We're in it to win it, and I'm in it to go as hard as I possibly can every day to make sure that you clones get the best possible product every single day. Day one, fall in, let's freaking go.
The Jim Rome Show. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. Good morning, burning ham and a happy, happy Monday to you, 606 with Dixon and burning. I know the words happy and Monday don't generally go together, but today. Oh, it's happy. It's a new start. It's a fresh start. We're getting up today to 54 degrees. A little rain this morning, but that's going to move out. It'll still be cloudy, but 54. You know, after what we went through last week, it feels good, doesn't it? I was talking to a friend last night, and I said,
You know, the other day, no, it was a week ago. No, it was a week and a half ago. I said, you know, I don't know. It feels like Donald Trump has been president for a month. And she goes, I know. Because he's done so much in such a short period of time. He's boogying. He literally got more done in the last week than Joe Biden got done in four years. That's not an exaggeration, my friend. It's amazing. And so, you know, that deep freeze that we just got through,
That seems like a billion years ago right now. It does. It seems like a million years ago. 54 today, 57, tomorrow it's going to be sunny. How about clouds in 62 on Wednesday? I like it. Thursday, 60, Friday, rain, and 62. Yeah, by next week. And you get the shorts out, folks. Bring out the summer clothes. By next week, we could be in the 70s. Yes. 70s. Yes. I love it. In February. I love it.
Brace yourself. This is what happened in the year of snowmageddon, man. I looked at the 10-day forecast and we're good for 10 days, other than rain in the forecast. That's the 10 days. We're very short-sighted. What happened in late February, early March? Whatever. I'm going to say it. Nuclear holocaust. We don't care. It doesn't matter. 10 days. We're fine. We're good to go. By the way, this piece of breaking news just came down. He suggested it. Now he's doing it.
Donald Trump is reinstating all members of the military who were kicked out because of the not getting the vaccine. Yeah, very good. Reinstating them all with back pay. Nice. Now, it's not like, well, you have to reapply and come back in if you want to. It's like, you're in it. You want in, you're in. It's just that simple. Now, if you don't want in, you're in and now you have to do something to get out. Yeah.
But that's interesting because a lot of these guys may have already gone on and done other things. They may have already started other projects. They'd be like, I have to start separation paperwork or whatever. Okay, that's cool though. It's what should have been done immediately. There never ever, ever should have been a vaccine mandate on these people. There never should have been a vaccine mandate really on anybody.
It's insane to me that we ever had one given the fact that we now know and you know look you and I have talked about this I mean absolutely no disrespect to anybody who is using these products or is on these products. I just look at things like ozempic, sabbaglatides in general and I say I'd like to know more about that before I inject it into my body. We're really not sure
of the long-term effects of using this if you're not a diabetic. And it's a diabetic. And if you're a diabetic, you really, really need it to sustain yourself. The long-term effect is you stay alive. For people who are not diabetic and are using it for weight loss,
You know, we're not really sure how that plays out in, and when I say long term, I'm talking 10, 15, 20 years, we don't know what we didn't know about the mRNA vaccines when they first came out. And it was like, nope, everyone has to get that. We find out now that young, healthy individuals, such as the kind in the military,
Or the last people who should have been taking this. Having COVID would be vastly superior to getting this and increasing your risk of myocarditis by 300%. Yeah, but the thing is, when they first started this out, Richard, they panicked everybody because of the images of being on a ventilator. Oh, if you get really sick, you're going to go to the hospital and then your family can't come see you and then you're on a ventilator. Some people don't make it and you're like, what the heck?
I mean, people were scared out of their minds. And of course, what we found out was the average age of those dying of COVID was slightly higher than the average lifespan for a male in the United States of America, 77 for the average male to survive in America, 77 and a half the average age of people who died from COVID. Now that speaks volumes, okay? So yeah, I know they were panicking everybody. I always go to follow the money. I mean, it's not
It's not a coincidence that Pfizer was pouring money into the accounts, the campaign funds of people who were running for office, and that those very same people were lobbying hard to get this Pfizer vaccine into everybody's arms and saying, oh, you need two jabs. You need four jabs. You need six jabs, a dollar.
It's crazy. It is. Well, and let's hope that the lesson learned from this whole thing, and I know many feel like guinea pigs through this, that we don't make this error again, that we understand viruses and how they work and how this worked and what we needed to do and not do, keep it close to the best when we start dealing with anything like this again in the future. And I don't know that it'll happen in our lifetime,
But it will sometimes, or here is ugly heads. Something else will pop up. It's entirely possible. First off, I take offense of the term guinea pig. I prefer Italian American. Secondly, I ran across somebody at Walmart wearing a mask the other day. Oh, I saw that all. I saw it this weekend multiple times. So there are some people who are just, they're not giving this up. They are not going to give this up. They're going to hang on to this for dear life.
And it's like, okay, if that's what makes you feel comfortable, you go ahead and do that. As long as you're not infringing on my rights. You want to wear masks? Wear masks. I am fine with it. Hey, Granger, Thaggard, auctions would like to remind you that that piece of property, that undivided piece of property that has been left to you and your siblings,
And now you're getting older, and you're talking about, you know what? I think, here's what I got. Me and my two brothers and one sister over here, okay? And we got this one piece of property that our parents left us with.
I think I'll pass that on to my kids. I have three kids. One of my brothers has two kids. One of my other brothers has four kids. My sister has two kids. Great, you're going to pass this on and now it's going to be like eventually 17 people are going to own this piece of property. What are you doing? It's time to liquidate that. It is time to turn that into money. It's so much easier to divide money than it is to divide land. Plus,
If you have one member of the family that's like, hey, I'd really like to buy you guys out. Great. Let's have an auction. You can bid against everybody else, so we know we're getting the fair market value for this thing. And that's exactly what Granger Thaggart auctions does. You understand the sales date, you understand the closing date, the buyer pays the closing costs, and you're going because you literally have everybody bidding against each other. Look, even if you already have an agent to sell that,
Talk to your real estate agent about dealing with Granger Thaggard auctions, a free, no obligation meeting. Go to gtoxins.com, gtoxins.com to set one up, and they can talk to you about how your agent can make money, you can make money, everybody will make some money. This is going to be a beautiful thing, and that piece of property will now become cold hard cash in your hand. Isn't that what you want? gtoxins.com, check them out online and visit today.
And now it's Dixon and Vining's top three things you need to know today.
Hamas has released four female hostages as part of the Israel ceasefire deal. This is a very slow trickle that is taking place. However, it will supposedly, over a period of weeks, lead to eventually 33 hostages being let go by Hamas. And somewhere in the neighborhood of, I don't know, 300. And then some, was it? I think it's a 30 to one.
swap or something of that nature. So it's going to end up being like a thousand Palestinian prisoners that are going to be released as a result of what's going on here. The important thing is shooting a stop, the killing a stop, and Donald Trump released the two thousand pound bombs to Israel among his first acts quietly.
Last week, it was asked by the press. They said, are you going to let the Israel have those bombs? He said, yes, the 2,000 bomb bombs there on their way there. And the shock reporter said, why? And he said, because they bought them.
It's as simple as that. It's interesting that the four female hostages release. They're going to do some more, I think, on Thursday and then next weekend there'll be more. You think to yourself, could we speed this up just a little bit? Could we do it in a larger group? Could we have 10? Could we have 10 and then 10? Let's get done with this.
No, just here's four, here's three, and here's one. 200 Palestinian prisoners released, including 120 that were serving life sentences after being convicted of deadly attacks. You know, Israel, people talk about how terrible they are. Oh my God, they're not killing these guys. They're not putting them in the electric chair. They're not giving them the needle. They're just like you get a life sentence.
And then they, you know, of course, use them as bargaining chips under these circumstances. But how would you feel knowing that the person responsible for your loved one's death is getting out of prison and being sent back out? Yeah. Pete Hagg's not taking charge of the Pentagon. Changes that could be in store. The first thing we heard yesterday was all DEI is out the window. We want this stuff gone. There's not going to be any more training. We're going to hire the best person for the job regardless of
color, regardless of sex, regardless of sexual preference. We're not going to concern ourselves with any of that. We're going to get the best person for the job in every single situation. And we're done with that ridiculous training.
which is just wasting everybody's time absolutely it is so way to go peat congratulations today he hits the ground running over in the pentagon and that's a gotta be it's gonna be exciting but at the same time you're going from being uh... you know in the military to being on fox news and now you're in charge
3.5 million service members and civilians. Oh my goodness. There's no pressure there. But I think Pete can handle it. He just needs to get in there and see what's going on and figure it all out. Yeah, everybody who's like, he was unqualified. Doesn't really understand how the military works. You know, he was a captain. He left the military as a captain, which is a fairly decent rank. A guy, you know, he's two steps away from Colonel, but certainly had men under his command. And there's a classic
quiz that is given to second lieutenants. My brother told me about this as you are getting out of West Point. They say, okay, well, you've got a tree that is 60 feet tall. Branches have been shorn off of it. You've got a hole that is eight feet deep. You've got nine men and a sergeant. How do you go about putting up this flagpole?
And the answer for second lieutenants is you say, Sergeant, put up that flagpole. That's exactly what Pete Haggseth is doing. He's delegating. His job is to say, our number one priority, and he is making it his number one priority, our number one priority aside from turning this place back into a war fighting machine
And turning away from this DEI nonsense is to pass a damn audit. That's the first thing we're going to do. We're going to get this place in shape where when somebody audits us, everything balances out because it hasn't happened seven times in a row now. We're done with that. Yeah. I love that. I do too. I think a lot of people are going to love that because those are our tax dollars at work.
Uh, last but not least, South Dakota Governor Christie gnomes sworn in as Department of Homeland Security Secretary. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas did the honors. Originally, that was slated to take place at the Indian Treaty Room inside the Navy Department wing of the Eisenhower Executive Office building
It was postponed multiple times. It eventually took place just after 6.30 p.m. Look, if you're getting sworn in as the Department of Homeland Security Chief, you don't care if it takes place in the hallway, which I think it did. Doesn't matter. It's kind of like, just get my hand on the Bible. Let me say this thing. I want to get to work and start making things happen over here. And she and Pete, what's this damn homing? Tom Homing? Tom?
borders are they seem to be of one mind on this which is round about get them out when i start with the worst of the worst the criminals right the harden criminals or closing that border up and by the way as long as we're dealing with homeland security let's go back and take a look at the uh... what's what was with the pipedom uh... you remember jane is that twenty twenty one pipedom is that about those again take a good hard look at that disappeared can we take a look at those steps again real quick place
uh... mr bugs m r b u g g s dot com there your home security system when it comes to keeping the insects out the small rodents to you know we're moving from the freezing cold into some rainy now and uh... bugs don't like any of those things neither do rodents they would rather be in your home under your home if they're under your home in their breeding under your home they're all eventually get into your home it's just that simple and that is why you need to have mister bugs on your side taking care of business for you they uh... not just
take care of the business on the inside, but also the barrier down outside. And I realized the other day, I haven't had like a wasps nest or a hornet's nest anywhere on my property in years as a result of Mr. Bugs. Because the first time Dave, my guy showed up and saw one, he was like, ah, you got a wasps nest up here, I'm going to take care of it. And then it was small, it was still, they were just in the formation process. And he goes, I'm going to check the rest of the house and make sure. So we went around all the eaves over, hangs any place where a wasps nest
might be and got it taken care for me isn't that nice to have that peace of mind that i'm not fighting that battle i get somebody on my side who's doing it for me termite bonding as well m r b u g g s dot com statewide at eight four four m r b u g g s mister bugs they know what bugs you uh... godly and uh... cream i believe are the two main guys there in ten cc they later actually put out a song under their own name because uh...
They couldn't use the 10 CC name for one reason or another. But yeah, um, this one and of course, uh, big boys don't cry. I love Jamaican holiday is one of my favorite 10 CC songs, not a particularly well-known tune. 623, talk nine and nine five, talk nine and nine five dot com Dixon and vining with you on this rainy Monday morning. The rain shall move out and we're going to hit 54 today and the rest of the week looks just as lovely.
Not bad. We'll take it. Yeah. Much of the temperatures are more mild than we saw last week, and I know everybody needs a break from that. That's kind of nice.
And waking up this morning, if that back is bothering you just a little bit, it could be you got a mattress that has peaks and valleys in it, as we say, that parts of it, it sticks way up in other parts where you've been laying. There's just a big old valley there. When that happens, you're not getting the support and the rest that you need. Time for a new mattress in Lanius Furniture is ready to help you with that. Stearns and Foster Sealy and Tempur-Pedic, just some of the many brands that they have. And they have an entire area in their showroom. You can go over there.
Take a shoes off, jump up on one of the mattresses, test them out, and then pick the one you want to get at home and get it on your bed so you start having a good night's sleep. Lanius furniture, also known for great living room furniture and bedroom furniture, dining room tables and chairs, outdoor furniture. Yes, lazy boys. Oh my goodness. What a selection of lazy boys they have.
Head up and see him. It's a gorgeous showroom right off a highway 31 in Kimberly. Good people up there. John Reggie, the gang. They're ready to help you load it up if you've got a trailer or a truck or whatever it is. If not, they're happy to deliver it for you. Lonnie is furniture company dot com. All right. Weekend in the rear view mirror. Everybody have a good one there, Steve. Oh, you do anything exciting this weekend.
Exciting no had to take a toilet apart and replace all the innards. That took me about a little more than an hour. So it actually didn't take me as long as I thought it would worked out pretty well. I've done that more times than someone who's not a plumber should.
I've owned a lot of houses with broken toilets. That's not fun. It's just one of those things where, you know, over the course of time and the whole thing just kind of messes up and continues to run or, you know, intermittently runs. And I'm like, you know what? There goes that water. I'm really doing a whole thing. Seal problems. And they're done that too. Not fun. Yeah.
One time you do it, you're like, yeah, I don't really think I want to do this myself again. Then you feel the need to take like a super hot shower and scrub yourself with bleach. I touched things. I don't want to. And you finished my closet project. I'm digging it, which is let me tell you what that is. That's such a good feeling. Clean things out. Take it to Goodwill, the things you don't need. It was fabulous. And I really realized in this
room. It's kind of a guest room slash office slash workout room. You know, it's that kind of room. The carpet when I got there, somebody, somebody had some kind of animal in there. I don't know what. So the carpet needs to come out. So now I've realized that. So the next project, I went and looked at carpet this weekend because I'm going to get that pulled out, but a new carpet in.
or maybe some, I don't know, laminate floor. So that's next on the project now that all of that is done. I can't do carpet anymore, I've finished with it. I've got, I put laminate down in the master, I was real proud of myself, took up the carpet and pad in the master and put down laminate flooring, but it took me
one whole weekend and then I wasn't quite done and took another weekend because I didn't have time during the week. And I was like, I don't think I want to do that myself again. I think that day is done. This is why you pay people to do it for you. Yeah, I'm done. I mean, it was fun. And I was like, oh, that really turned out good. But I don't want to do that again.
The guys who did my bedroom did it in like two and a half hours. Yeah. See, I mean, everything was so good. Back was killing me. I'm going from there to the garage to saw the thing and cut it. And then, oh, it doesn't fit right. I'm like, I'm not doing this again. And I accomplished it, but too much time. That's what was great about this. These guys just came in. Bam, bam, bam, bam. It was over. Then they went to the bathroom. Same thing altogether. Three hours, 15 minutes. Sweet.
They had the corner round in everything. I don't know about you, but it's worth that now. Absolutely. Every dime. And it looked so much better than it would have looked if I had done it. I would have been just a little bit off on a couple of things that would have been there. And once you've done that, that's all you can see. Right. You can only see the flaws when you do it yourself, right? Absolutely. I know how that is. Yeah. So I got de-santified the rest of the home. The Christmas rings are in the attic. All right. The house feels big and empty now. Well, it probably feels like you got more room in there.
I have a lot more room in there, which is good. The trees are gone. No longer have 25 Christmas trees clogging the place up. And the dogs can now run to their heart's content. They run to their heart's content anyway. Bashing into trees was of no consequence to them. They didn't care. I did try to spend some time, like I said, cleaned up the office.
Um, because that was starting to get a little out of hand with a lot of paperwork just around and it's amazing to me that when I start picking stuff up and going through it, just how much of it is just garbage. I'm like, really? So I just set that there instead of throwing it in the can when I had the opportunity. Let's see if we can't do better with that. That was the other thing shredding.
just shredding. I'm like, what am I hanging on to 2000 taxes for? I'm like, shred these suckers. So I did a lot of shredding. I've got two big file drawers. That's the next thing I have to go through when I get a weekend, which I don't think is going to happen anytime soon. Every weekend in February is completely jammed for me with
social events or work events, things that have to be done. So I'm not gonna make it. I did on Netflix watch the movie Saturday Night, which is about the very first episode of Saturday Night Live. And the hour and a half that preceded it, it is factually hopelessly inaccurate. Because there was a lot of stuff that, a lot of sketches they were talking about, I'm like, that didn't happen till season four. Like I know enough about Saturday Night Live to know how wrong they were about a lot of things. But the spirit was great.
The guys who played the roles were epic. I mean, the Dan Aykroyd dude was a really strong Chevy chase, very strong. Jane Curtain was great. John Belushi was great. Garrett Morris was off the chain. The dude who played Garrett Morris was Garrett Morris. And his last name is Morris, but no relation. Absolutely astounding. Billy Crystal was supposed to be on the first episode. He got caught for time. The dude playing him was great.
I recommend it. It was fun. It was funny. It was entertaining. Just don't think of it as factually accurate, because not even close. 634. Good morning, everyone. It's Dixon and Vining at Talk99.5. That's...
Talk995.com. That's country music right there. That's what I hear some of those country music. That's what I think of. Yes. And I like some of the new kids that are getting us back there. You know, a few. It seems like there's a sway back and forth. You know, this Florida Georgia line? No. And then there's, you know, some of the speaking of which we do have a concert announcement coming up. It's not Florida Georgia line.
No, it is not. 805 will release that information and let you know who it is and right away give you an opportunity to win tickets for the concert. Oh yeah. Yes, so hang on for that. Birmingham Broker, this is where you want to go when it's time to sell a vehicle, a used car, a used truck, a used SUV, whatever it may be. Don't do it yourself.
I know your time is valuable. Everybody's got busy lives. Whatever may be going on in your life. Let Craig and Keith handle this for you. So you don't have to hassle with it. Excellent at what they do. I mean, just sit down with you for a couple of minutes as you bring your vehicle to them and let their mechanic take a look at it. They do the little research on the computer. There's a few things. They know what to do. They go there. They find the price.
You've already done your research too and you talk to these guys and you come to an agreement on what the car is the real value and they'll go to work for you and sell it for you quickly. Then you get a check in hand and then you can do whatever you want with that money. Maybe it's to parlay it into your next vehicle, which is always a good thing to do. So keep the value that belongs to you in that vehicle. Get it sold quickly, the used car or truck or SUV with Birmingham Broker.
Birmingham Broker in downtown Birmingham. That's where you want to go 22 24 fourth Avenue South and online at behambroker.com. Speaker Mike Johnson is inviting Donald Trump to address a joint session of Congress. And that speech is supposed to be taking place on March 4th, not technically a state of the union address because you don't do that when you've only been president for a few weeks. You can't really talk about the state of the union.
if you haven't been president for at least a whole year to say, all right, here's what we've managed to accomplish. But he was asked to come in and lay out his vision for America, what he'd like to see. I think he did a few of those speeches. That's what got it elected. Yeah, absolutely it did. Yeah.
You know, all the things that people were screaming at the top of their lungs for Joe Biden to do and that administration just ignored it and kept on down a path of not really accomplishing much at all if you really want to look at it. Oh, going in the wrong direction to be honest with you, although my favorite thing right now on social media, because today, literally, we're not even at the one week mark because that doesn't show up until noon.
Eastern time, 11 o'clock our time. That would be one week exactly that Donald Trump has been president. My favorite thing is all the people online and have been there for days. Oh, I see the price of eggs has come down.
in one week. That's your expectation. If that's your expectation, you're an idiot. I'm sorry. Well, I don't think there's a question about whether or not they're idiots. You know, look, if you've ever been involved in weight loss, as Valerie and I are both involved in right now, attempted to take off the pounds that we put on late last year.
You know, this is, it takes you quite a while to get up to the way you got to. It's not coming off in a week, say, well, open price, wages and lower. Okay. That's like being on a diet for a day and a half ago. Well, I'm not seeing any benefit here. I don't know this or this diet was a huge mistake.
Seriously, day and a half. Day and a half, you're having problem understanding that. And on top of that, there is the bird flu, so there is a shortage of eggs as well. Exactly. So that's raising the prices of the price of eggs right now because of that. Yeah, it's going to take a couple of years. And as I maintain, what little bit you're able to get inflation down is going to be as a result of bringing fuel costs down. I do believe Donald Trump can get gas back down around or just under $2 a gallon, again, and diesel back down.
as well, but that is going to take a little while to do because you've got to open up some drilling areas. You've got to get the oil companies to get excited about it. One of the things that I wish Donald Trump would do if he could do it is work to expand our refining capacity because, you know, having as much drilling as you want is great, but when you can't refine it into gasoline any faster because the refineries are working at top capacity and they're all full,
That's not helping you at all, you know? And I think part of that problem too is this, Richard, if you are in that business and you're talking about building refineries, you're like, okay, well, if I build this refinery, that's gonna take some years, right? And by the time I get to that point where I'm ready to build a refinery, Americans vote in somebody again like Joe Biden, God forbid. That's a fear. Then they go, no, we're not doing this now. Now you gotta shut it down. I mean, think about being in that business.
between these different administrations. You'd be like, you're on, you're off, you're on, you're on, kind of like the car manufacturers. That may be a little bit of why the supply of new vehicles is a little bit down because the EV mandate was coming through and, well, if you build gas, combustible engines, here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna mandate this. So fewer of those cars are sell because we're trying to push the EVs. So if you're in those industries, you're like, well, I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't.
What do you do here? You'll notice there were a few things that Donald Trump did during his first term that Joe Biden didn't undo. One of those was some of the tariffs on China, for instance, you know? He was like, yeah, that's probably a good thing we should leave those in place. So there are some things that the American people really take to to the point where it's like,
I don't think we're going to change that. Whoever comes in, if they try to implement an EV mandate, I think what you'll have is a huge number of American citizens go up in arms. You'll have a bunch of car dealers lose their minds over this and car manufacturers. And they have some pretty strong lobbyists that are going to be like, this is a terrible idea. We've been down this road. We were jamming it down our throat. It didn't work before. It's not going to work now. You need to stop this. This is terrible.
So, yeah, but here's what I think when it comes to refining gasoline. I think it would probably be easier to expand the capacity of the existing refineries than it would be to try to build a new refinery from scratch, because there's a lot of EPA stuff that goes into that. There's a lot of
you know paperwork and red tape and whatnot even if you do your best to slash through it there's still going to be a ton of it so saying all right well we can probably cut back on the paperwork when it comes to expanding and you can't double but if you could increase the you know refinery capacity by even twenty five percent in some of these refineries you'd be amazed at how much more gasoline that would be coming out which would automatically lower the price and and then
These guys, the drillers, the wholesalers, and eventually the retailers, they're making up for this in volume. They're selling more of it. It's at a lower price. The profit margin stays about the same, but they're selling much more, which means that they're going to make a larger profit in the long run, which is really what you're after. If you're in business, maximizing profit is what you're all about. Yes, serving the public, but only to the point where it actually maximizes your profit.
And that is what they are, I think, working on now and what needs to be done. But in the meantime, just kind of assuring the oil companies, guys, I'm going to be here for a while. The plan is for JD to take over over here. Ron DeSantis or somebody is going to come in, and they're going to have the same vision that I have. You know, we're going to make things so good that the American people would be crazy.
to vote against what we're doing here. By the end of four years, people are going to feel like they did at the end of Reagan's first term, which is going to be damn, things are great. What are we doing? I'm making more money. I got more in the bank. I've got more net worth than I've ever had.
Prices are reasonable. Here we are. This is what we're looking for. And then they're going to go, let's vote for more of the same. So yeah. Let's hope that's it. But like you said, so many people have short-term memory and they forget, they will forget how bad the four years of the Biden administration was. Oh yeah. You and I won't. Our listeners won't. There's plenty of Americans out there that aren't paying that close attention going,
You know what? We really were a whole lot better off with Donald Trump. Let's do more of that. Let's have another four years of someone similar to Donald Trump. Maybe that's JD Vance, whoever it may be. But, you know, just sit back and watch what he's going. I mean, again, we're not really a full weekend of this yet. And look at what this man has already done. Yeah. I mean, it's just, it's incredible. He is a whirling dervish.
as it were. And there are, of course, his detractors, people who are still calling him a Nazi and saying, we're going to be in serious trouble. And these are people who don't understand economics. These are people who don't understand how most of America works. They just have the Trump derangements. Oh, they made up their minds. Yeah, there's nothing right. He could, you know, he could do everything 100% correct in a positive way for our country. And they'd still glom on and say what a horrible person is.
Anything he says and does must be bad because I've made up my mind he's a bad person and that's all there is to it. That's all that matters. Consequently, he must be a bad person. Speaking of bad people, Paul asks this, thoughts on MLK being a communist and a rapist.
This is, of course, from the Martin Luther King Jr. file on his assassination. That was declassified last week. As I suspected, folks who have gone through the JFK and the RFK assassination files and the MLK assassination files are coming up with nothing new. I said that if you think there's going to be some earth-shattering information in there that blows your mind
you're in for a surprise. It's going to be a lot of very dull reading, and that's exactly what it is. Except this Martin Luther King, Jr. file, where they go on this rampage through the file, excoriating him and telling us all just what a horrible human being he was. I want you to remember
that this was put together by a government that saw Martin Luther King Jr. as an enemy, a horrible enemy who had to be quashed. How dare he demand civil rights for African Americans? We've always done things this way. They've always known their place. Who does this guy think he is?
So they were throwing everything, including the kitchen sink into his file. And I would caution you to take it with a grain of salt. I suggest to you that a huge amount of this is questionable, if not outright lies, because their goal was to try to taint MLK Jr. and make him out to be a terrible human being, because he was a threat to the way things have always been.
much like Donald Trump. I was just about to say that. I mean, you think about, you know, the things that have happened to Donald Trump, the things that have been said about him. Some of this will be in history books and people, some will read it and go, well, he was a terrible guy. He was a fascist and he was a Nazi and he was all these other things. Really.
Or he cheated on his wives and he did this, that and the other thing and he had to pay people whatever. You know, in the same way that people were terrified and are terrified of Pete Haggseth taking over the Pentagon. And so they tried to tarnish him as best they could. He went from a questionable sexual assault claim that no charges were filed on because the police didn't find them at all believable and drinking at parties
to well he's clearly an alcoholic who abuses women and he's a rapist and you're like whoa whoa that was a huge reason a guy has a few too many at some work parties who hasn't seen that and uh... there's one woman who claims that he sexually assaulted her and cannot make it stick to the point where you know detectives are looking at it going lady we just don't believe your story it doesn't add up
And somehow that turned into rapist and raging alcoholic. You know, this is what they do when they're threatened. And their way of doing things is threatened. They hate that. And they hated it under Martin Luther King Jr. Them darkies, they got to stay down. How dare you suggest that they should be equal to the white man. You should be ashamed of yourself. He's a communist. He's a fascist. He's having sex with all kinds of women. I wouldn't be surprised if you find somewhere in the Rees gay. Whatever it is, they're going to do whatever it takes to try to talk
I hear it is all these years later, you know, these documents are now released.
Is anyone surprised that some of this is in there? I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised in the slightest. And I'm not saying that he did those things. I'm just saying. I'm not saying that he did do that because he may have, but I will tell you that those who were in power at the time were going to put the absolute worst spin on anything they could about Martin Luther King Jr. because he was a threat to their status quo and their power and they hate that.
Alabama tree pros three oh eight four one five eight you need some guys who are going to come out and treat you right take that tree down and do it with a plum that's right i said a plum well most of the time they use a saw but a plum as well they have a lot of sauce as a matter of fact longest chainsaw i've ever seen in my life i i don't know it got to have been
five or six feet long and experts at wielding these things as well. Taking the limbs down and then they take it down from the top and little by little, the whole thing is disposed of.
Driven away, grind up that stump, it's like the tree was never there. If you want to leave the stump, you can leave the stump. If you just want the tree trimmed, they can just trim it. However you want to do it, they are, you know, everything you want, they got the insurance, their bond, their license, everything you could ever possibly hope for all stapled right there to the back of your estimate.
And the best thing about that estimate is what's on the front, which is a lower price than the other guys. Okay. Check them out. Alabama tree pros, three, oh, eight, four, one, five, eight, online. Alabama tree pros.com, the late, great Helen Reddy right there.
Man, that's a polished voice. Brownsville, Texas. Brownsville, Brownsville, Texas, right down there at the very tip of Texas. I was offered a job there once. I could not turn it down fast enough.
I've been through there one time. Yeah. Yeah. What were you doing? It was headed. Were you trafficking cocaine? No. It was actually when I was playing tennis at the University of Alabama. We went through Brownsville and then went to Gillies. Oh, yeah. Oh, that was fun. That's an awesome. Oh, that's an Dallas. Dallas Fort Worth. That was a lot of fun. I drove by Gillies. It had already closed, but it was still there. Big sign and everything was like, that's where they shot urban cowboy. I'm like, I never saw it.

Green garage, good guys, good people. You'll enjoy working with them, and they'll take good care of you. 383, 2009, 383, 2009, or greengaragebham.com. Super Bowl licks is set. Yes and Diddy.
59. L-I-X. Can you believe that? Super Bowl 59? 59. Wow. It is going to be the Eagles and the Chiefs. Eagles just absolutely mopped the floor with the commanders. Chiefs eking by the Bills. Really close game. Of course questionable call. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. You know. Any of the teams here in the Rebschitz left the Chiefs and got a video of whatever. Is that how they sound? Yeah, 32-29, it was close.
very, very close and sorry about that Bill's fans. Maybe next year you've got a lot of the good pieces in place. You're rooting for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. I've got to go with the Eagles. No offense chiefs. I know you've got a great team there. I'm just kind of tired of you. Steve, same thing. Yeah, I'm going Eagle. Yeah, I'm going Eagles. I don't care.
I honestly do not care who wins this game. If I had to pick between the two Eagles, yeah, absolutely. But I, you know, this is the great about it. This is the worst of the Super Bowl matchups you could possibly get. You know, it's just like, oh ho hum, you know, if the bills were in it, that would be exciting. Yeah.
if the bills and I don't know some other team that was, you know, way out of the, like, if you go all the way back to the Rams or, you know, the Vikings, obviously, you'd be talking about some really good stuff. We talked about potentially a bill's a lions match up at some point. That would have been cool. Yeah.
I like to see the Packers get back there one day. I like to see the dolphins get back there one day. Of course you would. Yeah. We're going back to the Merino days. That was the last time they even made a Super Bowl. Sad but true.
I mean, in my lifetime, please, come on, get there one more time. One more time. Good gracious. Well, the good news is your mom is turning 90 soon, so you have got a long life. Maybe. In front of you. I don't know. I haven't lived in my life the way my mother really takes good care of herself. I don't think I've done as good a job. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. You and me are in that category. I appreciate that. I mean, the longevity is in our family, but I just don't. People say that all the time. You go live to be 103. I'm not sure about that.
all right well we'll keep you up to date it's two weeks from uh... two weeks from yesterday and february ninth super bowl and all ends uh... so listen we've got a new feature here this is going to be something that we're doing on a fairly consistent basis uh... because we want to inform people
about a lot of people, you know, as radio is kind of fading, you know, more people are turning, and we've got an app, which is great, and we've got podcasting, greetings, people of the future. We've got websites, all that stuff, so people can listen a variety of ways. But, you know, radio is really a part of history. It's a very important part of history, and so we're beginning a new series that is going to air with some regularity here on the Dixon and Vining Show to help educate the public about the history of radio. Here we go.
Before there was the internet. Before there was TV. Radio brought the world into our homes. From the very first commercial broadcast. And here are the presidential tickets that are being voted on. Republican, Warren G. Harding, Democratic, James M. Carr. Two exciting moments in sports. Oh, and Schmilling is down. Fight is over. I'm a technical knockout.
to frightening moments, like the crash of the Hindenburg. It's a terrific grace, ladies and gentlemen, all the humanity and all the fans. The more recent harrowing disasters. That stink bug in the studio everybody, you just crawled that way.
He's probably that way over there that in that do you see what I'm pointing my finger? No the claim the microphones on the other side of this is a huge It's just hang on probably fell down. Oh, there you go. It's crawling up the arm of the microphone. Oh, yeah, he's on this side now You up you just flicked him to the other side
He's gone. It's over now. She's on it. Crisis averted! If it's important, talk 1995, we'll bring it to you as it happens. We did not make it work! As you can see. Sound effects of the book. Not a very important thing. And then I flicked it, wink. I put it in the ring. John Bell, I love you, man. That's some funny stuff. Thebadfree.com, if you'd like to hear more of just that kind of nonsense.
Thebadfree.com. You're really brilliant. No one else enjoyed it. I did. Thanks. That's all that really matters. As long as you enjoyed it. Oh my goodness. Yes. Stinkbug in the studio is last week. The thing about the stinkbugs, they're weird because it's like a barracuda. They're not there one second. The next thing you look and they're there and you're like, how did you get there? We didn't see you fly in. Did you drop in out of the world? I mean, where did they come from? It's like they're beaming in like Star Trek.
It's so straight. They're from another planet. Like, you know, usually you see a bug fly in somewhere. They're crawling up the wall. These just like appear at a nowhere.
A lot of good stuff coming up at the next hour. Donald Trump firing 17 inspectors general on a Friday night. Stakes that are supposedly better than Outback and the outrage over the Tuskegee Airmen falling out of favor at the Pentagon. That's of course nonsense. We'll dig into all of that and more in the next hour. Dixon of mining, talk that in on five.
Actor Michael Rosenbaum, he knows some of the most talented people in the business. Let's get inside of Kevin Smith, who's a great house. Who knew? Playing Lex Luthor would pay this well. Now I want to see Gene Hackman's place, John Krier's place. None will be as cool. And let's get inside of the great Tom Hopper. I always love it when you have these long form conversations, because you know you do these press talks. There you come with this energy, the host. What's it like? So it's like, and I just love just having a normal conversation, and that's sort of what the podcast is.
The Inside of You podcast. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. Hey there, I'm Paula Pan, host of the Afford Anything podcast. I help people make the smartest money decisions possible. How should that money get invested? Why value? Why not growth? We're gonna answer all of these questions. All of them? All of them!
from investing strategies and the thing about tariffs to economic trends and beyond. In one episode. In one episode. Can you believe it? I gotta ask for a raise. What's 5% of zero? Oh crap.
