Skeletons in the closet. I'm Chris Foster, Fox News, Republicans on the House Ethics Committee blocked the release of a report on Attorney General nominee Matt Gates and allegations of sexual misconduct and drug use. I've been focused on what we got to do to reform the Department of Justice.
I've been meeting with senators, I haven't been paying much attention to that. In the meantime, Monterey, California police released a report on accusations in 2017 that Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hesketh sexually assaulted a woman in a hotel room at a Republican women's conference. The report says the one remembers saying no a lot but not much else and thinks something may have been slipped into her drink. Hesketh has said what happened was consensual, he was never charged with a crime and paid the woman to stop a lawsuit and protect his job as a Fox News Channel host.
There's another escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war. According to Ukraine, Russia has launched an intercontinental ballistic missile at the Ukrainian city of Danipro. These weapons are capable of traveling thousands of miles and carrying nuclear warheads.

you.
Good morning and welcome to the Thursday edition of Buyers and Company. Paul Osborne, City Hall Insider. We'll check in with Mark Tapper and Tapper on Sports. And we'll tell you about a Nova feed partnering with a local company
The first ever product available right here. The company starts now.
So sometime early this morning, I happened to look at my phone and had a push notification showing me that snow was stopping soon. And I thought, oh, I hadn't looked out a window or anything.
Just that message. I don't know that you would have seen much. You did. There was nothing. I mean, so I got up and I was prepared, you know, sort of like, oh, you know, what's the drive in going to look like and looking at the temperatures? Are we freezing? All that. And then I pulled the car out of the garage and there's not nothing. I did see snow on the way in. Did you like a few flakes? Yep. I mean, not enough to measure it other than it's like, hey, it's here. Mm hmm.
If this were like the sixth snow, you wouldn't mention it, but it being that it's the first. It's like, yeah, but I hear snow. I mean, I think naturally accumulation, you know, which is the big deal, not a few flakes here or there. Yes, technically snow was stopping. Well, it's because with rain, we have rain, we have pouring and we have drops. So we have different levels. Snow is just one word. Yeah. Yeah. And Buffalo has different snow than we had today. For sure.
I you can always do that comparison thing and feel better about where you live. I'm just not prepared for it. I know next week is Thanksgiving. We've had an unbelievably fair fall overall. It's just this, you know, you got to get the 50 mile an hour wind and the cold temperatures and snowflakes. Yep. Usually I go. I know.
I don't, the wind seems so different today than it used to here. Not that we haven't had wind, but it just feels like the sustained wind, you know, you get for 48 hours or even more. I mean, it's been blowing like this for close to two days now and looks like it's not going to stop anytime soon. Was it the largest typhoon or not? I'm sorry, a cyclone ever over the
continent of North America seen yesterday. Well, Seattle, you know, got hit really hard with one, which we did a few years ago. I think there was some stuff in Springfield. You know, it happens. But yeah, there was pretty big one. I know a couple of people died. I don't know. I think it was more from like trees falling. I know I know for a fact, one lady died in her house, you know, tree fella. Yeah, we've got
There's a word for it. I'm going to avoid it. But we're seeing different things in our weather consistently. And if you're a data nerd and you look at graphs and charts and stuff.
It's no longer anomalous. It's no longer, hey, that's weird. It's more like some trending type stuff. Yeah. Can we trend? I don't mind the warm trend a little bit. We get away from the 50-mile hour wind trend. That's never enjoyable. I don't care what the temperature is. But anyway, it looks like it's going to be fairly nice for the weekend by the time high school football playoffs continue, which is good because people are sitting outside and man,
You know, you get out into those small towns, you know, out in the middle of like, you know, not a lot of wind block and a nice 45 degree day can feel way worse with 40 mile an hour winds. Oh, no question about that. Like night and day, speaking of which we will be a couple of programming notes. I saw Robert sent an email yesterday. And some people, I think, you know, I don't mind, of course, at all streaming is what I do probably more than anything else as far as consuming entertainment. But there's some folks who still like it the old way, and that's fine. We'll be airing it to this Saturday. It got the line of basketball. You got high school football.
We have a lot of stuff going on over the next few days. Once again, the Maro foresight and Mount Zion games this weekend will be on our sister station. W D Z. We'll get that scheduled together and then we'll take a quick break. Come back with more buyers and company. Here's a look at your

but in case there'd be some crazy, you know, double overtime game or something like that, there could be a little bleed over. So both of those games back to back on WDZ, you can also stream that at the Nauticator app. Just download it for free in the app store and you're ready to go toggle back and forth between a line. I whatever you want to do. That's what I was going to say. A lot of Saturdays. I'm in my car going to champagne, Springfield, Bloomington are saying just something usually doing something on Saturday. And that is exactly what I do. I toggle between the different games listening to the playoff
high school playoffs last week, listening to the Align Eye, and that's how I take it in. I mean, just naturally how it works. And if that wasn't available, I wouldn't take it in at all, probably. No, and that's the whole point. You know, you're going to take it with you. That's exactly right. I'd read about it in the paper or something or online later. Yeah.
No, it's all there for you to use and free of charge. As always, we don't do the paywall thing around here, which I don't know what the future of that is. And, you know, it was interesting. Like occasionally you'll have the want to go look at something and it's like they used to give you like a couple of free, you know, and now it's like not at all. And I just I don't know.
It's just me. Any who is not just you. It's millions of you. Yeah. Where you go to that site and you have decision tree, you got to go through. Do I do I want to go ahead and pay? No, that's not even a tree I go through. Right. Well, but I fall right out of the tree. Do I want to do I then want to go search for it somewhere else or am I just over it? Is this an is it literally a wall that prevents me from doing anything?
Yeah, it could be. That's not generally if I don't, you know, you can find it somewhere else or you're just curious about X, Y or Z. It's okay. I look at this thing and I don't know how it's all going to end. We started to talk about this a little bit after the show yesterday. Comcast is going to be spending off networks.
And here's what I want to know because I always believe the consumer will probably be screwed because they seem to be in general, speaking in general, the last consideration of these companies. So you phrase that properly in terms of like, how much do we care about? Yeah. But they are the first thing they think about in terms of how far can we go?
So they are for sure. I guess what I'm saying is the last thing on their consideration list is my experience and affordability. It's how much can they get out of me and for how long? That's right. So what does Comcast look like, right? If they don't have
M S N B C or I and you know, quite a few large networks and then what happens to them and then they get gobbled up and then how much pricing will fluctuate over the next three or four or five years until all of the dust settles and we know what the new new looks like. Yeah, it's.
We've talked about a lot. It's going to be re-consolidation and bundling, bundling, bundling, bundling, which sounds a lot like your cable plan that you had before. And Alec Hart, much like iTunes, a dollar a song makes it great.
You know when I don't even know what it is a song now because when they came out Yes, but but if you think about it a 20 out 20 song album was 20 bucks instead of 13 Yeah, but the whole problem is most people didn't want the other 16 songs on the album. So it worked out for people
And so so here's what you've got is, all right, you don't want all 50 channels. We'll now buy them at a higher price. Alec Hart. Yeah. And then you'll look up and go, well, I'm spending 37. Alec Hart for 46. I can have all these other things. I know. And you do the same. It's just. But here at the end of the day, and tell me if I'm wrong, you know, with the ability to get just about anything you want.
news wise. Let's just stick with that category. You know, events, news, that type of thing. I don't understand having a pay wall in front of a newspaper that is 90% stuff. I can get 800 other places.
But that that's a tough one to swallow. You know what I'm saying? I mean, so I'm not going to. I mean, that's an easy non hurdle for me, right? And I feel like that's my Comcast bill by and large. Most of the stuff there I'm not there for. Mm hmm.
But I'm paying for all of it. And if you start paddling off the stuff that I am, therefore, and I can go get the five or six or seven things that I want and not have to have the 280 channels. I don't care about it all. And I can do it for a much cheaper price. I don't know in the long run how this works out for Comcast. There's enough people that go, well,
managing eight, nine, 10, 11 subscriptions and all their price increases and knowing what I've got and installing and updating all these. I'd rather just pay one bill. No, I got everything and I can pick what I want when I want. Yeah, but you don't have everything. I mean, with Comcast, you're not getting Netflix and you can. They bundle it together. They do, but it's already ginormous expensive without it. Oh, I'm not. I mean, they've got to figure out pricing, but that
What we're going to end up with is moving away from satellite, moving away from from cable, probably entirely at some point and we'll all be streaming. What about the, but we'll cable them become just an internet service company. I mean, because to have all that and then depending on where you live, no, no. And here's why, because none of them are any of the things that we're talked about first. That's not their number one business. Their number one business we haven't even mentioned yet. And that's data.
Yeah, well, of course, I so the any way that they can get data and have it and serve it to you and charge you for it, then then have all everything that you do available. That's all they want. So however they can get there, they're going to find more things to get into. OK, so they're not heard at all. If I go from 3 30 a month, which is just insane to $69 a month,
just to keep the internet. Sure, that would hurt. But if you still have the internet, then everything that you do, they have access to know, which has more value because to advertisers, they want the hot leaves. Are they just getting out of the cable business? I think they're getting out of the, Hey, it costs a lot of money to make a show and hire an actor and talk to a show runner and do all that. But why don't we just pay a billion and get sports? And then that runs itself.
Yeah, but I mean, but these individual networks, I mean, like, there's a whole list and some of them will apply to some people, some won't. And if you're a news junkie, you'll miss this. If your sports, you'll miss that. I mean, there's a lot we're talking about here. And then at the end, if that all goes away, what are they charging me three 30 a month for? What's left?
But I don't like what I've got. I mean, I'm not happy with it now. So probably license it off the people that buy it. Yeah. But give us a bunch of money and also let us use it so our customers don't skip a beat. OK. Somebody's good. Someone's paying for all that. Yeah.
And I am at my threshold with that. You know, I don't cut the cord just because I like the Internet service. I'm pretty satisfied with that. You know, we have a lot of devices. We use a lot of stuff and I, you know, I feel like the customer service and everything on that is I'm good with that. For they have a product and this isn't a commercial for them, but they have a product called Streamsaver and TV now where you could have 125 channels, Netflix, Apple TV and Peacock.
You could add those digital for 30 bucks total. Yeah, so I mean that's where you cut all the way down to and then there's your core and you got 125 channels plus three of the major stream. But of the 125 channels is it ESPN? I mean, is it the ones that I want or is it a bunch of hallmark? No, it's probably most of the ones that you want like the the fairway kind of ones. Yeah.
Um, and then that's where you start building your streaming on top of their aware of it. They have a product that built exactly for that. Okay. And you keep your internet. Yeah. So maybe peek at that. Okay. What do you do? I mean, do you have more stuff than I need? Right. Isn't that the way probably most people feel? Yeah. And I have sat down in this last week to compare plans and make checklists of who watches what and where we need to get it. So we're
as soon as I have probably four hours, one day to sit and all right. Here's how we cover all the things that we've been. If you do that, I'd like the blueprint. I mean, the pieces will be. I've already started. I got printouts and check boxes. I've been serious. I love it. No, I know. I think about it every month, you know, and it's not enough to pull the trigger. But then I worry about like, well, what am I going to do if I don't have stars for this one show that comes out once every 13 months?
Yeah, we should do what other people do, honestly, and most people should do it through the frugal people that go, all right, Game of Thrones is back for these three months. All right, we're going to turn this streaming service on and when it's over, we're going to turn it off. Yeah.
And then we'll come back with a welcome offer with a discount and we'll do it again. It seems like some work. Yeah, it's a lot of work. And that's factored into it. I think they know the threshold for what people's patients will, you know, that there's a lot of people that will just encourage it to a degree because they want to also have new subscribers. So you're new a few times a year. That's actually okay. That's I get that. But I also as a consumer and as a consumer for a very long time,
I feel like their plans, they're not based around my satisfaction. No, like there's no loyalty based around their deals and where the price thresholds are. I get that, but there's no loyalty to the long time customer. No, there's no need. Well, I mean, cell phones are like that, too. There are no deals for 30 year customers over over new ones. That doesn't make any sense to me. I make sense about trying to get new ones, but I don't know why you wouldn't want to keep your base. Have to audience.
And same thing with airlines. There's certain things that you don't get. If you're if you're a regular at the coffee shop and you've been coming here 30 years, hey, Marv, how about it? Coffee's on me today. I have some pancakes too. I get that. You want to see Marv every day. Yeah. Cell phone guy. Hey, we don't care. We're going. You need a phone. We're the only one in town or we're going to get somebody else. We're going to pilfer from them. They're going to pilfer from us. It's liquid. Who cares?
I mean, there are no deals like that. Loyalty deals are done because we're captive. I get that. But isn't it still smart? I mean, how much does it hurt you to a.
recruit new people, but take care of the people you already have. That is about a sound of business model as you could possibly come up with. And I worry that all of corporate everything is this, what have you done for me lately right now in your face and people don't reward
I don't know. It just doesn't make any sense to me. I understand they can still make their money and claw through every at the end of the day. I think it's a bad philosophy. I agree. And a lot of shopping have rewards and things like that that absolutely do the opposite. There's a total. I mean, I can't tell you how many times I get an email going. You've got $20 and blah, blah, blah. And I, you know, I mean, I use that all the time, but it's like, well, hey, right? Yeah. Hey, it's your birthday.
you're being rewarded for our relationship. Yeah. And it's special to you. And we appreciate you being here. And every time you spend money with us, we'd like to somewhere bank it for every thousand you spend. You got 11 cents. Come on. Right. Or even if it's not.
That kind of reward just don't screw me more than you do the brand new guy who might be with you for 30 days. I have been Captain loyal, but I have had my heart broken in the last two, three years dealing with companies that I've been customer for a long time. And you just I'm to the on the other side where I realize
That's not what they're about. Yeah. I mean, I might as well not have I could be have started today. I'm not naive. I don't disagree with anything you're saying. I just I still it doesn't hurt that much to do both. Right. That's what I don't understand. So we'll see. I don't know what all the shake up is going to look like. I'm OK with change. I mean, I move OK. I'm not one of these stuck in there. Like I can't watch the line. I game on peacock or whatever. But I felt like
during COVID when like no one was paying for anything. Right. I kept my stuff. I kept with everything. You know, when people were just like right and left and you know, you think, oh, a 30 year relationship should mean something, not at all.
Not at all. You move out of that house. Somebody's going to move in and sign up. Well, that's how they look at it. I know you keel over. So I was sitting in that seat. I know. And cynically, they're probably right. But man, it doesn't hurt just to do that little extra to go, Hey, we still want to keep you too. It'll be interesting. I think over the next six months, it will shape at least in my household in a very dynamic fashion will change completely. We'll be back after news. Stay tuned. This is RJ Christ with your stories.

East Side Fire says it came on like a light switch and some damage has never seen a storm like it. Take it from Barbara. This is a huge one.

I cold wind rain. So that's pretty much it today. A chance of rain and snow cloudy with a high of 40 and windy gusts
reaching 46 miles per hour. Tonight, chance of rain and snow continues up until midnight. Cloudy and windy with a low around 35 Friday, just cloudy and windy. A precipitation with a high of 46 and Saturday at just a notch warmer, mostly sunny and a high near 48. The current temperature and downtown Decatur 30 degrees. Your WSOI time is 633.
You can probably pick up their Fandango movie ticket service pretty cheap. Oh, yeah. They bought which is kind of funny because we're talking about Comcast, by the way, announcing to split off almost all of it to keep a cable TV networks into a new company.
And fan dango also had just purchased voodoo from from Walmart. So they do the home video stuff as well. You know, we were talking before the break about the wanting to have some equity after being kind of like a customer for a long period of time. And I have found the opposite. So a positive experience on two sizes of businesses.
So I collect some art is well documented here. Yes. There are some artists that have their own businesses around it that are so hands on so customer service. Hey, guys, that followed me on discord.
here's an opportunity just for you guys because you're my close fans. Hey, you just bought this box. Let me fill it with other things for you. And you walk away going, man, I know, you know, Tom from Tom's barn girl, like because he's he's the one doing it. And you feel good about it. And you want to keep going. On the other end, I've seasoned tickets to a team in Atlanta, the Falcons. And I've reached 20 years threshold.
and even before that, but 20s, a special milestone. They treat the sheer white glove touching that they do. They've already got my money, but they're white gloving me with opportunities. And like today, I post Malone and jelly roll are playing in Bush stadium and Wrigley field and the Mercedes been stadium here beyond the list. You can get these early, you know, just every little thing that it feels like they could do. They do do.
And now even though it's expensive to fly and hotels are more expensive and this, that, and I'm thinking like, does it make sense anymore? The value and appreciation that that business gives to me. I know you feel very loyal to them as well. I would ask you what the ticket increases over the last 20 years. They hold firm mostly. I'm at like, you know, what you were paying for those seats 20 years ago versus what you're paying today. Oh, man. I would say,
I'd have to think about it. But it's not so ridiculous that it's extremely noticeable. The apparatus around it has gotten way different. But them themselves, when there's an opportunity to keep them flat or keep them consistent, they generally do. And when something like that comes, they're also kind of smart enough to soften the blow with, hey, here's another way we're going to save you. Yeah. And look, they clearly, you know, you're a fan of the team. Sometimes being a fan of the team, you do things differently than something you're not a fan of.
I'm talking solely as a consumer of me and a place I spend money with. Yes, but you have the baked in loyalty of a fan of a sports franchise, which is a little different than like watching Real Housewives. But I also have season tickets in St. Louis to the to the battle Hawks. And I have no relationship with them. So I'm just giving them money tickets, money and tickets. And you would think they would be the ones that would have to build the relationship. So that is just, hey, I don't if the value proposition doesn't work, I walk away. I have a relationship over here.
separate from my fandom. It's interesting because it looks like they're going to keep the rest of its media business, including NBC, Peacock, Universal Film and TV Studio plus the theme parks and Bravo.
is bravo is really no longer a part of my viewing universe. Not boycotting it. It's just not a thing. It's a different product. It's a different thing. Yeah. I mean, is it really just as as easy to say? It was like Real Housewives? I mean, is that the value of that network? And that sort of thing. But yeah, Andy Cohen universe. Yeah. OK. You're probably looking at the amount of risk versus reward or cost
The amount of work that goes into making money, the profitability news news is pretty consistent. You got four years Donald Trump's a guy that gets a lot of eyeballs. So four years from now, you're probably going to be watching the news, whether it's them or their competitors. But hey, all we got to do is have a desk and get people to show up. So it kind of works. Thinking about content and programming and this that and the other
I think the idea that they want to be on every TV in America, keeping NBC, they want you to go on vacation under that. They want to be right where the people are down down the fairway. You know, it's interesting because there's there's some in the media circles. When I say media circles, I mean, like network, you know, that are very fearful that there will be retribution, you know, and rules will be changed and that maybe it's not a great time to be in the news business. Like the opposite side of the coin. Oh, yeah. If
That's actually how that's funny because you're right. I mean, it's both at the same time. It is both at the same time. And I guess realistically, if you're considered to be on the opposition of the people making the rules, you're probably not sitting as well, say like Fox might be.
They're in a weird... They are in a weird middle area that is really hard to define. They are kind of like just floating on a door like that just constantly moves. The door handles just somewhere different every time you go.
All right. Well, anyway, we'll see what happens. I don't know, you know, I'd be interested, you know, the e-mails buyers at WSOIAM.com. You know, I've recently caught, you know, like long time relationships. And once again, I don't have this isn't anything about the service. I feel like they're very, like, you have a problem.
You know, they're very receptive, you know, we had twice this summer. This would be how old school does this sound to you? Not on our property, but behind our property where The guy the mowing service like literally cut our cable off a pole twice man I mean
Now, if it had been on our property, you know, we would have been responsible, but it's not. I mean, I can't do anything about how they run their lines, you know, but they couldn't have been more accommodating and getting somebody out. And, you know, so I mean, I don't feel like the customer service is bad anytime I call about anything. You know, they're very helpful and very nice. And that is drastically different.
And they used to be the poster. I know service in the history of the plant, but they also follow up with a tax and they follow up. You know, so if there's outages, you know, there's they communicate on a lot of different levels very differently today than you're right, maybe five or six years ago. So I don't have any. It's just why am I paying for all of this when I don't use most of it? The age old question. Yeah, that's actually
all of us on mo on many things for sure entry even if you've got an eight theater, you know, like mega plaques and I want to go to the movies. I don't go to all of them. Nope. They shouldn't pay. That's what I'm doing every day.
And there's so much of it that it's just, you know, the strength in numbers argument doesn't work for me anymore because I don't care if there's 600 channels. If there's 470, I don't care anything about. I bet you this, an experiment that would absolutely, I think, get overwhelmingly obvious answers. If you had a little stand out in front of the movie theater and said eight bucks to go see the movie you want to see, or 10, you can walk around. Yeah.
I guarantee almost everybody's like two bucks. I'll walk around and you'll go sit and watch the one and you might peek on the other and go, I don't want beer all day and leave.
And I bet you more people will pay that two bucks just for the idea of the freedom of being able to go look into the equivalent of real life isn't two bucks. You scale it up proportionally. Well, but scaling it up proportion, we'd be like eight bucks for this movie. Seventy eight dollars to go walk around. But my point is I think that people like the idea of I can do what I want when I want to do it. And I and I won't miss out.
It's I have a chance to do all the things. I have it at my fingertips and I'm going to watch the office again for the ninth time instead. That's what they do. It'll be an interesting ride. We'll see. Get through the holidays and that's my New Year's goal. I'm putting it off. I mean, that's me procrastinating and having a goal at the same time. Well, it's not as easy as like turn it all off and give me XYZ. You need to actually map out what is XYZ to you and where do you get them? Yeah.
It's a lot of work. But in some ways, though, it should be easier, you know, because they don't have control over whether I have HBO or not. The smartest play, honestly, would and it would be an inconvenience would be to jettison all of it. And then rebuild it. And then as you know, oh, I didn't realize I need stars. That's when FOMO though comes in, start going, I don't know, man, that new series looks pretty good.
That's all I mean, I mean, I'll own that. There's millions of people just like it. And it will be interesting to see how it all lands because I don't know for sure how it all lands. I mean, I think philosophically, we both agree about where it's going. But I don't know where all the consumers land.
I mean, I'm getting served ads daily about downloading apps that can help me off ramp all the stuff that I've signed up for and don't use. I mean, they're selling you now the technology to meter all of this. Right. And on the backside, they'll cancel for you. I mean, right. They want that data. Yeah. I mean, everybody's that's
So every time you see something like that, look, you go, what do they get out of that? No, I don't. But I've given up. I mean, that's just that horse is so far out of the barn. It's not credit card companies even offer that service. Yeah. You know, they're like, Hey, we let us monitor your streams. Yeah. So they are literally clearly coming in and going, we're going to help but let us intervene and help you with this conundrum you're facing about what all it is that you have. And then how much are you actually consuming the stuff you're paying for?
So they do have that little meter. They do. And then and we'll be the bad guys. We'll shut it off for you. That's right. And by the way, here's an on ramp to something else. Yes. Vegas is here. I watched Kim Ilman, who's the photographer from Australia that is always there at the races. He walked around with his phone camera and did a little video about the changes.
this year versus the inaugural race last year with F1 in Sin City. We'll tell you about it on the other side of the break. Stay tuned.

We are back here on a Thursday. Hope you're enjoying your start to the day. It's going to be very windy out there. Remember that if today is garbage day, I saw stuff all over the road on the way in this morning. I got about 20 leaf bags at the end of my driveway and there'll be four when you get home. I'm a little worried about. Yeah, but there'll be somebody else's problem. Somebody else's problem. That paper's biodegradable.
All right. So what's changed at the Vegas GP since last year? You know, they had the big inaugural year with the race and started out really bumpy, ended really great. And I think most things considered made a lot of money and everybody was happy, but they're bound to learn from their mistakes and do things a little different.
uh, and Kim Ilman, who is, you can follow on YouTube. He's fabulous. He's, he's a photographer, professional photographer, but he does sort of short media stuffs like eight minute video, uh, in and around F one and kind of owns that whole section, right? It's a real death strange, you know, and you can then buy his stuff. It's, and it's actually not
crazy expensive. I mean, when you think about art, got some really cool stuff. He doesn't books. They're amazing. So he's there walking around talking to the people, the vendors, people that work at the cozy mark, you know, about how, you know, their business is down 90% for the weekend because no one can get to them. The good, the bad and the ugly. So first and foremost, the one thing I learned, it will not be called the paddock this year.
They will not use that word in any of the signage or anything else because Steven Patek was the mass murder who shot those people that country music concert in Las Vegas in 2017. So they've changed the signage. Now, I am sure when you listen to Sky broadcast or, you know, Martin Brundle, they will refer to the Patek because that's what it's known as all over the world wherever they race.
But in respect to the people in Las Vegas, they just, they switched up the signage and so you see the word center or things like that. It looked the same. Fine by me. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I didn't connect that last year at all. We talked about it. We did? Okay. I don't have any memory of that at all. Yeah.
Yeah, we talked about it and your gut reaction was like, well, and then when you say it out loud, you're like, oh, yeah, that makes sense. Then he went to show the drain covers and those things. They're now nuclear proof. I mean, they look like literally the nation's secrets are buried under them.
Awesome. So I don't think you're going to have to worry about anybody's car getting gutted out in F1 practice one. You know, when you when they go over those the way Carlos signs just got screwed last year in Ferrari. Scary. Yes. Scary first. Then when he's okay, you can't believe that they get penalized and he gets dropped all the way down, you know, for something that he had absolutely no control over. Right.
and ended up in basically in trouble for it or penalize for it. Because you can't fix the cars. Anyway, George Russell had a similar thing at another race. It's not like the only time this has happened. But these street races, when you're literally racing on streets that are used by crews and cars and pedestrians, it's just different than having a track.
Yeah, no question about that. Yeah. All right. So some people think it's going to be great. And he also pointed out what we were talking about yesterday is your section tickets. It is different. And he goes like because he uses like a visual reference. I buy tickets for this section. I can't go into the section right next to it. So
those seats, those quarantined off. Yeah. So it is a very different. And even though there are in a lot more grandstand seating this year, which is why I think they were able to offer some lower, some prices in some areas because they're just way more seating. Right. Yep. And then last year he found
some entrepreneurs, some people with a little ingenuity that had found a place where if they pulled their pickup truck back in and reversed it in, it could sit on top of that pickup truck and actually see over the, the, the tarped fences for a perfect seat. It took a great picture of them. And so now they're trying to figure out how they're going to keep people. I mean, you'd have to be a Vegas insider to know even how to get to this space with an automobile they were in. That's all those people at the, the, the last decade or celebration.
Can you imagine? Yeah, they climbed up on a box truck, right? That's a $10 entry fee. Oh my goodness. Yeah. And you're elevated might even be better. Yeah. But $10 to get into the event and help support it. And the people who climb to that box truck to watch the show are probably the same people on social media dragging everybody about why it went away. Right. Ten bucks.
The look he lose, it's easy to kind of go, well, what's the harm? We go, well, right? If everybody's just on that side of the fence, then there's nothing on this side. Yeah, including the act. So I'm excited. I'll be watching it all after it's happened. I mean, there's just no way. I now really enjoy practice sessions and certainly qualifying and all that.
And yet it's all starting around midnight. I think there's one early maybe one practice. This is, you know, in prime time with the rest of it will all be like 11.56 PM our time. So I'll be watching it the next morning. Yeah. He this guy, Kim, he sells 30 minute video chats that you can if you wanted to 240 bucks, you get a digital image to and all of that. And
I might be neat. I mean, that's expensive, but I mean, for some people that want to 30 minute chat with him. Yeah, one on one. I just get to ask him whatever I want to ask him for 250 bucks. Yep. And you get a digital print of me talking to him. I was going to switch screen. No, I think it's one of his one of it says book now. And then you won high res digital image from his pro star picks.com value to 55 bucks. But very nice. His stuff is
I don't want to say it's affordable. It's affordable in the higher higher photography world, right? It puts together these books at the end of a season that are really cool. Yeah, I think honestly, if you're talking about one of the somebody that his images are borderline perfect in terms of technicality, minimally, to be able to sit there and maybe get some tips. You might get $250 of that. Just talk about
Yeah. Not alone if you're like a fanboy of it. Maybe maybe we can pay for Checo's dad to go talk to him about chilling out a little bit. What happened with Checo's dad? And he's just running his mouth. What is up with all these actors? Yeah. Well, first of all, Ralph Schumacher needs to shut up too.
He was actually pretty nice in return. I guess, but he's been, I mean, that guy is always about something. And I feel like it's like, yes, you were an F1 driver, but it's your name more than anything that is. Sure. And it wasn't you and your name that did that. It was your brother. That's right.
And these F one guys like the guy from Canada. I mean, they all just sit around like first and foremost, the racing and the cars and what they're doing today isn't even remotely like what they were doing when Ralph Schumacher was racing. No, not at all. By the way, the Senna dramatic series.
is starts next Friday on net. Oh, that close. Yeah. The day after Thanksgiving, I didn't realize. I saw a trailer yesterday, the kid who's playing him. I think it's only like four episodes. It's like a mini series. I mean, but it's not a documentary. It's like these are actors. So the Erickson show is available starting the 29th of November. So it's like a week from tomorrow. There's a there's a photo. I want to see that. There's a photo on this of it looks like probably Checo's car. I can't tell because I can't see the yellow or white. Yeah.
down on the turn right in front of the sphere with it lit up with. I mean, that photograph is so cool. And that's what you understand 100%.
why that race is where it is in the dark. Oh, yeah. I mean, it is unbelievably. This is probably my favorite visual race, then barreling down in front of New York, New York and TV almost doesn't do it justice just because of the camera angles of where the cars are. I've been there enough that I can call me too. I mean, I know what it looks like, but it doesn't. And that's okay.
I'm there to watch the race and so you can get better angles at some of this stuff when you're taking in the skyline and not just worried about getting the cars and frame. Yeah. I was that way in NASCAR and Chicago, right? Sure. That have to be. All right. Let's do one last break. Nick's got your three-day forecast.
