TLDR: This week on Staying Relevant Podcast, Roxie Nafousi discusses manifesting with hosts Sam and Pete. Sam questions his previous understanding of manifesting after being walked through a 7-step guide by Roxie.

In episode 112 of the Staying Relevant podcast, hosts Sam Thompson and Pete James dive into the world of manifestation with Roxie Nafousi, hailed as the "Queen of Manifesting". This lively discussion navigates through common misconceptions about manifestation, Roxie's seven-step guide, and the importance of mindset in achieving one's goals.
Key Discussion Points
Manifestation Explained
Definition: Roxie defines manifesting as the practice of using the power of your mind to change and create your reality. It's more than about positive thinking; it involves combining clarity in vision and belief in oneself.
Common Misconceptions: Many perceive manifestation as merely wishing for something without effort, leading to skepticism. Roxie argues that belief in worthiness is crucial for true manifestation.
Roxie's 7-Step Process for Manifestation
Roxie lays out her seven-step process, emphasizing that each step builds on the previous one:
- Be Clear in Your Vision: Define what you genuinely want to achieve. Vague goals often lead to vague results.
- Remove Fear and Doubt: Self-belief is paramount. You must believe you are worthy of receiving what you desire.
- Align Your Behavior: Take actionable steps that align with your goals. Positive mindset without action is ineffective.
- Overcome Tests: Challenges are part of the journey. These tests gauge your belief in your worthiness.
- Embrace Gratitude: Cultivating gratitude shifts you to a higher vibrational frequency and attracts positive experiences.
- Turn Envy into Inspiration: Instead of feeling envious of others, use that energy to motivate yourself toward your goals.
- Trust in the Universe: Let go of attachment to outcomes and trust that the universe supports you in your journey.
Importance of Mindset and Energy
Mindset: A core aspect of Roxie’s approach is changing one’s mindset to embrace self-worth and positivity. She emphasizes that growth can happen quickly when one decides to make a change in perspective.
Energy Transfer: The podcast touches on the concept of energy transfer, where Roxie mentions practices like Reiki, explaining that energy can influence our states of being.
Addressing Skepticism
Host Perspectives: Both Sam and Pete express their skepticism at times, particularly around the concept of manifesting without understanding. They highlight that many people misuse the term, leading to misconceptions and frustration.
Roxie's Rebuttal: Roxie stresses that achieving anything meaningful requires effort and belief in oneself, aligning with practical self-development concepts rather than airy-fairy notions.
Final Thoughts and Takeaways
Self-Development: The overarching theme from Roxie’s teachings is that focused self-development efforts, combined with a clear vision and positive belief, contribute significantly to achieving personal goals.
Call to Action: Listeners are encouraged to reflect on their definitions of success and happiness, and to restructure their beliefs accordingly.
Conclusion

Was this summary helpful?
Okay, listen, we've got an awful lot of space in the studio, but we need another chair because I cannot share with you. For future reference, I cannot share with him. Why? Don't say that. What do you mean, why? Look at the state of it. We're having a fucking argument and we've got a fucking guest in.
She's bought off intelligent glasses. We need to fucking put on a show here. We do. Right. Anyway, introduce us. Well, before we introduce the guests that we have, which is hence why me and Peter sat together snugly. It's not so far. It's not by choice. We are going to do our intro. Welcome to staying relevant. The podcast hosted by two best friends, myself, Sam Thompson and Peter, James, Jonathan Joseph works.
He doesn't like the crapping at the start. We do it anyway. No, we don't. You do it and they feel like they have to. It's just completely unnecessary. I'm going next up. Don't worry about that. Let's do it. We look more intelligent. Shut the fuck up. Anyway, there is our cold, weirdly available if we need it. And I feel like I'm going to for this episode. But I'm not currently drinking, but I am swearing if you don't like it. Go.
But we do have a guest, but before we get to that bit, rate review, do all of that crap. Sam loves reading it. Make sure you follow Josh's YouTube page, which is at staying relevant, because otherwise he won't have a job. And we near 100,000 Instagram, not Instagram, YouTube subscribers. Yeah, whoa, and then Sam can get these little certificate and be part of the side, side dishboys or whatever they're called.
Anyway, introduce the guest. Let's go. Well, we are joined today by somebody who is far too highbrow to be sat in the chair opposite us. But here she is. She is a author, a Sunday Times best-selling author. Two times, two times, who has sold over a million copies of her book. It is, of course, the one and only Roxena Foussey.
Not actually Roxanne, we were just talking about. Yeah. No. No, my real name. Marissa. Not far. Rowan. Rowan. Yeah. And then, actually, it's quite sad. I was so badly bullied for being a rocky that I decided to change my name because I didn't want to seem too Arab. So it could have been rocky.
Rocky. Right. But we weren't with Roxy. Did you get bullied for Roxy? No. No. Why would you? It's a lovely name. So you are how the Queen of Manifesting by Forbes and the Financial Times. Correct. Now this is going to be incredibly fun. It's going to be very, very interesting.
We are held the biggest failures on TV. So very similar. We've got great tells. You were the king of the jungle. You were the queen of manifesting. Wonderful. And what are my other people's princess? Lovely. Manifestation. The reason that we've got you here is because we did a podcast recently where we did the words of the year and all that sort of stuff. And manifest was recently named Cambridge Dictionary's Word of the Year for 2024. So we discussed it very briefly. We did. And I said it.
Well, I'm not afraid to admit, I think it's a load of bollocks. So, why not get the person that knows the most about you into discuss? So, manifest, discuss. Can I just quit? No. I really believe. Okay. Like, I really do believe. Okay. Two reasons why you're here. Firstly, because I don't necessarily believe in manifestation. He does believe in ghosts.
No, I didn't say that either. But what Sam believes manifestation is is all so wrong. So Sam believes it is having a man called Jerome come to his house to transfer energy. He also believes that manifestation of a real person or personal mind.
Yeah, he's a geezer. Jerome is just a man that Sam has energy swapping sessions with. Anyway, that's fucking weird in itself. But also Sam believes that holding hands and manifesting together is a better way of doing it. And it's down to breathing exercises. Now, how much of that is true? Do you know Jerome?
I'm gonna give it like a big, no, no, that is real, what you think manifesting is. So I think manifesting is when you think something in your head, and then you link arms with someone, grab them, and then you breathe into it, into the universe. So let's say- I'm embarrassed for us. Let's say I want Roxy to be interviewed on the stay relevant podcast. I would manifest you right, so I'd be like, Roxy. Whereas I would send your agent an email.
Yeah, but that's what you do. So you basically like, let's say, if I want Pete to win Strictly, I'll go Pete winning Strictly. So you didn't manifest that then? Like, but we got you pretty fucking far. But it didn't work out. But we got you as far as the fucking gods of manifestation could get you. Well, not really, because if you manifested it, it would happen.
Yeah, I don't know whose words, are you not believing or are you believing that? Oh, exactly. There we go. Good, good, good, good. I thought I had like one on my side and one not and now I'm fucked because I've got two. It's not Roxanne. Roxie's short for Roxanne. Yeah, but that's not what her name is. Sorry. Roxie, what the fuck? Jesus. I know. So why don't we start this with you explaining manifestation? Okay.
So, manifesting is using the... I have never been so nervous to give this definition of all my life. Why is that? Because you are so cynical. You're looking at me like... Just look at me because I'm ready to receive you. I am ready. I'm channeling it. Come to me. Come to me. Come to me. Energy wise. Okay. All right. Manifesting is using the power of your mind to change and create the reality you experience.
Okay, so manifesting is a self development practice. And it's really it's a mindset and it's got lots of different elements to it. So I think the misconception with manifesting and why it gets such a bad rep is that manifesting is just about thinking about you what you want.
thinking really positively and I'm waiting for it to happen by some kind of magic or by channeling your energy. But that's actually not what it is at all. And so I do understand why people hear the word manifest and cringe. Like I do because I think that there's so much misinformation about it. And I think that people think that's absolute bullshit. You can't just think your way to success, which I totally agree. You feel your way to success. I think.
Not on a weird way, but... I think it's like, because basically what manifesting is, at its crux, is about believing you are worthy of having the things that you desire. So I created my own seven-step process to manifesting. Shall I just take you through it? Please, please do. Okay, step one, don't be a dick. It's probably quite high on that fucking list. Well, we both fucking failed there then.
Okay. Step one is be clear in your vision. By the way, can I just say that when I explain these seven steps to manifesting, what I want is for you guys to really have, for you to understand what it properly is and for you to at least be open to it. I'm just going to point out before you start this. No, no, no, no. So before we point this out, the biggest problem that I have is the fact that it's overused and people don't understand what the fuck they're talking about. Yeah.
That's why I hate it, because everyone just, when anything, anything good happens to people, well, I manifested that, and you didn't really, did you? It just happened to you, and you like to think you're a fucking cool cat, but they're using that. The cool cat? Yeah, because manifestation is this now cool thing that everyone fucking thinks they're doing and wants to do, but actually, they don't really understand what the fuck it is in the first place. Yeah. So that's, so it's not that I'm not open-minded. It's that I don't like people overusing things that they know fuck or about, because everyone wants to act like, you know, it's the new fucking thing to do. Roxy, before we go into step one. Yeah.
Can we open Peter up quickly? I am open and raring to go. As you pretty closed.
No, he's okay. Okay. Oh, I found out. Is manifestation in the Institute of Body Language? Are you happy with my body language? I'm really happy with your body language. Wonderful. If you're happy with my body language, please continue. You don't need to touch me. Okay. Jerome, I'm just giving you my energy. Okay. Step one. Okay. Step one is be clear in your vision. So you can't get to where you want to go unless you know where it is you are headed.
So this is really clear. It's just about having clarity in your goals, knowing what you want to achieve and who you want to become. OK, so what's the kind of person you want to be, Sam? Well, it's cool. Maybe it's like the glasses. Cool polite. Yes. Oh, my God. Amazing. Great Rouge number. Mr. Fusi is here. OK, so I want to be.
I just want you to be normal. No, I want to be happy. Right, OK, can I put just a throw tank in there? And this is why I think it's about that isn't manifesting. Because that is so vague. Don't tell me what manifesting is normally. Well, surely it's not because that's so vague. There is no clarity in what you're deciding there. Just being happy isn't a thing, surely, because what would make you happy?
No. Pete, you're more, you're already, you've gone there. Well, no, he just, he's right. But that's the problem is people, man, I want to be successful. I want to be happy. But what the fuck does that mean? OK, I want a dog. You don't need to manifest that. Just come with me and I'll get you a dog from a rescue center. As long as you manifest in it, bang. Instant.
Instant magic. Okay. Fucking yes. Roxy fucking help me. Please help me. Yes, he's right. If you have this kind of like vague idea of what you want, it's really hard for it to actually come into your life because it's about really deciphering like what will make you happy? How do you define success if you want to manifest a relationship or money? I'm gonna say it. I knew he was gonna say it.
Whatever it is that somebody listening might want to manifest, they need to understand what kind of relationship they want, exactly how much money they want. If they want a new career, what job is it, how do they want to feel within that role? Yes, sir. You don't have to put your hand up.
No, please let me have it there, please. The problem is, and I know why you've done that, is because you're now nervous because you're so out of your depth in this. Now I've got it. I know exactly what it's going to say. You're going to be blown away by this. I imagine so. This is going to be a bombshell. We're trying to use new terminology in the podcast, by the way. Yeah. So just the one bombshell used it twice in Liverpool. So I actually have manifested loads. OK. Before. Yeah. OK. I've done it everywhere.
I'm genuinely, I've done it on a walk. What do you mean? What happened? I've done it in my room. I've done it like, well, you've got to be comfortable and confident. I'm being serious. So I manifested, and this is a genuine thing. I manifested that I wanted to be in the jungle.
So what I would do is every time I would go for like, not every time, but there would be times where mentally I'd feel in a certain place and I'd go for a walk, right? And I'd put music on when I walk. And this is just one example, but I have loads of UP of like when I manifest about us and I'm being serious here, where I think about what it is that I want to do, the O2 being one of them, which we may or may not be doing.
but I have these thoughts and then we'll listen to like music and I will feel it and I will feel, being deadly serious, I will feel the emotion that it would feel like to either be on the jungle or do the O2 repeat or like start a podcast or like any of these things and I will feel like I'm in it and I feel like it's a reality in my stomach
And that is absolutely part of it. And let me give you some science behind why that works, just a little bit. Oh, there's science, isn't it? Yeah. Oh, there's surprises, energy. OK. Is energy. So it's not actually, but that is part of it. So the neuro science behind visualization is that our subconscious obviously accounts for 95% of our brain's activity.
When we visualize something regularly or we visually rehearse our goals or something we want to achieve, we prime our subconscious to reach those goals. So we'll filter out unwanted information and we'll seek out opportunities that are aligned with those goals.
So our subconscious starts doing the work for us. It starts, you know, noticing things. And this is all due to like lots of cognitive biases that we have. So then one of the cognitive biases we have is frequency illusion. So we start seeing things more often if we're focused on them. So if you ever bought a new car and then suddenly... Oh, he's just bought a new car. He's got a Porsche Carrera. Okay, congratulations. Why did we need to make... I mean, that's got nothing to do with it. I bought the car because I needed a car.
OK, so when you bought the car, did you notice, suddenly, that you kept seeing on the road? Not the time. Lots of those cars. Absolutely not. No, shut up. Shut up. Genuinely no. Yeah. Because why not? Do you know what? No, and I'm not even just saying that to be awkward. Genuinely no. And, like, no, I have, but maybe that's because I'm not observance. When they say, don't look at a red car and you see loads of red cars. Yeah.
It's like when you're playing GTA as well, if you're in GTA and you get into a certain car, you see loads. But that's because you're subconsciously looking out for them more than you would do. It's not because they're suddenly more red cars than normal. But that's what you're looking for is what you're actually saying. Yeah, subconscious is doing it for you. You're not trying to look for it. It's that your subconscious does. So it's a version then of like an LP in a way, which is, yeah, exactly. So it's that it does play into it. Yeah.
What's an LP? Neuro linguistic programming. So it's the power persuasion, which again is a lot to do with subconscious, but that's more used by people like Darren Brown to make people think that it's their decision. Actually, he's coaxed them into doing that subconsciously. So there's a really good film that explains NLP really well, which is Focus with Will Smith and Margot Robbie. And they use NLP loads and they expect con men. It's a way of manipulating people. Let's bring it back to the con. Is our Peter? It's a really good film, isn't it?
So it's all about a subconscious then basically what you're saying is it's actually scientific and it's not You're kind of ruining it for me because I genuinely thought I was making these things happen. No, but you are so that's only step one. Oh, we're only one step one. I know because we haven't let us speak
If we let it get through the other six I was, this could be a fucking double parter. I'm gonna wiz through. You've got to go. She's only got one step. There's no hope. I'm off. You know what I mean? OK, step one is be clearing your vision. OK, so just.
get clear on what you want from your life and who you want to become. And using visualization is a really great technique that we can use for that step. Step two is remove fear and doubt. So the secret of manifesting is that we can only manifest when we subconsciously believe we are worthy of receiving.
So self-belief is at the core of this practice. So if you dream about the house that you want, the partner that you want, the career that you want, but you don't actually believe you are worthy of having it, then you won't be able to attract it into your life.
And so this is the kind of inner work required to actually be able to just believe in yourself, believe that you're enough, believe that you're worthy of having abundance and love and success and money. And for me, this is the most important step in this practice. And it's why I think this practice is one that is so
like profound and life-changing. It's not just about sitting and wishing for something. It's also about working on these core beliefs that will change your whole experience of life. Yes. So you stop with the... I think it's so sweet. Thank you. It's very much, Roxie. I'm going to tell you something. Okay. Well, obviously I'm going to tell you something on a podcast, but as a night, I'm going to actually... I'm going to tell you something. Get on with it. Okay. So...
And you don't even know this. Get on with it. When I was younger. All right, Jesus. Is this a boarding school story? Yes, it is! When I was younger, I would manifest. Fuck me.
girls. And that I would like, I would be like, I would feel this like thing. But is this, is this a story about masturbation? If this is where we're going? This sound like it is sort of like, I would, people are fancy. I'm crying. People are fancy, right? I would be like, Oh my God, like, I just, I really want them to like message me. I really, I really fancy to do it. And I would think, I would think so strongly about the person I really liked.
and I would always end up with them. Yeah, to the point, to the point, why are you telling me why? To the point where I once got a text message from a Georgia. What? Yeah, yes, I really fancied a couple of Georgia. Right. And I was like, so was it some Georgia that messaged you? No, it was a different Georgia.
Okay, so you think there was just a miscommunication and the manifestation gods got the wrong Georgia. I genuinely do because this is mad. I was in my life. I honestly, I don't know what to do. I was so into this girl. I don't know if I can do this. And she didn't have my number and I didn't have hers. But she didn't message you. No, but in my head, for some reason I was getting driven home with my parents. And I remember being like, God, I really hope she messages me. I know she can't. I read just
but someone else called Georgia Messenger. And then someone else called Georgia Messenger. That is mad and also completely irrelevant. But it was my, it was my mate's sister who also didn't have my number. So it started with hi, I'm Georgia. Hi, it's Georgia. And I'm like, oh my God, it's worked. And it was the wrong Georgia, but I genuinely think... Was that not so disappointed? That it was, it was really disappointed. So what is the point of this story? I thought that the universe had actually pulled in a Georgia. Just the wrong one. Come on, that's pretty wild.
I don't know if I can do this. Honestly, I've never told anyone. I've never told anyone this. This is something like quite huge. She's a million people have bought Roxie's back. And you're single-handedly just breaking it off. That's quite interesting. Actually, let yourself into a little slice of my life.
Oh, all right. Well, okay. Excellent. So let's carry on. So the second step is remove fear and doubt. Yeah. That's where we were at. Yeah. I have fear and doubt. So that is making sure that you are worthy of everything that you want. Absolutely. Is that effectively in an nutshell? Yes. Step three is then align your behavior. So this is about taking action. So like we said, you can't think your way to success. You actually have to do the work you need to do to get to where you want to go.
So, this is about showing up as your best self, showing up as your future self. It's about- This is one you can take note of. Right, I'm going to be showing up in a shell suit. I don't know how much showing up Pete's going to be doing today. It's a reward. All right, and actually we like these sort of outfits. Back the fuck up. Yeah. So come as your best self.
Come as your best self. It's about stepping outside your comfort zone. And it's about it's about being proactive. And I think this is a step that Pete you might like because
It's proving that you're not just thinking about what you want and I'm waiting for it. Yeah, because that does nothing. This is actually working for it. Exactly. You have to do something. Get out of there and get it. You want. So we've got to be clear in your vision, remove fear and doubt, take action by aligning your behavior with your future goals and your future self. And then step four is overcome tests. Big one. This is a biggie.
Yeah, so I believe that on your way to achieving anything or manifesting anything that you want, you will be met with tests. And these tests come in the form of obstacles or challenges. They blow down the podcast charts. Has that happened? Well, we're not rising up. I imagine up to this, darling, yes. A few years ago, we were, we were, we were, I just sunk your rating. No, no, no. I'll be honest with you. I don't need you.
After a good few years of manifesting, we're now on the rise. What's I saying?
Sorry, we've taken you off course, overcoming tests in the universe. Oh, yeah. Okay. So this is a good case. So the test is how worthy do you really think you are perceiving? So the easiest way to describe it is like this. Imagine that you're trying to manifest a partner and you go on a date and it's unbelievable. And the chemistry is incredible. And then you don't hear from them. And then five days later, you get a tear.
Hey, what's up? Okay, to me, this is a test from the universe. So this is saying... Don't reply, because I haven't been messaging you. Yeah, this is saying, how worthy do you really think you are of the kind of respect, love? I'm replying in seconds, bro. I'm going to be honest with you. Someone messages me on five days, I'm sitting there feeling fortunate. I'm out there literally being like, mate, what do you need?
I'm in. I imagine the reason you probably, they waited five days is you kept calling them mate and bro. I imagine that's probably up there with part of the reason. I said voice notes. Fuck me. I'm really on. Oh, straight away. I can't like that. Yeah, straight, we can't hold the bullshit straight in. Yeah, I like that. One thing you do not do is cut the bullshit. So, okay, so overcome testing the universe. Would you not reply?
after five days. No, I would reply, but energetically I would be like, zoned out, mixed and mixed out. For me, that's a test from the universe. Easy. Yes. So really what it is, is I think that when you get to this place of feeling like you're worthy enough and you are feeling grounded in who you are and you have clarity in what you want, it's a lot easier to date because you're so much more aware of red flags. It's so much easier to walk away when something isn't working and then you don't keep yourself trapped in something. It's actually just draining your energy. I really don't want.
Exactly. So that's hard though. So I feel like you've got to overcome universal hurdles. You've got to almost know yourself better.
I'm not right there, am I? No, yeah. You are. No, I like that. I'm learning. And so don't look at me like that, Pete. No, listen, I'm enjoying this. Maybe this next one's for you, turning an envy into inspiration. That wasn't the next one, you've skipped one. Shit. Um... Racing gratitude about caveats. Yes, okay. Why don't we get home? No, no, I like it. I love the excitement. I really do, thank you.
I'm a first-minute texter. Thank you. And the first minute, come on. You know what I... See, that's not... No, she's high brow, Pete. We don't do that. Come on. Come on. It's two minutes, actually, but... Sorry, it was too easy. I'm sorry. Carry off.
Step five is embrace gratitude. So this is where the vibration stuff comes in. So you'll like this, Sam. This is where you're at. You've been waiting for this. Yeah, okay, here you go. Let's get ready for the bullshit. Okay, so everything in the universe is made up of energy. Okay, so the sky above us, the seat was sat on us. The only thing that differentiates one thing from another
is the frequency, is the vibrational frequency of the atoms and the density of them. So we thoughts and feelings have different vibrational frequencies as well. So you get things that have high vibrational frequencies and those are emotions such as love, peace, contentment, gratitude, joy. And then you have things that have a low vibrational frequency such as envy, fear, shame, guilt, sadness,
And the law of attraction states that like attracts like. So if you are operating... Behaviour breeds behaviour. Yeah. Yeah.
So if you're operating at high vibrational frequency, you'll attract things that match that frequency, and if you're operating on a low vibe, then you'll attract things that match that. So anecdotally, we know this to be true. So if you wake up in a foul mood, are those not the days that you forget your phone at home, you miss your train, your Uber cancels on you three times, you get any amount that really pisses you off, a bill comes through the door. 365 days a year.
But when you're in a good mood, when you feel genuinely like full of life, you're happy, you're on a high vibe, those are the days you're driving to work and all the traffic lights agree. Yeah, I do. Good shit happens. I completely agree with that. Don't say you don't, you fucking do. How good's the podcast been since you've been in a good mood? I'm not in a good mood.
Not now, but like you recently. No, but that's got nothing to do with that. See, it doesn't want to be. No, no, no, no. I'll give my two pence worth at the end. OK. Oh, fucking all right. The review. No, no, no, no. It's not a review. It's not a review. I actually find this very interesting. OK.
So gratitude has a very high vibrational frequency. And my mom used to say this phrase to me in Arabic, which literally translates as, for every thanks you give, you get a thousand in return. And so this really kind of explains this step perfectly. The thing is, you know, I am a very positive person, like I'm always looking at the bright side. And I have embraced this kind of like attitude of gratitude. I agree with you both. A whole lot of opposites. But similar poles.
Yeah, I see. Yeah. It's like a triangle. It is. Like a muta triangle. Yeah. Yeah. Because someone's lost. That was very good. Oh, thank you. I manifested a good joke today. Next up. So I think that there are lots of people listening who perhaps don't naturally have a positive outlook on life who can't see the glass half.
full but see half empty and I used to be very much like that and to say like I grew up in a household that was very negative my mom had this quote on the wall on our kitchen wall that I would see every single day and it read life is like a toilet roll it's only when you reach the end you realize how much you've wasted.
That's so true. I do have that with kitchen roll though. I don't know if you've ever been like... It's my next tattoo, so weird. You know when you use too much kitchen roll? No. No. Have you never done that? No. Oh my god, I have that exact quote with my kitchen roll.
I'm being deadly serious, bro. Please stop broing me. For the life of me, if you carry on broing me, I will harm me. I have, I overuse kitchen roll. And then you're like, I didn't need to use like three rolls of it just to like, just to clear something up. Could have used one sheet. You could have. Yeah. Now you have that quote in your mind. Exactly. One sheet, Sam. Imagine if it's, well actually I'm a three wiper. My point being,
Oh, Roxie, I'm so sorry. No, I'm loving it. That's a really good quote. Loving it. I'm going to steal it. I love a quote, by the way. But the point is that this wasn't a positive quote. No, yeah. Oh, is that not a good quote? I don't know what we can do here. Is that a bad quote? I feel like we potentially wasted it every once in a time. Is that a bad quote? It's quite downbeat, yeah. Oh, right.
When I tell this at my live shows, people think it's hilarious, but you are like, fucking love that. Yeah. The quote. Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. So anyway, embrace gratitude. No, no, no. I'm sorry. So you lived in a household with your mom. Yeah. And it was a little bit negative. I'm investing. Sorry. Sorry. So yeah, it's a very negative light. Life was not like we weren't taught to have a positive mindset, but by practicing gratitude every day, I have been able to rewire the way that my brain views life. And this has helped me on my manifesting process because it puts you in an abundant mindset.
I'm about to ask a question that is a little bit in deep. And don't lean away. For any listeners, we may have. I'm not sure there's many left. So this is just for both of you. How hard was it for you to retrain your brain to look from a positive outlook on life?
Actually, I think once I made the decision to stop playing the victim in my own life, it was actually quite easy and it didn't take long. I think within weeks of regularly practicing things like gratitude, using positive affirmations, falling asleep to affirmation, meditation, changing the way I spoke to myself.
It's an ongoing journey, you know, growth and self-development and healing. But I think change can happen incredibly quickly. It's actually getting to the point where you admit that you want to and need to change that takes the longest. Like pee and drinking. He's got a problem. And then once he makes that step to the side. Did you say you're not drinking? He's not at the moment. Congratulations! I know! How long has it been? No.
13 hours. No, no, no. I still drink, but I mean, I was drinking every day. But yeah, not in no. Obviously, everyone says not in a weird way.
Every run with the problem says that. No, now I drink like an event or web. I don't drink like I used to drink on a podcast or not touched a bit. Yeah, I don't think that's why we have. But yeah, and I didn't drink at all during strictly miserable, but the shakes have stopped. So that's good. No. Yeah, but that wasn't necessarily a conscious decision to do so. And I don't necessarily feel all that much different, if I'm honest with you.
Because it wasn't a conscious decision to stop drinking. Why did you stop? Because I was doing strictly. So I was just on a weird concentrating on that thing. It wasn't like, I'm going to stop drinking for that. Because you don't really have an actual problem. But for people who do. Yeah.
I don't think I'm a good example of that. Like I'm a very sociable luck person and so I used to drink when it comes to that and all the rest of it. But I can go out now and not drink and I can tolerate people which is probably the main reason that I was drinking was just to tolerate people. It's very, I agree with people. Oh vile. But he's not talking about me.
Or you. Or me. But I know what you mean. I think you've got to do that for yourself, don't you? Yeah. You've got to decide for yourself that I want to be this person. Yes. And then when that happens, it's full steam ahead. Yeah. I just think life can be great and good and enjoyable. And I think that for many of us, we did grow up believing that life is hard, especially I think our generation. I think it's actually quite different for Gen Z because I think
they are growing up at a time where people are more interested in self-development. But I think we grew up definitely and the generations above us in this idea that you shouldn't enjoy your job, you just get through it, life is hard, people are not nice, but actually things can be great and you can feel good about yourself and enjoy every day. You're great. I'm a big fan.
I'm a big fan. That's very kind. Next step. Next step. Step six is to envy into inspiration. So envy is low vibe. Envy comes from a scarcity mindset. So it says you have something and that might mean less for me. So let's say you see another podcast on the charts and you think you get that pang of envy. Actually, it's about being able to see you particularly.
I do love that podcast. Yeah, do you know there's one red-handed? No, no, no, no, no. He's fuckers, man. No, no, no. This is actually really interesting one for you, because one thing I will say, despite how pessimistic I am in life,
is I don't really look at what anyone else is doing. It doesn't bother me because it's well within my reach to do whatever I want to do, provided I work hard. There's enough work for everyone to go your own way and do your own thing and have your own USP. So you do look at other people. Podcast, yeah. Just generally and feel a bit of envy.
Mate, I hate it when people... I don't understand why this is... You're the wrong person to say this to. But I hate it when they're in... We're in the New Year and there's all these self-help podcasts. I'm aware they come from. Which is why we got you on, because we want to slice at that point. No, but this is... But that's a good... That is turning ambient inspirations. That's so true when we turn advantage. Yes. Getting Grace Beverly. Yes.
So, so this is this of all the ones so far is one that you really need to listen to. Understand. I feel like this is a good one for you. So how do we turn that into inspiration? Can I just say that Pete sounds a lot like you are manifesting because you've just said, I believe that I can do anything I want. We'll get on to this. Oh, OK. Don't you worry. Oh, fine. You've still got another step. Jesus Christ. Bloody hell.
Okay, so when we believe that there's an abundance of, for you with podcasts, right? It's about believing there's an abundance of listeners. There is enough people in Britain or the world that there is enough for all the podcasts to do well, right? And so I think this can be a really empowering step because instead of looking at other podcasts and being like, oh, why the fuck are they doing better than me?
Okay, let me just explain the red-handed ones. Who is red-handed? Red-handed, they beat us to an award about two years ago. Sam has never, never, never.
Never got over it. All right, he has never got over it. They are a podcast we've never met. They're nothing to do with us. They have got absolutely, they're not even the same category. They have nothing to do with us. But they won an award that Sam believed we should have won. I manifested that fucking award. What you did? Well, I fucking did. I manifested. That's why I think something happened. Well, maybe it was like when the manifestation gods gave you the wrong Georgia. Maybe there was another award that they'd given you secretly and you don't know about yet. I think it's coming.
It's coming. It is. It's coming. Yeah, so I should look at red-handed, basically, and then be, like, inspired. Inspired. Well, no, because actually then what happened is maybe you did, because then, because they'd won it three times in a row, they didn't end, they basically then went on the board of this fucking pod. It was the podcaster walls. So actually, it was a free reign for the year after. Did you win then? No, we didn't win then either. No, we didn't win. We didn't win then. So...
Yep, next time. Okay, so work to do there. So turn it into an inspiration. Turn it into inspiration, seek out to be inspired and to go step further, celebrate other people.
Love that. Okay, see, this is where we differ because I love it when people do well regardless. No, no, I like it when people do. And by the way, I don't mean it as you're a horrible person, like at all. I don't mean it like that, but you do care a lot about what other people are doing or you notice it more. And then it makes, yeah. Do you know what I really like? I love it when people I know do well. Yeah. I love that. Of course. So for example, like,
God, when Pete does something great, I will literally, I feel like I've done it. So like, for example, when Pete got strictly, I went with it. I thought I saw that. That was obviously so cool. We do extreme. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You see, you see that is sweet. What I saw that is that Sam was leaning towards the end of his reign as king of the jungle. So when I got strictly, Sam cried because he said, this is going to be great for us. Yeah, for us. So, yeah. Okay. I love it.
Yeah. But can I just say that envy doesn't make you a bad person? No. Envy is natural. And look at envy as a sign of what still needs healing or where you don't feel enough or where you feel that there's maybe some self-doubt still lingering that you could work on. Yeah. And the last step. Step seven. This is my got my favourite title.
Trust in the universe. Fuck me. I trust. I genuinely trust. Okay. Good. I like this. This is a step for you. But, trust in the universe is all about surrender. It's about knowing what you want and then letting it go. It's not about being completely obsessed with some. What? You know, you just let yourself go sometimes. It starts raining and you just go, fuck it. I'm just going to walk in the rain. Sam's recently watched the notebook.
Like, sometimes it's got to go for it. And you just let the universe do its thing. And I actually have to come in from Jamaica. I was in Jamaica recently. And after coming back, you literally just learn one love. And you just go, do you know what? Yes. It is what it is. In the words of Tommy Fury. Love Island. Very good point. Thank you. Oh, no, no. I think he's words. I didn't do it.
It's about not becoming obsessed. I think obsession comes from this desperate energy and a desperate energy comes from that fear and doubt which we are trying to remove in step two. So this is about knowing what you want and letting it go and then looking for coincidences to help you strengthen your trust in the universe. So when you're thinking about Georgia,
and a Georgia messages you. Perhaps you could see it. This is what I mean. And the sign, it doesn't mean you did manifest Georgia. No, no, I did. I could feel it. No, it was a different Georgia. We'll have to agree to disagree. But you can be thinking about someone and suddenly they message you or you're thinking about something you like and it comes on in the shop that you're in or whatever. And I think you get ready. You get what? Red is. What do you mean? You know, when you start getting red is and they start and people go, oh, my ears were burning.
You're just hot. No, no, I don't. No, as in, have you never seen that thing where you get red ears? And it's worked because people are thinking about... But where's the coincidence? No, because that's a universe thing. I don't think it is. No, I think that's just saying. Sorry, Roxie, we're just going to have a... I'm just saying things that are completely red. Because red ears, what I believe... No, but this is... I mean, we look stupid. I feel like, no, do you, Roxie, are you going to be reaping here? The universe makes it ears-bound. No, no, no. I think that is just a saying. All right.
Like, it's like, when you shiver, someone goes, someone's walking in the grave. No, no, no, no, no, no. You're caught. No, no, no, no, no. You're caught. No, no, no, no. I think someone's thinking of me when I'm like, it is going red. They might, but that's different. Somebody get your ears. Boiling. Boiling. Yes, I'm hot.
It is really fucking hot in it. It's absolutely sweating. I feel great. So let me just break it down quickly. Now this is how obvious it is. This is why manifesting works and this is why
This is why you believe manifest in work. This is why it does work. No, no, no, it does work. So you've not even closed yourself off to the fucking universe again. So if you get clear on your goals, you start to believe in yourself, you take action, you overcome challenges and persist through obstacles, you turn practice gratitude and have a more positive perspective on life, you turn your envy into inspiration,
and you have a sense of trust and letting go, then of course you're going to see a massive impact in your life. You know, it's impossible to do those seven things and not see an incredible transformation. I completely agree. I completely agree. And also, actually, I think what I think we can add to that. No, no, no, no, not at all. I think what we can add to that as well, if I'm mad. Yes, please, then, please, is also feel it.
feel it. I think that's something that's quite important. What feel what? I think you need to feel, I think we actually need to feel what we're manifesting. Yeah. Not touch it, like you don't want to touch something manifesting, but you want to feel it in your gut. Yeah. Jenny, you want to feel it. Would you like to add that as the eight step?
feel it in your gut. Generally, I've achieved everything in the eyes. No, I think it is part of it. It's part of that being able to put yourself in the mindset of your future. That's the thing, as if it's actually happening. Yes. And you put yourself in that thing and the universe will reward you. It's like, honestly, it's like, come time goes, here you go, mate. Yes.
Yes. Yeah. But anyway, look, we're going to hear Pete sort of round up, I suppose, on the amazing two times, Sunday times, best seller, Roxie Nafouci's manifesting masterclass we've really just had. Before we do that, we are going to say listen to Roxie's new podcast.
It's gonna do a lot better than ours, but don't worry, it's fine. The envy is sliding away and the inspiration is coming. The podcast is called Rise With Roxy. It's everywhere you get your podcasts. And as you can tell, she is incredibly eloquent and intelligent and very passionate.
Thank you. That was very nice, Sam. Thank you, Sam. Very nice. Just a peek. Now, tear all of that down with a dissection of what Foxy's just told us. I love you. Thank you. I love you too. I'm not going to tear it down, actually. My biggest problem with manifest is a word. A manifestation is people's lack of understanding. And the stupid fucking words used like trust the universe and all of that crap. It's self-development. Yes.
it's a mindset and it's changing your mindset and it's self-development and it's working on yourself and it's working hard and it's believing that you are worthy and having I completely understand all that and I think all of that is great and of course if you do all of those things your outlook on life is going to change and that's what it's about is changing your outlook on life and then being able to accept the good things that come your way completely get that love that I think it's great I have gone very I've gone very Sam on this I don't have an issue with any of that it's the people and
It's the whole idea that when people don't fully understand, and this is why it's probably important to read your book and why it's important to actually understand what it means.
Nice. Well done. But it's the overall idea, I think, is that people do not know what the fuck they're talking about. And that's the problem is because actually then what happens is people don't really look into things properly, do half an arse job at things, and then they end up victim blaming themselves when things don't work out because they believe they can just think about something and it will happen. That's bullshit. Utter bullshit. Is that not fair? Correct.
Right. Okay. And that's the problem is like you were saying before when you start talking about Jerome and holding hands and breathing and all that crap. Rubbish. Utter rubbish. The universe rubbish. That is not a fucking thing. The universe isn't going to give up. Actually, that's step seven. No, but that's what I believe is bollocks. The universe isn't a thing that's going to give you something. It's not someone up there controlling the universe gun. You deserve it now bollocks. That's complete and utter rubbish. So it's all the other stuff like that that I think is bullshit.
the whole mindset changing and believing yourself and working on yourself, I completely agree with. So I don't disagree. And actually, you're the first person I have ever heard explain it in a way that makes sense. I would add to that. Sorry, Carol. No, please do. Please tell us another story from boarding school. My one ad would be this, is that I know what Pete's saying, but I also think that
I empathize towards the people who turn to that because everyone is trying to act like people obviously in such a place they feel like they need something to turn to. Completely and utterly agree and I was about to get to the point of belief and it's something for people to believe and I completely understand that it's much like religion and there are so many different types of religion and you know I'm not a particularly religious person but I do not think it's a bad thing at all but again it gives people hope and belief.
But there's also a big danger with manifestation in my eyes if you don't understand it, because when things don't go your way, it actually makes you feel worse about yourself. And that's a fucking massive problem, isn't it? So it's really, it's a lack of understanding and the overuse of the word that is my biggest problem with manifestation.
Not the necessary the process and what you're saying there because of course all of those things and by doing those things is going to give you a better outlook on life and make you a more positive person, which is a wonderful thing. I don't disagree with that at all. It's the fact that people don't understand enough and talk shit. And also there's an awful lot of people that claim to fucking manifest this and fucking that and be experts in blah, blah, blah and all that bollocks that are talking rubbish. Is that fair? Yeah.
Yes. We're not going to name names. Yeah. Yeah. Although we can. No, we won. But I think what you've said is really eloquent. I don't like the phrase in. Yeah. By the way, you know, when I say talk about the universe, for me, the universe to me is just energy. I just believe in the power of energy. This is where I'm going to see. And as you're saying, in terms of vibrations and atoms and all that, that's that's factual. Yeah. So I don't have people energy. The universe is God, by the way.
But yeah, completely. And that's not necessarily, you know, a bad thing. But again, that's a belief system. And the manifestation, I believe, is a belief system. Hold on a second. So the energy vibrations put the hands down because I am not light rock seat. I will not. I will just ignore the hands. OK.
But when you talk about energy like that, you're talking about in terms of vibrations, atoms, all that sort of stuff. When you talk about german, you're sharing energy is the point that I have an issue with, because that is rubbish. And that's the problem is the confusion between what is utter fucking bollocks and what the truth is that has got scientific fact behind it, i.e. NLP, the belief, the positive, all of that sort of stuff. So I don't disagree. I just think the terminology sometimes is bullshit. And I think there are a lot of morons that don't understand. Can we transfer energy?
Huh? Right. Oh, fuck me. What do you mean? This is the thing. Sam is about to tempt an energy transfer with Roxy. No, I don't understand what this means. I am quite happy. Just just just be in the moment. What do you think about energy transfer? Oh, can't wait for this. Exactly. Well, no, it's just something to do. It's just like if someone will just grab all of you, like Pete, right? Yeah, that's called a salt. And you know, and you go,
Fuck off. Yes, definitely. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, genuinely. So this is what we're talking about, Jerome. Basically, there's a guy who will give me his energy. Do we give you his energy? He will incite his energy on me.
What kind of energy? Mate, he'll literally put his hands on him. It's quite sticky and white. No, don't be crass. He will put his hands over me, right? And he'll go, and he'll breathe, and I will feel warm afterwards. That's his breath. No. Look, I do know that there are energy transference. Energy transference. And it's doing treatments like Reiki. That's what it is. Which I'm definitely not kind of gonna poo poo because I don't. Oh, Pete's more than poo, he's diarrhea. He's all over it.
Do you know what I mean? Like, my God. Just for the sake of listeners, I haven't followed through or anything like this. Fuck me. I believe in the universe. I believe in energy transfer. I believe that if I was in the universe. Do you know what I think? I don't think it actually matters if it's true or not. I think it can make you feel good in a way. It's like sector. Like, just got to believe. Yes. If it makes you feel inspired and if it makes you feel better,
The actual truth of it doesn't matter. It's like magic. Magic is so good. It's so amazing to watch magic. Do you really want to know how they did it? Why would you, how boring? And Roxanne, the same as you. You want to be amazed. You want to be taken as well off Harry Potter. I want to know how it's done. Yeah, see, that's the problem. That's the issue. And I do just need to ask you quickly, uh, astrology, where are we at on that?
Because you know, like, what's your star sign that's where we're going to go? Well, well, you know, I just don't know. I fucking love a star sign. So do I love a star sign? OK, no, I love a star sign. OK, what's the star sign of you? I'm Leo. What are you? Leo! OK. What do you think I am? A scorpion. A scorpion. Yes, stinging little bastard. Yeah. We'll get into your shoe and just sting you like a little scorpion with you. You want to bang your boots up and make sure we've got to be wicks finally. Yeah, such a Leo, such a scorpion. Do you know what I think is that I don't believe in the daily horoscopes.
But you know, when you can do, like the first thing I do when I'm dating someone. Just have a look at that. It's having a really easy act. Of course. No, it's Google. OK. Leo, woman. OK, so what is your best match? What is our best match? We're quite good with Sagittarius. Really? Yeah. You've made that up.
Aries, Gem and I, Leo, I think we're all pretty good. Okay, let's just have a look, shall we? Yeah, let's have a look. So you're both Leo, yeah? Yeah. What is a good match for Leo? Star sign. So Aries, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Libra, your worst matches are Scorpio. Scorpio and Taurus.
Yeah, Taurus is not for me. I love all of that kind of stuff. I love the stars, I love astrology, and actually, interestingly, I love a Mercury retrograde. Okay. But you don't love to say it, do you? I love the idea, but we just don't love the pronunciation. I love a Mercury in retrograde. Okay. Well, look, I mean, let's get on to... Do you like a Mercury in retrograde? Do you believe in any of that? I mean, fuck me.
I'm going to leave this part here based on the fact that I think you have explained manifestation better than I've ever heard. And I don't disbelieve everything. I just disbelieve people. OK, Pete loves his crystals. So what do we think about that? Do you believe in crystals? I don't own crystals. OK, Roxy, do you believe that I love crystals? No, absolutely. I love crystals. OK, wonderful.
What? No. No, you don't love crystals. You've got yourself two poxy little necklaces around your fucking neck because you think they look good and now you're trying to tell people that you've been on a gap yard and you love a crystal. I've got amethyst. Right? Amethyst. Yeah. And what does that mean? Takes my old bird energy. Does it? Well, it doesn't because I'm still setting it up. You suck right next to it.
the drain in the drain. I sometimes have just sacred. So yeah, thank you for listening to Sam relevant podcast. Make sure you rate reviews, all of that sort of stuff. Follow us on socials at stambler podcast. Do all usual crap. We get some photos. We are going to do. We are still in an outro. Oh, sorry. But we can anything you want to add? Uh, rocks. Last words. I'll say I do. I will say this. We've got a great pair of boots on you.
Oh, thank you so much. OK, that's OK. Wonderful. We were all worried about what was going to come out there, but it just in case for anyone who missed it, it's boots. And he was talking about the footwear. Roxy, anything to add? She's so professional. OK, it looks so professional. You're wearing shoes. Well done. Roxy is anything you want to add.
Um, no, that was great. Thank you so much for having me. I really am. I'm so fucking hot. As am I. Would you come back? I would love to come back. Thank you so much. OK, wonderful. Maybe next time you've got something to plug. So, uh, shut up. Oh, we should so do pictures. This has been a staying, relevant production.
