Understanding the Winter Uglies
Kaylie opens up about the common struggle many face during winter—feeling down and lacking confidence. January often feels like the longest month, and as daylight fades, so can our motivation and mood. Understanding this feeling is the first step towards combatting it.
Recap of a Bright Winter Trip
- Kaylie shares her experience on a recent brand trip to Whistler, Canada. This trip not only lifted her spirits but also served as a valuable reminder of the joys winter can bring, such as beautiful snow, new friendships, and outdoor activities.
- The trip highlighted the importance of surrounding oneself with positivity and new experiences, especially when seasonal sadness sets in.
Top Tips for a Winter Glow-Up
Here are some essential tips from the podcast to help boost your mood, confidence, and overall well-being during winter:
1. Embrace Self-Tanning
- Self-tanner or spray tans can drastically improve your appearance by providing a sun-kissed glow, which is a huge confidence booster.
- Kaylie also recommends using facial tanners for an added glow during winter.
2. Prioritize Skincare
- Hydration is key! Maintain a consistent skincare routine with thick moisturizers to combat dry skin.
- Incorporate products like Vaseline for dry patches, while always being cautious if you have acne-prone skin.
3. Stay Active
- Create a workout schedule to stay physically and mentally healthy. Aim for at least three workouts a week to boost mood and energy levels.
4. Pamper Yourself
- Treat yourself to manicures, pedicures, or facial masks to enhance your self-care routine and improve your mood.
- Kaylie suggests using hair masks and oils to keep your hair looking vibrant, particularly during the harsh winter months.
5. Dress to Impress
- Wearing outfits that make you feel good, even if they are more casual, can improve your confidence. Matching nails and toes or accessorizing with jewelry can contribute to feeling put together.
6. Utilize Light Therapy
- Red light therapy is beneficial for improving mood during the winter months. Spending time with light helps mimic the sunlight we miss during winter.
7. Boost Your Smile
- Kaylie discusses the effects of whitening toothpaste on enhancing your smile, which can have an uplifting effect on your confidence.
8. Maintain a Clean Living Space
- A clean home adds to your overall sense of well-being. Make it a priority to keep your living space organized and clean to feel better mentally.

guys, welcome back to another episode of the Hawkerel Energy podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week, a new mindset, and another day for you to become the Hawkerel Energy you want to attract. Hello, you guys. Happy Wednesday. And welcome back to another episode. I apologize in advance for not having an episode up last week. I thought we were going to have the time to record an episode, Tren and I when I was in Vancouver,
visiting her just for the day, to be honest, right before we left for our brand trip. And the time just slipped away and we were so focused on just, yeah, prepping for the trip, which I kind of want to get into. I'm going to do a little bit of a trip recap here just of what happened these past few days and talk about some winter ugly tips because let's face it, we're in the deep part of January. It's still January. It feels like the longest month ever. It always does.
And I always just find this is the time of year where I personally feel just like not confident in myself. And I just like need things to just like do a little glow up. You know what I mean? Like just little things that make me feel better and more confident. And I'm always, always, always in the winter uglies around this time of the year. So I'm sure a lot of people can relate. So I thought I would share some tips on what you can do just to kind of
boost your confidence, make yourself feel good, look good, all that. So we're going to get into that as well. But anyways, as most of you guys know, I mentioned it on the last episode, but I went on a brand trip with the brand guests. We
We're in Whistler, Canada, which was so insane, guys. I've actually been to Whistler a handful of times, but every single time I've gone, it's been in the summer, not the winter, where Whistler is literally known for their winter season there with all the skiing and the mountains, all that. So I was very excited to go on my first brand trip of the year. Great start to the year.
And of course, the brand sends me an email and my manager tells me that Trinity was also invited on the brand trip, which could have not been more perfect because as you guys know, I'm sure some of you actually listened to Trinity's podcast, The Wellness Cafe.
but we are very close and I actually plan to go see her this month anyway just because I haven't seen her in six months. So we were due for a little long distance bestie catch up trip. So I was going to go see her and then we got this opportunity of this brand trip and I'm like, oh my goodness, like as if I was going to come see you and then this happened. So I asked the brand if I could go a day early so I could stay with Trent and just kind of catch up with her, plan everything for the trip that we had.
In Whistler all that so I was able to fly out a day early and I spent the entire day with her in van She was just kind of showing me her favorite spots lately and I have actually been to a lot of her go-to spots because I traveled to go see her a lot But there were some new things that she introduced me that was good and then we came into a bit of a situation and
where our outfits for the trip were all by gas. So usually when you want a brand trip, sometimes with a lot of clothing brands, obviously they want you to wear their clothes for obvious reasons because you're promoting the brand and all of the outfits that we selected for the trip didn't come in on time, which was very stressful because guys, I packed basically an empty suitcase.
Like I packed nothing but like my moon boots, a pair of jeans, you know a black turtleneck and like just kind of like thermal long sleeves and pants since it was a winter trip so I figured okay for warmth purposes I should probably have this stuff again. Hats, mitts, accessories, I think I brought maybe two bikinis. Just like very minimal things like no dinner outfits nothing because I assumed
that I was getting these outfits to wear on the trip. So they tell us that it's not going to be in on time and we're immediately stressing. We're like, uh, okay. So what are we going to do? And they said, you need to go to the closest guest store in Vancouver and go pick out outfits there. So we're like, okay, that's not an issue. We find out that the closest guest store to downtown Vancouver is two hours away. So it was basically a four hour trip out of our night. It was
The night before we left on the trip and it just was like a little chaotic, not going to lie. Like it's kind of stressful, obviously not knowing what you're wearing now for a trip that you've been planning for like the past month. So anyways, we eventually get to the guest store and Trent and I had like, I'm talking like 30 pieces each.
in this change room, trying on different things, what looked good, what didn't look good, trading things to see, you know, it looks better on trend versus me, whatever. And eventually we did find some outfits, but all in all, it's just stressful knowing that I had no clothes and I was heavily relying on the stuff that we had to pick. All in all, the outfits ended up turning out really good, but just in the moment it was very stressful. And then the next day they picked us up, we headed to Whistler with two other girls who are from LA.
that were so sweet and it's just so funny because obviously I feel like a lot of LA girls have never been around snow. Some have, some haven't, it just depends. Anyways, the two girls that we were with, they've only seen snow twice so they are not used to the cold obviously so it's just like super funny because obviously if you're from Ontario like me or from Canada then you guys know the snow and the cold and our bodies have just honestly adapted to this temperature which is so crazy.
It's just so funny to me when I see people that aren't used to this weather. So that, and then we got there and we stayed at the Four Seasons Whistler, which is such a gorgeous resort. If you ever plan a trip to Whistler, I highly recommend that hotel. It's conveniently located beside all the mountains, close to the Whistler Village, all that. It's super, super cute and just absolute gorgeous aesthetics, obviously.
So we got there and the room was all decked out, of course, which was so nice. And we had our first dinner where we met a lot of other influencers and there was a lot of girls from Chicago that were so, so sweet. I got along really well with one girl named Kate. Oh my God, she's literally the sweetest. I actually miss her just like bonding with people and like having an immediate connection is literally the best feeling. I'm sure like you guys can relate to that when you meet someone either at a party or at a work event or just someone that you work with, whatever, like
I feel like when you bond with someone immediately, it's like, do we just become best friends? Like, I don't know. That was our immediate interaction and we just had the best time on the trip together. And yeah, she was just the sweetest person. And we met a lot of New York influencers, LA influencers, all that. There was about 12 of us, I believe, which is actually pretty small for a brand trip. I usually feel like there's a lot more people and it's hard to meet everyone.
But because we were a smaller group, it was really nice to connect with everybody and get to know everyone a little bit. And a lot of the people actually already followed. So it was just kind of funny to obviously meet them in real life and connect with them. And everyone was super sweet and so nice. And it was, yeah, just like really refreshing to meet new people in the same industry. So that was great. So the first day we went up to the mountain. It was a fur day. So we had to wear like our fur coats with our cute little outfits and guys
We had to wake up at 7.30 every single morning because the shuttle picked us up at 8.30 to bring us to the events. And Tren was so sick, guys. Like, she woke up and she immediately was like, no, I am not feeling good. I wasn't feeling 100% either, but I was wondering, I wasn't feeling well maybe because of the altitude, because I'm from Ottawa and Vancouver and being in Whistler, obviously we're up in the mountains.
I don't know. I wasn't sure if maybe that's why my stomach was hurting or because of what we ate the night before, which there was a seafood tower and usually I'm not a huge seafood girl, especially just because I feel like my stomach kind of reacts to certain things differently sometimes. So I ended up having a piece of shrimp. That's it. I didn't have much from the seafood tower, but Trent dabbled into it a lot. So we're thinking she probably ate something bad.
because guys she was so sick. Like I'm talking like body aches, sweating, like you name it. Like she just was not doing good. And so she ended up having to go back to the hotel room because she was so sick. So I went back with her because I wasn't feeling 100% and I just kind of felt bad. I didn't want her to have to go down all the way from the mountain in Whistler back down to the hotel, like just through the gondola. So I'll make you know what, I'll come with you and like we'll chill in the hotel room. We weren't missing much honestly was just like a photo shoot in the mountains.
So I went down with her to the hotel room. She slept was feeling a bit better. So then we decided to go to the dinner, which was in this cabin in the mountains. I started to feel better. So I was like, it must have just been from, I don't even know. Again, just an upset stomach and I ended up feeling a bit better. Trin on the other hand was still extremely sick. So I said to her, I'm like, if you're feeling this way tomorrow, like you really shouldn't get on the helicopter ride because obviously going on a helicopter is
quite an interesting experience, at least what I assumed at the time. I've never been on a helicopter, but I'm like a small plane thinking about how much movement there is. I can't imagine how much movement there is on a helicopter. So I'm like, you're going to get like serious motion sickness if you're on that. And she's like, no, that's so true. So we went to bed that night after our dinner and she woke up and she's like, yeah, I'm not going on that helicopter ride. I don't feel good, which literally broke my heart just because we were looking forward to this trip so much.
And it just was such shitty timing for her to not be able to, like, attend the events and all that. But anyways, she honestly was a champ through it all. Like, she tried so hard to attend everything, but, like, there was only so much she could do. And she was glowing at the same time. Like, you would have no idea that this girl was sick. Like, she literally looked like she got off the red carpet.
Honestly like crazy to know that she was so so sick So anyways the next day was the helicopter ride and if you guys listened to my last episode I talked about how I wasn't sure if I was gonna do it or not because It was something that was very out of my comfort zone. I'm not afraid of heights. I'm not afraid of flying like I'm very much like into really anything I don't have a huge fear of doing those kinds of things Like bungee jumping whatever like I don't really have a fear for that But for some reason because it was something that was new
and something that I've never done before. I was a little anxious and stressed about it and wasn't sure if I was actually gonna pull through and do it. But I don't know, there was something in my gut that was like, you're never gonna have this opportunity again because you would think obviously paying for a helicopter ride would be quite expensive. So I'm like, I don't know if we'll ever have this opportunity again. So I'm just gonna shut my eyes and just do it and just hope that it's the most amazing experience.
And when we got up in that helicopter and I was literally just looking at all the snowy mountains in Whistler, like right there, I was just like, this is one of the best days of my life. Hands down, like one of the best experiences I've ever done in my life, I almost started to cry honestly because it was just so beautiful and
I don't even know. I can't even explain the experience that I experienced on the helicopter. Everything seemed so magical. It almost seemed fake. It just didn't seem real that we were seeing those things up in the sky and just being so close. You literally felt like you were going to touch the tip of the mountain because a helicopter would fly so low.
And of course, eventually they had a little fun with it and like we're, you know, spinning around in the sky. And anyways, it just was the most insane experience. And then we landed on top of a mountain in Whistler, which like what on top of a mountain? Like it literally felt like we were on a different planet. Like it felt like we were in space or something. Like it just was the most unreal experience.
And I went in thinking I was going to freeze my friggin butt off on the top of the mountain just because we're so high up. Um, we're literally in a mountain and it was not that cold at all. Like, Ottawa is colder than what I felt on top of that mountain, which is crazy to say. I literally was like, this isn't saying that my city that I live in is colder to walk the dog outside than it is on this mountain, which is so crazy. And then we had our final dinner altogether at this like wine cellar.
which trend was able to make it to, which thank God, I was so happy she was able to make it to something because she wasn't feeling well all trip, but she was able to make it through that. And we also got like massages, we had a spa day, all that, like the brand really went full out for this trip. And it was a trip of a lifetime. Like I'm very grateful that I was able to meet a lot of new people, have that trip with guests. And it was just a great way to start the new year off. And I'm very grateful for my job and the opportunities that I was able to
Yeah, just be on the trip. So that was kind of a little recap of what happened last week and why I wasn't able to post an episode. So if you don't follow me on Instagram or TikTok, definitely make sure to do so. I'm also going to post a vlog from the trip. I've logged the entire thing because my YouTube girlies wanted to see it. So I made sure to vlog the entire experience. So now let's talk about getting out of the winter uglies because I am feeling it so hard right now. And I think it's just because
We're in the middle of January, you know, it's very normal to feel this way. I feel like a lot of people can relate in the colder weather and people who aren't near the sun don't have a tan, you know, it's very gloomy here in the winter usually. So sometimes our confidence is just not always at its prime like it is in the summer. So I thought we could chat about some tips on how to have a little glow up and just
how to feel your absolute best self. Now, as most of you know, I'm actually going down south on Wednesday. So I'm actually going on another trip, which I'm very grateful for, but I'm very excited because I'm going to be going to the sunshine, which I think will definitely help a bit of the winter uglies for me personally is just being on a beach, being in front of the sun, getting a tan. It's definitely going to help boost my confidence, but I want to talk about some things that you can do from home to really just boost your overall mood. So one thing's for sure is self
Tanner or spray tans or anything like that. Let's be honest here. You feel better with a tan. Any girl does. It's the definition of a confidence booster. I feel better with a tan period. There's nothing to even explain on that. But one thing that I've been doing recently that I feel like has definitely helped boost my confidence as well.
is facial tanners. I've actually been using the technique that I saw on TikTok, which is the contour self-tanner trek where you take a makeup brush and your self-tanner that you would use all over your body. And essentially, you just contour the areas of your face that you would contour with makeup. So, you know, your cheekbones, your jawline, a bit on your forehead, if you want to do a little bit on your nose and eyelids, all those areas that you would use to contour your face with a contour stick.
you would use yourself 10 or four. So I did that for the first time before I left for my trip. And guys, it worked so well. I didn't break out, which was nice. I was a little concerned about that, but it definitely did not break out. And it stayed on my face for maybe only three days. I think you have to be pretty consistent with it if you wanted to stay just because with you taking off your makeup,
Um, you know, using skincare products, all that, it's just going to fade faster compared to your body. Um, so that was just like the one con, but if you keep up with it, like every three days, it really does make your face look so snatched. I was really, really shocked. The brand that I use is Jerkins. It's just the Jerkins express cell Tanner. The color is so natural, which is what I love. It's not like overly orange. It's not overly dark. And the tan last me, I think,
like my full body like four to five days, which I feel like is pretty good. And then usually by like a week, I'll exfoliate and just scrub off the tan and reset and redo it. So I've been trying to make that a priority for every Sunday. Again, just with being in the winter season, I feel like when I have a tan, I feel better.
and I feel more competent in myself. And I just, yeah, I feel like every girl needs a tan. Another thing I love to do is keep up with my skincare routine, especially because going into the winter season, I feel like everyone's skin is a little bit more dry and not moist. So keeping up with a good skincare routine is essential. So things that are like my non-negotiables in my skincare routine, a big one is a thick moisturizer, or honestly, right now I've actually been using Vaseline,
Which if you have acne prone skin, I don't recommend Vaseline. Obviously do your own research. Don't trust me because I'm not a dermatologist or a skincare doctor or anything. But based on my research, Vaseline is actually one of the top moisturizers slash skin barriers for people who have really, really, really dry skin. And guys, when I tell you I have dry skin, I have dry skin. If you guys watched my most recent YouTube video, then you guys know that I had a bit of an experience with my face just with the overly dry skin.
I actually found out that basically what happened was that I was noticing like dry patches of skin on my cheeks just from hot showers or dry skin from the winter. And what I decided to do was I decided to exfoliate my skin with a like oil cleanser. And as I was doing that, I was trying to rub off, you know, like dead skin that you would rub off? I was trying to rub that off my face and it basically caused a like
not like a reaction, but I think it was just like raw skin coming through. And my entire face was red and covered in hives. And I was so concerned because I'm like, Oh my God, like, did I just damage my skin? Like, is this, this is going to be permanent? And I started to do some research and they were like, if you overly dry skin and you basically, you know, peeled off the dead skin, it recommended to put aloe vera just to reduce the redness and then Vaseline on very dry skin as basically it would help
and heal and you get the dryness. So I've been using Vaseline and let me tell you, my skin has completely changed. My cheeks are a thousand times better. So again, don't use it though. If you have acne prone skin, I've never had acne. So I'm was able to use the product, but don't use it just cause it says it's not the best for acne prone skin. But I also hear the, I think it's the barrier butter from road, I believe is really good. It's just a really thick, thick moisturizer.
So that's like the key thing I think for skincare routine in the winter season and also just to make sure that you're consistent with your sunscreen, your eye cream, any oils, a lip balm. You guys know my go-to lip balm is usually the summer Fridays one. I just find the summer Fridays one is the best because I find it keeps my lips moist and it doesn't feel sticky. It just feels like an oil almost. Whereas like don't get me wrong, I love the brand road, but I just don't find their lip plumpers that good. Like I have to be honest,
I find it's like very sticky on my lips and it's almost like bumpy which I've actually seen a lot of people talk about that and they said that you have to put it in like boiling hot water to basically separate the product and solution for it to not be bumpy and sticky which doesn't make any sense to me because like if you're paying that much for a product then you have to like
ever so often put it in hot water. It's kind of like, well, what's the point of paying all that money on a lip balm if you have to do that? I don't know. That's just my hot take on that. I love every other product I wrote. I love their milk leasing milk, all that. And some of their tents were going out for their lip products are good. It's just like not a good everyday lip balm in my opinion. So if you need a good everyday lip balm, I highly recommend the summer Fridays. I personally love the mint flavor or the vanilla one.
It's just like the ones I use every single day as part of my skincare routine and I just love it so much. Another thing to do to get yourself out of the winter uglies is create a workout schedule. If you do not have a workout schedule, what are you doing? You guys know on this podcast, we always talk about finding ways to just make yourself feel good and let me tell you, you feel good after a good workout.
One thing that I always try and do is I try and book at least five workouts a week, if not six sometimes. Again, that seems pretty extreme. And again, if that's too much for you, that is totally fine. I personally think on average, everyone should work out at least three times a week. I personally think that's the most realistic schedule for a lot of people who work a busy job, a nine to five. It gives you time to do it on the weekend mornings or, you know, a night after work or before you start working the mornings.
But three times would probably be the most ideal for anyone to just keep yourself in the best mental health state. Again, working out doesn't only just help you physically, but it really does help your mental health. And I think that's why I personally love working out is it just like reduces my anxiety, my stress, my mental health. For an example, I just got back from my trip yesterday and I had a workout class booked for seven 30 this morning.
Was I tired? Absolutely. Because I feel like every time when you come back from a trip, it's always hard to get back into a routine. But I feel like one thing for me is just, you got to just jump right back into it. Like you can't just ignore it. You just got to jump back into it. And I personally find that helps me out. And I just eventually get back into that consistent routine because I just buck the workout. I go to it. I suck it up. I push through it. It's just like my way to motivate myself to get back into the swing of things and get my shit together.
That's a tip if you're someone that's also locking a routine or anything like that. I think it's important just like push yourself to get back into it and yeah, it's just, it's so worth it and it feels so good doing it. Another thing I love to do that makes me feel more put together is getting a manicure and pedicure. I love matching my nails with my toes. It feels very put together. I love having almost like a matching set, right? Like matching fingernails with your matching toes.
I got my nails done, so now I just have to get my toes done, and I'm gonna do the exact same color. Right now I have this pink chrome color for my bead strip, which I love, and then I'm probably gonna do pink. I might not do pink chrome on my toes, I might just do the same color of pink, so it matches, but yeah, I think it's perfect for a bead strip. I also just love a good neutral nail. You guys know that I'm all about my bubble bath nail color. It's just the most perfect neutral pink color.
Another color is called the ballet slip I believe which is again the most perfect sheer pink
This time I did more of a brighter pink. This one, I actually don't know what it's called. I didn't get the name of this one. I actually filmed the TikTok on this. So if I see the name of what's on the bottle, I will put the name in the caption. That way if anyone's interested in trying it out, but it really does look really nice and I love the chrome finish. Getting facials or even putting on face masks or eye masks, again, all about keeping our skin moisturized, our skin looking nice and clear.
I've been wanting to get back into facials. I have not been back since my wedding because before my wedding, I decided to do a facial every single month. And I will say that really did help my skin because I felt like my skin wasn't as dry this time last year because I was consistent with going to get facials done. So I was doing hydrophacials every month and it just really made a difference for my skin. So I really want to get back into that.
It is quite costly. That's the only thing, which honestly sucks, but I do really, really enjoy getting them done. So maybe it's not an every month thing. Maybe it's every two months, but I feel like at least if I'm doing something for my face by doing that, I think it's beneficial, but also just doing eye mask weekly or face mask, like something easy to do from home.
I love those face masks, the ones that have gone viral on TikTok. It's like the white mask that you put on your face and then like four hours later, it's clear. You can sleep with it overnight. You can keep it on I think for six to eight hours or something like that. And it like makes your skin look crystal clear. I love those ones. Another brand I love is the brand Dr. Jerk, I think it is. And they have again, a lot of like moisturizing ones, all that. So those are probably my two favorite face masks that I've been using.
um, other weekly or bi-weekly. Another thing that we need to focus on is our body care, because I feel like this is something that people neglect doing, including myself. Like sometimes I just don't want to do my body care. I'm, you know, I just feel like it's an extra step in my routine that I don't have to do, but I do think it's beneficial to spend that time after a hot shower to do body oils, lotions, hand lotions, you name it. One body oil that I've been loving is the brand La Accutaine.
I've been using their shower body wash as well as the body lotion and body oil. And it's so good. I feel like 10 times better after I do a full body lotion routine. I find my skin's glowing. I feel like, I don't know, everything's more defined. You know what I mean? Like it just oil is, I don't know, the most amazing thing ever in my opinion, especially like for the face.
For the body, it just, yeah, makes you look so clean and you just feel really good after doing it. If you are looking for a hair glow up for your hair to just look healthier, feel better, hair masks, hair glosses are your go-to thing. You can do them at home. You don't have to go to the hair salon. If you want to go to the hair salon and pay, I think it's like $40.
You can actually get a hair gloss treatment done there and it lasts up to six weeks. I love doing those. I try and do those once every two months because I find my hair looks amazing when I get a hair gloss done professionally, but there is hair glosses that you can buy over the counter. I believe the brand Redkin has a really, really good one that you can get and you just do it after your conditioner for like 10 minutes, I believe, and it makes your hair look super shiny after. And then one of my go-to hair masks that I love is the brand Gisoo.
a hair mask that you just use in the shower again after you're done using conditioner and you leave it in for like 10 to 15 minutes and then you wash it out. So that's my favorite hair mask lately. I've also been taking hair vitamins to help with shedding as well as hair loss, hair growth, all that, the brand, Nutriful. It was actually recommended to be one of the top brands.
and I've been sticking to it and I'm really excited to see the results in the next few months of being consistent with it because I think one thing that's my main problem is my shedding just because I have a lot of hair. I feel like my hair sheds pretty bad as well as just like the thinning in my roots because I do a lot of slick back looks for workout classes or I just, I don't know, I like my hair slick back whenever I'm going out sometimes just go slick back ponytail. It gives you like a facelift. I don't know if anyone else can agree to that but
I truly do feel like when I wear my hair and it's like by ponytail, it just like looks, my face looks ten times better because it's all nice and slick and it's away from my face and I just feel like it looks so good.
So yeah, I'm just hoping that the vitamins will help with like the thinning around my roots. So I'll keep you guys updated on that. It's still very new to me, but definitely already noticing a bit of the results with less hair shedding, which is great. I've also been using rosemary oil, like dabbing into the hair care routine is something that I've been really trying to focus on this year is just having a better hair care routine. So I've been using rosemary oil on my hair wash days around my scalp.
as well as just any areas that could use some growth. So just like split ends, you know, broken hair, anything like that. So yeah, again, this is all new to me. This is something that I've started for this year is just getting into a hair care routine. So I will keep you guys updated always when I'm trying new things. And if I think it's worth it or not, another thing that always feels good doing is putting a bit of makeup on each day. So
Taking the time to actually get ready each day will definitely improve your confidence and improve your overall mood. I find just spending 10 minutes a day of doing like a no makeup makeup look by adding some bronzer, adding some blush, adding some freckles and a bit of lip gloss and a lip liner. That to me right there just makes me feel 10 times more confident in myself.
And if you're the kind of person that just feels pale and wants to feel more tanned, I love doing a warmer look to my makeup. So adding a lot of bronzer, finding blushes that are in the warm tone. So something that looks more sun kiss. So more of like a deeper pink and almost a brown pink, if that makes sense.
doing brown tones and warm tones for your makeup will truly really make yourself look 10 times tanner than you actually are and it will completely just improve your overall look and you'll just feel 10 times better doing it. So if there's one tip that I could recommend to do daily is just spend the 10 minutes of putting a bit of makeup on each day and you'll feel more put together. Another thing I actually find that helps me feel more put together as well is adding some jewelry on every single day.
adding a big pair of gold hoops, adding some rings, putting some bracelets on, maybe even a watch, adding a necklace. Like I love layering my jewelry. And I feel like if it's like an everyday look of putting on jewelry with like a slick back ponytail, your 10 minute makeup, no makeup look with like a matching set, immediately right there, you're going to look 10 times more put together because it looks like you put a lot of effort in, but you really didn't. Like it's a very minimalistic
clean girl, no makeup makeup kind of vibe by adding the jewelry, adding the matching set, adding the slick back ponytail with the no makeup makeup look or even just your hair down. It doesn't have to be slick back, but you guys get the gist. Just adding the accessories while having a bit of makeup on your face and wearing a matching set just all in all makes you feel 10 times more put together. Other tips that I recommend when it comes to the winter uglies is red light therapy. Red light therapy is definitely something that
allows you to have a better mood. It's almost called the happy light, which I think is supposed to reflect sunlight that you would have outside. I think that's what it is, but I could be wrong, but I have a red light therapy mask that I try and use every like two to three days. And there's also amazing benefits for your skin for doing that, but the red light therapy is truly a game changer and it really does help boost your overall mood. So definitely do your own research. Again, this is something that I've just done research on through, um, you know, my own research, but
It definitely helps a lot with your overall mood. The last thing I find helps boost my mood whenever I'm in the winter uglies is a teeth whitener. I talked about this a few episodes ago and you guys still chase me for this, which is so funny, but I've been loving this toothpaste. That's a whitening toothpaste. And guys, it's sold out everywhere. Like I literally can't even link it for you because every time someone asks me to link it, it's sold out. So I will link it once it's back in stock. Like I'm so upset because I just finished mine.
And it's just the best toothpaste I've ever used in my life. It's based in Europe. And I think that's why it's really difficult to get here because everyone's buying it off Amazon and clearly people have talked about it. It's not just me. I'm sure other people have hyped up the product through social media because it's that good. And I got my sister hooked on it. I got my mom hooked on it and it's completely transformed their teeth as well.
So when it comes back into stock, I will definitely link it for you guys. Or if you guys know where I can buy it, where it's available, let me know and I'll share it with everyone. Or if you want to gatekeep, but that's fine too. But the brand is the Marvis toothpaste. It's the whitening one and it tastes good.
It makes a difference completely with your teeth. I actually don't do whitening strips because I feel like I don't need to with this toothpaste. I used to do the whitening strips, but I hear mixed opinions about the whitening strips. I don't know how good it is for you. Like the cress ones. I just don't think the chemicals are probably good for us. So I just use this toothpaste from Europe and I love it and I think it works so well. I definitely think there's probably more natural resources for whitening your teeth. I hear
coconut oil pulling. I don't know if you guys have heard of that technique where you put coconut oil in your mouth and it's almost like you kind of smear it around in your mouth and then you spit it out and it's supposed to help whiten your teeth. I don't have real teeth for my first four front teeth. It's bonding and it's basically like a fake tooth, my four front teeth because of
some issue that I had as a kid. I'm not going to go into that detail, but anyways, not all like whitening strips and techniques like that, like the coconut oil pulling really work for my bonding. Unless if you're a dentist or a hygienist here listening to the podcast, you can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't always see the results when doing that. So I don't know, I just stick to a whitening toothpaste and I find that helps. But I definitely know there's a lot of brands that have gone viral on TikTok. I'm sure you can find them through there. I can't think of the brand right now.
but there's definitely a lot of like ways to whiten your teeth instead of just using like the crests, whitening strips. But I would say those are like my top 12 tips when it comes to the winter uglies. I feel like when I do these things, I definitely feel more confident. I feel like myself, I feel more put together. And it's kind of like my little glow up guide that I like always refer to whenever I'm feeling this way. I also feel like when you feel good, you also want your home to look good as well. So I also feel like
Making sure you're keeping up with a good clean home is always important. You'll feel even better when you have a clean space that you're always in. And just, I feel like when my house is clean, I feel better about myself too. I know that sounds weird, but I do think the environment that you're in every single day also makes a huge difference on how you feel.
So yeah, making sure you keep up with a good reset routine and yeah, just keeping your home clean. But that is today's episode guys. I hope you guys enjoyed it. I will be back for next week's episode. It will be kind of a last minute download because I don't get back until Tuesday night. So I'll be back on the Wednesday, which means they'll probably record and edit all in the same day. So
It may take me a bit of time to upload the next episode, but there will be an episode next week as well. So stay tuned for that. But I love you guys all so much. I am so excited to go down.
