This is so un-American. It is unbelievable what the previous administration did. We knew when Donald Trump won this election, Richard, it was going to take just a little bit of time. All of his people are trying to peel back this onion to figure out what's at the meat of this. This is just one of the many.
that what you just said about helping illegal immigrants come into this country. Not only did they have this other border wide open, but money was going toward helping them figure out how to get into the U.S. and how to take care of them and how they could probably apply for this or apply for that and get it.
When people in Buffalo and Chicago and New York and Denver were complaining about how do all these illegal immigrants get here? They love to say, oh watch, it's DeSantis and Abbott. They're busing up here. No, the Biden administration was flying people out of Texas
to those locations. They were trying to spread them out around the country because they couldn't have this massive concentration there in Texas. It would be abundantly obvious that something funny was going on. These were people who had no visas, had no passports. You couldn't tell whether or not they were, you know, safe to fly or not, but they were putting them on these chartered planes, chartered by the government of the United States or the NGO. A lot of money.
the non-governmental organization that was facilitating them, which is why one of the first executive orders Donald Trump signed there on day one was, hey, government, we're going to stop helping these NGOs. This executive order was, we're going to stop giving them money now. It's not just we're not going to facilitate them or work with them. We're not going to pay them anymore. And they're the ones who put up the biggest squawk and took it in front of a judge who said, well, we're going to pause this for four days.
If this does, if he does try to extend the stay that he put on this, it's going to end up in front of an appeals court. The appeals court is going to say, yes, the president has this authority. If it gets challenged, it's going to do the Supreme Court. And that's, that's a slam dunk. That's just a simple, it's literally, literally, it's right here that it says, yes, he can do this. You've wasted all this time getting the ultimate answer and the answer
They already know what it is. They're just stalling. That's what this is. It's an activist judge is what we're dealing with here. Well, this is the judge that this judge that ruled on it was, of course, appointed by Joe Biden. Needless to say, that's why that. Yeah, sure. It's just more of the same. It becomes judge shopping at that point. You're looking to get it in front of a friendly judge is going to, but you know, inevitably you're going to lose.
You know that in the long run, there's no way you're going to win this thing because it couldn't be planar in the language of the law, in the language of executive powers, article two, what you're allowed to do and what you're not allowed to do. It's all there and any judge worth his salt or her salt is going to be able to look at it and say, yeah, of course he could do that. Don't be stupid. I mean, we ran across this with the remain in Mexico policy when Trump instituted it the first time.
and they were like, you can't do that. And I'm like, no, he absolutely can. And it ended up having to once again go all the way to the Supreme Court because you had all these activist judges along the lines who just refused to apply the laws that was written. And the Supreme Court like nine nothing were like, yeah, there's our hands are tied. There's no way that we can
It's written right here. He can do that. And, you know, we heard about Doge and Doge trying to figure out where the wasteful spending is. And let's try to figure this out. In fiscal 2024, $10 trillion that the federal government spent more than $3 trillion of that was for federal financial assistance like grants and loans. $3 trillion. Yes. Let's look at every bit of this figure out where the waste is.
What's need? Maybe some of these are needed. Some of them, I'm sure are not. I'm sure there's lots of waste, but let's figure it out. Pair it down. And I think this is very smart on the part of Donald Trump. Let's stop it. Let's stop and see what in the world Joe Biden checked off on. And, uh, and he's eventually going to win this.
or the people who were handling yeah right right it's not joe but look they're gonna fight him every step of the way on every single thing he does like right now they're trying to slow down the confirmation process on his appointees we got our fk jr coming up uh... we have got uh... who's the other one tulsi gabbard uh... coming up and uh... you know i am of two minds on our fk jr i'm like on the one hand i'm like hate uh...
Trump likes him. He thinks he's the right guy to head HHS. On the other hand, I read the interview where he said there should be some means of jailing people who are global warming deniers, especially like media types. Hey, that's a little over the top there, you know.
Well, the guy was a diet in the wool liberal, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't agree with Trump on a lot of things. And I don't agree with him on a lot of things. He's one of the first people in any position of power to say, hey guys, these seed oils, not good for you. You really don't need to be messing with those. How can we have all this stuff in our cereals that they don't have in Europe? They seem to be healthier than we do. And I will say, aside from the pubs, I didn't see a lot of fat people in Ireland. You know there's something wrong.
When you look at like souvenir clothing, I bought a few t-shirts for friends and whatnot. And it's got a size that's like large. And then it says USA medium. You're like, really? And that wasn't just one piece of clothing. That was most of the clothing that I saw had one size for Europe and another size for the USA. And the size for the USA was always like, you guys would think of this as a medium.
That's pretty funny. Wow, that's sad. That's a little sad. Our larges become extra large and our extra larges become triple X. Yeah, pretty much. 646 with Dixon and Vining Parrot Structural 66826. They're the structural service company that I trust. Look, I had some folks come out and look at my house. I was trying to sell it. And they said, oh, you got foundation problems. There's all kinds of terrible foundation problems down here. This is awful. I need the management of foundation problems.
And I said, hey, Para Structural, come by and take a look at this. And they did. And they gave me a nice clean bill of health and a nice note that said that. And I was able to present it to the people who bought the house and say, look, this is a reputable foundation company that was very clear that said, you know, that
There was no problem here. Well, and to hold that house still standing today, looking as good as it ever did, it didn't collapse on itself. They were just trying to, you know, work me for a little bit of money, but I can trust that parrot structure is going to be honest. Every single time I talk to them, that was the second of three times that I have used them. And every single time they have come through like gangbusters, parrotss.com parrot structural services, their license, their bonded, their insured, their eVerify compliant, call them at 668 2626. Don Johnson.
Philip Michael Thomas, Edward James Omos, Miami Vice, or this is the G Gordon Liddy Show. Really? He used to use this as his theme because it's what gave him his acting career.
One fits, one doesn't. At one point, G Gordon Liddy was the third most listened to talk show in America. Yeah. Pretty good.
Well, talk was in its infancy. Yes, it was. 651, talk 995, talk 995.com, Dixon, inviting 64 for a high today, tomorrow, 67 rain tomorrow night. Yep. Big problems to 65 Southbound at Kalira. And we're getting word that there could be a fatality in that early morning accident. It is shut down, folks. 65 Southbound.
That really slows things down. Yeah, it's going to be a while through there. If that's the case. So find a different way around 65 Southbound at clear. That's your problem place this morning. Hey, blooming blinds and Birmingham. No problem there, folks. Man, did they make this absolutely a seamless process? You would love, love, love. You know, we were just talking about warmer temperatures over this weekend. And I'm telling you before, you know, at spring, we'll be here. You'll be back out on your patio or if you've got a portra deck. How about a motorized treatment for out there?
So, you know, there are certain times of the season where, yeah, there's some bugs and stuff like that. You could lower one of those motorized treatments. It's kind of like a screen thing and it raises and lifts and comes down when you want to use that remote and lower. It's pretty cool. Get in touch with Bloom and Blinds, let them come out and check out your patio porch or deck and install one of these so you can really enjoy those spaces of your home. Maybe it's blinds or shades or curtains that you need for your home or your business.
call them today. They come to you and they'll handle every single thing. BloominBlinds, Birmingham.com or give them a call at 205-649-5746. Do you know who, uh, Tiffany Hanyard is by chance? Tiffany Hanyard. Tiffany Hanyard. I don't think I do. That would be the worst mayor in America. She is the mayor of Dalton, Illinois. And this is
This is the woman who has been just spending lavishly on herself, the town funds, right?
She has been chastised, ridiculed. She raised her own pay to $300,000 a year. Oh, yes. I know you're talking about, yes. But then said, oh, but by the way, the next mayor, if it's not me, they only get 20,000. I mean, these are things that this woman has been involved in. And Lori Lightfoot, the former mayor of Chicago, by the way, started working for an organization.
uh, who does basically audits and things of that nature. It's, you know, that's what she has taken a, a position doing after her mayor ship there in, uh, in Chicago, Illinois. And so she was the one tasked with going in and doing kind of a forensic audit on what's going on there. And her report was made public yesterday.
It says, oh yes, they engaged in a systematic cover-up of the amount of money that was being spent on frivolous items that had nothing to do with anything. They took a surplus, they turned it into a massive deficit. I say they because it wasn't just Tiffany Henry, it was some of her underlings as well. Spending money on trips to Vegas, spending money on hair and nail care, because you know the mayors got to look good.
spending money on all kinds of clothing and jewelry and just racking. If she spent something like $80,000 in three days at Amazon.com on the city credit card and nobody can say exactly what it was she spent it on because she kept no records whatsoever or any receipts. Well, yesterday, Tiffany Hanyard was involved in a fight.
at City Hall. I mean, literally a physical altercation with one of the council. That's not surprising. What is the deal with some of these mayors? Why can't we get elected and get into these positions and do your job? And do your job instead of figuring out how you can scam everybody and get the money to buy personal things for you and your family and your
ants, and your uncles, and your cousins, and everybody else, this woman has no business being a mare, and neither did Lori Lightfoot. They were both terrible. Look, they got elected by their people. People wake up, quit putting people like this into office.
What's really ridiculous that Tiffany Andrew was. And you, by the way, announced the other day that she's running for reelection. I'm like, I don't think you get five votes, lady. I think everybody in that area absolutely hates you right now because not only were you abusive of your power, you were abusive to the citizens. You were like, y'all are just stupid and you need to stop being this way. Why are you attacking me? She understand that they're the ones that put her in the office, that their votes matter, that those are the people she's supposed to be representing, apparently not.
One has to wonder if she really does get it because my guess is, no, I don't think she does. I don't think she does. And that's so sad. It's that little bit of power thing we talked about. It is. And people in these communities, when you're going to vote for this person, know what you're voting for. Look them up. Do your research. Find out more about their past. What are they like? Would they make a good mayor?
I mean, 41 years old, this woman in Chicago, she's just having fun in there, spending money and doing her nails and getting her hair done and get her hair done. Get her hair done. Get her hair done. Get her hair did. I mean, it's just crazy. Here's the other side of that though, if you think about it. You know, you and I think about, I can't tell you the number of times I've been urged to run for some sort of elective office. I mean, throughout the course of now 30,
years good lord would you believe that february third i want to say will be thirty years in nineteen ninety nine is when i started uh... at ten seventy w a p i i've been working in talk radio now for thirty years that's a long time so occasionally people like a city council seats opening up you should run i don't want to do that you should run for a state legislature i don't want to do that i'm not interested you know why because
I would take the job very, very seriously and I know you would too. We would be like looking out for the constituents and making sure and we would be the people who work 12 and 14 hours a day. We would make personal sacrifices because that's the way we view what the people in those offices should be doing.
Tiffany Hanyard looked at the mayors and the governors and the presidents and those leaders. She just saw dollars. She just saw dollars. What she saw is, well, they get to do whatever they want. They drive in nice fancy cars and they get to, you know, spend all kinds of money on clothes and jewelry. It's like, babe, that's not how any of this works. But that's what was in her head. And so that's the kind of mayor she became.
And I think she's in for a rude come up unless she has an absolutely terrible opponent coming up, which happens sometimes. I was in New Orleans when the choice was between Edwin Edwards, Buddy Romer, and David Duke, or governor of Louisiana. There were three choices. I remember that. And in the preliminary election, which was held on the Saturday that I was there,
Buddy Romer was the one left out. He had the fewest votes, and so it became Edwin Edwards and David Duke, and sure enough, Edwin Edwards won the thing, and then not long after, was arrested for fraud and, you know,
corruption, malfeasance and all the things you would expect that went Edwards to be involved in. So yeah, absolutely insane the way this woman is behaving. I'll be interested to see, I've only seen like scratch the surface on this Lori Lightfoot report. I do have a sneaking suspicion that it goes much deeper. And if they can get in there a little bit and take a longer look, but look, if you had a company
And the CEO was like, well, I don't have to show you my receipts. I spent all this money and I'm not going to show you any of my receipts. You're like, no, you have to. I'm your boss. I own the company. You're my CEO. I need to see what you're spending money on. No, I'm not doing that. You'd fire that guy, wouldn't you? Absolutely. No heartbeat.
That's what we're dealing with now. Well, maybe this fist fight is what's going to put this right over the top. Maybe? I'd like to believe that. I'd like to believe that. Chicago, Chicago, get a little smarter. I mean, look. Elect people that are going to really represent you. When she was being scolded by the city council at a meeting, she played the race card. And the race card was, I can't believe, y'all are black and you're doing this to a black woman.
And it's like, I don't know if you notice an activity. Color has nothing to do with it. It's irrelevant. You're a terrible mayor. You're terrible at your job. You're cheating the citizens of this city. Black and black has nothing to do with any of it. But she thought she could get away with it under those circumstances.
