We have my dear friend, one of my really, really close, amazing friends, Kimberly Snyder on the show. I was actually a fan of Kimberly like way back in the day, like 2011 before I even had my blog or brand or anything. And it's been so cool to become close with her and raise our kids together and
spend some time together in Hawaii and obviously a lot of time in LA. Kimberly is an eight-time author. She's literally amazing. She's a three-time New York Times best-selling author, and she is the author of the new book, The Hidden Power of the Five Hearts.
So although we could have talked about basically anything and everything today, we mostly talked about the heart and the hidden power of the five hearts, which was fascinating to me. So basically, if your mind feels like it's always on the go, or you feel overwhelmed, stuck, stressed in,

And I'm so proud of your most recent book, The Hidden Power of the Five Hearts. You have so much to teach us. Thank you, love.
Thank you. Let's start by having you introduce yourself or reintroduce yourself to the audience and just tell us a little about you. Yeah, so my name is Kimberly Snyder. It sounds funny talking about yourself, but a time author, this book.
I had to say the Hidden Power of the Five Hearts, Jordan of all my books, this one really impacted me the most in the writing. This cracked my heart open, this awakened my heart. This is the one that I feel ties together all the different parts of lifestyle. I've written about nutrition in the past. I've written about Ayurveda, yoga, spirituality in different ways.
But when I started learning about this heart coherence and this work around awakening our hearts intelligence a few years ago, I've been on a deep dive the last few years. I also have a wellness brand called Saluna. We have digestion products and courses. And I also have another podcast that you've been on called the feel good podcast.
Yes, you do so much and you're a mom of two. And you always inspire me so much because you create so much. I mean, you've written eight books. You work incredibly efficiently and you've never had a nanny, right? Is that still true? Yes, I've never had a nanny. We have help with cleaning.
Sometimes she'll fill in if I'm shooting a podcast an hour here or there, but I've never had a nanny. One thing I'll say is that my schedule has really shifted. With my first few books, I was living in New York City before I had kids. I'd be up really late writing. Now I'm early to bed, and most of this book was written three to six in the morning.
Really? Yes, where there's quiet, and I would just sit in that forest. I wrote most of this book in Hawaii, whereas you know, you've been to our place in Hawaii, and there's this forest and a little writing cabin, and I would just sit and get quiet, and I feel like with the subject of the book is about, which is really aligning your heart to your brain, your nervous system. When you get really calm, it doesn't have to be as arduous. It doesn't have to take as long.
for things to come about, for creativity to come. There's a deeper alignment inside that happens when you really awaken this heart brain. So yes, there's a lot happening and being created, but this book felt really useful actually. And yeah, my whole schedule shift, I would go to bed more with my kids, I get up, so I would be able to write before they would wake up.
That's so impressive. I cannot believe you would wake up at three in the morning. Is that easy for you or is your body exhausted at that time? I loved it. I have to say that there's something in the early mornings for me before you start getting emails and texts and things are coming in. So now it's just been such a shift in my lifestyle, like from New York.
to with my client work move to LA. That's what brought me here. And now we live in a quiet part of LA. And now we have an even more rural place in Hawaii we go to. So for me, I really love the stillness. I'm drawn more to that than the bustle and the big crowds. So I like the mornings. But it took me a journey to get here. I've gone through phases of my life where I've been partying and all played and doing a lot of night stuff.
I can't even imagine you that way. I know you in this era of your life. I know. Well, I too love the 3 a.m. time, but that's before I go to bed sometimes. So that's how much of a late night person I am. I love how quiet it is. I love that nobody's bothering you or like you just, like you said, you're not getting any emails. You can just be in your thoughts. It's amazing. But I've had to shift, of course, to having kids.
trying to go to bed before midnight for me as a feat. Really? Well, what's amazing and about the heart being the main biological oscillator of the body, right? So it's the rhythm setter. So I feel like as I've gotten more in my heart, it's reset this rhythm.
Right? So the mind is always spinning and going and these heart stages. So it's called the Hidden Power, the Five Hearts. There's five heart stages that we all go through to awaken into our full power. And this has been written about in the Vedas, in the ancient texts. It also corresponds to the science of heart coherence. So if you look at some of the earlier stages, we can get into them more. But the propelled heart is when we're sort of
in this modern life, right? Always on one thing to the next, juggling a lot. And I feel like I spent a lot of my life there. You know, just the next thing, next achievement, plan, supposed to be married and have two kids by the time you're 32 should be making this much money by a certain point. So it's this pace that can lead to burnout and stress and just break down of the body. And so now as I've learned more about this incredible science and the teachings, I just feel like
It's affected all areas of my life, including the pace, including my rhythms, my digestions improved, my energies improved. Like I said, there's a lot more easefulness in getting things done, my relationships have improved.
That's amazing. The rhythms reminds me of Waldorf, our kid's school, which you've inspired me to have Addie go to Waldorf and they're all about the rhythmic way of life. So we think about this rhythm of the heart, right? And usually we think of the heart just like this mechanical pump. But what the science shows is that the heart is actually a brain with 40,000 neurons. And so it's sending more messages to the brain up here than vice versa.
So as moms, when you go in for an ultrasound, you see the heart is coming before the brain in our head. But it's not just a mechanical pump. It's not just this mechanical rhythm. There's an intelligent language that your heart speaks. And so when you get into coherence, which is, again, the book teaches tools that are scientific and energetic and spiritual. This is a place where it really corresponds as the heart, the intersect, the rhythms,
Realign, and I'm talking also about the rhythms of your thoughts, where so much of us live and past and future, that hurry pace, always comparing or judging ourselves or others, low thoughts, insecurities, self-esteem issues, just so much in the head.
So this pace of the heart, there's this really deep grounding and this calmness when some of the research in the book shows that it changes your hormones. One month of doing these practices was shown to reduce cortisol 23% increase DHEA, which we need for vitality and fertility 100%. So back to what you're saying, the rhythms.
permeate our lives hard as the main biological oscillator has the power to change our physical health, our thoughts, our emotional well-being, and our relationships. Every part of our life is affected. So cool. How did you get into this? What was the first spark of inspiration on this topic?
So I've been getting that question a lot because it's, you know, I never sit around Jordan. You know, you and I have spoken about this. The creative process for me is never, hmm, what am I supposed to write about next? I wait for that spanda, that real spark, as you said, that inspiration. So when I was researching my last book, which we also chatted about here on your show, it would have been 2022 or 2021, I guess when I was writing it, I came across a piece of research around the heart that made me
really do a triple take, right? Because I said, this is my eighth book. I've been working in wellness for 14 years. And I said, whoa, I can't ever knew this. And it was about how the heart has its own independent nervous system, how there's this measurable heart field outside of us, eight to 10 feet from the body.
that is literally influenced by our level of coherence. So our harmony, even our emotional state, is broadcast out of this field. So I started to take this deep dive. My first thought was, how do I not know about this? And I was like, maybe let me learn more about it. And then it quickly turned into, everybody needs to know this.
500 research papers about the heart brain, about how it elevates our gut health, how it creates this clarity, and this just deeper resilience, ability to avoid stress, ability to revitalize our immunity. It was just blowing my mind, Jordan, because I've been working on wellness, doing healthy eating, doing yoga, all the things for well over a decade, more like a decade and a half almost.
And I never knew about this. So I was taking a deep dive in the science, and we ended up doing a science study, a research project with the HeartMath Institute, which we can talk about in a moment. And at the same time, I was going into the spiritual ancient texts about the heart.
And what was amazing was that these Vedas, the Vedas, which are the oldest texts, talk about these five heart stages. Swami Sri Yukteswar, who brought Yogananda brought Yogan to the West, and he was his guru, wrote a book called The Holy Science, where he maps out these five hearts, and he talks about these are the stages that we go through to come into our full potential. And I found that these heart stages, the spiritual stages, also corresponded to this science.
And so it was just blowing my mind. I was doing the science. I was reading the text. And then I was also learning about how the Egyptians and the Babylonians, the Greeks all believed the heart is a gateway to our highest potential, not just a physical organ, but there's some sort of energetic portal in the heart. And many of us have sort of
You know, thought maybe considered this or felt this, but it really is this convergent point in the science, in all world religions, too, by the way, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, the Anahata chakra, Hinduism, yoga, Buddhist heart sutra, the word kalv, which translates to heart, mentioned 132 times in the Quran.
the word Lev, which translates to heart in Hebrew mentioned throughout the Torah. So in this world where there's so much confusion and separation and stress, I really feel like the heart is this missing piece for so many of us. It was for me in really tying together all aspects of our lifestyle into feeling, not just checking things off the box, getting to the next, always striving, but to feel really whole.

My mind is going into a million places thinking about the connection between the science, like you're saying, and what they had written about in the ancient text. You must have just been going wild with this information, just finding all these synchronicities. Speaking of synchronicities, love, can we go through the heart stages? Because one of the things that happens, well, I'll say the part about synchronicities, because it's something that we can actually
train and improve. So the amazing thing about this work, as I mentioned, there's a science to it. There's a process to it. The tools in the book are evidence-based. We did our own research study on one of the practices, and it was shown to increase coherence 29% in four weeks, plus the eight minutes, practice four times a week. And again, coherence is the sinking up of your heart, your brain, and your nervous system. So this is where you have more health, more efficiency, more flow. Dark as in we don't see.
Okay. So imagine if this room is completely dark and you're trying to move across the room, trying to move across life, you don't see, you could hit your arm, you could fall down and hurt yourself, maybe you hurt someone else. So this is what it feels like in this stage, which is known as incoherence and science. So your heart and your brain aren't speaking properly, right? There isn't good communication. So this is where you feel in your life a lot of fear, overwhelm, overthinking, low energy, lack of purpose, lack of clarity.
So then a little bit more energy grows, let's say you make a lifestyle change or you do something a little differently. And now there's more energy, there's more coherence, so heart and brain start to talk a bit more. Now you're in the propelled heart, which is that stage I mentioned earlier, which is still.
very externally focused. So what do people think of me? What do I look like on social media? Is my life, you know, successful by other people's standards, always on, burnout, comparison, restlessness, no peace? So there's more energy, but there's still a lot of inflammation, got issues.
So then you come, you increase your coherence through these teachings and tools, and you start to come into the steady heart. And this is really powerful because now you start to feel more anchored in yourself. So this means instead of being so attached, this person has to like me. This project has to work out. This relationship has to work out. You start to feel connected to yourself. You're more in coherence. So then you flow more with life. You're like, Oh,
This person didn't want to date me again, it's okay, there's this other situation, this, this. So you start to have more vitality, you start to have more intuition, and you just start to feel more, less fear. Safety comes inside.
And then stage four is the devoted heart. This is where we're not just anchored inside, but we start to feel more devoted to the heart qualities. So what matters is this moment, connection, peace, kindness, love, before you just rush through to the meeting. So you might not let someone into the intersection, but now you're present, right? The checkout person at Target, you can really be kind in these interactions instead of just transactional. This is a stage where intuition really grows.
This is a stage where emotional intelligence really grows. That heart field I mentioned is so strong and coherent. I want to show the visual. I want to see that things tend to actually work out better. Even you're not pushing your way. You're not trying to just make it happen. You're in a really high state. This is what it looks like, page 45. That's so cool.
So this is measured by magnetometers, sensitive equipment that measures electromagnetic fields. It's not just, oh, feel good. You actually can measure this. This is a scientific truth. So as you become coherent and it grows, your field gets stronger, which means in scientific terms, you actually become more magnetic. Yes.
So that's why the devoted heart, you know, you're kind, you're loving. And at the same time, people are drawn to you. Hey, I don't know what it is. What are you working on? I'd love to help or I'd love to ask you out on the date. If you're looking for love, there's this natural magnetism.
totally. And we all know those magnetic people, like with their strong energy fields around them and their open hearts. And around them, exactly. This extends eight to 10 feet away from out of the body. So this is energy that can be felt. So as your perceptions of life change, right, the heart brain expands.
So this emotional intelligence, you can start to see more what people are really trying to say instead of just, you know, ego and mind is like small thoughts, literal. You start to be able to connect to, to just find win-win solutions. And then also how people perceive you changes to your point energy can be registered.
And then the fifth heart stage, the last heart stage is the clear heart. And you think about clear, it's like water, right? You see through. What's the opposite of clear? It's like the dark, the dense. To go from the dark to the clear, it makes sense. So dark is, you dance like way down with old ideas.
fears, old triggers, wounds, trauma. So your heart allows you to blast through a lot of patterns, sometimes in quantum leaps. So you get to this heart stage. Or do we have moments, right? If you're looking into your child's eyes, you're doing the dishes and not really thinking.
It is attainable, what we want to spend more time there. And this, Jordan, this is the field where it's transparent, so it's all hearts. You start to feel connected to all hearts. So this is in yoga, samadhi, oneness. And when you start to step into this field, this is where the synchronicities are. This is where the so-called miracles are. And I have an amazing story I can share about this to show how it's really possible.
I want to hear, but also I want to know which stage do you feel like you're in right now? So I feel like now, because I've been doing this work for some years, I feel I spend a lot of time in that devoted heart.
Again, there are the moments where I feel the dark hard energy, all of the propelled heart like, oh, you know, timelines, you know, I have to make this happen. You kind of go back into that stress response or I'll see something or someone will say something, oh, my gosh, like, that's scary. I don't want that to happen. Fear.
But then with these tools, instead of sort of ruminating in those thoughts, or getting dragged down, or the past would be extended, or I'd have to talk to my best friend for hours and hours to feel okay, now there's a self-reliance of, you know, in some of these tools, the heart-aligned harmonize and life practice. You're doing three to 10 seconds. So I have this awareness when I'm in incoherence, and then I can come back, come back faster and faster. It's amazing. Okay, I want to hear the story.
Yes, and then I'll tell you, there's so many stories. I'll say, Jordyn, because you know my husband, Jod. Yes. But when we talk about the great story, I want to talk about how this is so practical in daily life. So much love, as you know, we fell in love, we got married within two months. That is such a cool spot. Five and a half years ago. But then there's daily life, right? There's, oh, like the friction of, you know, just living, maintaining a house, having two young kids, like lots of things.
So we got to our place in Hawaii this is a few weeks ago. This is a great example. And I like clean, no clutter, and there's all these boxes there. You love stuff. And sometimes he'll unpack and he'll just leave it. So after the long trip with the kids and the plane ride, I look at the boxes, I get to the porch first, and I said something kind of snarky or sharp. I was like,
more stuff and it hit on his trauma, which is control. It got on to be controlled. So then he goes back, I'm allowed to get what I want. So in the past, I'm telling you, before I had these tools, Jordan, it would have gone down this like little jabs at each other. After a long travel day, it could go on for an hour all evening. The kids would feel it. It's just this tension. So in that moment, I was literally on the porch and I just
went into my heart, and we can talk about some of these practical tools in a minute, but I literally went in and I did the coherence practice. Three seconds.
And then you started coming on the porch and I turned to him, Jordan, and I said, I'm sorry, like, I know that sounded snarky, but I would really love it. It would be amazing if you would really put away the boxes after you unpack, right? So it's clear. We're speaking from the heart. So you are expressing your needs. Being in the heart doesn't mean, oh, I'm going to be a, you know, punching bag or dumb, dull myself down. So I said my needs and you know what was amazing.
He put the boxes away. So in the past, we've been like, oh, she's nagging me again. And I'd be like, oh, he's disrespecting me by leaving clutter, like just the ways the ego goes to battle. But from the heart, when you turn around the heart brain, it's clear, it's powerful. You get your needs met. Right. So I would say in everyday life, my relationship with my husband, not kidding, is 90% better.
That's amazing. This is emotional intelligence. This is a real connection, which happens from the heart. We can all take a page out of that book, and that's so funny, because I'm the John, and Jonathan is the Kimberly, where I'm the stuff collector. I have all the boxes.
so many things and memories and all the things and Jonathan is a minimalist and he likes things to be very neat. And if he ever tells me, which is every day, by the way, like, can you please finally clean out that closet? I'm like, I don't have to do anything. You tell me to do like, in fact,
Just because you asked me to do it, I'm not gonna do it. It's a pattern. It's a pattern and I know that's the lower vibration, that's when we're tired, that's when we're snipping at each other. But the moments where he's truly from his heart, this means something to me, it makes me feel loved when you clean up the boxes and everything. But of course I wanna do that for him and that's from the higher place.
So even now while we're speaking, right? If you put your attention on your heart, you need not to touch your heart, but if you place some of your attention on your heart and for everyone watching this and listening, I just want to show how accessible these tools are. So this is a preliminary practice and there's no other techniques that build on this. But just this alone, while we're speaking right now, if you put attention on your heart, this alone, Jordan, was found to rewire your nervous system.
Just focusing on your heart, this is how powerful we all are. This is research published in the American Journal of Cardiology. We hear these ambiguous terms like, be in your heart, speak from your heart, but what we're talking about in this book is the actual evidence-based tools to change your heart field, to open up these pathways. Neuroplasticity isn't just up here in your head, it's also the pathways between your heart and your brain.
So what we're really doing when we do these heart coherence tools is we're awakening the heart brain and then we're changing the input from your heart to your brain and your amygdala, amygdala is where we, you know, a store of reactions, past memories, emotional, you know,
connotations to things. This is why we're living out the same patterns over and over again, picking the same person, having the same food cravings, struggling with work or whatever it is. When you go into your heart, now you're changing the input signal. Just like in this example with our husbands, you change your perception. My perception shifted in that moment to
peace matters more. And I could see how, if I keep doing this, it does come across as nagging. You actually see yourself. So the perception changes, which then changes your thoughts, sort of digging in and being like, well, I, I'm the right one here. There is glitter. There's a fact of the clutter. It's like,
There's actually multiple ways to see this. It's like zooming out with the heart brain. It changes your perceptions, your thoughts, and then your feelings, and then the words that you say and the actions you take. Study after study shows that emotional intelligence.
is what is the indicator of success more than IQ. Wow. So hard intelligence is the foundation of emotional intelligence, where we can show up and be in a different way in our work, in our relationships with our friends, our children, our loved ones, and you just create just so much more depth and connection and love and fulfillment and success.
That makes so much sense. Coming from the heart, like you said, it's this kind of cliche topic where everybody says, speak from your heart or feel into your heart, but you're giving these tools so that people can learn how to actually do that. What are some of the top tools?
And also, by the way, a lot of what people think is the heart is not the heart. When people go, I followed my heart, it led me wrong. A lot of that is actually the ego, these big erratic emotions. And just what I call in the book, the unbridled mind, that's the ego. The heart's intelligence is actually really clear and really calm. And then you can see through.

If we have time, do you wanna do a quick practice? Please, yes. Let's do an abbreviated practice of the heart-aligned meditation, which we did the research study with, with 30 people, and we found a 29% increase in coherence in four weeks. So we were talking about the heart, we're talking about this incredible wisdom of the heart, but it's really about experiencing what this is like. So this is nonlinear, the heart's power just starts to shift our experience in our bodies.
This was part of the research study that we did with the HeartMath Institute. It's so cool that you did that. Look at that. Wow. This shows because we're using appreciation in the practice. This is the HRV pattern when we're angry. You can see it's disordered, it's chaotic, it's also energy inefficient. What that means is we're just wasting energy, we get depleted, our bodies are in fight or flight, blood flow gets pulled out of our gut health, our guts get bloated, all sorts of things happen.
Look at appreciation. Wow, so much more. This is real, right? This is affecting your entire body. So it's smooth, sine waves. What this means is the psychological, what we don't see becomes the physiological. It's affecting all our systems in the body. So as we become more coherent and there's certain emotions, the one we measured in this practice is appreciation, which is easier to access
On a daily basis versus your heart rate or there's a lot going on, goes right to peace, go to love, right? Go to appreciation first. And then you're starting to change the input to the brain and then all the systems in your body start to get more synchronized. So let's do the practice. Yeah, let's do it. And then I want to share that story. Yeah, I want to hear. And this is just so cool. This just.
prove something that I believe in so deeply, which is how connected our bodies are to our minds, and how connected our emotions are to our physical health. That's my greatest passion, my favorite thing to talk about. So this is just so cool that you're able to show all these different correlations.
It's true love, and I feel like in a world that's so physical, like we're looking at social media, we're looking at our food, we're smelling it. We focus on these things that we can touch and hold. But as Dr. Roland McCrady says, who we ran the research study with, emotions run the show.
So what that means is what stress, emotions, it's not the traffic, it's the resistance, the upset, our reactions to these happenings that are creating the actual imbalances in our body, the things that are happening in our body. Totally. Sorry, one more research.
Yeah, it's a show. No, I love this. This is on page 77, and what this showed is one month of doing the practices in the book, or the research that was incorporated into the practice in the book, on average, quarters all went down 23%, and DHEA went up 100%. Oh my God. So this could be more effective than supplements and that kind of stuff. And, right? You could support to eat well. But to have these tools,
DHEA is fertility. It's vitality. Cortisol, as we know, is just... Brinkles, everything's out of whack. So it's so powerful to do these practices. And it's my intention with this book to show there is a hidden power and you don't have to go outside of yourself. It's right here. That's so cool. It's right here. We'll drop in, we'll do an abbreviated version. Okay, I'm excited. I had to put my hair up because I don't know about you. I'm like,
It's hot under the lights right now, but it's a little bit warm. Yeah, but I think it's my postpartum like I get hormones. Yes, hormones make sense uncontrollable sometimes. The coherence is going to help everything regulate even more. So physically, emotionally, mentally.
I was part of life, mom life. Yeah, the things we do. And when we do the little babies on us and they radiate heat on top of it too, I'm just like done.
with the heat, but I love it. It's the best. Amazing. Okay. Let's do it. So go ahead and close your eyes and for, you know, everyone wants to come along the journey with us unless you're driving. Of course, you can come back. You can still do the practice with your eyes open, but really I encourage you to come back with eyes closed so you can tune in. Okay. So right away, we're going to go right to our hearts.
So that means placing your attention on your heart. You can even put a hand there. If that feels natural, if it helps you connect, it's not entirely necessary, but you can. And now we're going to take some deep breaths, imagining that we're breathing in and out of the heart. Now there's a whole coherence breath pattern in the book. We won't get into all of that now. What's important now is just focusing on the heart.
and breathing in and out nice and slowly. And now continuing to focus on your heart, I'd like you to recall someone or something that makes you feel appreciation, which is this coherence elevating emotion. It feels expansive to me. It feels a little tingly and warm.
So you could recall a loved one, a pet, a sunset that you saw on a trip. And just really feel this emotion in your heart. And we're going to sustain this for just a few moments and stay with it. If you got distracted or a thought came in, just go right into your heart.
Just feel, really go there. Feel appreciation for just a few more moments. And then taking another deep breath into your heart and exhaling out. And one more deep breath, breathing in appreciation and peace and love.
And then exhaling out appreciation, peace and love. One of the things that the science also shows is that your heart is like a broadcast station. So as you get coherent, you're able to intentionally
channel and share. It's really incredible, unifying, coherent building emotions with the people around you and the environments that you come into with loved ones and with the greater field of the world as well. So we'll close by taking a moment to thank your heart for its amazing wisdom.
And then when you're ready, you can start to open your eyes. Well, I feel like I'm in a whole different room. Yes, and. Oh my God, like even the energy field around you right now in your aura is like expanded. Because you know how I can see people. It's like, shape shifting faces and energy fields. I see your third eye right now, like your expanding. Oh, I'm getting it. Just goosebumps all around.
How powerful is this so powerful and also, I mean, I know that this was quick. I'm not having the hot flash anymore. I just feel more like rooted in my body. I feel more calm. It's amazing.

I gotta tell you something amazing love. So we did this research study, right? And we had all kinds of people in the research study. We had ex-military, we had busy moms, we had executives, we had all kinds of people. 30 days, just doing this practice. And by the way, on my website, mysaluna.com, there's these tracks which anyone can access paired with coherence music.
So in the track, it's still less than eight minutes, but we stay in appreciation for two minutes because that was found in the research to create these incredible shifts. But we're talking about two minutes and practices, eight minutes. In our study, there were two women who had been trying to find love for years. They were both successful. One was a doctor.
And one was a, like a high level producer. Now they're in their late thirties. They've been on a million dating apps. They've tried everything. They really want kids and a family. They do the research study. They get coherent. One within three weeks, one within five weeks. What? Both found their life partners. I'm not kidding. No way. One of them is already engaged. One of them is about to be engaged.
Oh my God, that's so cool. This energy that we just started to tap into is sliver. When you do the practices in the book, again, not just this meditation, but the ones in the middle of life, your coherence builds and builds and builds so that hard feel, that energy around you shifts and changes. So then your life.
will shift and change. That is amazing. Just tapping into the most magnetic, most highest vibrational self. That's so cool. Oh, let me tell you my story, love. Yeah. Wait till you hear this. So again, all hearts are equal, right? I want to make that clear. It's not that some of us have, you know, more of this potential or others. It's true that we have, you know, different incentives and percentages and patterns and things, but what Yogananda taught is all hearts are equal.
So, we can all go through these stages. So, this day in particular, I was in a clear heart moment, and I didn't call it that back then, but it was a moment where I stepped out of my apartment in New York, when I was living there, and the sun was on my shoulders. You know, you have these days where you just feel and flow, right? That is the clear heart moment. So, I was bouncing up to Union Square and just not really thinking, and I just felt really clear.
And I got to the park, and usually I would walk diagonally across, because I worked with this agency at the time that was in the east side of the city. Now, the preface to this is that I had sent my third book to Deepak Chopra to give me a review, ideally, right? And after many months of following up, he finally wrote back to me. And I got a great endorsement. But I had this knowing, you know, Jordan, just like a knowing, I'm meant to do more.
Instead of the propelled heartway, which is like, make it happen, force, send more emails, go through an agent, you know, go to one of his conference and try to stock him outside. Whatever it was, I just felt really clear, like this knowingness. And so that day, and I was clear in my body, this is where real guidance comes from, with your gut, your heart. And I talk about practice to align your heart and gut as well. But anyways, in that day, I just had this feeling, walk to the right, walk to the, to the west side, which doesn't make sense.
Because it would have taken twice as long. So I do it. And guess who I run into in the sidewalk. Deepak Chopra. Deepak Chopra. Oh my god. And this too. I'm getting goosebumps again. I was so clear. So if I'm overthinking, I'm like meek, right? Like who am I to interrupt him or like, you know,
Oh, it's me. You come across as a certain way. This hard work is about presence, about embodying the energy. Then life changes around you. So I went right up to him and I said, hey, Deepak, it's me, Kimberly. You just reviewed my book. Just like that, clear, simple, just right there. And he's like, oh, Kimberly. And because of the way I showed up, not just seeing, but because of the way I showed up, he gave me a cell phone number.
And then a few weeks later, we went to a coffee shop. And in two hours, we had the napkin somewhere. We wrote out a title of a book. We decided to write a book together. We wrote out the pillars. And we wrote the book. It was called Radical Beauty. It went on to become a New York Times bestseller.
These are the synchronicities that happen when you work with the root energy of the heart. And you awaken into this potential. Remember you said the word synchronicities? It's an energy field. So these five hearts are stages. They're also different realities.
Yeah. The experience of different reality. Quantum timelines. Quantum topic. Exactly. Favorite topic in the world. As you know, it's not this linear minds way, egos way, like a step by step. Things don't have to take as long as you may think.
Wow, that's so cool. First of all, you should frame that napkin that you guys made your notes on. And then secondly, I'm so happy that you're talking about this because I truly feel like the way that we show up to whatever it is that we're doing. Yes. Changes everything. It's like the inner confidence, the inner light, that inner radiance.
being tapped into our hearts face, changes the outcome. Yes, because exactly imagine how many people go up to departs. Exactly. Like, hey, you're my idol. Like, we should get coffee. He'd be like, thank you. I mean, I don't know what he would do, but he probably wouldn't share his phone number.
Exactly. You understood that your energy was on the same level as him because we're all human. We're all human. Yeah, that's so beautiful. And to the, you know, exactly what the subject of the book is, its coherence is this magnetism. So we all have this potential in our hearts, but if you're weighed down by the insecure thoughts or the thoughts that are always running, the confusion, you stay small. So this radiance, this potential is heart, brain, nervous system. Now you're like,
Your energy just goes to the moon and beyond. I can't wait to do all these practices. Yes. Also, you're the second person I've talked to who had a synchronistic moment with Deepak Chopra like that. I feel like he's the embodiment of universal energy. He talks about this. Yes. Happed into something and you want to meet him or something. I feel like it can happen.
Well, but also thinking about whatever goals we have, right? Finding a life partner. I think about where I was when I met my husband, just in that steady heart, really, you know, not attached, not trying to make a relationship happen and just radiating out. And we met at a dinner party. So, easeful, I wasn't, you know, trying to go on out, you know, whatever. I just, we were there. We saw each other. There was this flow.
And so I feel like, you know, hearts way is more useful and aligned and it feels rejuvenative that those lower heart stages, I mentioned the dark heart, the propelled heart. It's just this pushing, this friction, this stressfulness, hurry energy, timeline, like lack, running out of time. I have to work harder. It's just, it's just a more arduous way. This intelligence, this power of the five hearts is something that we can unlock inside of all of us.
That's so amazing. I'm so proud of you. This is so cool. Thank you. And you're the epitome of vibrance and energy and health and radiance. It's so amazing. And there's layers and layers. You know, Joy, I thought I had energy before, but doing this work, I would say of 60% more energy. My relationship with John is so much just more connected. My kids, I really want everyone.
to have these tools. I want everyone to know, and I think this is how we're going to change the world, right? So to us, in our circles, we become more coherent, it influences our kids' schools and our work, and then we change society one heart at a time. Exactly. The age of Aquarius, and you're an Aquarius. That was perfect.
Just ahead of the curve. That's how I view myself and you in this type of work, like ahead of the curve. By the time people are ready for it, it's here for them, you know, and the work that you've been doing. And showing what I think people, a lot of people are ready for now. It's like, oh.
Yeah. People already know what I was looking for, but here it is. Exactly. It's right inside. They may not realize they're ready, but they're ready. Yes. Many hearts are ready to awaken. Yeah. Wow. Well, this was amazing. I could talk to you all day. Yes. This literally felt like it was a five minute conversation. I know. It was like,
