I'm Dave Anthony Fox News. Now Pam Bondi is in and Matt Gaetz is out. Fox's Alexis McAdams near the Trump estate in West Palm Beach, Florida. Bondi was nominated hours after Gaetz, a former congressman also from Florida withdrew. If confirmed, Bondi would lead the Justice Department and set the agenda for federal investigations and prosecutions. This is what Trump had to say about Bondi yesterday on True Social. Illinois Democrat Sean Caston says the House Ethics Committee report and a former Congressman Matt Gates should still be made public, even though Gates is no longer a member of Congress or nominee for attorney general. Caston has introduced legislation to force the ethics committee to release the report. The investigation looks into allegations of sexual misconduct

Hey guys, Donald Trump Jr. here with urgent news. The world's central banks are making unprecedented moves and it's time to pay attention. In 2022 and 2023, they bought more gold than ever before. And now in 2024, the trend is accelerating. Why?
because central banks have lost faith in the dollar, and in these uncertain times, gold is the ultimate safe haven. If you two are worried about the dollar, I urge you to take similar action by diversifying your IRA or 401k into gold with my trusted friends at Birch Gold Group. Good morning and welcome to the Friday edition of Buyers and Company. Our DPS 61 spotlight. We're going to concentrate on innovative programs. Leslie Rigsby will be with us a little later today. Mark Topper, our bring out our home highlight and Angela from the YMCA. Buyers and Company WSO Y 1340 AM 103.3 FM streaming live at now Decatur dot com.
All right, it's our last weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday coming up. And as Nick just said, not bad on Sunday, actually pretty decent tomorrow as well. Get this drizzle out of here. More importantly, the win. Good Lord.
Yeah, it was whistling. It was howling. Moving things around. Howling is exactly right. Just. But it looks like next couple of days. Anyway, heading into Thanksgiving week are going to be nice, which we're looking forward to. We have a whole bunch to get to here today. And I want to start with the whole bat gates dropping out thing. This is an interesting thing to me.
We talked about this last week when the announcement started to roll out, you know, this person nominated, this person being put up, that person being put up. I want to talk a little bit about Vince McMahon's wife who's being set to run education in the United States of America. And we asked about, you know, are all of these serious or some of these being thrown out because, you know, you make a bunch of noise about a couple of people over here and maybe some of the other people who aren't quite as
whatever, you know, get through the strategy of all this. I mean, he seems to have dropped out without a whole lot of fight like himself. Yeah, you know, I think that what you'll probably see on the positive side for my gates is that it'll probably transition to a far more lucrative job. Well, there's potential about him being appointed to the Senate seat in Florida by Governor Ron DeSantis.
You know, he's a Florida was a former Florida congressman now that maybe Marco Rubio, you know, there's all kinds of things in motion who knows how that all lands, but he seems to have like we'll take a little trip to Capitol Hill will gauge the temperature and the temperature seemed to be pretty obvious that that wasn't going to happen. And so without a lot of fight, he's like, I'm out of here. I don't know. It seemed to me at all be conjecture speculation. I think that
Ultimately, maybe a deal was brokered. Maybe, maybe he has something else lined up, but you're right. It came pretty quick and which also means to me that either opportunity presented itself or an ultimatum. Oh, well, yeah. I don't think there may be opportunity. I don't. I think he just found out about how disliked he is by.
he's voted alone. He, he has known that that that's not new to him. I think sometimes you think that the weight of the name behind you and the power of the election and all this stuff is going to circumvent all that that maybe you convince yourself, you talk yourself into thinking like, wow, we'll get through this because they're not going to dare say no to my guy. And maybe you're delusional in self convincing that
But why would you not just play that out and see if you were right? Because I think you heard right away. Right. So the worst thing is that they tell you no, like you're that you're gone. All right. You don't go fine. But if they tell you yes, then you're in the damage is done. Yeah, it's embarrassing though. I mean, he resigned from Congress. He did. You know, we'll see what happens. I don't think he's going to have a lot of friends in the storm. And I think once the president like said, OK, we went on. That gates may be out in the cold for a while.
Yeah, I expect to see him on TV. Really? Yeah. Absolutely. I do. OK. I get sure why not. I don't have any argument against that other than he's just wholly unlikeable by everyone that actually knows him. And that goes for red, blue, everything across the board.
I don't agree with that actually. I mean, I feel that way, but, but I've seen plenty. You see Marjorie going out on her shield for him. You see Donald Trump putting his name on him multiple times and took it off quick. Really quick. Tap on the brakes. The guy for the attorney general, the United States of America. I mean,
To some extent he thought positively of him. This isn't some Trojan horse that they're going to go. Everybody keep looking at Matt Gaetz and then we're going to like that's not how the world works. Oh, it's how these nominations work all the time. You put somebody you got a whole slate. You have to get approved. I mean, we're talking about a number of names, some way more known than others. I mean, as far as
their credentials or who they are or the knowledge of the general public or even in the Senate of the United States of America. Some are just like automatic targets where everybody lights up and goes no way. I don't know that this would be even the president elect strategy, but certainly maybe people around him or people who are in charge of this transition or helping to put this stuff out there. You want to put the people in that completely agree with you that you can control completely. There's no way Matt Gates gets within a whiff of being
this position ever in the history of anything under anyone else ever. And the idea was if it gets through, well, he will owe everything to us and we will have all the power. And I think that the Republicans in the Senate
certainly the Democrats sent the message very early on. There is no way you cannot do the math to make this work. You don't get this. And so rather than fight it, you move on. Maybe the next person you line up isn't as controversial. And really, when you set the level at starting with that,
everybody looks a little more normal when you come back with the next one don't know what all that will mean I just I thought it was a pretty quick out not much of a fight and so clearly to me they were on the hill you know the last couple of days the message was sent to him you're not getting it there is no way you don't have anywhere near the votes
So give up the fight. Now, we'll see what happens. Does he get appointed to the Senate, which then he can impact and infect his magic that he's done with the house on the people who like to consider themselves more august and more civil than the scallowags over in the house of representatives? How will he play there if that's his new job? Same way. And man,
I don't disagree with what you said, but how sad is it when your mark of measuring is Marjorie Taylor. And I'm saying, but that's the center. I also mentioned the president elect the United States of America.
I mean, like that's the epicenter of certainly the party. You don't think that there's any message being sent here at all? Yeah, of course I do. I think that the message from the blue party is we're going to push back. We're going to fight against all these different things. Yeah, but that's going to be the message regardless. That wasn't the message that got him to resign his nomination. I think that with the circumstances that surround his
the ethics report, the, the inevitability. I think that there, I think when you leave that quick and you don't leave anywhere quick at all, you don't give anything up. You, you go, this guy has everything that we know about him as, Hey, this should have been where he stopped. This is where you should have stopped. And he never, ever, ever stopped. And then just on a Thursday, he just walks away. No, some information. He's not like, well, you guys are right. I'm going to just
I'm sure he was strong on. He has that kind of self reflection at all. I think he was told by Republicans. I mean, we're talking about the numbers that were needed. You know, how many votes you had to get versus how many would not support you. Isn't it? It's not a large number. I mean, if six people go, we're not doing this. You're not getting it. Right. Yeah, I just don't. I don't have any feeling that it was just a
Yeah. Oh, yeah. The math isn't there for us. Let's just move on. There's been no demonstration of any of that in his personality and anything that I've seen of him in the years that I've been seeing things of him. There was either a massive Golden Gordon Golden Prize on this end or the exact opposite on the other way, one or the other or both happened at the same time. It wasn't like, hey, man, it's not going to work out. Get them next time.
there's just no chance of that being on the table in my mind. Okay. With him. With his personality. I mean, if you're looked at and you go, OK, now you're going to have to go through all the embarrassment. And now you're going to have to go through all this stuff getting leaked. And now you're going to have to go through all this stuff being public when you don't have the votes to begin. And that stuff might even end up happening anyway. Well, maybe. But I'm just saying you can't even. That might have been the strong arm. We're going to put this out here tomorrow or we're going to figure out everything we can to get this out there.
And then we're going to run you down the entire time or you just leave today. We don't guarantee that it won't get out there and all the stuff will happen as well. I know. I thought it was a quick exit for these things considered. Like was it serious to begin with? Was it fodder to throw around? Was it? Who knows? I don't really know. It just feels like he came and went pretty fast for a guy who's been a pain in the side of everybody there for years.
and seems to relish in that role. Doesn't seem to mind taking any of the heat for being that way. You're literally building my case. No, but I'm saying he's better than I was. He's out quick for somebody who doesn't mind being put up for ridicule a lot. It's literally my point. That's literally my point. So it's like, but you're saying that's proof. No, I'm not saying it's proof. I have no idea. I don't, I don't have a clue what my point is.
I don't think that he that he landed on. This is probably better for the country. I wasn't coming anywhere remotely close to saying that. I'm saying that I think the Republicans in the Senate, however many that is three, four, five, six, nine, 11, whatever it is to the very first big blow up of this thing said, absolutely not. You're not going to be attorney general. He's cast a vote and been the only one of like the 400 and whatever opposed to it.
I mean, he does not care. He doesn't care if you agree or disagree. Well, he doesn't care, but you act like these nominees have all total self control over their nomination. If the nose were not even said to him, but we're said to the transition team or the people who are in charge of nominating for the president elect, get the message that this is going down in flames. There is no way you can win this. He's told to resign and they move to the next person. Right. But if you've already resigned your spot in the house,
and your reelection, and they tell you, hey, you're not going to win. We want you out here. Why does he? I mean, because at the end of the day, he's going to do whatever they tell him to do, meaning the incoming administration, even if he's on the outside of it. Yes.
Absolutely. What does that do him? Doesn't do him any good. He resigned his seat in the house. That report was going to be released the Friday before he resigned from the house. Now, cynicism will say, you know, he stepped out ahead of that. They tried to circumvent maybe pivot and switch and maybe you can get this thing and we'll see what happens. You've been loyal. And then as soon as the smoke signals were seen that we don't have the votes, they jettisoned that pretty fast.
in conjunction with everything else that's going on, but he's out. And I would hope that regardless of who you voted for or whatever you think about all the things that you can think about the country right now and the direction it's added or not or whatever, that there wasn't a lot of people who were serious about Matt Gates taking this job being in this position. I would hope
They'd hope he yet he was the nominee. And he's out and fast, but he was the he I mean, they didn't have to go anywhere near it if they didn't want to. So there was at least serious consideration to make it. So by some people, most important. Well, that doesn't mean they're in touch with the people that this has to go through to actually make it happen. I mean, there's a reason why they can't just go. That's the person. And it doesn't matter what anybody says. But my point to that is somebody thought it was a good idea.
minimally one person thought it was a good idea with the biggest vote of all the votes. Thought it was a good idea. And probably people around going, yeah, it was a great idea. How did you come up with that? It's awesome. But you're right. The apparatus rejected it, but there was there was some temperament. Yeah, but you said the most important vote. That's not the most important vote. It's the biggest person in the room to say yes, but they don't have the ultimate control.
to just put the person in. I guess I'm a little bit hopeful. I don't, I will take some small victories here in that you cannot put these ridiculous nominations in without some resistance from both sides of the aisle. And clearly Matt Gaetz got resistance from both sides of the aisle. Yeah, he shouldn't have been in there in the first place. I totally agree. But mentally forget all the fluff and all the silly stuff and all the personal conduct and all that.
just on the American merit of being a lawyer. Just say this is the word merit. Just on merit. Yes. Not even not even close. He wouldn't be the first person watching to see to get a job that he doesn't deserve on merit. But he is off the charts. The poster child for somebody that shouldn't be anywhere near the power of that office. And he's now not going to be. We'll see what happens with the rest.
Yeah, I look forward to seeing his book, his TV show. I will watch or listen to read to any of it. I don't know why anyone would. I really don't. I don't know what he offers or what he brings to the table. And you would think if he's this great lawyer that was capable of running the Justice Department, he could go back and make a lot of money in Florida being a great lawyer. One has the sense his dad was a big party player in the state of Florida that he went and got a law degree because that's what you're supposed to do to become a politician.
I don't have any sense at all of his legal career. There's not any of it. So he's down. And I don't know what happens next. I was a little surprised. I didn't know anything about Vince McMahon's wife until watching that documentary on Netflix. I mean, I couldn't have even if she walked in the room, I would not have been able to identify her. Excuse me, his cabinet. No, no, I get that cabinets a whole different thing. You know, once again,
Does this stuff fall to her, the controversy? I mean, I know she was part of the lawsuits that were going on in and around that. You just don't wait more about this. I only know what I saw in that documentary on Netflix. Yeah, there's a there's a wrestler named Kane, who's the mayor of Knox County over there in Tennessee. And there's it's funny because you can check out video of
of the mayor of Knox County, um, doing a tombstone on the future. And you're talking about education really. No, like on, on TV, like, it's character or I don't know when these people retire or what they do after this is just the character. The character many years ago. All right. That was going to fall flat. There's just footage of our secretary of education doing wrestling moves on TV with the mayor of a city in Tennessee. She's on air talent. She was, uh,
Uh, heavily invested in her kids ran the company along with her husband herself. I mean, she was all around this circle. It's, it wasn't even a well kept secret, the behavior and the attitudes, but it was a monopoly. They steroids were an issue. They went to, to court about that. They, the bad behavior has been coming out. That documentary tells you some really bad behavior. So yeah, she's around that.
administrator of the small business administration from 2017 to 2019. That's not a cabinet level position. This is a little different, as far as the nomination process and how you're installed in this in charge of being. What is her background, though? I mean, was she just sort of the brains, the books, the behind the McMahon Enterprise? I just don't know anything about her at all other than
What's in that document? Yes, she was the co-owner, co-runner of WWE. I mean, Vince McMahon is obviously the gorilla of all of that. But he was the CEO. Yeah. From 1980 to 2009. Yep. Pretty big company. Massive company. Okay.
Well, I didn't realize, I mean, I did realize that the president elect Trump was in that orbit, you know, meaning Hall of Famer. Yeah. How does the Hall of Fame and wrestling work? Just out of curiosity. I mean, how do you end up in the Hall of Fame? Like just every other like every Hall of Fame, some experts are in this case, it's self promoted. So.
Did you have value to the company? Did you do so without stepping on us or embarrassing us? If so, you're eligible for embarrassing us. Yeah. From the organization that they judge, like you went to, like you went to the other company. Oh, not that you raped people or had it. Oh, that's fine. That's what you do in our ring or hopefully not somebody else. I got so long you didn't help anybody else.
Oh my god, this stuff is just it writes itself. I don't even know how you it has become such a conflation of reality and all of this just kind of pushed together into one big saucepan of crazy. That's our life.
It is, I guess. All right. Well, we know the ones out. We do know about the rest. They named he named his well, the replacement person. He's got a little smoke behind her too. I don't know that there will ever be a day and this is just talking about it generically. You know, you take candidate X, candidate Y, get elected. I don't know if there's anything. When was the last time there wasn't smoke behind something?
I mean a Supreme Court justice a whatever it might be. I mean there will always be this battle Some way worse than others. I mean, it's not even close back gates should have never There is not a world you live in that the idea of Matt gates being the Attorney General of the United States of America should have ever been a conversation that any serious person would ever have about anything I mean there I can't
I've seen a lot of this where you go, who is that? I've seen a lot of this where you don't know a lot about or I've seen a lot of this where there's a lot of smoke. I've never seen anything ever as ridiculous as that notion. Unless we go a couple of picks down this cycle to Robert Kennedy. Yes.
Dr. Oz. I mean, there are lists. Oh, John Fetterman said he would vote for Dr. Oz. I thought that was odd. Now they were the, they were opponents. So one would imagine you get to know somebody a little bit in a statewide race where you're running against somebody for a couple of years. Yeah. I don't. That doesn't mean that I understand this. I'm just saying it's, it's an odd thing. I mean, I wonder why.
Yeah, I don't know. I mean, he did have a very storied career before he turned into the Dr. Oz on TV to be fair. Had some background for sure. Before he got into the weird stuff that maybe made money off of and that supplement stuff, you start endorsing and then you take the money just because the money's there. Maybe that was a bad idea. I don't know anything else other than all of these TV personalities.
You see lists that are like memes, and you see names tucked in there, and you're like, wait, is that real? That can't be real. Right, you have to actually go and look and go, did that? I mean, did I miss that one getting tucked in there? Because it...
You're right. I'd rather it. I'm used to more in being a list of names. I don't know that you look at and go, I guys only got 16 years of that, you know, right? Because there's all these TV connections or some kind of fame connection in some way outside of the realm or some squirrely. Yeah, just some straight up squirrely. Now he he's a professor emeritus for cardiothoracic surgery at Columbia University. Yeah, he's one of the best. I mean,
That that in itself is like so far like light years ahead of what Robert has on his resume. America healthy again. Yeah. I mean, he graduated from Harvard. You know, I mean, he has the pedigree of all of them. So what's the most? What's the downside other than the stuff that he got into kind of pimping and promoting the thought a lot of language around him is that he's for sale that, you know,
that he's not that serious. And I don't know. I don't know enough about him, but I mean, I'm, I'm only bringing him up because it's like, here's another TV dude. But then again, the president is a TV dude. Yeah. I mean, so it's, but, but, but you know, where he were a lot of these folks, you know, how they got into our lives was through the woman who got paid a million dollars to go out and promote Kamala Harris. 60 appearances on the Oprah Winford show.
I mean, that's where he is right for sure. Dr. Phil, a lot of these folks who have turned into the Trump orbit, you know, got their start with Oprah Winfrey. No question about that. And his very first TV show, you remember the Discovery Channel? When was the last time you watched it? I watched it quite a bit. Do you really? What's on there now that you watch? A lot of the, like, travel or history or we're exploring the tomb of Tutankhamen and watch a lot of that. All right. Oh, and Detective Joe Kenda. I love watching him. What is that?
It's this old guy that was a cop in Detroit, and I'm sorry, Denver, and they have a young guy. He kind of narrates. Here's, here's a case I remember, and then they acted out with a younger version of him. Yeah. And he's just very good at it. I got it. Love it. Okay. That sounds actually pretty interesting to me. Yeah. But so what, what does Harpo Productions
deserve any of the blame in this culture for some of these people who have been launched into this stratosphere of fame and now into like literally running in the United States of America because they got not only their start on the show, but got their own show launched by her production company. Yeah, maybe. Maybe. I mean, it's probably worth looking at. There's certainly a thread. There's no question about that. She's also someone, you know, that
She's she's for sale to to degree. I mean her whole business is that Were you surprised at the amount of money? You know that she wasn't just sort of like I I found that is that confirmed? Yeah for pretty much look and look I would not be surprised. They're just looking at the debts They're still out raising money even though they spent a billion dollars and big and there's a lot of people questioning about how smart it was and
about the way, some of the ways they spent the money. If, okay, let me rephrase it. If it is true that she took a million dollars. Is that surprise you? I wouldn't be overwhelming. You said Dr. Oz. Yeah, I'm not. Let me say this. I'm not overwhelmingly surprised that that's even being discussed. I mean,
product placement and things like that. And that is a product. A campaign is a product. Product placement and knowing what her reach is and all of that. No, I'm not surprised at all that that's even being bandied about. I don't know that this particular thing is true only because I've not really
I've read both things, but never followed it all the way down. But yeah, I think that, but she's not going for elected office. She's just helping. I get that. But does that not take away? Does that not? OK, if it's true and if it's not, then none of this matters. But if it's true, does it not sort of reinforce this idea that some of this kind of stuff hurt the vice president? Because it's not genuine. You're buying somebody's endorsement.
that that Hollywood feel about all of that kind of people reject that or get annoyed by it because it doesn't seem genuine and real. I think that it probably hurts to some degree, but I think honestly what hurts more is that because of the commercialization of everything in the
And many years of watching, you know, George Foreman grills and Dr. Oz on Oprah and everybody on boom, boom, boom. Then we got to the point where the weight doesn't that we've just kind of waned on it carrying a lot of weight.
I think that we can sizzle it and go, Oh, yeah, but doesn't the weight feel more to you like being genuine and organic like like I feel so strongly about this. I'm here to do this rather than I'm getting paid to do this. I think universally what I've not seen any real any other sort of hence that others were on the take.
Oprah is the only one that I'm personally with. That doesn't mean others didn't get paid. But like she brought out the stars. What I think the problem is I don't think people care. Yeah, I don't either. But it does for me anyway. It just feels less than genuine. You know, like what I thought it was genuine if it's true. But does that make you are you speaking specifically about
Oprah's endorsement and all the endorsement. No, I'm talking about it. If somebody's getting paid to be here, I'm throwing my support behind this person because I truly believe this is a very important vote and a very important direction for our country. I'll catch this check. Thank you very much. That's a very different thing to me.
But we're only talking about Oprah. Well, that's the only thing I know. There was stuff about Beyonce. I don't have it. All I know that there was a lot of Democrat operatives that are very much questioning the spending of the campaign and how in the world they raised all of this money. I mean, it was like a three to one, you know, and then they're still in debt trying to pay all this stuff off and they're going, why in the world would you have paid this, this, this and this for this thing? That it's that far out of the ordinary. Sure. That's all.
We do live in this TV thing, right? I mean, that's, it's all around us. We're talking about the world, you know, wrestling. We're talking about Dr. Oz. We're talking about Oprah. We're talking about, and even the, for the defense secretary. Yeah. And if this, if this is out about Oprah, not that I turned to her or anything, but it's like, well, I don't really care what you have to say on this topic because, um,
He whoever I will just assume that one side pay more than the other. Yeah. So I believe she would have bit that would have been her natural belief, but she also gave us Dr. Oz. Right. I mean, the only reason he's in this position was because of her television show. Otherwise, this guy would just be talking about the paranormal with faculty over Columbia University. Give me a Dr. Oz. He's interested.
What's he going on about? Oh, nothing. Yeah. And then the idea that we're down to fruit loops on this other thing, you know, watching the headlines and watching like serious. I'm using finger quotes here. News about fruit loops. Fruit loops were around when I was a kid. Yeah. I mean, fruit loops have been around for a very long time. Sure. Cereal, the cereal aisle. In fact, there may have been more choices. I don't know. I don't shop. I don't eat cereal. I haven't had cereal for a very long time. I promise you this. There are not
less choices now than there were today. I thought I have like six different types. Really? I thought after COVID, some of that stuff whittled down a little bit. Well, yeah, the portions did. OK, fair enough. You get less. Yeah, same size box. All right. Anyway, let's take a break. We've got a lot to get to here today. And we'll follow the rest of this as it happens. But I thought Matt Gates went out with a whimper and not a bang. I think he lands way on his feet.
I don't know what, we're gonna watch them on TV.
Uh, or in a nice job, but probably on TV, maybe with also a nice job. Could be, could be. I, you know, I, whatever it was like, I went on his own accord. Yeah, that is not his demo. But here's the thing. And why I don't think he'll be on TV. He's a mile wide and inch deep. It's one thing to get up and do some, you got Rob Roth thing on a stage or to give some sound bite. I don't think the guy's interesting enough.
to actually be someone who has to go out and actually be entertaining or, you know, have the animus or whatever you're, you're coming in trying to do. I don't think he's got that in him. I think he's dumber than a bag of hammers. Well, but imagine putting him on a desk and going, you were there in the inner circle. Tell us exactly what he's thinking right now when he's making this choice.
So he can be a pundit on a panel on, you know, Newsmax is quite a fall from being a nominee. But you go to being the big for Newsmax. He'd be the big name they have. I guess. He'd be instantly day one. That's a big gift for them. Okay. Relative to them. Yeah. He'd be a big gift for my TV station if I had one.
You know what I mean? It's like, you get your own, he brings the biggest audience you get. I guess. Big get on Newsmax isn't the goal in life that I think some people have. Maybe others, it's okay. Here's your consolation pressure, a big deal on Newsmax. Okay. You're not wrong. It's just down to the definition of what big deal is.
All right, let's take a break. Apologize behind here. We got to preview of the weekend's high school football games. Thankfully, and I don't know where Johnson City is. I know in way south way south way. So hopefully it's better. Bloomington right up just 40 minutes north here. We know we're not going to have this crazy wind we've had all week, which will make being there in person way more enjoyable. 49 degrees and no wind on Saturday is I mean, that's a
that's apple pie with ice cream. And kids throwing and kicking footballs in the wind is not compared to what it's been the last three, four days. Yeah. All right. Love it. Got that deal they're doing where you're going to come out of high school as a senior graduating with college credits and good to go. Man, I wish that was around when I was there. Yeah, I would have done it. I want to try to do it. Sure. By the way, one last thing on Matt Gates, uh, in his, uh, in his social media post about leaving, he used, he uses the word of thus. He's a lawyer.
He's almost the attorney general. I do. He was not almost the attorney general combined. OK, but yes, but that doesn't mean he was almost attorney general. This is the way he'll play this the rest of his life, but he was not anywhere near being attorney general was nominated.
You can't even take a victory with her as a victory. It's good for everybody. That guy was not serious for this position. No, he was not. I'm saying that he sent us the word thus all he wants. And he can call himself the former nominee who was knocked out by underage girls and sex scandals and drug-fueled parties. And only in America today is that a resume that will get you somewhere. Yup. Thus. It's a big deal. It's not to say thus.
This guy was a joke to his colleagues. I mean, even the true believers. I mean, even the people that you would maybe disagree with vehemently thought is guys way too far. It's too much. Yeah. Doesn't do good for anybody. So he's out and the next nominee is up and we'll see how all this shakes out over the next couple of weeks.
I just think that there is a pause, and I'm giving the pause to some Senate Republicans who felt like everything going in with everybody is just going to rubber stamp anything that was coming out of the president-elect's cap. You know, like, you're going to do this or else. And they said, no, we're not. And I'm hoping they do that to RFK Jr.
And I'm hoping they do that to a few others because there are some people that in this TV world of fame may be a thing, but serious leaders, they are not or running something the size of what we're talking about or impacting people's day. It's a joke. Yeah, RFK is probably the most interesting of all of them because he's been on the top stage. He's basically been said he's going to do
sweep the whole country with those people to pack their bags, the health professionals that have run this thing forever. And he also called. I mean, if you want to go back and listen to the audio, and I know people who voted for Trump won't, but it's there. Called all of you Nazis, bootlickers and I mean, yeah, not 20 years ago. Like literally just a while back.
But that didn't bother you with JD Vance and it's not going to bother you probably with RFK. But some of these choices are just not serious. And I think that one is going is going to be that one will tank. Yes.
man. But the, it's one thing to go. I'm, I'm giving my guy Gates a loyalty reward, right? It's another to build a campaign to campaign around bringing this guy into the fold and putting him. Well, cause you were going for every vote you could get. And if there were undecideds and people, maybe in a third party camp or people that were, I guess those votes are cast. Yeah, those votes are cast and you're not running again. And you know, I, like you're acting like this guy's got actual loyalty to anyone. I don't think that's the, no, I'm saying that the, the,
I'm acting like, Hey, this is who I want. I think personally, I think that he throws this stuff up as father. And I don't think he cares one way or another. He's going to do what he wants. He's like, Hey, I told you I'd do this here. Good luck. Sorry. Didn't work out. Bye. Maybe that's what I felt like with bad days. Yeah, maybe so. So why didn't Marjorie get one? Because I think in
And she's not happy about it. No, it may be. It may be a testament to how cray cray. All of this is that there is even in that cray cray, a litmus test of something. Maybe. Maybe. I don't know. Is it Jewish space lasers? I don't know where the line is drawn. Like, well, that's too far. I can't even imagine the conversation that takes place. Like hell.
That's clearly too far. What world? I don't know how you define any of that. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I mean, she was right there though. The whole time and then she disappeared. But there's also, but several other people were too that looper, whatever their name is, you know, that have been, you know, close and then pushed out and close and pushed out. You know, I don't. Who knows? We'll see.
I wasn't going to say that, but yeah, there's a correlation if you look through other relationships that sort of kind of go up and down. I don't know what that means. I don't either because his daughter-in-law wants that Senate seat in Florida too. So we're going to see, you know, with the Santas and then you got the whole relationship, but the Santas isn't smooth.
about what he'll do. If Rubio gets out and does whatever and worth that sentence seat, how that will be appointed for the last big time sentence seat that happened. You know, it was Barack Obama's here in Illinois and what happened to Rob LeGoyevich with all that. It was the end of that for him. So this stuff happens on every side of the aisle. When there's this power vacuum and all of a sudden you're like, Oh, I've got some golden. I've got the strings to figure out how to play this. Yeah. We'll see.
Okay. And I really, I don't know. I feel bad about, I feel like I'm taking Vince McMahon's actions and putting it on his wife. And I don't know that that's fair or unfair. And I don't feel like I'm an expert at all about other than watching whatever that six part or whatever was documentary about the history of that organization. And you just go, how in the world does everyone not know all the bad stuff going on? Right.
particularly for the CEO and president of the company and live in the same house and live the same house for most of the time. But is that fair? So you seem like a sweet lady. I mean, I shouldn't seem like like she didn't come across the way he came across. Sure. Oh, yeah, he's all the way to find it, which is, I think Trump took as many lessons from that world as he did any other world in the way that he leads. Like all this stuff.
that you think the Saturday night live skit in real life would like you could put it in that world. And it seems like it would all just be part of the plot and make perfect sense. Yeah. I mean, McMan, very good at controlling the narrative, not only between the camera, when the cameras on, but outside the camera and all all of it and being aware of who your enemies are and squashing them out or taking them on instantly. And a lot of success of it. McMan had
and controlled something for decades. That's it from nothing, took it all the way to huge. And by the way, I misspoke earlier about that not being a cabinet position she had. President Obama did make that a cabinet position in 2012. It wasn't before then, but it is now, meaning the small business administration, the administrator of the small business administration.
It's one of those cabinet positions doesn't get a lot of noise. I mean, there's a lot of those that are you won't hear about in the incoming next, you know, 30, 60 days. You know, you like who was the nominee for the small business administration versus the attorney general or the the bigger ones, but it is. I was wrong. It is a cabinet position.
Yeah. And if, and if her name would have been something like, let me make one up with Sanders. How about this? How about Isabel Guzman? Don't know who that is. That's the current administrator of the small business administration. Yeah. Don't know who that is. Can't know it all. Right. And so I can't sit there and bring any baggage to that. And you go, man, I hope they're making choices for the right reasons. Well, you would assume maybe because you don't hear anything that that's, that's exactly what's happening. Yeah. All right. Anyway.
Let's do a quick weather break. We have the games coming up Saturday. Now I'm rooting for, and I don't know why you wouldn't be rooting for both teams right at this point. Unless you were a team that got beat by both of them or something. I don't want anything. Fair enough. But if you're busy as locally, if you're here, you got mountainside and you got Meruil for some room for them. They're rooting for them. Absolutely. Now they're the state is the state championship in
That's a different experience. I always kind of feel like it'll be a great experience. And they got a stadium and it's a stadium. It's not quite Memorial Stadium at the University of Illinois. I don't know why they can't just land on a place and perfect it. Like why they try to move this thing around. Opportunity, probably. Is it? Yeah. Hey, we could. We're state school. We'd like to make some money.
Yeah, I know. I just think if you're a high school football player in Illinois, there, there's not a stadium in Illinois outside of the Bears, you know, that you'd rather play in than the University of Illinois. Yeah, it's probably number two, but it's a far number. There's, we don't have a good college one overall. That's probably the closest thing to it. I thought there, I think their stadium is okay. I mean, but after the renovations and everything, that's, I mean, it's fair.
Northwestern's new one will probably be need to be considered. Yeah. But for these smaller towns, that's a long haul to go to Chicago. You generally want to do it somewhere in the central part of the state, so everybody has an equal kind of drive. So anyway, but the game itself, literally 315 pregame for Maro Forsyth and Johnson City.
Okay. And then Mount Zion at normal, you high, six forty five pregame or immediately after Maro. So if there's time in between, we'll do the pregame. Uh, if for some reason that game lasts a little longer, we'll go right into the game with Mount Zion, but they're both going to be back to back on W. D. Z. And then we're all game. It sounds like they'll be playing in the daylight and the dark. Is that right? Three 15? Yeah, four o'clock. It's a little bit of both.
So here's your key. If you're heading down or traveling around, or maybe you're just out shopping, you know, it's a big weekend for doing that small business Saturday and all that. Just download the Nauticator app. And when you pull up the Nauticator app, you will see at the very top, the first thing you get is the stream. That's the go-to screen. And you'll see it'll come up on WSOI, but you'll see right over there, Fox Sports 10.50 AM.
that clears that right across right there. So you just can tap that and it will pull up, hit go and you're good to listen to the stream. 100% right. It's very easy. It's clear. I love listening to it. I'll be running errands and stuff over the weekend. I'm usually out and about. I'll be listening. That's how I do it in my car. So traveling or whatever or you just want to like, Hey, we're on the two local teams. I'd love to see them both playing, you know, next weekend and blooming. I love that.
I experienced that, Maroah and St. Teresa one year. It's probably happened multiple times. Oh, yes. But that day, it was like it was hard not to catch the fever. Yeah, the fever honestly was. You're right. They're screaming for school. You know, not a thing about other than it's just by us. Those are our people. And just great memories. These kids will take with them the rest of their life. Absolutely. So go Braves. Go Trojans. Have a great weekend and you can check it out on WDC. We'll take a break. Here's Nick with your three day forecast back with more right after this.

Good morning and welcome. We're back here on a Friday morning, getting ready to head into Thanksgiving week. Very excited about all that. We've got plenty to talk about a little later today. Las Vegas is up and running. I watched practice one last night in our time, meaning it started at 824.
Is there anything to learn? Lewis look good. He did practice. He finished. And by the way, none of this necessarily means anything because we will see teams do very well in practice and then not do it qualify. Lewis, it was one the first or fastest time in P one and P two. I think George Russell was second P one and Lando came in and took that away. But Russell was third in P two. So the Mercedes
looks good. And we'll say, you know, it was fun just to watch. I just see the sphere and the lights and it was great. I'm stoked. Me too. They announced the F1 Lego partnership slate for 2025 and all the cars are going to be available to be built. I can't wait. That's cool. That's one of those costs. Those will be like 25 bucks. Oh, that's it. Are they small? Yeah, they'll be like eight inches long. Okay. Yep.
There you go. We'll go through the best viewing parties, hotel packages, exclusive events, how many points does Max needs separating from Lando to win the world title in Las Vegas this weekend? Not many. Right. And Yuki almost got sent back to Japan because of border security.
He said is because he's wearing his jammies. Okay. Well, maybe he goes. Maybe I didn't look like a foot F one driver because I was wearing my pajamas. Into it. And now it's not just the drivers. Everybody's speculating now. It's the whole sky crew is Martin Rundle and David Croft out. Can't imagine they've been there forever.
We'll get into it. And Angela will be in from the YMCA. And don't forget, we've got a great home from Brink Otter today as well. DPS coming up next. Stay tuned. Now the longtime Chicago Alderman who secretly recorded meetings with former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan took the witness stand yesterday in Madigan's federal corruption trial. Former Alderman Danny Solis began cooperating with the FBI in 2016 after agents approached him with evidence he'd been accepting bribes. The FBI became interested in Madigan a year later when he called Solis and asked for an introduction to a real estate developer.
Acting on direction from the government, Solis told Madigan the developer understood it would get the necessary zoning approvals from the city in exchange for contracting with the speaker's law firm. While that wasn't true, prosecutors allege Madigan's actions pursuing the developer's business amounted to bribery and extortion.
